  1. Players looking for a sprawling open-world RPG game to get lost in have plenty of options right now, especially with both Clair Obscur Expedition 33 and a remaster of The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion having launched very recently. Those looking for even more from Bethesda Game Studios, creator of the latter game, just received some surprising good news as well, since the studio has launched a big new update to its 2023 space game Starfield that provides a host of fixes to ongoing technical issues. 3. A recent leak in the Genshin Impact community finally provided players with a gameplay overview of Skirk, one of the most anticipated characters of the Natlan era. As Genshin Impact approaches the launch of Version 5.6, players are getting their first impressions of Skirk and Dahlia, the final two characters from the famous silhouette teaser in December 2024. Whereas Dahlia will only make an introduction in Version 5.6, players have had over a year to build excitement over Skirk. View the full article

  6. While Bungie is obviously quite busy presumably stressing over lukewarm responses to its next game Marathon, they're still working on a bunch of Destiny 2 stuff. The studio revealed a plethora of expansions today, all of which are building up a new "multi-year saga" called the Fate Saga. We'll get to it in a moment, but one of these expansions might raise an eyebrow, as it is quite literally a Star Wars crossover, but is also described by narrative designer Alison Luhrs as one that will push the Fate Saga "forward in important ways and introduce characters that we're going to spend time with for years to come." 7. A new trailer for Helldivers 2 appeared online briefly before being mysteriously removed by PlayStation, and it's got players speculating that an Xbox port may be coming soon. The co-op third-person shooter came to PlayStation 5 and PC in February 2024, but since it's published by Sony, it is not available on Xbox, despite the community's general hope that it'll reach more platforms. 8. Intel has revealed that it's experimenting with direct CPU water cooling, where an Intel CPU package has a waterblock built onto it to remove as much heat as possible from the chip. The company has apparently been working on the tech for years, and says that the system can dissipate a massive 1,000W of thermal energy using standard liquid coolant. Removing heat from the CPU as efficiently as possible has become a huge market in recent years, with many of the best CPU coolers featuring closed-loop liquid cooling systems, where a waterblock and pump unit are attached to the CPU. However, there would be no need for a waterblock if these Intel prototype designs become standard, as it would already be a part of the CPU. Read the rest of the story... 9. What are the secret room codes in Warzone? Verdansk is back and, arguably, better than ever. Season 3 was a throwback to the very beginning of the iconic battle royale map, and although it had a touch-up in the graphics department, it was the same rip-roaring fun as we remember. Season 3 Reloaded looked to enhance that further, with one of the additions being secret rooms full of loot. Those from way back in the early Warzone days will remember these secret rooms: heavily contested during the initial drop, it was about who could survive the initial firefight, then who had the secret room codes to hand to unlock them. We've collected all the locations of the secret rooms in the battle royale, and more importantly, the codes you need to unlock them. Read the rest of the story... 10. You don't want to take on a Creeper with a sword if you can help it. You're better off going into battle with a bow and arrow, creating distance between yourself and your target to ensure any residual damage doesn't wreck the world you've spent countless hours trying to perfect. This is one of the earliest lessons you learn in Minecraft, and with Mojang's latest snapshot, called 25w19a, it's about to get much easier to pull off those vital ranged shots. 15. More and more evidence is pointing to the release of a new AMD budget gaming GPU in the very near future, with the latest leak revealing a Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card at a Brazilian retailer. According to the listing, the new graphics card has 16GB of VRAM, and also has a surprisingly large cooler attached to it. While AMD has acknowledged that it has a cheaper GPU coming, no details have so far been officially shared about the 9060 XT. However, Radeon RX 9060 XT release date rumors point to the new GPU launching in the same week as the RTX 5060 release date. 16. Skirk’s complete gameplay kit in Genshin Impact 5.7 has finally leaked following a series of separate and less concrete rumors about how she would work, and despite how powerful she may prove to be, I can’t help but be a bit disappointed with how she will work. Skirk is expected to become a playable character in Version 5.7 alongside Dahlia. Both characters have already been teased as playable units before the arrival of Version 6.0, and among a larger list which contained characters like Mizuki, Varesa, and Escoffier in Genshin Impact, Skirk and Dahlia are the last ones that remain. One of the trickiest types to feed are Sunbirds, which have the most complex favorite food system of all the critters. Feeding critters their favorite foods is the only way to unlock them as permanent companions. It's also sometimes an essential task in Star Path events, so you need to know how to get it done. Most critters have a complex interaction process that requires a lot of work before you can feed them, but Sunbirds are simple and easy to approach. They're a lot trickier when it comes to what they like to eat, though. What is Sunbirds' favorite food in Disney Dreamlight Valley? All Sunbirds' favorite food is Flowers, but the exact type of Flowers they enjoy varies for each unique version of this critter. They generally enjoy Flowers that are the same color as their vibrant feathers, but all Sunbirds are quite colorful, so figuring out the right colors can be a bit tough. 22. The summer is already heating up nicely between console giants Xbox and PlayStation, as three games from the former's studios have become top-sellers for the latter. Based on the information released by PlayStation, the three top-selling games are all from studios that Xbox owns. Typically, there won't be much inference to draw, but these are two institutions that have been on opposite ends in the console wars. The recent success could also end up changing the relationship between the two and the face of console wars as we know them. Xbox games dominated PlayStation's downloads for April Based on the official information from PlayStation, the top three spots for game downloads during April were dominated by Xbox first-party studios. This includes numbers for both the EU and the US/Canada. Here are the rankings. US/Canada The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion RemasteredMinecraftForza Horizon 5 EU Forza Horizon 5The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion RemasteredMinecraft There have been a lot of question marks and discussions about Xbox's recent strategy regarding video game accessibility. Both Forza Horizon 5 and Minecraft have been console exclusives for a long time (aside from being available on PC). Both games becoming available on PlayStation consoles was a tad surprising. Between the two, Forza Horizon 5 is the more recent entrant. Based on the number of downloads (none of these games are free-to-play), we can safely assume that there's an incredible demand from PlayStation users to experience these games (irrespective of them coming from Xbox-owned studios). [Hidden Content] The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was the semi-shadow drop that happened during the last week of April, but it managed to grab the attention of PlayStation users. The news won't surprise anyone because the OG Oblivion has always been an incredibly popular title. Bethesda definitely managed to hit the mark with the Remastered edition. Releasing it on PlayStation on day one helped it to grab its spot in the top-3 in both regions. How could the numbers affect the future? It's pretty clear that Xbox will continue to release games on PlayStation (despite the latter not doing the same). We have seen them following this pattern for the last few months, and it's likely to continue given the clear commercial success. It's unlikely that we will see Sony reciprocating the favor anytime soon (although we have been witnessing an increasing number of PC ports). I have always been in favor of games being accessible to as many people as possible, and these numbers just prove that the so-called console wars fall flat when the games are high-quality. It doesn't matter who makes the games; players will back them as long as they're available on their chosen platform. 24. Over a year since the first trailer debuted, Rockstar Games has finally dropped the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. While practically every part of this trailer is exciting purely due to the hype surrounding GTA 6, one specific aspect stood out as particularly exciting: the NPCs. View the full article
