  2. Baldur's Gate 3 players looking to spice up their next playthrough with some strange but interesting mechanics are in luck because a new mod transforms Tav into a Shade. Although there are already plenty of different races and classes to pick from when starting Larian Studios' adventure, the game's community hasn't stopped creating custom content to create an even more immersive Dungeons & Dragons experience. Many mods have introduced new spells and abilities into the games but the most exciting ones usually flesh out the already shockingly robust role-playing systems. View the full article

  4. Palia developer Singularity 6 has ***** off 36 employees. The latest cuts at the Los Angeles-based studio follow another round of layoffs which saw 49 employees lose their jobs in April, according to Polygon’s Nicole Carpenter. “Unfortunately we have had to restructure and reduce the size of our team as we stay focused on supporting Palia and serving our community long term,” reads a statement issued to Game Developer by a Singularity 6 spokesperson. 5. Good news, people with a ******* to virtually hit things, one of the many things that're going on in celebration of Minecraft's 15th anniversary can cater to that need. Especially if you fancy having a barney with the upcoming Minecraft movie, at least in a manner of speaking. This is hardly the only thing going on to celebrate the anniversary, with the option to claim 500 Minecoins for free being another, along with 15 days' worth of new character creator items designed to represent "a different year of Minecraft history". Because, you know, the block game is basically like a small country in terms of depth of lore and heritage nowadays. Anyway, back to the good stuff. This easter egg I'm talking about is a little widget that currently pops up if you search, well, 'Minecraft' via your Chrome browser. If you click on the block, your cursor's swapped out for the square arm of Steve, allowing you to mash away at the search results as through they're a tree you're punching to ****** in the game because you need wood, night's coming, and you don't want to end up back in your bed-wetting phase. 7. We love seeing a masterfully painted PC case at PCGamesN, and this brightly ******** Cyberpunk 2077 gaming PC shows some clever use of spray paints by PC modder Richard Ord. Not only that, but it also features custom details made with a 3D printer and a great hard tube water-cooling system. Richard calls this build Cyberpunk 2077 Neon, and it's based on an Antex DF600 Flux case. Thanks to our rapidly growing PC building Facebook page, we've seen many custom gaming PCs, from mods based on existing case designs to scratch PC builds. You can even submit yours for consideration right here. Now let's talk to Richard about how he made this stunning Cyberpunk 2077 build. Read the rest of the story... 8. As Diablo 4 Season 4 breathes fresh life into the Blizzard RPG with a complete overhaul to its loot system, a new Diablo 4 hotfix is rolling out now to ensure that you can actually get your hands on the strongest endgame items. Among the changes in this latest update is a fix for incomplete loot tables that might have meant items you were farming for were in fact unattainable from the endgame bosses. 9. It's not often enough that a videogame sequel upends and revises the formula established in the first game. Half-Life 2 feels very different from the original, but is still, at its core, another FPS. Helldivers 2 is a better example. It's the same world and story, but the mechanics and 'game feel' are vastly changed from the 2015 progenitor. Originally a pixel-art, top-down RPG, after five years, one overlooked and underplayed soulslike is finally returning. Completely different from its predecessor, it mixes Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Darkest Dungeon, and Don't Starve into a new moody adventure that you can buy - or try for free - right now. 10. Philips has just unveiled the Philips Evnia 49M2C8900L, a new 49-inch, QD-OLED gaming monitor that, along with having key gaming features such as a 144Hz refresh rate, also includes Ambiglow support. This is the company's RGB tech that lets the screen sync up its rear-facing LEDs with what's shown on the screen. We're a big fan of Ambiglow, and the similar technologies found in products such as the Nanoleaf 4D LED strips and Govee AI Sync Box. It adds a big sense of immersion, while also reducing eye strain, in our experience. This immediately gives us hope that this new Philips display will have a chance of earning a spot on our best gaming monitor guide. Read the rest of the story... IGN has everything you need to know about the collaboration, including trailers and the chance to choose one of three collab inspired livery designs that will be wrapped on a Macan Electric. 15. As a part of its cost reduction plans, Take-Two is reportedly shutting down two studios under its Private Division publishing company: Intercept Games and Roll7. Take-Two, however, seems like it won’t confirm these closures at all. In response to IGN, when asked about the closures during the earnings call on May 16, Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick said the company didn’t shut down those studios. “We didn’t shutter those studios, to be clear. And we are always looking at our release schedule across all of our studios to make sure that it makes sense. So we are being very judicious because we are in the middle of a cost reduction program that we’ve already concluded and are now fully rolling out,” Zelnick said, adding that while the company is saving $165 million in costs, it hasn’t shuttered anything. 19. The latest Sony first-party release to make the jump from PlayStation to PC is Ghost of Tsushima. The Director’s Cut version of the game arrived on Steam and the Epic Games Store overnight to a very positive reception from players. The PC port doesn’t appear to have any major issues, and by most accounts, the game runs well on a variety of configurations. But what about player turnout? Well, it’s good, but still falls below a certain release from 2022. Read more View the full article

  21. You might remember Enotria: The Last Song as the Italian-inspired Soulslike that shifted its release date from June to August to avoid Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree... but found itself nestled next to ****** Myth: Wukong. Well, scratch that August release, as now it's been shifted back to September instead! But hey, there's a demo coming out real soon that'll hopefully give us a better sense of what the game's like. I imagine it'll involve a lot of fighting spindly monsters, dying, and resurrecting at whatever object they've decided will be the equivalent of Dark Souls' bonfires. Likely something Leonardo da Vinci made or drew or invented. That man's stats were specced high. Read more View the full article

  23. Strategy game specialist Creative Assembly is reportedly working on a Total War Star Wars video game. DualShockers reports Total War: Star Wars is one of three new Total War games in development at the *****-owned studio. IGN has asked ***** for comment. Creative Assembly has endured a difficult time in recent years, with the cancellation of its live-service shooter Hyenas as well as the sales ******** of Total War: Pharaoh, released last year. The studio also apologized for various missteps it had made with Total War: Warhammer 3 DLC. In March, ***** announced sweeping layoffs that affected ***** Europe, Creative Assembly, and Sonic Dream Team developer Hardlight. Meanwhile, ***** off-loaded Company of Heroes and Dawn of War developer Relic Entertainment At the time, ***** told IGN that Creative Assembly “continues to have multiple projects in development with Total War and a new unannounced project.” Total War fans have called on Creative Assembly to give a Star Wars game a shot for years, although there are equally vociferous calls for the studio to follow its Warhammer trilogy of Total War games with a similar effort for Warhammer 40,000. That’s all we have for now. Creative Assembly has traditionally used gamescom as a platform to show off its games. Perhaps we’ll know more when gamescom 2024 launches in August.
