Rematch developer Sloclap has confirmed its game will not have crossplay at launch. Rematch is a 5v5 online multiplayer arcade soccer game played from a third-person perspective. Its recent beta was hugely popular, with 1.9 million taking part across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The beta hit a concurrent player peak of 175,000 across platforms, staying in the top five most-played Steam games every day it was available. In a tweet, Sloclap said crossplay between Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox won’t be available for Rematch at launch. The game is available to play now, three days early, for those who pay more for the Elite or Pro Edition, but the official release date is this Thursday, 19 June. However, crossplay is “one of our top priorities for upcoming updates,” Sloclap insisted. “We'll share an ETA as soon as possible, stay tuned!” The lack of crossplay at launch for a competitive multiplayer game released in 2025 has come as a surprise to fans, some of whom have expressed their disappointment. “Well that's a shame,” said redditor MajesticZed, “was hoping to play with friends on a different platform. Guess I'll just wait to buy it until they implement it then.” Some who were planning to play via PC Game Pass were particularly disappointed by the news, given it means they cannot play with Steam players because of the lack of crossplay. “What a joke,” said redditor schumacher01. “Ah man, this is a bummer,” added Natemcb. “Ruins the plans of me and my group playing until they add it.” Damn rip to the homies [Hidden Content] — Covent (@ChrisCovent) June 16, 2025 Some are now saying they’ve refunded their preorders. “Okay that’s very disappointing, I'm refunding the game,” Peatrex said. “The whole point was to play with friends.” Given Rematch is an online multiplayer game, you can see why some who were looking forward to its release would be disappointed by the lack of crossplay. But Sloclap has said crossplay is a priority, so hopefully it’s added to the game sooner rather than later. Wesley is Director, News at IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. Perhaps one day, we'll look back at Mindseye and remember it with a strange affection, a flawed, curious sandbox shooter that felt - albeit inadvertently - plucked from a bygone era. The hype, the bugs, the hubris of it all. Maybe, in time, we'll forget about all the large and small annoyances. Like Aliens Colonial Marines, Assassin's Creed Unity, and the launch week of Cyberpunk 2077, we will think only of how Mindseye, in its bizarre own way, briefly unified and humored the entire gaming world. But that is for the future. Right now, Mindseye reviews have afflicted it with an ignominious new title. Build A Rocket Boy's debut is the worst-rated game of 2025 so far. One of the biggest updates Phasmophobia has ever seen is arriving soon, and it promises to entirely rework everything we know about the game. If you want to jump into the Chronicle update as soon as possible, you need to know the precise release date and time for it. We don't see fresh Phasmophobia updates super often, so it's always an exciting time when new content is released. This is by far one of the most expansive updates we've had in a long time, as a new equipment item and evidence overhaul are sure to completely reshape how this game is played. There's a lot to look forward to, so here’s the exact time and date when the Phasmophobia Chronicle update will be released. Table of contentsPhasmophobia Chronicle update release date and timePhasmophobia Chronicle update featuresPhasmophobia Chronicle update release date and time Image via Kinetic Games The Chronicle update for Phasmophobia will officially launch on June 24 across all platforms. An exact release time hasn't been shared yet, but similar to past updates and events, it will likely become available fairly early in the day. Based on the most recent updates and events that have launched, 7am CT/12pm UTC is the most likely time it will be released. The devs do sometimes run into delays when releasing fresh content, so there's a chance it may be released later than anticipated. It's also possible that a different launch time may be shared close to release, so if it is, we'll update our countdown here to reflect any changes. For now, we've set our countdown to precisely 7am CT so you can check back here leading up to release to see how much longer there is to wait before the update is available. We've also listed the launch time across major time zones if you're interested in learning the anticipated launch time for your region. This update includes the Sound Recorder, a journal overhaul, evidence rework, and much more. Here's a breakdown of all key update features. Sound Recorder – A new type of equipment that can be used to capture audio evidence. It has three Tiers, with each Tier becoming progressively better for investigations. You can use this powerful item to record audio in just about any situation, whether it be capturing Spirit Box responses or eerie ghost event sounds. Reworked evidence collection – Evidence is about to get a lot more rewarding and accurate. The labeling system will now properly identify what you've captured and reward you with the money you deserve. The first instance of evidence captured for any media is now considered unique, and grants lots of cash and XP at the end of the round. Journal overhaul – The photos tab is being replaced with a more general media tab to include the collection of audio and video evidence alongside basic photographs. Other changes – This update also has some smaller changes we don't know much about yet, including updated leveling and progression systems and a new main menu UI. It seems like the truck might be getting a makeover, too, since one of the key images that's been shared for this update has a new screen and various other mystery items on display. Image via Kinetic Games To learn more about this upcoming overhaul, you may want to review the Chronicle update patch notes. After this update is live, there are even more exciting additions beyond it we can look forward to with Horror 2.0, the biggest Phasmophobia update yet, finally in development, and the Grafton Farmhouse rework slated for release sometime before the end of 2025. If, like me, you went to Pokémon Go Fest last year and got a Shiny Furfrou and held on to it until Feb. 14 to change its form into the Heart Trim form, you woke up disappointed that morning, as the developers didn't give us the elusive trim. Heart Trim Furfrou can only be acquired on Valentine's Day, and while in previous years, the developers haven't missed a beat to give trainers the chance to get it, this year was the exception, where the Pokémon form was not available at all, leaving me and other trainers pretty dismayed. So when I got a chance to interview Pokémon Go's Director, Michael Steranka, about why Scopely had missed the Pokémon form this year, I needed to know what happened. Was it a mistake? Held back on purpose? What was going on? As it turned out. Steranka didn't even know why the form was missing. At least from what we could tell regarding his answer. "I probably don't have much I can say on that one without chatting with our design team to understand the intent there," Stewranka told Destructoid. "We do try to make sure that we're not leaving things predictable, you know, in the game, because that can also be a little bit boring. But yeah, definitely heard and saw the feedback, and we'll look for other opportunities to bring those types of exclusives back to the game." I tried to push Steranka for more information, asking if there were any plans for any kind of makeup event or if the Scopely deal was a cause for the missed opportunity, but Steranka was quick to shoot all of those down, telling Destructoid "definitely not," but that "like anything in the game, it will come back [eventually]." Considering there are other Pokémon that Niantic seems to hold for specific events, or only let a Shiny Pokémon appear at certain times, such as Shiny Smeargle during the Festival of Colors. I also wanted to press Steranka on the team's decisions to gatekeep certain Pokémon around these events, especially when those events don't return and the Pokémon, like Heart Trim Furfrou, appear lost to time. "We never try to hold things for specific events only, but there are some times where you know it makes sense to bring it out. And sometimes that does end up being that same event," Steranka said. "But similar with Shiny Smeargle, we never thought of that as something that should only be a part of Festival of Colors, but whenever it has sort of thematic relevance." Closing out the question, I asked if it was now a case where a Pokémon, or Form, or Shiny that hasn't appeared in a while would only come out, as Steranka mentioned, when it makes sense to happen. And that the team won't feel forced to make it happen based on fan feedback if it doesn't make sense, with Steranka giving a resounding "yes" as his response. Elden Ring Nightreign has clawed its way up to a 'very positive' Steam rating, less than a month after it debuted to a 'mixed' reception on Valve's platform. Players have had a range of issues with Nightreign since release, like unfair solo play and a lack of a duo option, but finally appear to be coming around to the co-op RPG. Thankfully, Fromsoftware is quick to fix these issues, which seems to be helping the roguelike spinoff recover. I wouldn't be surprised if the reception continues to improve, then.
