A bunch of Borderlands 4 coverage has surfaced from the internet's soup pot like the bones of that beloved **** hamster you thought had escaped through the scullery. Quickly now, before your darling children see, let's sift through the remains in search of News. Well now! It turns out they're keeping the jokes to a relative minimum in this one. So says Taylor Clark, Borderlands 4's lead writer, in a chat about the game's lush dystopian setting. Read more View the full article
Even after eight patches and an overwhelming amount of content, there's still a lot missing from Baldur's Gate 3. Many things that were planned in Early Access were cut from the final release so Larian could focus on finishing the most important aspects of the game, so players may not be able to do everything they initially expected. BG3 is still a great finished product, but it hasn't stopped fans from noticing where certain areas fall short. View the full article

11 Bit Studios have a thing for circles. Their 2018 hit Frostpunk had you plant rings of buildings around a massive coal-fired generator in a frozen crater, picking research paths to steer your fully overlapping class/temperature Venn diagram of a city toward either fascism or theocracy. Frostpunk's radial design is hypnotic, putting across the theme of humanity versus the engulfing cold with claustrophobic symmetry, and 11-bit's later colony sims have struggled to either evolve the motif or depart from it. Frostpunk 2, for instance, shatters and smooshes the circle to form a district-based frostland republic that gets lost in its own chatter. The Alters is weirder than Frostpunk 2, and more successful. It tips the circle on one side. The crater city is now a wheel-shaped spacebase, strung with modular dwellings, which trundles across a landscape you will also explore on foot. It's one genre, the colony management sim, bowled through another, the third-person action-adventure. The game also develops Frostpunk's urban faction dynamics into a more intimate, tortured blend of psychological allegory and workplace soap opera, with the quirk that every member of that workplace is technically one and the same guy. Warner Bros. Games have enacted some corporate-mandated chair-rejigging after shuttering three studios earlier this year. The company are now divided into four divisions that'll be focusing on the four game series they want to do stuff with. As reported by Variety, these four bits will focus on making games about Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat, the DC Universe, and the wizard that I'm not going to bother naming. Well, this certainly makes me optimistic for the long-term future of Broken Arrow. Somewhere between Command and Conquer, Warno, and World in Conflict, from what I've played of the realistic RTS so far, it already feels like it could be one of the strongest in the genre. But even then, developer Steel Balalaika seemingly refuses to rest on any laurels. When Broken Arrow's advanced-access ******* began on Steam, players shared frustration that the game's skirmish mode wasn't playable in a 1v1 configuration - if you wanted to practice your strategies against the CPU, and get used to all the units outside of the campaign, you had to find multiplayer companions. Responding to those initial criticisms, Steel Balalaika has already overhauled its strategy debut. Read the rest of the story... We're now a couple of weeks into Dune Awakening's life, and the MMO is still hard at work refining its experience and (metaphorically speaking) shaking sand out of all the places it shouldn't be. However, one frustrating occurrence that has been almost impossible to prevent is getting squished by kamikaze ornithopter pilots, but the new Dune Awakening update that just dropped finally takes a swipe at it. It also makes adjustments to PvP respawn timers and fixes loads more bugs that have been plaguing the game. Read the rest of the story... RELATED LINKS: Is Dune Awakening down? An animated film based on Death Stranding has been announced. The film, which is a co-production between Kojima Productions and LA-based animation studio Line Mileage, doesn’t have a release date. The animated feature will be set in the Death Stranding universe, but doesn’t seem to be an adaptation of the original game’s story, according to Deadline. Aaron Guzikowski, who has served as a writer on both Raised by Wolves and Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners, is attached to the project. The film will reportedly seek to achieve a tone similar to that of Predator: Killer of Killers, a recently released animated project. Read More... View the full article
For quite some time now I have been hearing rumors; scattershot whispers, in hushed tones. The Digimon Story games, they've been saying, are good. Subtitles like Cyber Sleuth would crop up in lists and recommendations from good friends, but I would always brush them off a bit. It's Digimon—surely nostalgia was the driving force of these rumors, I thought, and the RPGs behind them were only worth playing if you could identify MegaKabuterimon in a lineup... Nvidia is reportedly lining up a new version of its flagship gaming GPU for release, with a lesser spec than the standard card. With strict US export restrictions on its most powerful tech, Nvidia has apparently developed a new version of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 with just 24GB of VRAM, rather than the 32GB on the standard card, which is likely to be aimed at the ******** market. One tech leaker has also alluded to "a surprise" with this graphics card, which we're hoping is a positive one. Apart from the memory and its interface, though, the core spec of this new Nvidia GPU looks very similar to the specs we tested in our GeForce RTX 5090 review. The new variation of Nvidia's best GPU could reportedly be called the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 DD, and is reportedly based on a variant of the GB202 GPU used in the standard 5090, called GB202-240-K*-A1, and it apparently keeps all the key parts enabled. Asus ROG has unveiled a new Astral RTX 5080 graphics card decked out with the coveted Dhahab treatment, meaning it contains full 24-carat gold. While pricing hasn't been confirmed, it's expected to cost less than its elusive gold RTX 5090 sibling, which has become nearly impossible to find at anything close to its MSRP. Both the GeForce RTX 5090 and the GeForce RTX 5080 sit on our list of the best graphics cards of 2025. The RTX 5080 in particular is a fantastic option for gamers on a budget, delivering great performance in our benchmark tests in Cyberpunk 2077 while being a fraction of the cost of the RTX 5090. Owning an RTX 5080 with the aesthetic of a gold brick would certainly be a flex over other Nvidia RTX 5080 owners, and it might be the next best thing for those who missed the boat on the gold 5090. However, a gold 5080 just doesn't carry the same prestige as a gold 5090, does it? This is where scalpers ruined everything. Read the rest of the story... Fortnite LEGO Expeditions might appear all cutesy at first, but you can come across deadly enemies of all types. If you're not healing in time, you can die quite a lot, which will ultimately lead to mission failure. While the mode offers respawn, there's an upper limit on how many times you can die and return. The respawn system is useful in desperate situations if your teammates can't save you in time with a revive. That said, the best solution is to not die in the first place, which is achievable when you manage to heal yourself. How do you heal yourself in Fortnite LEGO Expeditions? Like the OG modes, you can heal yourself with the help of consumables. Occasionally, you'll find an item with a red-colored body and a blue head. This item will be shown at the bottom right corner of your main screen (just like in the screenshot below). This item is known as Super Smoothie, which helps to recover your life when there are few HP left. Healing is simple: press the Q button, and your character will consume a smoothie and magically recover your health. However, you can take damage and die since there's a mini delay between consuming the item and restoring your health. Screenshot by Destructoid I have understood that it's best to heal yourself when you're far from the enemies. Avoid this advice if you're in a fight and about to lose your life. When rotating from one point to another on the map, check your health gauge at the bottom left corner and heal yourself. Per my understanding, no system auto-restorates health by default. How do you obtain Super Smoothie in Fortnite LEGO Expeditions? There are two main ways of obtaining this valuable item in Fortnite LEGO Expeditions (in a consistent fashion). Rescuing civilians: You'll come across trapped civilians randomly on the map. Rescuing them will reward you with the healing item and other resources like Essence.Random drops from enemies: Enemies will also drop the smoothie, aiding your survival. The drop rate is completely random. You can also get them from chests spawn across the map. So far, I haven't located too many chests on the maps, and some of them are hidden in tricky areas (making it hard for you to find them). To heal yourself, I would rather rely on eliminating enemies and saving civilians than go treasure-hunting. The post How to heal in Fortnite LEGO Expeditions appeared first on Destructoid. Peter Pan has officially arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Although the original Lost Boys aren't here for now, he'll eventually recreate a Dreamlight Valley version after unlocking and progressing through his storyline. Until then, we're venturing off into Skull Rock. How to find Peter Pan in Disney Dreamlight Valley You'll find Peter Pan inside Skull Rock after finishing the Forgotten's questline. After concluding the main storyline, you'll unlock the Forgotten's "A Forgotten Name" quest, letting you unlock them as a character and, later on, Peter Pan. Gameloft originally introduced this mission during the Mysteries of Skull Rock update and requires you to progress far enough into the main storyline to have met the Forgotten. If you've already reached this point in the story, you'll find A Forgotten Name in your quest log, ready to complete. However, there is a chance it won't appear right away. At the time of writing, there's a delay with the quest activating, requiring you to wait for it to randomly activate. If it hasn't appeared in your quest log, try restarting Disney Dreamlight Valley a couple of times. In most cases, that'll start the mission, letting you progress with the story. Skull Rock location Skull Rock is a large rock formation along the southeast side of Dazzle Beach. After entering the beach, turn toward the eastern half of the beach toward the small, circular island to the south that holds the seven orb pillars from the game's main story. You'll find Skull Rock next to this southern island that, as of the Mysteries of Skull Rock update, is now accessible to enter. Screenshot by Destructoid Depending on how far you are into other character's friendship quests, you'll have likely visited Skull Rock in the past. In particular, helping characters like Nala, Stitch, and Prince Eric will eventually lead to you finding this spot. You also needed to locate this landmark during the main storyline as you complete the Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place quest. Given how infrequently you visit it, it's easy to forget where it is and need a quick reminder. At the time of writing, limited information is known about each of Peter Pan's quests. We’ll continue to update this page with more details as they become available. The post How to unlock Peter Pan in Disney Dreamlight Valley appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
It's finally time to uncover the secrets inside Skull Rock in Disney Dreamlight Valley. To venture inside, you need to unlock and tackle the A Forgotten Name quest, which is a pretty tough one to work through. If you're struggling to acquire this quest or work through any of the steps included in it, we've got you covered. Here's a complete walkthrough for the A Forgotten Name quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsHow to get A Forgotten Name quest in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to complete A Forgotten Name in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to get A Forgotten Name quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid The A Forgotten Name quest seems to trigger randomly after you've completed all story quests featured in the main storyline. It seems to be a bit glitchy, as I had to reload the game around four times before it decided to appear. If you're not seeing this quest, close out of the game and reboot it entirely. Repeat this process until you get it to appear. If this still doesn't work, you may need to make sure you have all story quests done. How to complete A Forgotten Name in Disney Dreamlight Valley This guide is a work in progress and is receiving live updates as we work through this quest.
