Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 fans are rejoicing after the developer handed modders the keys to its internal editor, sparking hope it could ‘do a Skyrim’ and last for years with user-generated content. Game director Dmitry Grigorenko took to the Space Marine 2 modding Discord to announce what he described as “our biggest milestone yet in supporting the modding community.” Developer Saber Interactive has released the official Integration Studio for public use. This is the same editor the developers use internally for all gameplay development. This first release lets modders work with everything from level scenarios to game modes, tinker with AI behavior, abilities and melee combo logic, user interface and HUD elements, and make much of the general modding work with Space Marine 2 faster and easier. “Not long ago, I promised we would support the modding scene — and we meant it,” Grigorenko said. “Watching this community grow, push boundaries, and create incredible experiences has been both inspiring and humbling. We’re excited to see what you build next — whether it’s a cinematic campaign, wild new game mode, or something we never saw coming.” To get the ball rolling, Grigorenko released jokey concept art for a "Fishing With Daddy Calgar" mini-game, below, which is technically possible now with these tools. Calgar is Marneus Calgar, the leader of the Ultramarines chapter of Space Marines. To find out what the Space Marine 2 modding community plans to do with this editor, I had a quick chat with Tom, aka Warhammer Workshop, the modder behind Space Marine 2’s excellent Astartes Overhaul. Fresh from releasing a mod that enables 12-player co-op in Space Marine 2, Tom told me that he now has access to all the scripting tools that control what happens in any particular mission, as well as for all the different game components like weapons and abilities. This means modders could, for example, create a Space Marine 2 roguelite mode where modders spawn in one of the swarm sequences from the campaign with nothing but a combat knife, and progressively spawn ******* and tougher enemies, with percentage chances to spawn weapons, ammo, and health on death. “Killing a Carnifex might grant you a Heavy Bolter,” Tom suggested. As for a brand new cinematic campaign, Tom said that while a Chaos campaign would “definitely” be doable, cutscenes are trickier because modders so far do not have access to the animation tools necessary. However, Tom is currently planning on adding new factions to Space Marine 2, including the Tau and Necrons, as the modders have the rigs that will fit those. Meanwhile, the Space Marine 2 modding community is racing to actually make the Fishing With Daddy Calgar mini-game mod Grigorenko challenged them to. Reaction from Space Marine 2 fans is hugely positive, and with good reason. While Space Marine 2 is well-received and has gone down as one of the best-selling Warhammer video games of all time, it is relatively limited in terms of its official offering. That is to say, it contains three factions only: Space Marines, Chaos (a mix of Chaos Marines and some Tzeentch Daemons), and the Tyrannids. Players had hoped for DLC that might extend the faction roster (the Space Marine 2 campaign teased the Necrons), but can now take matters into their own hands. “This is how you keep a game alive for years like Skyrim,” said redditor Mortwight. It’s a particularly interesting development in the context of Saber and publisher Focus Entertainment’s announcement that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 is in development. Some Space Marine 2 fans have expressed concern about what this means for potential DLC, although both Saber and Focus have insisted they’re not abandoning the game. Still, Space Marine 2 is in a much better position now modders have the editor in hand. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. The co-founder and CEO of the studio behind the Ori games says it may have to close down due to its latest game being “review bombed”. Moon Studios released action RPG No Rest for the Wicked in early access in April 2024 and currently has a ‘Mostly Positive’ rating on Steam, with 74% of the nearly 35,000 user reviews marked as positive. Despite this, Moon Studios CEO Thomas Mahler took to Discord (as spotted by a NeoGAF user) to tell players that the game has been “review bombed” and putting the company’s future at risk. Storing money in a mattress in Cash Cleaner Simulator is an effective way of stacking and moving your bills once you've unlocked it. The Mattress is one of many useful tools available for you to clean and move your bills. This particular tool can be purchased and placed at a spot you like. Then, all you have to do is to stack bundles of cash inside it (there's plenty of space to store plenty of bundles). How to get the mattress in Cash Cleaner Simulator There are two major ways of obtaining new tools in the game. Some, like the Washing Machine, are unlocked after you complete a few starter missions. You can't directly purchase them without finishing their required missions. Some, like the Mattress, can be purchased from the store and then put to use. Once you purchase the Mattress, place it down at a suitable spot on the floor. Use your knife to unbind it, which will then allow you to store the cash bills. How to store money in the Mattress in Cash Cleaner Simulator Screenshot via Mind Control Games The next part of the process involves stacking your bills into bundles. I haven't tried if you can store individual bills in the Mattress. The correct process seems to be storing them in the form of stacks, which also reduces the time required to store the bills. Once done, take the stack and go to your Mattress. Press the right mouse button to drop, which will add the stack automatically to a vacant space. You can repeat the same process till the mattress is full with stacks of cash. Press F to load up the Mattress once again after it's filled with the required bills. Take it then to the Delivery Point, and drop down the Mattress. That will complete the process of stacking the cash bills in your Mattress. These tools are all essential parts of your business, but they will need more space to be used. Your priority should be to turn on the broken switch to complete the Light It Up quest, which will automatically expand the floor space and allow you to use more tools. I started writing this piece as a sort of "oh, this was cool!" bit of game archaeology after seeing a post from Scott Krol - who shares consistently fascinating bits of ephemera on video and tabletop games - on the physical bits that came with 1984's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy adventure game. "Infocom, known for their brilliant text adventures, was the first company to put physical items in with their games," writes Scott. "In fact, Infocom were attributed as the first to coin the term “feelies” for physical goodies that came with the game". Read more View the full article

As you advance through Cash Cleaner Simulator, you'll learn the joys of dealing with bills covered in dirt, grime, and strange ink, without clear indicators of where some of these substances came from. You'll also find counterfeit cash, which you'll need to separate from the rest before completing your quests. Table of contentsHow to get a UV light in Cash Cleaner SimulatorHow to spot fake bills using the UV light in Cash Cleaner SimulatorRegular billsCounterfeitMarkedHow to get a UV light in Cash Cleaner Simulator Before separating regular cash from counterfeit in Cash Cleaner Simulator, you'll need to purchase a UV lamp from the in-game ****** Market. At first, your best option is to stick to a portable UV lamp for $750. Later on in your playthrough, you'll unlock more effective options that are pricier, such as a stationary UV lamp. Screenshot by Destructoid After a brief delivery, you'll receive your UV lamp, letting you pick up and activate it to spot fake bills. Although it's best used at night with the lights off, it'll work fine as long as you're not in broad daylight or have all your lights on in the facility. How to spot fake bills using the UV light in Cash Cleaner Simulator Once you acquire your UV lamp, you're ready to use it on your cash. Your goal is to look for various markings, from dotted lines to yellow stamps and red symbols. Each signals whether they're legitimate or marked, with no markings revealing it's counterfeit cash. Screenshot by Destructoid Regular bills Your first and most common bill type is regular cash. Using the UV lamp near it will spot marks like blue dashed lines, yellow spots, and highlighted numbers. While not all of these markings are on every bill, your goal is to find at least one on any given bill. You can even spot these through dirt, but I would still recommend cleaning dirty money to make seeing these icons easier. Screenshot by Destructoid In short, if your bill changes in any way other than showing a red marking, you've found a regular bill you can package and ship out. Otherwise, we'll need to dig deeper for the other two. Counterfeit Your second option is finding counterfeit cash. These show absolutely zero markings when you use UV light on them. If your bills look identical after flicking the lamp on and off, you have some counterfeit cash in front of you. Screenshot by Destructoid Don't throw these away, though. Some missions ask you for only counterfeit or certain marked bill types. Keep these in a special spot somewhere away from the rest of your cash before proceeding with the rest of your playthrough. Marked Your last option is marked bills. These will show regular bill markings, with large red symbols defining them. These can come in different forms, from Xs to suspicious eyes on your money. Screenshot by Destructoid The types of symbols you encounter will determine whether you're looking at a police or gang marking. For example, the image above shows Gang-marked bills, while ones with large Xs in the tutorial are police versions. Some missions will differentiate between the two, so keep marked bills separate from each other and unmarked variants. Borderlands 4 is one of the most anticipated games of 2025, especially now that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed. However, I find myself a little weary of it. It isn't that I don't care about the Borderlands series, as I do. Rather, I feel like I've been let down so often by it that I don't trust whatever Gearbox has cooked up will be something worthwhile. I feel I am in the ********* with my opinions on the series, which I find a great shame, as I'd so desperately love to return to the majority's way of thinking. View the full article

I strongly believe that Assassin's Creed Shadows is a very good Ubisoft game that has a lot to teach future open-world titles. It may be somewhat controversial to have that opinion in 2025, especially considering Ubisoft's track record over the past five or so years, ostensibly running any goodwill and positive reputation it had into the ground. However, it has, for the most part, turned a new leaf and has begun introducing unique and genuinely meaningful improvements to its open-world formula that had become a little too familiar for many's liking. Grand Theft Auto 6's marketing continues to baffle me, especially with Rockstar dropping the game's second trailer completely out of the blue. Of course, it doesn't really matter what Rockstar does, as millions of fans have flocked to watch it since it was ostensibly shadow-dropped. I have to say, as much as my enthusiasm for Grand Theft Auto in general was significantly waning, this trailer did enough to pull me back in and make me annoyed it has since been delayed, rather than celebrating the gates it opens for other AA and even AAA games. The announcement of Gears of War: Reloaded was pretty exciting in the moment, especially as we were coming down from the exceptional high of Oblivion Remastered shadow dropping out of nowhere. The Light It Up quest is a rather confusing mission to complete in Cash Cleaner Simulator, and it requires you to turn on a certain broken switch. The mission looks pretty straightforward at first, but the game doesn't do a good job of explaining how you can complete it. This guide will provide you with all the required steps for completing the Light It Up quest, including finding the broken switch. How to solve the Light It Up quest in Cash Cleaner Simulator Once you've accepted the quest, you'll get clues from Lifehacker. One involves a challenge about "something glowing" and finding a combination of darkness and ultraviolet. First, turn off all the lights in the room so that it becomes dark. Next, use your portable UV Lamp, and you'll come across graffiti near the conveyor belt. This clue will tell you something about levers and handles that are hidden from plain sight. You'll also find a set of arrows that will lead you to the missing lever. The next part of the task is pretty simple. Keep following the arrow, and you'll come across a steel beam near the pipes. Look up, and you'll find a red item on it, and this is the missing lever. Throw something at it, and it will fall for you to collect the item. While you can throw any item at it, the best option is to go for boxes. Pick up a box and press the T button to throw it. As long as you touch the lever with your throwable, it will fall. Screenshot via Mind Control Games As an alternative, you can use the ladder to reach the lever once you have discovered its location. Either method works, so it's down to your discretion. Once you've obtained the lever, interact with the broken switch. Turn on the switch after the lever has been put on it, and you'll finish the Light It Up quest. This quest is extremely important for your in-game progression, as it will expand your workplace. A cutscene follows the mission, and your conveyor belt location will blow up. Make sure to pick up all your tools before you shift to the new area. While there are several tools to use, the Washing Machine is certainly one of the more useful ones, especially if you're dealing with a lot of dirty cash.
