  3. While there aren't too many campaign-exclusive challenges in the campaign mode of Battlefield 6, the Dog Tag collectibles are easily the most prominent, with 5 separate achievements tied to their acquisition. With several early game cosmetics locked behind them, it's a good idea to keep an eye out for these hidden collectibles, although they can be a bit hard to spot on your first run through the story. 4. Battlefield 6 has already made over $100 million in revenue on Steam alone, according to one industry analyst. Excitement around the game had reached a fever pitch in the months leading up to its release, with a wildly successful open beta driving expectations high after the disappointment of Battlefield 2042. It seems that gathering and responding to so much player feedback has paid off, as Battlefield 6 is off to a blistering start. View the full article

  7. The Outer Worlds 2 has reportedly crossed the development finish line, "going gold," and revealing its file size via Xbox pre-loads in the process. Sequel to developer Obsidian Entertainment's 2019 sci-fi RPG, The Outer Worlds 2 looks to improve on the original's gunplay as it takes players to a new corporate-owned star system named Arcadia. The original Outer Worlds game received a lot of praise and even became nominated for 2019's Game of the Year at The Game Awards, which has led to a ton of excitement surrounding its now imminent sequel. 9. Marvel actor Ralph Ineson, who played Galactus in this year's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has weighed in on Ubisoft's decision to reportedly cancel a post-Civil War Assassin's Creed game starring a former ****** slave as its star. According to a Game File report published this week, Ubisoft walked away from the project last summer while the idea was still early in development, due to concerns surrounding the current U.S. political climate and the negative backlash to ****** co-protagonist Yasuke in Assassin's Creed Shadows. Ineson previously featured in Assassin's Creed: ****** Flag as pirate Charles Vane, an ally of the game's hero Edward Kenway. ****** Flag notably also featured Adéwalé, a former ****** slave whose character went on to star as the playable protagonist of Freedom Cry, one of the Assassin's Creed series' best DLCs that was later re-released as a standalone game. "Once again, f*** off," Ineson wrote on X, reposting details of the reportedly-cancelled game. (The message follows another, even more succint recent post — "F*** off" — directed by Ineson at a report concerning AI "actress" Tilly Norwood.) While Ineson hasn't worked on the Assassin's Creed series in some time, it is interesting to see the actor comment on the brand amid the swirl of expectation that a new version of Assassin's Creed: ****** Flag is in development. Indeed, a recent report suggested that the project would include additional material, and Edward Kenway actor Matt Ryan has dropped a couple of hints he's back involved. Could Ineson also be back recording more for the ****** Flag remake? Or is he just annoyed at the project's cancelation as a fan of the series? Ubisoft previously declined to comment about the project when contacted by IGN earlier this week. Image credit: Photo by Phillip Faraone/Getty Images for Disney. Tom Phillips is IGN's News Editor. 10. Battlefield 6 is out now, and in the blink of an eye the game's servers became full with hundreds of thousands of players waiting to get in on the action. IGN was among the many facing server queues today, October 10, as the developers at Battlefield Studios braced themselves for the incoming horde. At the time of this article's publication, less than an hour after Battlefield 6 went live, it had a staggering 606,000 concurrent players on Steam. The true concurrent number will be much *******, but Microsoft and Sony do not make Xbox and PlayStation player numbers public. EA issued a statement saying it anticipated many players logging in at the same time at launch, and had added a ****** system for this “peak” moment. “A short update on login queues as we prepare for the launch of Battlefield 6 later today,” reads the statement. “Battlefield 6 launches today at 15:00 UTC and we anticipate many of you to login at the same time during this initial moment. “To help ensure a smooth and stable login experience for everyone, we’re adding a ****** system during this and other peak moments. “Thanks for your patience as we launch Battlefield 6!” In a more recent statement, EA said it was letting as many players in as it could, so queues should be "relatively short." "With the game now live, many of you are jumping in at the same time," EA said. "To help keep things smooth and stable for everyone, login queues are active during this peak launch moment. We're letting as many of you in as we can, so queues should be relatively short. Steam users please note that if the “Play” button does not show, restarting the Steam client will resolve this issue. Thanks for your patience, and enjoy the launch of Battlefield 6!" The big launch queues follow comments from one Battlefield 6 developer who said the game's servers “should” be ready for today's release date, and that the recent open beta “helped gauge the interest.” While you wait, check out IGN's Battlefield 6 multiplayer review in progress, our Battlefield 6 campaign review, and what to expect from Battlefield Season 1. 11. Cities Skylines 2 is a game with a really strong core, but Colossal Order has so far struggled to deliver on that promise. Following up one of the best city-building games on PC was never going to be easy, but we're now two years on from launch and CS2 continues to languish with a 'mixed' Steam review score of just 53%. The new Bridges and Ports expansion, which opens up your creations to much more water-based construction, might be a chance to turn things around - but, coming in at $20 and after two lengthy delays, it's got a lot to prove to players. 13. Marvel Comics has no shortage of teams and groups that come together to fight against the evils of the world, and Marvel Rivals already has several of them represented. X-Men, Avengers, and Spider-Verse heroes are just some of the existing groups already in the game. But in season 4.5 with the arrival of Daredevil, a new team has come to the forefront: Marvel Knights. In the 1990s, Marvel Knights was a special run of comics that included several limited series but also was a part of ongoing series of comics, but they centered around a number of characters that are in the game. In season 4.5, a new achievement requires some Knights knowledge to progress. Here's everything there is to know about the Marvel Rivals "The Defenders" achievement, including who counts as Marvel Knights. Marvel Rivals 'The Defenders' achievement - Marvel Knights members Screenshot by Destructoid To unlock "The Defenders" achievement in Marvel Rivals and land 10 KOs as Daredevil with other Marvel Knights members, you need to combine for a KO on enemy players with ****** Widow, Blade, Cloak & Dagger, Moon Knight, or The Punisher. This achievement should come pretty naturally if you play as Daredevil and earn eliminations while playing with any of the other above heroes, who are just some of the Marvel characters who could be considered Marvel Knights. Just play any match in Marvel Rivals as Daredevil and team up with the other heroes to land eliminations on enemy players, meaning both of you need to deal damage to the player to eliminate them, and this achievement should pop pretty quickly. Finishing this will unlock 10 achievement points on the rewards track. Like our content? 14. Battlefield 6 is now out worldwide on PC and consoles, and you can tweak the graphics settings to get the best performance. Being a competitive shooter, it's essential to ensure that there are no sudden lag spikes or frame drops. If you have a consistent FPS at all times, the visual performance will be smoother, offering you a key edge over your opponents. This guide will help you get the most out of your hardware as long as it meets the requirements to run Battlefield 6. Table of contentsBest tips and tricks for smooth graphics in Battlefield 6Best graphic settings in Battlefield 6Best tips and tricks for smooth graphics in Battlefield 6 There are some basic steps that you'll need to get right before jumping into a game in Battlefield 6. Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Whether you're using an Nvidia card or one from AMD, check whether there's an available update. Having updated graphic drivers will be key to getting the best visual performance.I will recommend turning off Vsync unless your hardware is pretty strong and comfortably clears the recommended requirements. You'll be losing very little by turning it off, while putting less stress on your system.Until we get a few patches rolling out, it's better to cap the FPS. If your hardware is close to the minimum requirements, set it to 60 FPS. Otherwise, you can crank it up to 90 FPS. While you could potentially lose on more frames, having a cap will stabilize the number of frames you're hitting every moment. Let's look at what I am using on my system to get the best visual performance. 15. The day we've all been waiting for is finally here: Battlefield 6 is officially live. However, despite EA's saying the servers will be ready for the incoming traffic, players are clogging up the ****** so hard it's reaching numbers as high as my country's total population. As of this article, I am sitting in a ****** at position 416,000, meaning there's half a million people ahead of me trying to get into the game. I don't even want to look behind myself at the line that is just forming, given that this ****** size is already almost equal to my home country's population of some 625,000. Battlefield 6 is by far EA's biggest release in these last few years, with this summer's open beta indicating we'd be in for a true storm once the launch day comes. It's almost as much as Iceland! Screenshot by Destructoid And the launch day has come, with BF6 now officially live across the world. Though the server ****** is massive, performance remains stable and steady, with respectable frames and pings. Finding a match is super easy, whether through official matchmaking or the server browser, and that should remain so for the foreseeable future. The server ****** is also moving relatively quickly, so even if you do get stuck way behind, you shouldn't spend too long within it. Hopefully, EA will also expand the server network in the coming days as the company adjusts to the infinite sea of players trying to get their hands on what could just be the best Battlefield in a decade. In the meantime: stay frosty, soldiers, and we'll see you all at the front of the ****** (after we're done compiling shaders for an extra five minutes, that is). Like our content?
