  2. The Buried City Hospital Key allows you to access a high-tier loot area in ARC Raiders, and finding it can be a gruelling test. Like all non-quest keys inside the game, you'll be mainly relying on your luck. However, you'll still have to look at the correct places to raise your chances of success. This guide will help you discover the quest and also state where you can use the key. Table of contentsHow to get the Buried City Hospital key in ARC RaidersWhere to use Buried City Hospital key in ARC RaidersHow to get the Buried City Hospital key in ARC Raiders The best place to look for the Hospital Key is the residential areas in Dam Battlegrounds. A couple of my friends managed to get the key from Ruby Residence, which is located in the western part of the map. I have marked its location on the screenshot below to help you find the place. Screenshot and Remix by Destructoid I managed to get the key from the Research and Administration building on the slightly eastern part of the map. There's a loot area on the second floor that spawns random keys. If you're lucky, you might end up with a Hospital key from the location. This particular spot is also great for finding keys that unlock other locations, like the Blue Gate Village and the Cellar locations. Where to use Buried City Hospital key in ARC Raiders The Hospital is located in the northwestern part of the Buried City map. You'll first want to get to the third floor using the stairs. Take the path that goes left, move past the first door, and you'll get the room on your left (don't take the immediate left). Screenshot and Remix by Destructoid You can use the key to unlock the door and obtain all the available loot. A note of caution: the Hospital is a high-tier loot area, so you can always expect to find trouble at this location. It's better to remove the enemies first before proceeding to loot the location. This area is also part of the Medical Merchandise quest, so finding the key is pretty essential if you're aiming to move forward with completing the vital mission and getting more rewards in the process. 4. Another NetEase Games studio is set to close, as the fallout of the ******** publisher’s alleged withdrawal from its international operations continues. Former World of Warcraft and League of Legends designer, Greg Street, announced on Monday that his studio, Fantastic Pixel Castle, will close this month, barring a last-minute rescue from any potential investors. Fantastic Pixel Castle was founded in 2023 to create “a modernized fantasy MMORPG”, codenamed Ghost. Read More... View the full article

  6. It's been less than a week since Battlefield's free-to-play REDSEC battle royale mode launched, but players of the paid Battlefield 6 game are not a fan of how the winds seem to be changing. As a long-time Call of Duty player, I only have one response: "First time?" Because yeah, anyone could have seen EA's focus shifting to the money-making free-to-play mode and microtransactions coming by looking at the past five years of CoD and Warzone. But I also think the panic may be setting in a bit too quick. Images via EA One such vocal BF6 fan took to the anger-pit that is the Battlefield Reddit page to voice their concerns, angrily calling BF6 a "bait and switch" and "a Call of Duty game wearing a Battlefield skin, marketed as a 'return to form' for the BF3/BF4 era that never arrived." Oof. The Redditor brought forth the key art for BF6 compared to REDSEC's as evidence, citing the game's branding as a "drastic tonal shift" that spells the beginning of the era where REDSEC is the focus and BF6 falls behind, at least in theory. "The launch branding felt like the core BF we’ve all missed," the player said. "The four anonymous soldiers, seen only from behind, communicated that this game is about nameless fighters thrown into all-out war. Then came season one. After barely 18 days of that grounded atmosphere, this new branding looks ripped straight from Call of Duty and seems to represent a broader shift." A lot of users felt compelled to call the post out, saying that BF6 feels the same for them and that the poser is exaggerating. But some others are smelling what the OP is cooking, especially when it comes to seeing Warzone and CoD's influences. "What I hate is how stylistically it's the EXACT copy of CoD/Warzone, like they're not even trying to hide it or give it their own spin," another gamer said. "I played CoD/Warzone a bunch and it feels like a permanent Deja Vu being in the menus. I don't hate CoD/Warzone for what it is, let it be what it is. I was just also hoping to get that BF experience back. If I wanted Warzone, I'd play Warzone...wtf..." For what it's worth, Steam reviews for REDSEC are Mixed, while BF6's clock in at Mostly Positive, reflecting a wide array of opinions when it comes to both games. Either way, there's over 400,000 players online on Steam as I type this (player count is not tracked individually for the different modes), so EA and Battlefield Studios are doing something right. Image via EA I'm personally not a BF6 player but I have tried REDSEC, and I thought it was a fine game. What say you, dear reader? Is BF6 headed down the Warzone path with REDSEC? Let us know in the comments below. The post ‘A CoD game with a Battlefield skin’: Some BF6 players are annoyed with EA’s ‘bait and switch’ focus on REDSEC appeared first on Destructoid. 7. The vast majority of Battlefield 6 players bought the game for multiplayer, but a surprising number have completed the single-player campaign as well. Battlefield 6 launched in October to a great deal of success, earning mostly positive reviews and proving to be a massive sales hit for EA. Hundreds of thousands of people continue to play Battlefield 6 on Steam daily, and there are ambitious plans for the game's post-launch support. View the full article

  11. Last week, AMD released version 25.10.2 of its Adrenalin driver package for Radeon GPUs. It seemed like a relatively routine driver release with a typical list of bug fixes and game performance improvements, except for one accompanying announcement: AMD said at the time that it would be moving support for Radeon RX 5000-series and 6000-series GPUs (and their RDNA 1 and RDNA 2 architectures) to “maintenance mode.” That meant that a bunch of GPUs, including some dedicated graphics cards launched as recently as 2022, would no longer get fresh fixes and performance optimizations for newly launched games. As reported by Tom’s Hardware, AMD released several clarifying statements to address the ensuing backlash, saying that these older GPUs would still get “new features, bug fixes, and game optimizations” based on “market needs.” That must not have quieted the complaints, because AMD then made an entirely separate post to confirm that the 25.10.2 driver release “is not the end of support for RDNA 1 and RDNA 2,” and that integrated and dedicated GPUs based on these architectures would continue to receive “game support for new releases,” “stability and game optimizations,” and “security and bug fixes.” AMD did confirm that these older GPU architectures had been moved to a separate driver path, but the company says this is meant to keep fixes and features intended for newer RDNA 3 and RDNA 4-based GPUs from inadvertently breaking things for RDNA 1 and RDNA 2 GPUs. 13. The award-winning RPGPillars of Eternity is getting a surprising update 10 years later, which will significantly change how players experience the game. However, it was unknown when this would be implemented and when players would get to test it. View the full article
  14. Pillars of Eternity is the surprise recipient of a patch to add turn-based mode, developer Obsidian has announced. Fresh from releasing Avowed, Grounded 2, and The Outer Worlds 2 this year, the Microsoft-owned studio has gone back to its isometric, party-based fantasy RPG over a decade after it came out with a fresh update. Obsidian announced a new public beta for Pillars of Eternity opens on November 5 for players on Steam and Xbox PC, which adds the turn-based mode. The reveal comes alongside a message from game director Josh Sawyer (last seen directing Pentiment), with his thoughts on what turn-based mode means for Pillars of Eternity. “Fans who enjoyed experimenting with turn-based mode in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will find familiar ground here, but with key improvements shaped by your feedback,” Obsidian said in a blog post. More details are below. How turn-based mode works in Pillars of Eternity:Unbound Turns: All turns are now influenced by a character’s overall speed, improving the value of Real-Time with Pause attributes and mechanics.Smarter Free Actions: Actions like swapping weapons, drinking potions, or enabling modals are now free actions. Each free action is limited to one per turn per type for balance.Faster Pacing: Combat lethality has been significantly increased for both enemies and players to keep battles tense and impactful.Mode Flexibility: You can choose Turn-Based Mode alongside difficulty when starting a new game — or swap freely between Real-Time with Pause and Turn-Based Mode in the game options. We’re also investigating a direct HUD toggle for even more convenience. As this is a public beta, please expect bugs and ongoing adjustments, Obsidian warned. The beta will run for “some time” as the developer continues to roll out updates and prepares for a full release. IGN’s Pillars of Eternity review returned a 9/10 back in 2015. We said at the time: “Obsidian (and its Kickstarter backers) have done it: Pillars of Eternity is one of the best RPGs since Baldur's Gate.” Obsidian followed PoE up with Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire in 2018, before Microsoft bought the company later that year. Obsidian went on to release the likes of The Outer Worlds and Grounded, and has become one of the most prolific Xbox Games Studios developers Microsoft has on its books. Will there be a Pillars of Eternity 3? Sawyer has commented on the prospect in the past. In 2023, for example, Sawyer said he would love to develop Pillars of Eternity 3 — under the condition the game receives the same budget as Baldur's Gate 3. "I think if it truly was an unlimited budget, I think I would try Pillars 3 because I know what the budget was for Deadfire, which was not a whole lot and I have heard from multiple people what the budget was for Baldur’s Gate 3, and I’m not gonna talk about numbers, but if I got that budget, sure, I’ll make Pillars 3,” he said. Sawyer added that if he were to make Pillars 3, he would employ a turn-based combat structure. Obsidian has yet to announce its next game. Wesley is Director, News at IGN. As a result, a post cropped up on the Possessor(s)'s discussions page on Steam with some expressing discomfort at the idea of buying the game post-layoffs, prompting the game's narrative director to explain why he (understandably) would still like it if you bought it.
