  1. ARC Raiders puts a strong emphasis on loot and crafting, usually leading to players making their own tools that are miles better than what can be found out in the wild. However, certain items aren't so easy to obtain, nor is their purpose stated to a newcomer. This includes the Gun Parts, ranging from Small to Heavy, which can be quite useful if they weren't so rare and obscure. So, to save you from a headache, here's how you can obtain Gun Parts and make your own tools of war. ARC Raiders Gun Parts guide - How to find and craft them Gun Parts are necessary to make various weapons in ARC Raiders. Screenshot by Destructoid Gun Parts in ARC Raiders come in four distinct categories: Light, Medium, Heavy, and Complex. They are used to make Light, Medium, and Heavy ammo guns, respectively, ranging in rarity based on that power dynamic. The Complex ammo parts are used for advanced weapons, used for special-issue guns like the Equalizer or Jupiter There are also Simple Gun Parts, a crucial component necessary to craft each of the ammo-specific gun parts above, which in turn are used to produce weapons. Some guns also require Simple Gun Parts alongside the other ones to be made, which significantly increases their value. As opposed to Light, Medium, Heavy, and Complex Gun Parts, Simple Gun Parts cannot be crafted, and are only obtainable via looting, recycling, or purchasing in Celeste's shop through Assorted Seeds (also found in the world or gained by recycling Great Mullein). These parts can often be looted from various ARCs, and are usually dropped by smaller ones like Hornets and Wasps, which are plentiful on all the game's maps. To get Light, Medium, Heavy, or Complex Gun Parts, you'll need to do the following: Find the necessary blueprint for each of the parts. These are rare drops that you can loot in the world, usually in military-specific areas with high loot quality. Weapon caches and storages tend to contain various gun-related items, parts included, either as crafted or as blueprints. Taking the blueprint to a Refiner 2 will let you craft them by using Simple Gun Parts.Search Raider bodies, caches, or high-value loot areas with gun-specific containers. The Control Tower on Dam Battlegrounds is a great starting point, though make sure you bring the necessary keys with you to unlock its best areas. Of course, you can engage in more PvP combat and try to pry weapon parts off the cold dead hands of other players, should they have had the luck to find them instead of you. This is naturally the riskiest way of obtaining any kind of loot, so tread carefully. With enough playtime, you will eventually find all the necessary blueprints and be able to craft each Gun Part by using Simple Gun Parts, which, as I've said, can be farmed off smaller ARCs like Hornets and Wasps that spawn just about everywhere. 2. The Blue Gate Communication Tower key allows you to access a high-tier loot area in ARC Raiders, and it can be incredibly rewarding for you and your squad. The key in discussion isn't tied to any quest. This makes finding the item significantly harder as it adds randomness to the mix. While the exact spot might vary with your run, there are a few targeted spots to look at. Once you obtain the key, you'll also need to reach a specific spot on the Blue Gate map to get your loot. Table of contentsHow to get the Blue Gate Communications Tower Key in ARC RaidersHow to use the Blue Gate Communications Tower key in ARC RaidersHow to get the Blue Gate Communications Tower Key in ARC Raiders The Blue Gate Communications Tower key can be obtained from residential areas. I found it in Dam Battlegrounds, but the exact location will vary based on the rotation. I managed to obtain it from the Research and Administration building, which is an excellent spot for the key. Screenshot and Remix by Destructoid There are two other areas to look for if you don't find it at the Research and Administration building. Both Ruby Residence and Pale Apartments have several containers, and some of them can also include keys. If you're lucky, you could obtain one that opens the Blue Gate Communications Tower. If not, you'll need to retry and hope you get lucky. Once you obtain the key, the next task is to reach Blue Gate. These locations can also reward you with other keys, like the one required for the Confiscation room. How to use the Blue Gate Communications Tower key in ARC Raiders The Blue Gate Communications Tower is located in the extreme north of the map. You can access the place from the top by using a zipline that goes all the way down. Keep following the main path, and you'll come across the entrance to the room where you get to use the key. Screenshot and Remix by Destructoid Head inside, and you'll find plenty of high-value items to loot. What you get from the location will depend on your luck, but the overall quality of the rewards is well worth the effort of obtaining the key in the first place. 3. Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection should have been an easy win. It bundles together the first four Mortal Kombat games, including the WaveNet version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 previously thought lost, as well as less fondly remembered spin-offs like Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero for the sake of completeness and the memes. It also comes with an interactive documentary about the history of the gory fighting series, à la The Making of Karateka. Sounds like the complete package... Read more.View the full article
  4. Final Fantasy 14 lead battle content designer Masaki "Mr. Ozma" Nakagawa shared on social media that he is working on "something new and fresh" for one of Dawntrail's future content patches. However, Nakagawa said that his next project is not the finale of the Arcadion raid series, which is slated to arrive in Final Fantasy 14 this December in Patch 7.4, Into The Mist. 5. We've rounded up the best deals for Sunday, November 2, below, so don't miss out on these limited-time offers. Bleach Rebirth of Souls for $34.99 Bleach Rebirth of Souls was the first major Bleach game release in many years, with Bandai Namco and Tamsoft bringing the iconic series to modern platforms as a fighter. All of the most iconic Bleach characters are here, including Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Grimmjow Jeagerjaques, and even Coyote Stark. Save $25 off the base game this weekend with this deal at Woot. Pre-Order Resident Evil Requiem Resident Evil Requiem officially opened pre-orders late last week ahead of its February 27 release date next year. While a standard edition is available, the more interesting edition is the Resident Evil Generation Pack, which puts together Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil Requiem in one package for only $89.99. For Nintendo players who never had the chance to experience these games, this is an excellent option. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PC) for $26.99 Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is still one of my favorite PlayStation 5 games. Insomniac Games brought endless charm with the entry, with engaging combat and a solid storyline as well. Today, you can score a Steam copy of the game for $26.99 at Amazon. If you're looking for a platformer and have yet to play Rift Apart, make it your mission to do so this weekend! Save $10 Off Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was one of 2025's most anticipated games for many, as it marks a major return to the MGS franchise for Konami. This weekend, you can save $10 off the release for either PS5 or Xbox Series X. In our 8/10 review, we wrote, "Between its old-school stealth-action gameplay and engaging spy-thriller story, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater largely succeeds as a faithful, visually impressive remake of the 2004 classic." Raidou Remastered for $31.99 Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army launched in mid June, and you can save almost 50% off a PS5 copy for this weekend at Woot. This action RPG is a remaster of the 2006 PS2 game, and there are many improvements and new features to discover. For one, UI, visuals, and voice acting have all been tweaked to refine the experience, but you can also discover more than 120 different demons. NBA 2K26 for $39.99 NBA 2K26 is on ***** this weekend for $39.99, just in time for the start of the NBA season. This is even lower than last weekend's *****! In our 8/10 review, we wrote, “Ball Over Everything” is a fitting description for NBA 2K26. The smooth on-court action is better than ever and MyCareer’s excellent started-from-the-bottom journey to the pros story make it so the imperfections are easier to ignore." Final Fantasy Physical Switch Pre-Orders Square Enix announced a few weeks ago that Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered are heading to Nintendo Switch in the form of a physical pack. While this collection was available outside of North America, this is the first time it sees an official release in the United States. A separate Final Fantasy IX physical release was also announced, following the same pattern. Both physicals are set to drop on December 9, so get your pre-orders in now. Madden NFL 26 for $39.99 PlayStation 5 copies of Madden NFL 26 are available for $39.99 this weekend at Amazon. This latest entry brings new updates that make a noticeable difference, particularly when compared to entries of the last few years. In our 8/10 review, we wrote, "There’s always room for improvement, but it’s hard to overstate what a leap Madden NFL 26 feels like both on and off the field." View the full article

  7. ARC Raiders is packed with various quests that make every trip topside that much more meaningful. They are also gateways to further rewards, upgraded Trader offers, and other goodies that you don't wanna miss out on. But they're not always so clear, tasking players with taking down enemies they just can't seem to find or visit locations that are not marked on the maps. The Mixed Signals quest is one such mission, asking you to take down a Surveyor and loot it for its Surveyor Vault. Here's how you can do just that and save yourself the trouble. Where to find Surveyors and get the Surveyor Vault in ARC Raiders The Mixed Signals quest is issued by Shani, Speranza's watchful eye. Screenshot by Destructoid To complete the Mixed Signals quest, issued by Shani after enough progression has been made with her, you'll have to do the following: Kill a Surveyor ARC. Loot a Surveyor Vault from its corpse. Both can be done in one fell swoop; all you need is to find one of these buggers. Surveyors spawn on every map of the game, and can be recognized from far away by the blue laser reaching into the sky. The laser is visible from across the map so long as it's not obscured by buildings or foliage, indicating the exact location of a Surveyor. They are circular ****** that are much like Fireballs and roll around the map, doing work for this world's menacing mechanical overlords. I've noticed them in the Southwest parts of The Blue Gate and Eastern side of The Buried City most commonly, though you'll find at least one in any given match. Surveyors are ******, circular ARCs that emit a blue laser visible across the map. While transmitting, they'll expose their inner parts, allowing you to easily take them down. Screenshot by Destructoid Surveyors are nimble and fast, and will try to escape from you if you shoot at them. To avoid chasing them, you'll need to pack a punch, so be sure to go hunting with a heavy-ammo weapon, preferably an upgraded Ferro or other sniper rifle. The better the ARC armor penetration, the better. A good thing to note is that Surveyors become vulnerable when they start transmitting that laser, exposing their innards for a well-placed shot and easy kill, so if you can afford to be patient, you can save yourself some trouble. Once you've taken the Surveyor down, merely loot its core part to find a Surveyor Vault, the crucial component necessary to complete the quest. I suggest you run with a proper Augment and place the Vault in your safe pocket, guaranteeing it'll be extracted even if you die. When you've done both, merely return to Shani and turn the quest in, earning yourself a free Raider Hatch Key and an extra valuable item. 8. A new biome is coming to PEAK in the form of Roots, and it could provide a host of new challenges for the fans. Indie sensation PEAK has received plenty of minor upgrades since its release back in June, which also includes the Mesa biome. The time has now come for the introduction of the second new biome, and having an idea about the countdown will allow you to jump in as soon as the update launches on Steam. Table of contentsPEAK Roots biome release countdownWhat to expect from the Roots update in PEAKPEAK Roots biome release countdown Roots is coming to PEAK on Nov. 5, following the launch of the upcoming update. It will download automatically on your device after the update goes live. As of writing, Aggro Crab hasn't announced an exact time of launch. However, I believe they will be following the same schedule as they did while launching Mesa. [hurrytimer id="1136385"] The countdown is based on the following timings. 1pm PT2pm CT4pm ET8pm UTC/BT9pm CET The developers could change the schedule slightly, and we will duly update the guide should the timings change. The upcoming update, like the Mesa addition, will be available for free. What to expect from the Roots update in PEAK So far, the developers have been tight-lipped about what we can expect from the update. The official trailer gives a brief view of what we can expect from the new biome. It appears to be based on a rainforest-type area, with creepy-crawlies attacking us from the top. As usual, I expect to find new items and animals in the biome, just like it happened with Mesa. We will have dedicated guides about all the content when the update goes live on Nov. 5. There's already a fair amount of cosmetics that you can earn by completing the challenge. However, we should get a few more at least with the upcoming update. 9. A R.E.P.O. Monster Update mechanic, the Tumble Climb feels more gimmicky than others. While the Tumble Grab is an absolute game-changer, offering various ways to counter enemies without losing health or draining stamina, the Tumble Climb proves to be a bit more finicky in its design. Here's everything you need to know about the R.E.P.O. Tumble Climb! upgrade before heading into your next run. How to use Tumble Climb in R.E.P.O. Seeing the world from a new perspective. Screenshot by Destructoid First, you need to buy the Tumble Climb! upgrade from the Service Station. The simplest way to explain how it works is to position yourself at a wall and Tumble Launch (press 'Q') to the ground. Wait for the border on-screen to switch from red to yellow, meaning you can interact with objects. The cursor will swap from yellow to blue, letting you begin your climb. You will lose stamina as soon as you start moving during Tumble Launch. To climb, hold left-click and pull your mouse towards you, forcing your semibot to look down. You have to then quickly look up, click and pull yourself up at another part of the wall to climb even further. Repeat this until you're where you want to go (if trying to reach balconies or shelves), or when you're out of the enemy's line of sight. The more upgrades you buy and use, the faster you can climb and the less stamina you consume. Tumble Climb lasts approximately eight seconds on base 40 stamina. Because you cannot immediately begin climbing after entering Tumble state, you're at risk of getting killed by the very monster you're trying to avoid. Is Tumble Climb worth it in R.E.P.O.? Examples of how Tumble Climb could be used. Video by Destructoid Based on what I've played so far? No, the Tumble Climb isn't worth buying. Comparing the Tumble Climb to the superior Tumble Grab or even the Double Jump proves that it isn't worth the cost of the upgrade unless you're willing to invest in it like it's your next R.E.P.O. build. The usefulness of the Tumble Climb lies in consuming multiple upgrades, where this mechanic increases in functionality and efficiency. At the time of writing, the Tumble Climb is more of a situational mechanic, where its helpfulness rises the more upgrades you have, especially if you're up against ground monsters. But as you know, seeing specific monsters isn't guaranteed. While you'll want more health and stamina regardless of which level you're heading into or which Moon modifier is active, the Tumble Climb can put you in a bad spot, where running to cover or hiding could save you without the added risk. The Tumble Climb is only useful when there's nothing for you to stand on or to save you from falling into a pit. But once again, doing so requires a lot of stamina. A lot of monsters (particularly the Loom) have a max range where they cannot reach you if you've climbed high enough. But there are ways around this without the Tumble Climb. It is, however, a godsend if you have the stamina and load into the Museum of Human Art, for any monster that cannot fly will soon forget about you clinging to the wall and taunting them while twerking. 10. Whenever we get a super popular multiplayer game, server issues tend to arise. One way to mitigate them is to put players in a ******, allowing them into the game in waves and batches to ensure the servers don't suffer critical blows. ARC Raiders is no exception, with some players reporting that they've been placed "In ******" when trying to launch the game. Here is everything you need to know. What does the "In ******" message mean in ARC Raiders? The message began appearing as of Nov. 2, following massive reports of server instability. Screenshot by Destructoid If you've encountered the "In ******" message when trying to launch ARC Raiders, chances are that the servers are suffering critical issues and are not allowing players into the game. The ****** is not specific and does not reveal what your position is in it, leading to the assumption that there probably is no ****** but rather a full stoppage of players joining the game. The message began appearing en masse on Nov. 2, coinciding with large numbers of players reporting they could not join the game. On the official Discord server, the game's developers acknowledged issues with the back-end, which appear to be regional but nevertheless affecting a lot of people. The devs said they are actively working on resolving the connectivity problems, likely implementing the ****** to prevent players from joining and overloading servers further. Until further specified, it appears this ****** is indefinite, unlike what we had in Battlefield 6. If you wish, you could leave it open and wait it out, or come back at a later time after it's been fixed. The post Why is there a ****** in ARC Raiders? ‘In ******’ message, explained appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
