  1. Requisition VR: Hunt & Extract, a PvPvE extraction shooter where you duct tape items to form new weapons, gets its SteamVR relaunch today. Following its full Steam release in 2023, you may recall that physics-based co-op game Requisition VR received a major revamp with July's Quest launch. Turning this into a PvPvE (player vs. player vs. environment) extraction shooter with a post-apocalyptic setting, this new edition is out later today on PC VR. Hunt & Extract maintains the original game's crafting system, where you use duct tape to combine objects like sticks, cleavers, and more for new weapons. Environmental traps are also available but can attract zombie hordes, and you team up with friends to defeat AI and human opponents alike. Any loot obtained during these runs is then used to upgrade your base and weapons. Stating it's been rebuilding Requisition VR “from the ground up” across the last two years, developer Spheroom describes Hunt & Extract as “an entirely new game” that initially began as an update. Later becoming a “full-on reinvention,” the studio confirmed it's launching a separate edition to preserve the original version for its fans. Requisition VR: Hunt & Extract is out today on PC VR, and it's live now on Quest. Owners of the original Requisition VR can also claim the new game for free via the official Discord server. 4. Arc Raiders' first major update, North Line, launches tomorrow, November 13. Live from 1.30am PT (4.30am ET / 9.30am GMT / 10.30am CET), the new update introduces a whole new region north of the Rust Belt called Stella Montis, described as "cold, pristine, and filled with the remnants of humanity's lost ambitions." Ouch. "Raiders who complete its challenges will recover rare resources, new gameplay items, and potential weapon blueprints hidden in the ruins, revealing the next step in the struggle to reclaim the surface," developer Embark Studios teased. "Access to Stella Montis must first be earned — the tunnels leading to the new region will only open once the global community completes Breaking New Ground. Talking of which, Breaking New Ground is a new community unlock event where players must work together to restore the tunnels to Stella Montis, earning new event currency, Merits, as they go. It goes live at the same time as the new content unlocks, complete with new challenges as the community works towards revealing the next frontier and triggering the Staking Our Claim Phase II. Don't hang around, though — this new track will only be available until December. That's not all, either. Embark has confirmed we'll also get to meet two new enemies, "each bringing distinct challenges to the surface." The Matriarch — described as a "hulking ARC that makes the Queen look friendly by comparison"— will appear under specific map conditions and will be available from the start of Breaking New Ground. The Shredder, however, will be exclusive to Stella Montis and will only emerge once the new region opens, "forcing Raiders to stay sharp in close-quarters encounters." To take them on, players can make use of the new Energy Burst Battle Rifle, a set of new Mines — Impulse, Timed, and Gas Jump — as well as fresh Playstyles Lone Wolf and Trailblazer, and all-new Questlines themed around Stella Montis. "The North Line is just the beginning of Arc Raiders’ post-launch roadmap," Embark concluded. "The next update, Cold Snap, arrives this December – introducing the Flickering Flames event, new snowfall Map Condition, the awaited Expedition Project Raider reset, and more." The North Line update goes live alongside revised cosmetic prices, which are reduced following a player backlash. Duo matchmaking silently went live earlier this week, Embark confirmed. "Arc Raiders raises the bar for extraction shooters pretty much across the board, with an incredibly gripping progression grind, tense fights against NPCs and other players that make for memorable matches, and loot that feels completely worth all the work and stress it takes to obtain it," we wrote in IGN's Arc Raiders review, which returned an 'Amazing' 9/10. We're not the only ones who are having a good time with Arc Raiders, despite the controversy around its use of AI. Arc Raiders has now sold over 4 million copies worldwide less than two weeks since its release date, cementing its commercial success. Nexon also revealed that the extraction shooter had reached a huge concurrent count of 700,000 players across all platforms. 5. Surprise! Arc Raiders is cutting the prices of its store cosmetics, and will refund anyone who snapped them up before the new price goes into effect tomorrow, November 13. In an update on the official Arc Raiders website, developer Embark Studios said it has "heard [player] feedback," writing: "We’ve reviewed our prices and made adjustments to lower prices where applicable." Revised prices go live tomorrow, November 13, at 1.30am PT / 4.30am ET / 9.30am GMT). "For any Raider who has already made a purchase on the old pricing, we’ll compensate you for the difference. These Raider Tokens will be refunded back into your account automatically in the coming week." The team stopped short of revealing the new prices, or how big the discounts will be. Nonetheless, it should be good news for players, some of whom have been unhappy at the costs, complaining that the premium skins cost "half [the] price of the game" itself. That's not the only big news we've had today, either. Embark also confirmed it has been "silently testing" duo matchmaking and has indeed enabled it earlier this week. "We have silently tested and enabled duo prioritized matchmaking, beginning earlier this week," the team explained. "Duo matchmaking will work like this: first, we prioritize Solos and Squads to play separately. After that, we prioritize Duos to play with other Duos, and for Trios to play with Trios. Please note that this is not a 100% guaranteed system, so you may at times run into differing constellations of players other than your own." Finally, while there's currently one free Raider Deck available for all, in the future players will see both free and premium decks. As the team explained, gameplay Items are only in free Raider Decks, but to "help you along the way as a new Raider, we have included some gameplay Items in the free Raider Deck, which can be unlocked via progression." There are also "no pay-to-win items in the premium Raider Decks," Embark insisted, saying the "focus" for premium Decks is based on "cosmetics and convenience." Don't forget that Arc Raiders' first major update, North Line, launches tomorrow, November 13. The new update introduces a whole new region north of the Rust Belt called Stella Montis, described as "cold, pristine, and filled with the remnants of humanity's lost ambitions." It'll introduce a whole new region, new community unlock event, two new ARCs — Matriarch and Shredder – as well as new weapons, playstyles, and quests. The next update, Cold Snap, arrives this December. "Arc Raiders raises the bar for extraction shooters pretty much across the board, with an incredibly gripping progression grind, tense fights against NPCs and other players that make for memorable matches, and loot that feels completely worth all the work and stress it takes to obtain it," we wrote in IGN's Arc Raiders review, which returned an 'Amazing' 9/10. 6. Arc Raiders is very much the current hotness in shooterland; at least, if you're not glued to Battlefield 6. Embark Studios' approachable take on the often-unforgiving extraction shooter has seen players head to Speranza in their droves. Some target everything that moves, while others take the diplomatic route and forge temporary alliances with nearby players. Regardless of your playstyle in the multiplayer game, you're going to need to start piling up some serious resources. As part of the freshly announced North Line update, which promises a brand-new map, some terrifying Arc enemies, and more, Embark has revealed its first global community event, Breaking New Ground, which requires you and your fellow raiders to pool your loot into a mass-rebuilding effort. 7. The AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D is official, and it means you can now grab an AMD CPU that includes the company's revolutionary game performance-enhancing 3D V-Cache technology and works on modern AM5 motherboards for its lowest ever price. That means you can build an up-to-date gaming PC using DDR5 RAM that will beat an Intel 14600K system by as much as 111fps in some games. AMD's X3D processors have consistently topped our best gaming CPU chart since they first arrived with the Ryzen 5800X3D. However, they've always demanded a significant premium over conventional Ryzen CPUs, and while that is still the case with the new Ryzen 5 7500X3D, it marks a new low price point for the range on the AM5 platform. 10. Escape From Tarkov is known as a hardcore extraction shooter, but its difficulty changes with each and every wipe. These changes - like requiring quest items to be found in raid or adding Marathon-style tasks that require you to travel in-raid to a new location - change the difficulty of the extraction shooter for better or for worse. But now, as Tarkov approaches its 1.0 launch, Battlestate Games's COO, Nikita Buyanov, has confirmed in our recent interview that he wants the game's identity at launch to remain challenging, but fair. 21. Bond Stars are arguably the most important currency to find in Inazuma Eleven Victory Road, and they will allow you to get new characters. Once you obtain Bond Stars inside the game, you'll be able to use them in the Chronicle Mode to unlock new characters. Here's the catch, however, you can't get Bond Stars from Chronicle Mode. This guide will help you earn the Bond Stars and then use them to get the new characters. Table of contentsHow to get Bond Stars in Inazauma Elevent Victory RoadHow to use Bond Stars in Inazuma Eleven Victory RoadHow to get Bond Stars in Inazauma Elevent Victory Road While you can use Bond Stars in the Chronicle Mode, you'll have to play the Competition Mode to earn them. The easiest way to get Bond Stars is by playing online matches against other players. Both ranked and casual lobby matches qualify for this. Screenshot by Destructoid Once you complete an online match, you'll get Bond Stars irrespective of the results. As of writing, I have yet to find any other way of obtaining Bond Stars outside the online matches. Thankfully, you don't need to win an online match if you're looking to earn Bond Stars. How to use Bond Stars in Inazuma Eleven Victory Road Once you have earned Bond Stars, you can use them in the Chronicle Mode. Just follow the step-by-step methods to complete the process. Open the Chronicle Mode from the main menu.Select Player Universe.Open a constellation you like, and unlock a node. Once you unlock the node, you'll obtain spirits of any character that's available inside that node. Screenshot by Destructoid To use the Bond Stars, you'll need at least five of them. You can always check the complete list of spirits by clicking on Available Characters from the bottom-right corner of the screen. I would always advise you to do this before spending the Bond Stars. Every node has a pool of Common, Rare and Hero characters. The odds of obtaining the spirit of a high-tier character are significantly less. The spirit you get will be handed to you at random (think like a gacha). Screenshot by Destructoid If you're looking to find a specific character, use the Constellation Search feature. You can search either by Team Dock or by their names. The search results will come up with all the nodes that feature your desired character.
