  5. If you think you've mastered the art of ghost hunting in Phasmophobia, you may be ready to put your skills to the test. Weekly challenge modes are a great way to see how good you are. These special trials modify how the game works, usually with rules that make the experience a lot harder. Successfully finishing the challenge gets you plenty of XP and cash, so it's well worth the effort. Here's the weekly challenge in Phasmophobia and everything you need to know to beat it. Screenshot by Destructoid Phasmophobia Paranormal Paparazzi weekly challenge mode tips The Paranormal Paparazzi challenge is one of the trickier ones you can attempt in Phasmophobia, so here are some of the best tips to help you get it done. Learn Point Hope's layout. The 10 levels of this massive winding lighthouse map are extremely tricky to navigate if you're not familiar with this location. Load a custom version of the game with the friendly ghost option turned on to freely explore this map and learn everything there is to know about it. Use your fancy Motion Sensors and Sound Sensors to find the ghost. The Paranormal Paparazzi challenge grants you an array of advanced technological items, so make use of them to quickly find the ghost. I recommend using all of your Motion Sensors and Sound Sensors right away to make finding the ghost easier. You can place one on each level to see where you pick up activity and move them around to check other areas as needed. Play with friends. Your odds of success are a lot better with allies helping you through this tricky trial. With additional ghost hunters at your side, you can explore the map more quickly, work together to gather evidence, and continue the investigation even if you perish. Don't give up. Since all equipment is provided to you for free, there's nothing to lose in this challenge. Because of this, you can keep trying without worrying about losing money or equipment. Give each contract your all and keep at it until you manage to get it done. When does the challenge mode change in Phasmophobia? The challenge mode changes every Monday at 12am UTC, which translates to 7pm CT every Sunday. You have a full week to tackle each challenge mode when it's available. All challenge modes return on a regular basis since they're on a rotating schedule, so if you don't get to finish one, you can always try it again in the future. Next weekly challenge mode in Phasmophobia The next weekly challenge mode, which will run from May 25 to June 1, is Hide and Seek: Extreme. One of the most downloaded mods for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 aims to make players' time with the game more manageable, especially if you aren't used to action game mechanics, like parrying and dodging. Expedition 33 features a turn-based combat system, similar to the Final Fantasy or Persona series, combined with real-time action gameplay elements, like dodges and parries, akin to a game like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The window to successfully pull off dodges and parries might be too much for more traditional turn-based players, so this aims to give more difficulty customization. View the full article

  9. If you've checked out Magic: The Gathering's new Final Fantasy series recently and spotted something a little different about Sephiroth, you're not alone. But director Tetsuya Nomura "can't share" why there's been a change… yet. The Magic: The Gathering x Final Fantasy crossover set has been designed by some of the talented artists behind the games, including Nomura himself, and cards include two designs of Final Fantasy 7's infamous villain, Sephiroth. "This time around, I drew Sephiroth on both the front and back sides of the card," Nomura explained in a statement posted to social media. "I actually drew them so that they would join up if placed one on top of the other, so if you manage to get two of the same card and line them up, you'll see how the original illustration looked. "There is also a reason that the design for Safer Sephiroth is different from the original game, but I unfortunately can't share more about that." Safer Sephiroth — which appears on the card "Fabled SOLDIER" — has both arms, while on the second card, called "One-Winged Angel," he has one arm and a spectacular wing. Unveiling a brand-new illustration reflecting Sephiroth’s journey in Final Fantasy VII, with comments from illustrator Tetsuya Nomura. Magic: The Gathering — Final Fantasy launches June 13.#MTGxFinalFantasy [Hidden Content] — FINAL FANTASY VII (@finalfantasyvii) May 12, 2025 Almost immediately, fans got to work trying to decipher what the change may mean. "Safer Sephiroth has two arms and what appears to be legs. Seems to be taking some cues from Dissidia NT Safer Sephiroth. I wonder what this could mean for the story in Part 3," suggested one player, while another merely said: "We got a sneek-peek into Safer Sephiroth for Part 3, didn't we?" Magic: The Gathering's Final Fantasy set will be a fully draftable, Standard-legal set that will release alongside four preconstructed Commander decks, one themed after each of four Final Fantasy games: 6, 7, 10, and 14. Each deck consists of 100 cards, a mix of both new Final Fantasy cards, as well as existing cards with new Final Fantasy art. The set launches on June 13. We're now awaiting the third and final Final Fantasy 7 Remake edition — name unknown — after we received the first of the trilogy in 2020, and the second, Rebirth, last year in 2024. And just to complicate things further, an enhanced edition called Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was released for PS5 and PC in 2021, with a version also on the way for Nintendo Switch 2. In January, it emerged that Square Enix had completed the story of the third and final part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. Speaking to Famitsu and translated by Eurogamer, Final Fantasy series producer Yoshinori Kitase and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi said development on the highly anticipated conclusion was progressing smoothly. "I'm very satisfied with [the story], so I'm sure fans will be satisfied with the final chapter," Kitase said, adding that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth creative director Tetsuya Nomura gave him "homework" to ensure this was the case. The story of Part 3 was required to have a respect for the original Final Fantasy 7 alongside a new level of satisfaction not felt in that game, Kitase said. Square Enix announced its plans to release Final Fantasy 7 Remake as a trilogy in June 2022, following the launch of the first game which had fans questioning if the entire story would need a dozen parts to be told properly. This is because Final Fantasy Remake itself only adapted the opening few hours of the original game, up to the point where the party leaves Midgar. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth expanded the scope significantly, however, introducing the open world and thus covering myriad locations such as Costa del Sol, the Golden Saucer, and many more, including some new ones. It brought the overall story up to the end of Disc 1 of the original Final Fantasy 7, which closes in both games with what's arguably the most iconic moment in video game history. Part 3 will pick up immediately after this, though very little is known about it so far. Development began in June 2022 but Square Enix hasn't said when it will end, only vaguely noting it hopes to release Part 3 by 2027. Something it has said, however, is that it "will not cheat" when it comes to the Highwind airship. This allowed the party to quickly move around the map in the original game but, now in the world of fast travel, many fans wondered how the iconic ship could be implemented. "We will not cheat with the airship system [in Part 3] but take the challenge head on so it can freely fly all over the game map," Hamaguchi said last November. 10. Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 will be hadouken-ing its way into an anime this year. Kadokawa recently revealed a teaser trailer for Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games, an anime adaptation of Eri Ejima’s manga of the same name. The story is set in Kuromi Girls’ Academy, an exclusive school for rich kids which aims to produce refined young ladies. Gaining entry to the prestigious institution on a scholarship is main character Aya Mitsuki, who has played fighting games since elementary school. She soon becomes fascinated by beautiful and graceful fellow student Mio Yorue, nicknamed Shirayuri (white lily). However, appearances can be deceptive, as beneath her elegant exterior, Mio is a tough-talking button-mashing gamer! Will a mutual love of fighting games result in a deeper relationship between the girls? (NEW) Seinen Anime 'Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games' Promotional Teaser featuring Street Fighter 6![Hidden Content] — Fighting-Games Daily (@FGC_Daily) May 9, 2025 In the original manga, the characters played a fictional fighting game, however, with Capcom’s sponsorship of the anime, it seems like they will be battling it out in Street Fighter 6. Interestingly, FAV Gaming (Kadokawa’s professional esports team) is credited in the trailer for collaborating on recording. The anime of Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games is due out sometime in 2025. 11. Amazon *** customers have been treated with an exclusive opportunity to get a beautifully gross Silent Hill f steelbook with their physical preorders, either on PS5 or Xbox for £69.99. Steelbook editions are usually only sold by one retailer in each region, but the *** seems to have lucked out so far by getting the chance to grab a special case featuring a close-up of protagonist Hinako Shimizu. Amazon in the US only lists preorders for the base version of the game, with no other retailers currently selling a steelbook either. If you're in the US, you can still preorder this version via Amazon *** using international shipping. It’s an especially eerie look featuring the front half of her face cut off, like in the game’s first announcement trailer, but presented in a stunning oil-painted aesthetic that makes it fit right in with the tone the game is trying to set. Set in 1960s Japan, Silent Hill f is gearing up to stand as a very unique entry in the series. That’s as Hinako’s fictional hometown of Ebisugaoka is enveloped in a fog and must fight off grotesque, newly emerged monsters to survive. You can also get the base version of Silent Hill f at Amazon for £68, so getting such a creepy yet gorgeous steelbook for only £2 more is quite a steal. The biggest relief of this for many Silent Hill fans, however, is that it seems like fellow retailer GAME isn’t having the rights to new steelbooks for the series this time around, after the Silent Hill 2 remake. It’s all too soon to forget the debacle GAME had with steelbook editions of Silent Hill 2, leading to the steelbooks being delayed to arrive much later than with base versions of the game, and system issues that prevented customers from cancelling their orders to get their money back. Because of supply issues, some customers never even got their Steelbooks at all. Whether going with a different retailer this time was Konami’s response to GAME previously dropping the ball, or Amazon simply made a much better case for itself, remains to be seen. Whichever way, with a much more reliable online infrastructure and delivery system, Amazon handling the Silent Hill f Steelbooks gives a much ******* guarantee you’ll get what you ordered on time. This means that you'll randomly get assigned your Generation, your Abilities, and even your Clan name. Simply open the Shop icon from the menu screen ("M" key) and select what you want to buy. You can buy any reroll from the list above, but for Robux. If you are in a hurry and have a few hundred Robux to spare, this is a very easy way to reroll one of your stats. How to get Reroll Tokens in Fire Force Online Screenshot by Destructoid If you decide to reroll something about your character, but aren't willing to shell out Robux, you'll need Reroll Tokens. You can get them in three different ways: Get them using Fire Force Reignition codesGet them through Daily QuestsGet them in AFK World If you use all the codes currently available in Fire Force Reignition, you can get more than 300 Reroll Tokens and several Ability Reroll Tokens, and even a few Generation Reroll Tokens. Even though these aren't guaranteed to give you the Ability or the Generation you want, there is no reason why you shouldn't take advantage of this. Once you run out of codes, your next best place to earn Reroll Tokens is by finishing Daily Quests. Each Daily Quest can earn you 3-4 Reroll tokens. This isn't a lot, but Daily Quests are relatively easy, so you may as well do them each day and stack up on the tokens. Screenshot by Destructoid Last but not least, there is the AFK World. Simply enter this mode from the Main Menu, and leave your game running. Every 10 minutes, you'll receive one reroll token. This is a slow process, but it can pay off a lot if you can leave Fire Force Reignition running through the night. Unfortunately, you need to be Rank 20+ to use this feature. That's all there is to it. Have fun earning Reroll Tokens, and hopefully, you'll be able to get that one Ability you've always wanted. 24. Weekly quests are generally some of the trickiest but most rewarding tasks you can tackle in Fortnite. One of the many tasks you'll come across asks you to sprint distance while under the effects of Slap. Like most weekly quests, this one asks you to interact with a gamepal feature you may not be super familiar with. The Slap effect is a subtle one, so there have likely been many times you've activated it without even realizing it. Here's how to sprint distance while under the effects of Slap in Fortnite. Table of contentsSprint distance while under the effects of Slap in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic BattleWhat is the Slap effect in Fortnite? How to get the Slap effect in FortniteAll Slap effect items in FortniteSprint distance while under the effects of Slap in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle Screenshot by Destructoid To complete the sprint distance while under the effects of Slap quest, you need to travel a total of 100 distance while the Slap effect is active in Fortnite. Depending on how long it takes you to travel around this much, you may need to consume multiple items to get it done. The first step you need to take for this quest is to find an item you can use to acquire the Slap effect. The Slap items present in this season can appear anywhere on the map as a random loot item, so check the ground and all chests you come across to search for them. Once you have a Slap item, consume it and get ready to start running. Travel around as quickly as you can and try to cover lots of distance to cover all the ground you need for this quest. Once you've traveled 100 meters, the quest will be complete. What is the Slap effect in Fortnite? The Slap effect is a unique gameplay mechanic that grants you unlimited Stamina for a ******* of time. The amount of time it's active for varies depending on the item you use to activate it. Many Slap items also have some bonus effects like restoring health or shields. How to get the Slap effect in Fortnite There are various ways you can acquire the Slap effect in each season, but for Star Wars Galactic Battle, the only available one is to drink certain consumable items. The Slap effect is temporary, so you only have it for a limited amount of time whenever you manage to acquire it. Screenshot by Destructoid All Slap effect items in Fortnite The loot pool of weapons and items Star Wars Galactic Battle is fairly limited, so there are only two items you can find and use to obtain the Slap effect. The Slap items featured in this season are: Slap Splash - restores 15 health or shields and grants the Slap effect for 30 seconds.Slap Juice - restores 15 health and grants the Slap effect for 50 seconds. There are no other items that grant the Slap effect present in this season, including environmental ones. You may be tempted to go searching for Slap Barrels, but the only barrels you can find this season are Slurp Barrels. These ones don't grant the effect you need for this quest, so stick to looting chests for the best shot of finding what you're after. If you're looking for more XP, there are plenty of other quests you can work on around the island. Next, you might try using a telephone booth to don a disguise, completing Leia Organa’s story quests, and bringing a Jedi Padawan lightsaber to General Grievous.
