  1. Arthur Morgan actor Roger Clark has recently confirmed on Twitter that he knows what the important upcoming Red Dead Redemption news is about. For a few days now, players have been wondering what Rockstar will announce for the massively popular Red Dead Redemption series due to some comments made by John Marston’s actor—and now Clark has stirred the pot even more. 2. We've jumped around the Call of Duty ****** Ops timeline a fair bit already - the six games we've had so far have taken us from the Cold War to the year 2070 and back again, plus several spots in between. The upcoming ****** Ops 7 lands on a near-future point between ****** Ops 2 (which was set in 2025) and ****** Ops 3 (which played out across the late 2060s), and clearly features lots of advanced tech, judging by last week's reveal trailer. This setting, combined with leaks and rumors, has led to many people theorizing and hoping that an advanced, ****** Ops 3-style movement system would return for BO7. However, it's now been confirmed that there won't be that big of a gameplay leap, movement-wise, from ****** Ops 6 to ****** Ops 7, with no wall-running or jetpacks. However, it will feature an "evolution of Omnimovement." Read the rest of the story... 4. If, like me, you ended up keeping a bit of an eye on MindsEye once its release popped into view like a weird mind portal, you might remember one of the execs behind it causing a fuss with some Discord comments alleging bots were being used to bad mouth the game. Well, in a twist that'd be strange for other games, but feels pretty par the course for this one, developer Build A Rocket Boy's now denied that it's been using bots to say nice things about MindsEye. This wasn't totally out of the blue. Some folks had spotted some posts about the game with suspiciously similar wording. Read more View the full article
  5. The Path of Exile Secrets of the Atlas launch has largely marked a successful return for the free Steam ARPG, but it's not without issues. While it works on the next PoE 2 update, developer Grinding Gear Games addresses some of the disruptions affecting the Diablo rival's new season. It also lays out a handful of balance changes, with nerfs incoming for overpowered mercenary skills that are blowing up players in an instant, and some buffs for memory skills. 6. On Steam and other aggregators, Mindseye reviews remain relatively unenthusiastic. The debut game from Build A Rocket Boy, the studio created by former GTA, Red Dead Redemption, and Rockstar producer Leslie Benzies, Mindseye has been criticized by both players and publications, which cite issues with technical performance, repetitive mechanics, and uninteresting visual design. However, on some platforms, including social media, posts have appeared that have a more positive timbre, likening Mindseye to the launch version of Cyberpunk 2077 and praising the game's narrative premise. In several instances, these posts have the exact same wording and punctuation, and are characteristic of bot-generated comments uploaded by fake accounts. In response to suggestions that it has engineered these posts to spread favorable sentiment about Mindseye, Build A Rocket Boy emphatically says it does not and will not use bots. 7. You don't often see a gaming laptop for a price this low, while still offering a decent spec, but this $648 MSI gaming laptop deal genuinely delivers the goods. Not only does it contain a proper Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 gaming GPU, but it even includes a fast 144Hz screen, 16GB of RAM, and an Intel Core i5 CPU. You'll have to be quick, though, as Walmart says there are only a few left in stock. The laptop version of the Nvidia GPU in this MSI Thin laptop is quite unusual, as it contains the same core spec as the desktop GeForce RTX 4060, whereas you usually expect the laptop models to have a lesser spec. That's not the case here, though, with the GPU in this laptop giving you 3,072 CUDA cores and 8GB of dedicated GDDR6 VRAM, just like the desktop card - the only difference is that the laptop model has lower clock speeds. I've seen this laptop's price drop below $700 before, but I've never seen it go this cheaply before, making it one of the best gaming laptop deals I've seen. Read the rest of the story... 8. Date Everything is all about meeting characters around your house. From your bed, walls, and windows to items scattered around, there are a whole lot of people to talk to, including a mysterious entity, Shadowlord. This one may be peculiar, but it's also pretty funny. Table of contentsShadowlord location in Date EverythingHow to romance, befriend, and hate Shadowlord in Date EverythingShadowlord location in Date Everything There are a few ways you can learn about Shadowlord. Phoenica and Maggie will both give hints about his existence, telling you there is a permanent, unnatural shadow within the house that seems out of place. With this hint in mind, you can find and meet Shadowlord by interacting with the shadow cast by the globe in your living room. Within the same area where you met Maggie during the tutorial, you'll find a room with a piano, fireplace, and a globe next to a door, with an especially dark shadow on the floor. Interacting with this will summon Shadowlord, known ingame as xxXShadowl0rd420Xxx. Screenshot by Destructoid You can interact with Shadowlord at any time during the day. Although he'll suggest visiting during the night, you can spot the globe's shadow at any time, allowing you to interact in the morning, afternoon, or night, depending on your preference. How to romance, befriend, and hate Shadowlord in Date Everything After meeting Shadowlord, he'll initially appear in your Date-A-Dex at number 97 as "xxXShadowl0rd420Xxx." Like other dateables in Date Everything, you can achieve a friendship, love, or hate ending with Shadowlord that influences your interactions. Regardless of the route you go, you can advance your relationship status with Shadowlord by talking to him each day. Visit him regularly to learn more about him and respond to his stories in any way you wish. Beyond this, how you react is entirely up to what ending you're going for. Screenshot by Destructoid Your first option is to romance Shadowlord and become lovers. As he recounts his backstory about the Great Cataclysm, Dark Armaments, and past comrades, engage with his stories and ask for more information. Occasionally, you'll find flirtatious options to pick. As you talk to him more, he'll open up to you, revealing his true identity along the way. Once he does, continue showing care in a loving way, and he'll eventually start to love you. If you prefer befriending Shadowlord, be friendly toward him without making any flirtatious remarks. Your interactions will be mostly the same as the romance route, with you being interested in his stories and empathetic toward his past. However, you won't make romantic advances like you would in the first route. Lastly, you can get Shadowlord to hate you. Throughout your time with him, you can express complete disinterest in his story, telling him that the interactions *****, and even call him a loser. Anything disrespectful toward him will eventually lead to him hating you. Although this sounds bad at first, it can at least lead to some unexpected outcomes, depending on which other dateables you've met. 9. Speedrunners are already breaking FNAF: Secret of the Mimic mere days after release, with some even beating the game in four minutes, proving once and for all that when it comes to the speedrunning community, anything is possible. Of course, the legendary small time is only made possible by a glitch, but it's still pretty fascinating to see how it's done, and also, how quickly speedrunners were able to find out this information so quickly after the game's initial release. [Hidden Content] For the initial three minutes, you play the game normally. Get out of your truck, enter the gate, and enter the facility to watch the opening musical performance. It's only after you finally get into the backrooms that the game shows its glitchy secrets. Players discovered that by going into a locker next to a specific mascot costume, you can perform a glitch where the player exits and reenters the locker, forcing the player's model into the air. Once in the air, by pausing the game in a specific way, the game will shoot you into the ceiling and start to load a different part of the game entirely, which so happens to be the final chase sequence through the burning facility at the end of the good ending of the game. It's pretty wild to see this happen and be done so easily, with most speedrunners trying to get a world record in the margin of seconds at the time of writing. We expect the developers to patch out this amazing glitch that has led to the game being speedrun so quickly in a alter patch, but for now it's pretty easy to replicate and can be performed by pretty much anyone with some basic instructions. Letting you get the achievement for beating the game before going against any of the game's major bosses, from Big Top to the Mimic itself. 10. There are many unique characters you can meet around your house in Date Everything!, all of which are disguised as common household objects. Some of these characters are trickier to find than others, as they appear as items you may not know to check, as is the case with Doug. Doug is by far one of the toughest characters to meet and is maybe the single trickiest guy to track down. He's a really interesting Dateable to know, though, so here's how to find Doug in Date Everything!. Table of contentsWhere to find Doug (#98) in Date Everything! What is Doug in Date Everything? How to romance Doug in Date Everything!Where to find Doug (#98) in Date Everything! Screenshot by Destructoid You can awaken Doug by staring at the wall behind the stairs for 30 seconds with your Dateviators on. This process looks completely different from awakening all other Dateables around the house, so it's pretty tricky to solve and get done. Here are the exact steps you need to follow to find him. On the first floor, walk around to the back of the stairs near the dining room. Turn and face the yellow wall that's directly behind the stairs, as pictured above. Your exact location doesn't matter too much here, so just face the wall as directly as possible and you'll be fine. Equip your Dateviators and look at the wall. Do not press the interaction button while looking at this wall because it won't work. You cannot summon Doug by throwing hearts at him like you can for all other characters.Stare at the wall for a full 30 seconds without moving. As soon as 30 seconds have passed, Doug will appear in front of you so you can start chatting it up with him. Every time you wish to see Doug again, you have to follow these same three steps. He never appears any faster than 30 seconds, so patience is key for summoning him. He does sometimes seem to take a bit longer to appear, so just keep your character still and he'll eventually show. What is Doug in Date Everything? Doug is the personification of existential dread. He's less of an object and more of a concept, although he is tied to the one specific wall, so he's one of the most unique Dateables you can meet around the house. How to romance Doug in Date Everything! Screenshot by Destructoid If you want to achieve a love ending with Doug, you essentially need to stand up for yourself and not let him treat you badly. Going along with everything he says in an attempt to please him results in a friends (with benefits) ending, so be sure to get real with him and have some tough conversations if you are hoping to find love. You need to be nice at first, then once you know him a bit better, get more real with him. I recommend waiting to do so until around the conversation where he wants to watch cars crashing on Vidbucket. This is the best point to choose honesty if you want love rather than friendship with him. To find more Dateables you can romance, you may want to learn how to unlock the attic. This kid-friendly town explorer is both a low-stakes comic adventure and a commentary on living contentedly with a disability despite daily struggles. As the only T-posing kid in school, you are also the target of three bullies, whose mockery and mimickry give your teen pause before heading out the door to school. This is mainly a story of how those bullies come to understand your troubles and appreciate some of your more far-fetched abilities (turns out spinning very fast allows you to fly, like a helicopter - who knew!) But it also takes a dip into truly silly territory, becoming more of an outlandish movie and less of an actual "game" as things go on. Read more View the full article

  14. Director of the upcoming Elden Ring Movie, Alex Garland, is on his seventh playthrough of FromSoftware's epic fantasy RPG, and has revealed the boss he found the toughest to take down. Speaking to IGN ahead of the release 28 Years Later — the zombie apocalypse film he has written 23 years on from penning the first movie in the franchise — the Ex Machina and Civil War director revealed which of all of the famed foes in Elden Ring that he has settled on being the most difficult: Malenia, Blade of Miquella. “It's Malenia who's the tough one”, Garland explained. “I'm now on my seventh playthrough of that game. I've leveled up, I've got lots of juice, and a cool sword, and stuff like that, and I just throw myself at them again, and again, and again, and again.” “That was the technique I learned with Dark Souls," he continued. “It's not that you get better, it's more like monkeys and typewriters. You just keep doing it, and eventually, one day they're dead.” /www.instagram.com/p/DLBdKNBi8ig/embed But it turns out, Garland never had quite the trouble with Starscourge Radahn, instead offering his very own game help guide on how to take down the gravity magic-harnessing horseman. “Radahn's really easy”, stated Garland. “I thought Radahn was quite easy, because as long as you sort of activated the people who can assist you in that fight, they get on with fighting him, and they take off whatever it is, half his energy, and you finish him off. It's all about activating those little summon signs dotted around.” Can we expect either of these bosses to appear in A24's upcoming Elden Ring film adaptation? Well, as you may expect, Garland gave us no details on what he plans to do with the project. Indeed, we know next to nothing about the Elden Ring movie, which is in the works from Garland as writer and director, Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco, and A24. Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin, who helped create the original Elden Ring, is attached as a producer on the movie, as is Vince Gerardis. DNA’s Peter Rice will also produce, along with Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich from DNA. There’s no word yet on how involved FromSoftware or game director Hidetaka Miyazaki will be. What do you think the story of the Elden Ring movie should be? I, for one, think it would be smart to tackle a prequel based on the events of The Shattering, rather than the story of the game itself. 15. As you climb up the various ledges of PEAK, you'll eventually come across a jungle biome that spawns an abundance of different foods from bananas to honey, but certain creatures stand in your way. Bees, for example, have become pretty notorious. If you even get close to one of their hives, you'll be chased down by them and they will slowly chip away at your stamina and health, inflicting poison damage. Players have had a pretty hard time losing them due to their speed, though there is a way to deal with them. Somewhat. How to escape Bees in PEAK If you even get close to a hive, bees will begin to chase you in PEAK near instantly. You can use this opportunity to let your friends grab the hive for any food or achievements you are after, but once the bees are chasing you, be prepared to be on the run for a while. When I was testing this, the bees seemed to chase me for a random ******* of time at varying speeds. Sometimes they'd chase me for up to 30 seconds, but they were slow, so I could run away, whereas other times they were insanely fast and lasted for what seemed to be forever. There's no telling which one you will encounter, but it feels like bees are a bit bugged, at least from what I could tell. And even then, it feels like sometimes bees would disappear randomly, too. So, how I deal with them is pretty simple: if one is chasing me, I tend not to climb, as climbing is slow and bees chip away at me while I'm climbing, leading to my death. Instead I run around a large area where possible in circles, keeping my distance until I ever get far enough away from the bees that they give up, or they randomly despawn or get stuck inside a rock due to a glitch (yes, this has happened to me more times than I like to admit.) Once I had a bee follow me for what felt like way too long, only for them to disappear, and when I went back to the hive, there were no bees on it, so I took it and ran on the off chance they'd spawn back. It was a good day. So to sum it all up, if bees chase you, pray you have enough space to run around until they give up and create distance from them to de-aggro. Hope it helps! Folks were annoyed because they kept getting crushed to death by other players piloting an ornithopter (Dune's big flying bug vehicle). The same patch also addresses respawn times in PvP areas. Read more View the full article

  21. Relics are the potent items that can give your Nightfarer an extra boost on every run of Elden Ring Nightreign. There is also, as it turns out, a limit on just how many you can have stored up in your hideaway. One user on the r/Nightreign subreddit posted an image from their Elden Ring Nightreign game today, with a special message appearing over their attempts to start an expedition. "Cannot launch expedition: Too many relics in possession," read the message. "Please use the relic rite menu to sell off spares." You can't play if you have too many relics byu/Scufozzover1 inNightreign .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } The user u/Scufozzover1 didn't specify exactly how many they had, only ball-parking an estimate of "upwards of 1000 maybe." It's easy to theorize this might be related to a general 999 item limit, but unless you'd like to grind out that many relics, it's unclear where the limit actually is. There are plenty of reasons to clear out your relic storage, mostly for resources. Though if you're just playing run after run of Elden Ring Nightreign I could see losing track of just how many you've accrued. Comments in the thread have brought up an old critique of Elden Ring Nightreign: the need for relic management. As more relics flood in, it can become a little difficult to keep track of what's what, or adding additional filters that could better sift through the pile. It's already a bit of a hassle for me now, as I've built up a decent stockpile of basic relics, so I can't imagine what it's like for this Redditor and their apparent hundreds upon hundreds of relics. Maybe this won't be an issue for most players now, but as the weeks and months of Nightreign roll on, it might be worth keeping an eye on. At the very least, it's a good reminder to clean out your unused relics every now and then.
