There's a number from Amazon's Fallout series that can actually be called, only the person that picks up doesn't send all that pleased to hear from you. Light spoilers ahead for the Fallout show. Whenever there's a phone number clearly shown in a piece of media, the first question should always be "does anything happen when you call this number?" A lot of the time it won't lead to anything, as they're often fake, but sometimes production companies will set it up so that when you call the number you're met with a fun, in-world message. For example, actually calling Saul Goodman's number from Breaking Bad will net you a fake message from his office, which is a fun one. Amazon's Fallout series released just last week, and in the sixth episode there's a flashback featuring Walton Goggins' character performing in an ad for Vault-Tec. Read more View the full article

The Avatar Mythics are the highlight of Fortnite currently, and players are discovering strange glitches that can happen with them. Did you know that Fortnite players have figured out that you can use air bending while being knocked down?Air bending is possible when you’re knocked down in FortniteWhile scrolling on TikTok, I noticed an interesting video about a Fortnite player who managed to use air bending while being knocked down. In the video, you can see this player is knocked but is somehow still able to Air Wheel and then Air Jump at the end to get back to their teammate. So is this real?Screenshot: PC InvasionFor now, it seems like this can happen through a glitch of some kind. I tested this out myself in my own Fortnite game and I unfortunately couldn’t recreate it. Although you probably can’t initiate air bending after being knocked, my guess is that this can happen if you get knocked while using air bending. It would make sense, and it see...View the full article

Five years after LawBreakers shut down, we're getting to play the gravity-defying multiplayer FPS again thanks to fans. LawBreakers was the first game from Boss Key Productions, a studio co-founded by Gears Of Wars lead designer Cliff Bleszinski, and it had delightful ultraviolence beneath its uninspiring genric look. Alas, it did not sell well. Boss Key closed less than a year after launch, and the game soon followed. But after years of work, a group of fans this weekend successfully ran the first public test for a workaround to play the game again. While there's no clear launch plan yet, more playtesting will follow. Read more View the full article
Now we're all basking in the radioactive glow of success coming from Amazon's Fallout TV show, a lot of people are naturally wondering which video game series they might like to see get the Hollywood treatment next. Interestingly, for Dragon Age's former lead writer, the answer isn't, er, Dragon Age. Yep, as it turns out, not everyone who's worked on a video game necessarily thinks that game would translate well, or come off in the same way it does in game form, on the big screen. Sometimes things might just not translate, you know, no matter how many little homages to the games that inspired the series or fun maps you might be able to sprinkle in. Responding to a post about the idea of a Fallout-style TV shows being made about other games (thanks, TheGamer), David Gaider, who formerly served as the lead writer on the Dragon Age series while working at Bioware, tweeted that he thinks a Dragon Age show would be "a terrible idea". Enlarge / Photos of iGBA that appeared on the App Store before the app was taken down. (credit: [Hidden Content]) [/url] Over the weekend, developer Mattia La Spina launched iGBA as one of the first retro game emulators legitimately available on the iOS App Store following Apple's rules change regarding such emulators earlier this month. As of Monday morning, though, iGBA has been pulled from the App Store following controversy over the unauthorized reuse of source code from a different emulator project. Shortly after iGBA's launch, some people on social media began noticing that the project appeared to be based on the code for GBA4iOS, a nearly decade-old emulator that developer Riley Testut and a partner developed as high-schoolers (and distributed via a temporary security ***** in the iOS App store). Testut took to social media Sunday morning to call iGBA a "knock-off" of GBA4iOS. "I did not give anyone permission to do this, yet it’s now sitting at the top of the charts (despite being filled with ads + tracking)," he wrote. GBA4iOS is an open source program released under the GNU GPLv2 license, with licensing terms that let anyone "use, modify, and distribute my original code for this project without ***** of legal consequences." But those expansive licensing terms only apply "unless you plan to submit your app to Apple’s App Store, in which case written permission from me is explicitly required." Elden Ring is already a massive game but one dedicated dataminer learned that FromSoftware's RPG was originally intended to be even more gigantic. As players explore the massive world of The Lands Between, they'll uncover a couple of notable underground areas that not only serve as a fresh change of pace from the fields of Limgrave but also pose a significant challenge thanks to their more claustrophobic environments. As it turns out, the developers originally intended for there to be even more of these locales as well as a unique mechanic that would have altered the world completely. View the full article

For the first two weeks of Into The Light, Bungie wanted to try something new for Trials of Osiris: a Special ammo crate system to replace the current meter one. But it’s only taken one weekend for Destiny 2 players to pan the direction, with most hoping it’s scrapped completely. During this first weekend, Destiny 2 implemented what was described as an “unrestricted” crate system, with four Special ammo crates available every round. The impact was immediate—many fireteams started to run double Special loadouts, and the Forerunner Exotic sidearm soared to the top of ***** charts compiled by Trials Report. It had roughly 500,000 more ****** this weekend over its closest competitor, another Special *******, no doubt contributing to what one player described as “the worst week of Trials” they’ve experienced in recent memory.
