The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima will have trophy support, a first for PlayStation’s PC titles. Players who sign in to their PSN accounts on PC will be able to earn Trophies. The list of trophies is the same as the PS5 version of the game, but it’s not clear if the list will be treated as separate from the PS5 version, as is the case with games that have both a PS4 and PS5 version. The game will be released on PC on May 16. A new PlayStation PC overlay will also debut with the release of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. Read More... View the full article

So, we've all had time to come to terms with the fact that Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian isn’t doing any DLC for the game, or a Baldur’s Gate 4, or anything to do with D&D in the near future, even if those things might once have been on the cards. The good news is that Wizards of the Coast, which controls the IP, already looks to be in talks with folks who aren't Larian about what the next game in the series might look like. Before you go and start getting ally hyped up, it sounds like it'll be a while until we actually see any new BG things actually materialise. Though, it's nice to know that you hopefully won't have aged over twenty years by the time they do arrive, assuming they, you know, actually do that. Speaking to PC Gamer, Eugene Evans, the senior vice president of digital strategy and licensing for Wizards of the Coast and parent company Hasbro - which owns the IP - offered a bit of insight into where Baldur's Gate's future currently stands. While the showrunners behind the Fallout TV show have insisted none of the endings of previous games are considered canon, at least in terms of a jumping off point for the show itself, eagle-eyed fans reckon the Brotherhood of Steel airship seen in the series suggests one of two endings from Fallout 4 is now canon. Warning: spoilers for the Fallout TV show and Fallout 4 follow. Let’s start with the basic timeline: the Fallout TV show is set in 2296, nine years after the events of Fallout 4. In the first episode of the Fallout TV show, we see an enormous Brotherhood of Steel airship. Some believe this to be the Prydwen from Fallout 4. According to Fallout lore expert TKs-Mantis, if this is true, that rules out two of the four main endings in Fallout 4 as being canon (Railroad and Institute). TKs-Mantis suggests it may in fact confirm the Brotherhood of Steel ending is canon, given other endings involve destroying the Prydwen. But it could equally confirm the Minutemen ending as canon, given there is a path to that ending that sees the Prydwen survive. I am seeing reports that the airship in the Fallout show is indeed the Prydwen. This would mean that some endings in Fallout 4 are for sure not canon. In fact, it may confirm the BoS ending entirely. As the others have you ******** the airship during their quests. [Hidden Content] — TKs-Mantis (@TKsMantis) April 16, 2024 So why do fans think the Fallout TV show airship is the Prydwen? There’s an element of ‘zoom and enhance’ to this, but it looks like the name is scrawled on the side of the ship. At least, that’s what some are seeing. I've been trying to get this across to the internet since my press embargo lifted, but got flak and was called a liar. But yeah, it's the Prydwen, operating under its codename. So, it looks like Fallout 4's Minutemen ending can be considered canon now. Feels good. [Hidden Content] — Timo Schmidt (@TDeckverse) April 17, 2024 Well this changes things don’t it. The airship we see in Fallout is in fact the Prydwen from FO4 and not the Cassewyn as originally told… @Fallout @BethesdaStudios #Fallout #Fallout76 #FO76 [Hidden Content] — Nick (@Doomguy_74) April 17, 2024 So the ship in fallout TV show is in fact the Prydwen meaning BOS is the canon ending to she show i guess. [Hidden Content] — omegavalwinz (@omegavalwinz) April 16, 2024 If this airship is in fact the Prydwen, that would contradict information revealed by Vanity Fair in a first look at the show published in November. In that article, a caption tagged to a shot of the airship claims it's called the 'Caswennan'. Here's the text: "Brotherhood of Steel recruits gaze upon the Vertibirds hovering around an airship called the Caswennan, marveling at the rare pieces of high-functioning hardware." The Fallout TV show’s place within and implications for the wider lore is a key talking point for fans, given it’s confirmed canon and moves the Fallout story on by being set after all the games. Some are wondering about how the on-screen fate of Shady Sands fits in with the timeline, too. But overall, the Fallout TV show is a big success, and it seems likely we’ll see a second season. IGN has plenty of Fallout TV show coverage to keep you going, including a report on Fallout's Vault-Tec phone number, which may point to an Easter egg, how fans are debating Lucy's XP level, and more. IGN has also rounded up 111 details in the Fallout show that have been pulled straight from the games, leading to a season finale that sets up a new adventure in a beloved setting. Gameloft has hinted at a possible U-turn over criticism it has received for future Disney Speedstorm season pass plans. Last week the developer detailed its plans for Season 7 of the game, which is set to start soon (following the extension of Season 6). Among the plans was news that the premium tier of the Golden Pass – which is the game’s equivalent of a season pass or battle pass – can no longer be earned by collecting in-game Tokens, and can only be purchased for $9.99. Jack ****** seems to have confirmed that he is in fact playing Steve in the upcoming Minecraft movie. Earlier this year, it was reported that ****** had joined the long in development Minecraft movie, supposedly as the most recognisable face from the game, Steve. His casting has since been confirmed, though his exact role hasn't been divulged. Now, thanks to a video from ****** himself (via DiscussingFilm), it seems the Super Mario Bros. Movie actor has confirmed that he will be playing Steve. You can check out the video below, where ****** has recorded himself singing the YouTube remix classic Double Rainbow Song while filming what looks to be just a single rainbow, though that might be down to the quality of the footage. He then pans over to his trailer, where you can quite clearly see a piece of paper with the name STEVE on it, above the Minecraft logo, and when he enters it you can see some art of the characters from Minecraft stuck to the windows of the trailer. A little coy smile from ****** at the end certainly seems to suggest that yes, he is Steve, though it's still not clear how blocky he will be in the final film. Read more View the full article
Season of Discovery reinvented World of Warcraft Classic with new abilities, events, and raids. Even though features like the Blood Moon won’t be missed, fans adore one change Blizzard made in phase three, and they want it for endgame raids as well. In a post on the WoW Classic subreddit on April 16, player Deep_Junket_7954 asked Blizzard to convert all the level 60 raids (which are normally designed for 40 players) into 20-person raids. All WoW Classic raids except Zul’Gurub and the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj are intended for 40 people, but players are arguing 20-person raids are the sweet spot. You still have to coordinate mechanics with lots of players, but things aren’t too chaotic. View the full article

Hello there, a whole bunch of games are set to leave Playstation Plus next month. There are 25 of them, to be exact, and some pretty big names are on that list. A smorgasbord of Final Fantasy titles, for example. Though, that's not what you should be most concerned about. Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 is leaving too, and to be honest, I don't think the service will ever recover from that. First, the rest of them (thanks, PushSquare). If you're itching to play Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 9, Final Fantasy 10/10-2, Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age, and Final Fantasy 15: Royal Edition, all of which I can confirm are Final Fantasy games, you'll have to do so prior to May 21. Look, I know Final Fantasy titles have some amazing stories and characters in them, and you're now looking Monster Jam Steel Titans 2's Metacritic and saying to yourself 'this looks really mid, even for a racing game'. But does FF have Grave Digger in it? Does it let you pop a wheelie or do a flip in a big, silly toy that's designed to look like a big bull's head, or an alien spaceship, or a zombie? Steve Buscemi, an actor known for having played cartoon monsters and teen detectives, has apparently been cast in Wednesday season 2. As reported by Variety, Buscemi is the latest actor to join season 2 of the very popular Netflix series Wednesday. This comes from sources that spoke with Variety, who weren't able to confirm exactly who he will be playing, though it's believed his role will be that of the new principal of Nevermore Academy. Whether Buscemi will be some kind of supernatural creature/ monster himself ******** to be seen, though I'm sure his stint as Randall Boggs in Monster, Inc. will help him out there. Plus, thanks to that one constantly referenced 30 Rock bit he appeared in as a detective that supposedly looks young enough to pass as a teen, he's surely able to get down with the kids. Details on Wednesday season 2 are mostly under wraps at the moment, though obviously the titular lead Jenna Ortega is returning, though this time also as an executive producer. Earlier this year she did say that she's "received some scripts now for the second season, and we’re definitely leaning into a little bit more horror," which will definitely be a welcome change for those that felt the first season was a bit too casual. She went on to say that "there's some really good one-liners and I think everything is *******. It’s a lot more action-packed. I think each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice." Read more View the full article
Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has triggered the resurgence of the Factory Striders — and on ******* difficulties they’re dropping in packs. For the uninitiated, the Factory Strider is an AT-AT-style Automaton walker that drops onto the battlefield, stomps around ********* up Helldivers, and sometimes even spawns other enemies. They were stealth-dropped into the PlayStation 5 and PC co-op shooter earlier in April, but it seems this was something of a test. Now, according to Arrowhead, Factory Striders are back and in a big way. Factory Striders have made a resurgence on the Automaton front. These imposing, massive support dreadnoughts now threaten freedom and democracy throughout the galactic rim. [Hidden Content] — HELLDIVERS™ 2 (@helldivers2) April 16, 2024 Since this announcement, Helldivers 2 players have discovered that on the game’s ******* difficulties, the Factory Striders can multi-drop. That is, they can drop in groups, which is a terrifying prospect. Redditor Dolt1372 published a clip, below, that shows just how out of control this can get, with Factory Strider after Factory Strider dropping in front of the unfortunate Helldiver. Factory Strider multi drop Dolt1372 [Hidden Content] — Helldivers Alerts (@HelldiversAlert) April 17, 2024 While Factory Striders are imposing and difficult to take down, the fightback has begun, with players sharing their tips for destroying the support dreadnoughts (check out IGN's guide to defeating Factory Striders if you're having trouble). In short, the answer is to bring big, powerful ******, and as many as your group can carry. Drop everything you’ve got, basically, especially if more than one Factory Strider turns up. If you're all out of ******, try blowing its guns off with your hardest-hitting support *******. If all else fails, run! Some players are reporting that even in public groups Helldivers understand the assignment, and as soon as a Factory Striders turns up, everyone lets it have it. “I joined four, difficulty eight pubs, in all four we had multi-drop Factory Striders at some point that lasted all of 10 seconds,” reported CorsariousAbonai. “Literally soon as we saw one, anywhere from six to eight stratagems would follow. I am talking 380, laser, 500kg, rail cannon, walking barrage, clusters eagle airstrike. The works. These were all pubs but everyone was on the same wavelength, drop big boomboom on big ******. “Imagine the perspective of the striders, giant mechanical menace, peak **** engineering. Gets dropped, with two of the same. Within five seconds of landing six orbs with red beams aimed at the sky fall at your feet.” The Helldivers community is currently fighting off the Automaton invasion, which Arrowhead triggered last week with a new set of Major Orders focused on pushing the bots back. It ******** to be seen where Game Master Joel will take the Galactic War next. If you’re looking for more on Helldivers 2, check out IGN’s feature on the Let Me Solo Her of Helldivers 2, a player who has answered over 100 **** Beacons as part of a mission to help others. Helldivers 2 has become one of the surprise hits of 2024 since launching in February, topping the charts on Steam and reportedly selling around three million copies. According to at least one analyst, it's still growing. Check out IGN's Helldivers 2 review to find out why it's going down so well. A significant number of game developers are unsure about the long-term sustainability of the live-service monetization model, according to a recent survey. Generally, live-service games are those that receive continual updates after launch, often divided into seasons or chapters, and are usually accompanied by a monetization scheme like battle passes. The goal is to keep players engaged and continuously playing the game and spending money, and the model has proven extremely lucrative for developers. View the full article

Take-Two Interactoive, the company behind GTA developer Rockstar Games - which also recently acquired Borderlands developer Gearbox Software for $460 million - has announced plans to lay off just over 500 of its employees and cancel some in-development projects. This, as we've sadly come to expect, is part of a plan to cut costs at the company. The plans were revealed via an SEC filing (thanks, [Hidden Content]) which outlined that Take-Two's board of directors had approved them and provided an explanation behind the rationale the company's using to justify making such a move. The latter contains a lot of the kind of language you might expect. In that filing, Take-Two wrote that this cost slashing is designed "to identify efficiencies across its business and enhance the company’s margin profile, while still investing for growth". "As part of these efforts," it added, "the company is rationalizing its pipeline and eliminating several projects in development and streamlining its organizational structure, which will eliminate headcount and reduce future hiring needs."
