  1. Rockstar have released a second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. It's one of those cinematic clip shows of scenes from the game, setting up the story and relationship between dual protagonists Jason and Lucia. It's horny and boring at the same time. Nope, there's still no word on a PC release, sorry. Read more View the full article

All players have to do is link their PROS account to the game and enter a code to unlock the Porphyr Shield Chainsword skin. 7. Well, wouldn't you know it. Microsoft's strategy of deploying a whole bunch of big Xbox games onto PS5 last month looks to have had the exact result the green brand was looking for, with top of the console's April best-seller list featuring Forza Horizon 5, Minecraft, and Oblivion Remastered. 8. Forza Motorsport's 20th Anniversary Update is one of those batches of content drops that can radically overhaul how you see a game, and it can even qualify as a new launch for 2025 (and the best racing game). My go-to racing game over the last couple of years has been Forza Horizon 5 (yes, I was late to the party), and it has grabbed a special place in my heart since. I have played Forza Motorsport in bits and pieces, but the 20th Anniversary Update has grabbed all my attention. The last few hours of playing it haven't been joyous, but I had to force myself to remember that this isn't a new game. Forza Motorsport's 20th Anniversary Update is a gift from the Gods 2025 hasn't been a good year so far if you're a fan of racing games. The biggest announcement of the first quarter has been the entry of Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation (says a lot). Like many, I have been desperate to see a glimmer of hope in some form, but the 20th Anniversary Update was certainly not on my Bingo card. From the outside, you might be wondering what's so special. After all, the core gameplay hasn't changed. The graphical aspects remain the same. You won't be wrong with those assumptions, but the amount of content that has been dropped as a free update is nothing short of magnificent. In fact, I can't remember when an update of this scale was made available in the Forza universe. All major 20th Anniversary Update content in Forza Motorsport The shining light of the new update is the Fujimi Kaido destination, which is a paradise for those who love to drift. The 16.5 km long track offers elevation, which allows you to observe the thrill of driving down a tough terrain. This is the perfect challenge to test any driver – you can perform speed bursts when required, but you'll also have to be careful with the turns (all 144 of them!) One of the most beautiful aspects of Forza Horizon 5 is the ability to just drive for fun. The new Meetups system added as part of the update is the perfect way to bond with your friends on the virtual platform. There are no rules, restrictions, or stipulations. Just select a car you love, and jam with your buddies doing whatever you want. The new update has four different types of Meetups, and you can join and leave seamlessly if you want to try something more competitive. Image via Xbox While Fujimi Kaido has everything you need to fall in love with Forza Motorsport, my favorite is the new steering wheel features. You can now enjoy full-fledged steering wheel calibration, allowing you to micromanage how you want your car to talk on the track. No longer will you have to rely on general calibration for all vehicles. To truly test this feature, make sure to use race cars, as they will have fewer degrees of steering lock-to-lock. Forza Motorsport's 20th Anniversary is the perfect tribute to the series The developers have left no stone unturned to make fans fall in love once again with all the previous games. The "20th Anniversary Tour" is a permanent addition in Career Mode, and it will have nostalgic moments from all the older games of the Motorsport franchise. Image via Xbox Forza Motorsport: Drive the 2005 Honda NSX-R in a special livery and MUGEN body kit.Forza Motorsport 2: Drive the 2003 Nissan Fairlady Z across every available mode.Forza Motorsport 3: Get ready to drive the cover car from the third installment of the series - the very beautiful 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro.Forza Motorsport 4: You get to ride one of the most beautiful cars ever made in this universe, the 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia.Forza Motorsport 5: The scene changes as you encounter a speed ****** in the form of the 2013 McLaren P1.Forza Motorsport 6: The sixth installment is being represented by the 2017 Ford GT.Forza Motorsport 7: The final installment is being represented by the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Completing the full tour will help you unlock the 2022 Acusa NSX Type S and the Nissan Z NISMO, both of which are making their debuts in the series. Completing the Spirit of Motorsport tour also allows you to take all these vehicles. If you're still not satisfied with these cars, there's a special car pack available as well (you'll have to spend extra, and it's not part of the Premium Edition). To celebrate the occasion, there are plenty of weekly and seasonal challenges that you can enjoy in Multiplayer to win more rewards. Do I believe Forza Motorsport will win GOTY in the sports and racing games category this year? No, because it's not a 2025 release, and we know what the rules are. However, the game's 20th Anniversary Update has been more than an actual full release in many ways, making Forza Motorsport the racing game to play in 2025 once again. 9. So, Grand Theft Auto 6 is actually happening, and Rockstar Games just finally dropped a second trailer to prove it. Happy Tuesday, gamers, and welcome back to Vice City. The new footage of the long-anticipated sequel just revealed a lot of new info about the mega entertainment title, including the full names of its protagonists (Jason Duval and Lucia Camino), along with some shockingly gorgeous graphics. [Hidden Content] And I mean, REALLY gorgeous graphics. Rockstar's photorealistic visuals look to be stepping things up to a new level with these criminal lovebirds as they romp around the fictional version of Miami that hasn't been seen since Tommy Vercetti was tearing it up in the mid-2000s. "Set in Vice City, Jason & Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them," the game's new official synopsis says. "But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive." The nearly three-minute trailer shows Jason and Lucia caught up in some hot passion, some hot crime, and some hot weather as they look to get their own slice of the American dream, featuring lots of embracing, sensual love, and guns. Guns and crime. The GTA 6 website got a huge overhaul, too, where a lot more information can be found on our stars. " Lucia’s father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk ," it says. "Life has been coming at her swinging ever since. Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary. Sheer luck got her out. Lucia’s learned her lesson — only smart moves from here. More than anything, Lucia wants the good life her mom has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City — but instead of half-baked fantasies, Lucia is prepared to take matters into her own hands." Jason, meanwhile, " wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder ," the site says. "Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. After a stint in the Army trying to shake off his troubled teens, he found himself in the Keys doing what he knows best, working for local drug runners. It might be time to try something new." The website also features looks at new characters Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Batista, and Brian Heder, all of whom look like your classic, colorful GTA characters brought to the modern era. Image via Rockstar Games GTA 6 was recently delayed to May 26, 2026, so this trailer and site update should keep fans frothing and fiending for more for quite some time. The post GTA 6’s second trailer just dropped on a random Tuesday, so let’s all freak out appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
  10. If you're at all familiar with Deadlock, you might remember some hullabaloo about its 'open secret' status during early testing. Valve's new MOBA/shooter was kept very much under wraps, with the company playing coy right up until the finish line. Even now, it's still invite-only. Why? Beats me, since getting a pass to go play isn't really hard... Read more.View the full article
  11. What's your favorite Age of Empires 2 campaign? I'm a bit of a purist - for me, it's the Genghis Khan story in The Age of Kings, especially the level where you have to destroy Jin's wonder and smash through the Great Wall of China. But between 42 civilizations, 229 missions, and more than two and a half decades of expansions, there's plenty of choice. Manor Lords is great. Stronghold is a classic. It'd be fantastic to have Command and Conquer back. But AoE 2 remains the best medieval RTS of all time, and possibly the greatest game in the entire genre. Now, Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition has a new expansion. Read the rest of the story... 12. Rockstar Games has released new screenshots for GTA 6 and revealed the game’s cast of characters and protagonists. The game will feature dual protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, Rockstar has confirmed. “Meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing to ever happen to him. 13. While remasters typically face some criticism over changing too much or too little from their source material, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has managed to set a new standard for the industry with its surprise release. Utilizing the same engine for the logic of its game world, Oblivion Remastered manages to bring the beloved experience up to the standards of modern audiences, with all the same gameplay quirks I remember. Despite the massively overhauled visuals, it's easy to forget what the original Oblivion looked like after spending countless more hours exploring Cyrodiil in a brand-new light. View the full article

  15. Microsoft has confirmed Wave 1 of the Xbox Game Pass May 2025 lineup. In a post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft revealed 12 games hitting its subscription service, taking us up to May 20. The biggest hitter here is Doom: The Dark Ages, the latest game in id Software’s world-famous first-person shooter series. That is, as a Microsoft-owned game, a day-one Game Pass launch. But it’s not the only day-one Game Pass launch of May 2025. Available today, May 6, is Dredge (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), which hits Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Here’s the official blurb, from Microsoft: Dredge is a single-player fishing adventure with a sinister undercurrent. Sell your catch, upgrade your boat, and dredge the depths for long-buried secrets. Explore a mysterious archipelago and discover why some things are best left forgotten. May 7 is a big day for Game Pass, with a number of additions: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard; Dungeons of Hinterberg (Console), now on Game Pass Standard; Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (Xbox Series X|S), now on Game Pass Standard; and Metal Slug Tactics (Console), also now on Game Pass Standard. Here’s a big one: May 8 sees Revenge of the Savage Planet (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) hit Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as a day-one title. In a future knocked off its axis by corporate greed and stupidity, you have been made redundant and abandoned on the far edge of space with little gear and no safety net. You must explore every nook and cranny, collect dozens of upgrades, and turn over every mysterious alien rock if you want to get revenge on your former employer and return to Earth. Also on May 8, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Join the legendary Turtle brothers straight from the sewer and slide into this new adventure of shell-shocking proportions. With the help of April’s insightful reports from the streets and Splinter’s sage guidance, gear up to fight crime and unravel an epic saga of justice and chaos! Moving on to May 13, we’ve got Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (Cloud and Console) on Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard. Making a return to the Game Pass library! Fight together with your friends against the forces of Chaos and Skaven in this epic 4-player co-op game set in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world. Vermintide 2 expands the intense first-person combat with a brand-new enemy faction, 15 new career paths, talent trees, new weapons, an improved loot system, and more. The main event is of course Doom: The Dark Ages (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), on May 15 when the shooter hits Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass day-one. Doom: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal that tells an epic cinematic story worthy of the Doom Slayer’s legend. In this third installment of the modern Doom series, players will step into the blood-stained boots of the Doom Slayer, in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell. Get a head start on slaying demons with the Premium Upgrade, including up to 2-Day Early Access, the campaign DLC at launch, and more. A day later, on May 16, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo (Cloud, Console, and PC) launches on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as yet another day-one title. Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo is a papercraft adventure game where you’ll meet the many good and not-so-good folks of Limbo, a place where souls with deep regrets are cursed into repeating the same day on a loop. Rounding out the May 2025 Wave 1 lineup on May 20 are Firefighting Simulator: The Squad (Cloud, Console, and PC) across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, and Police Simulator: Patrol Officers (Cloud, Console, and PC) also across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. 17. On April 29, a Barnes & Noble product page prematurely announced two upcoming Pathfinder books, Monster Core 2 and Lost Omens: Draconic Codex. Wargamer hit up publisher Paizo to learn more, and creative director Luis Loza says "both of these books gave us an opportunity to take monsters and make them our own". There are hundreds of mods for many titles that claim to make improvements on the way the game runs. Sadly, it's possible that some of these mods are nothing more than placebo effects, only making you think that the game is running better than it was before you installed the add-on. 21. The price of the fastest gaming SSD we've ever tested has just dropped by up to $50, thanks to this latest SSD deal. Amazon says it's a limited-time offer, so you'll need to get in quick, but it enables you to save $30 off the price of a 1TB Samsung 9100 Pro, and $50 off the 4TB model, giving you a discount of up to 15%. I recently gave this drive a score of 8/10 in my Samsung 9100 Pro review, and my only main criticism was the high price. It's otherwise incredibly fast, and this Samsung SSD also runs remarkably cool for a high-speed PCIe 5.0 drive too, earning it a place on our best gaming SSD guide. All versions of the SSD are currently on offer too, spanning 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, with and without heatsinks. Read the rest of the story...
