Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Master Crafted Editionseems like a misstep in the eyes of many Warhammer fans on Steam. Having just released earlier this week, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Master Crafted Editionis a remaster of the original 2011 third-person action gorefest that promises a host of new improvements, like 4K resolution, remastered audio, and better-looking character models, among other visual enhancements. While Space Marine's campaign is the main course, the remaster also comes complete with the original game's online multiplayer suite and even the four-player co-op Exterminatus horde mode. I understand the appeal of Escape From Tarkov, Arma, Gray Zone Warfare, and all the other hyper-punishing, realistic FPS games out there, but I also find them strangely unconvincing. When the pattern of gameplay is spawn, die, spawn, die, spawn, die, it feels less like I'm in the middle of a real, all-out battle, and more like I'm just playing a videogame. Nevertheless, I like the steep difficulty and the pretense of realism - loud guns, bullet physics, and a grounded, boots-and-mud aesthetic. Shadow of the Erdtree introduced so many incredible and powerful weapons, spells, consumables, and more to Elden Ring, but there's one item in particular I think every single spellcaster build needs to incorporate. The Lulling Branch is a Shadow of the Erdtree consumable that will change the way you approach FP management, and tracking down the crafting recipe as soon as possible is well worth it. If you are struggling to maintain FP and are sick of burning through Starlight Shards like they're going out of style, Lulling Branches are the perfect solution. View the full article
The Stellaris Wilderness open beta has just begun, as developer Paradox trials potential changes to the best new origin in the space strategy game. Introduced with Stellaris Biogenesis, Wilderness allows you to inhabit a sentient planet that gradually spreads its biomass to other stars. There are many terrifying foes in Elden Ring Nightreign, from standard enemies all the way up to the imposing Nightlords. But one in particular seems to give many Nightfarers pause, or even cause them to turn and flee. It's the Bell Bearing Hunter. Now, if you've only started Elden Ring Nightreign, this could be confusing. The standard boss version of the Bell Bearing Hunter is someone you can potentially fight early on, at the conclusion of the first night while hunting the Nightlord Tricephalos. He's also a returning fight from Elden Ring proper, so you'd assume returning players would have him figured out. But in Elden Ring Nightreign, bosses can spawn both at night's end and in the field, and pack more punch than they previously did in Elden Ring. And this version of Bell Bearing Hunter seems to be doing some real damage. I really thought yall were joking on Bell Bearing Hunter byu/Hotfrogs77 inNightreign .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } Players have been putting in hundreds upon hundreds of runs since Elden Ring Nightreign came out, and while there's certainly been discussion over which bosses are the best or most difficult, the Bell Bearing Hunter comes up pretty often. Specifically, when he's in the castle. As one post notes, he seems more powerful when he has a roof over his head? Maybe he got a good night's rest. Why tf is the bell bearing hunter so strong byu/Ayanelixer inEldenring .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } Different variants can also cause problems, and the Bell Bearing Hunter can also sometimes appear in other locations, too. The boss is already fairly intimidating, with a sword that he can swing in close range or wield, seemingly telekinetically, at long ranges. But in the castle? He's got some aura. What seeing Bell Bearing Hunter in the castle feels like byu/TheBigMungis inNightreign .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } Not all hope is lost, though. One Redditor has discovered some new tech that most have probably never thought to try, that could thwart the Bell Bearing Hunter in his tracks. Or at least keep him walking in place long enough to wail on him. This user seems to have put the Bell Bearing Hunter into a permanent walk cycle by just, uh, walking at him and guarding. So taunting him into defeat, with some ranged help, might actually work? Resident Evil 9, formally titled Requiem, is on the way. There's a remake of the original Silent Hill coming, and Alien Isolation 2 is officially in development. All things considered, when it comes to long-running or well-loved horror game series, the future looks bright - or rather, choked in shadow, dripping with blood, and deliciously ominous. But The Callisto Protocol, Striking Distance's spiritual Dead Space successor from 2022, deserves another chance. I'm not going to tell you it's one of gaming's great, unappreciated gems. I won't lie that the middle section in particular struggles with repetition and limp scares, and that there are some clumsy combat moments. Dave Bautista and his production company Dogbone Entertainment are set to develop Steve Lerner’s new story Cat Assassin for a new franchise that will include animated series, video games, and steps into the publishing space. Lerner is the writer behind the beloved Annapurna Interactive game Stray. Bautista, who has enjoyed enormous post-WWE success with the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy, Dune, and Blade Runner 2049, will have creative input on the franchise, which will be developed alongside Titan1Studios. Here's the official blurb on Cat Assassin: Set in a gritty neo-noir world inhabited by anthropomorphized cats of all types, Cat Assassin centers on Hugh, a highly skilled assassin caught between various cartels and power brokers in a dark and twisted city. The franchise promises a unique blend of humor, action, and stealth. “It’s been a pleasure collaborating with Titan1Studios on Cat Assassin,” Bautista said in a statement. “Their ability to build worlds through animation has been so impressive and they’ve created a truly unique world in this game that I can’t wait to share with players.” Titan1Studios is currently working on a stealth action game for the franchise, said to be inspired by “the immersive gameplay of Assassin’s Creed, the tactical espionage of Splinter Cell, the immersive feline agility of Stray, and the fluid combat of Sifu” and “set the tone for the expansive universe that will soon follow.” Lex Briscuso is a film and television critic and a freelance entertainment writer for IGN. PlayStation 5 has been Sony's "most profitable generation" for its consoles to date, the company confirmed in a business meeting today. The PS5 has generated $136 billion in sales for Sony thus far, creating an operating income of $13 billion, both of which are an increase from the PS4, which generated $107 billion in sales and $9 billion in operating income. And so, of course, this means the PlayStation will be back again for another round of console gaming goodness. Screenshot by Destructoid The PlayStation 6, or whatever Sony decides to call it, is still a couple of years out, at least. While the company did not give any specifics during the presentation, it did hint at what to expect for its next generation. "Our console business has evolved into a multi-faceted platform, and we now have a large ecosystem of highly engaged players across both the PS5 and PS4 generations, so naturally, there's a huge interest in our next-generation console strategy," CEO Hideaki Nishino said. "While we cannot share further details at this stage, the future of the platform is top of mind. We are committed to exploring a new and enhanced way for players to engage with our content and services." For the first time ever, there are more monthly active users on PS5 than PS4, Sony confirmed during the presentation, and 38 percent of all users are subscribed to PlayStation Plus Premium or Extra, the two higher-cost tiers of the online service. In short, Sony says that things are looking good for PS5, looking ahead to exclusive games like Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for 2025. Beyond, it touted Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and Marvel's Wolverine as two more big single-player titles on the way, along with upcoming live service titles Marathon and Fairgame$ as more reasons to buy into the PlayStation ecosystem. Beyond that, however, we may be looking at the beginnings of the PS6 generation sometime in 2027 or 2028. The post Sony says PS5 is now more profitable than any PlayStation console before it, and PS6 is on the way appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article

If you've been playing as Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign and are totally lost as to what weapons you should be looking for, you're not alone. Revenant is a Necromancer and/or Summoner class in Nightreign, and her starting weapons imply that Claws and Sacred Seals are a good fit. This is partially true, as Revenant's Faith attribute is the highest of all the Nightfarers, making Incantations cast via Sacred Seals incredibly effective. However, while Revenant's starting Claws are great for her, it's primarily because they scale with Faith, not because they are Claws. View the full article
