Call of Duty: ****** Ops 7 publisher Activision has confirmed that the upcoming shooter will not have an early access release, despite rumors and insider reports suggesting otherwise. There's now less than two weeks to go until Call of Duty: ****** Ops 7hits PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and while many fans were hoping to jump into the Campaign and Zombies even earlier after new information emerged last week, Activision has now said that won't be happening. Brandon Sanderson has always been outspoken about his favorite video games, and has spoken very fondly about the long-awaited indie sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, since its unexpected release earlier this year. Many Sanderson fans would guess that Silksong is easily his favorite sequel to release this year, but his Halloween costume selection suggests otherwise. View the full article
The Broken Monument quest is one of the trickiest ones to complete in ARC Raiders due to its sheer number of tasks, but you can make the process more efficient with some simple strategies. You'll have seven different tasks to complete, and you'll have to complete all of them in a single raid. Failing even one of them will automatically reset your progress, and you'll have to try again. Let's look at the tasks and how you can complete them in ARC Raiders. ARC Raiders Broken Monument walkthrough Here are the seven tasks that are part of the Broken Monument quest. Reach the hallowed grounds by the Scrap Yard.Search for a compass near the broken-down vehicles.Search for the video tape near the cylindrical containers.Search for the old field rations in the Raider camp.Deliver the First Wave Tape to Tian Wen.Deliver the First Wave Compass to Tian Wen.Deliver the First Wave Rations to Tian Wen. If you break down the whole quest, you'll find that the basic job is to find the three items and bring them to Tian Wen. First, we have to reach the Scrap Yard location to activate the quest. Then, we begin our pursuit of the three items. Thankfully, all three items are located pretty close to one another. They can be found in the Scrap Yard, and I have marked the locations to make it easy for you. Screenshot and Remix by Destructoid Video Tape: The tape is near a set of cylindrical containers lying on the ground.Compass: The compass is also on the ground, beside a bunch of containers. The item is incidentally inside a toolbox, and you'll have to add it to your inventory manually.Rations: You'll find an abandoned depot in the Scrap Yard. Go inside, and you'll find a box inside the depot. Obtaining it completes the three items that you have to find. The last part of the task is to deliver the items by manually selecting them from your inventory and claiming your rewards. Be careful about the last part, and avoid ARC enemies and human players as much as possible. The post How to complete Broken Monument quest in ARC Raiders appeared first on Destructoid. One of the new members of the R.E.P.O. Monster Update is the Loom. Like a ghost story brought to life, the Loom is a horrifying woman in ******, sporting an unnaturally wide and crooked grin as she towers over her prey. The ultimate semibot tracker, here's everything you need to know about the scariest R.E.P.O. monster, Loom. How does Loom work in R.E.P.O.: Behavior, attacks, and signs Screenshot by Destructoid The Loom poses the greatest threat in R.E.P.O. for she knows where you are at all times. Menacingly walking towards the one target she's set her sights on, the Loom can only attack one player at a time unless provoked. The only warning you get that you're next on her hit list is the foreboding image of hands closing in on your screen. Solo semibots will always see this towards the start of the level if the Loom has spawned in. Otherwise, the hands are present on only one semibot at the start of the round, until she switches targets. But what makes her switch? Video by Destructoid If the Loom uses her singular but powerful (100 damage) attack of the clap: her hands slamming against one another with you stuck in-between, she will swap targets—whether she's successful or not. You can outrun this attack, but you need your stamina saved up so you're not caught in her grasp. Screenshot by Destructoid Loom stalks you from the very start, capable of infiltrating the truck to punish her AFK target. Hiding underneath furniture or behind cover is guaranteed to give you a fright as the Loom's face and eyes stay fixed on your whereabouts. Her height towering above you makes the Robe appear adorable in comparison. She will hunch down to get through doorways and stretch out her long arms to reach the smallest nooks and crannies. The most ridiculous thing about this R.E.P.O. entity is that she knows where you are at all times. This means the standard counter (run and hide) isn't possible. How to counter Loom Screenshot by Destructoid Loom may be terrifying, but she's thankfully not that fast. Keeping a steady walking pace, this monster will continue to hunt you down until she uses the one powerful move in her arsenal. Of course, if you're running solo, the Loom will continue to pursue you until eventually running out of steam. It's highly unlikely you'll ever see this phase if you're playing with friends, but the Loom can fall into a docile and harmless state where she flees to the furthest point on the map. But this only happens if she cannot kill you after five attempts. This phase is evident by the Loom's sudden physical change, where she's running away with her back hunched over and her hands small in front of her. Provoking her here only resets her attack animation, and she'll get aggressive once more. Video by Destructoid As this phase isn't guaranteed, we've come up with multiple ways to deal with this monstrosity. Of course, the obvious thing to do is use either the Handgun (seven bullets) or Shotgun to quickly remove her from the lobby. Because of her sheer size, the C.A.R.T. Cannon or Laser is a worthy opponent against the Loom. She can be stunned by either the Tranq Gun or Baseball Bat and thrown into death pits before the Overcharge mechanic comes into play. It is possible to treat this monster like the Apex Predator, Elsa, or Tick, where you gather valuables while staying away from this entity. But the Loom moves silently, meaning you'd have to constantly keep a lookout to ensure you're never hit by her attack. Make sure you've upgraded your health at least twice so that you can survive a Loom attack. Do not Tumble Launch or crouch near her. Video by Destructoid Outside of this, the Loom has a glaring negative that you can use to your advantage. Her clap has a max range where she cannot lift her arms high enough to reach her target. I noticed this on Headman Manor, where you can use bookcases or stacked furniture to stand above her. You need to be at a greater height than the top of her head for this to work. You'll then notice Loom cannot reach you here. Using Tumble Climb, Double Jump, or the environment to get away from Loom is more likely to save you and force her to switch targets. Whether it be by exploding from Cauldrons to reach Swiftbroom balconies, ascending shipment containers on McJannek, or jumping into vents in the Museum, you should always look for something to climb when Loom is in view. It's no secret that I've fallen off of League of Legends of late. While I love the MOBA's world and its characters, the ranked grind has just felt a little too intense, and even Worlds has failed to really pique my interest (especially because there are no cinema watch parties in Scotland this time around). While my Worlds 24 Baron will always sit on my bookcase, with Championship LeBlanc and Xayah taking center stage amid my many LoL figurines, I've struggled to love Runeterra of late. But, all of that changed with Riftbound, Riot's new physical card game that's primed to rival the likes of Magic: The Gathering and Star Wars: Unlimited. Read the rest of the story... Keanu Reeves would love to play Johnny Silverhand again, but how can he given the events of Cyberpunk 2077? It turns out Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith has worked out a way to make it make sense, and has told the much-loved actor: “contact me.” In September, speaking with IGN while promoting his movie Good Fortune, Keanu Reeves said that he wanted to be part of the sequel to CD Projekt's 2020 game. “Absolutely. I’d love to play Johnny Silverhand again," Reeves said when asked if he’d be interested in revisiting his legendary rockstar terrorist character in Cyberpunk 2. Reeves's love-affair with the Cyberpunk community began with his viral "you're breathtaking" moment at E3 2019. Reeves, on-stage to announce the release date of Cyberpunk 2077, was interrupted by a fan who shouted out "you're breathtaking!" Reeves' response was to double-down with his own "you're breathtaking... you're all breathtaking!" Cue wholesome memes across the internet forever more. You can see the iconic gamer moment in the video below. The question is, could Reeves actually play Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2 even if he wanted to? In other words, could Johnny Silverhand return in the sequel, given the events of Cyberpunk 2077? Warning! Spoilers for Cyberpunk 2077 follow: While many players believe Cyberpunk 2077 provided a suitable ending for Johnny and V's story, depending on which ending of the game CD Projekt makes canon for Cyberpunk 2, the door may be left open for Reeves' return. Could Johnny return in cameo form perhaps, having downloaded himself into someone or something else? Canon ending dependent, could V end up becoming Johnny Silverhand in mind and body for Cyberpunk 2? Perhaps we could see Johnny as part of a flashback to events before Cyberpunk 2077, as Cyberpunk 2077 had? It sounds like Mike Pondsmith has been thinking about this ever since Reeves’ interview with IGN. In a CD Projekt livestream to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Cyberpunk 2077, Mike Pondsmith said, matter of factly: “Not that long ago, I saw that Keanu would like to find a way to come back from the dead and play Johnny again. I have ways to do that, Keanu. Contact me.” Pondsmith, understandably, did not reveal what those “ways” were, but as we’ve mentioned, there are plenty of theories fans have come up with to make it make sense. Reeves isn’t the only big Hollywood name to appear in Cyberpunk 2077. Idris Elba starred in the successful expansion, Phantom Liberty, which Pondsmith was delighted by. Indeed, he revealed he worried that CD Projekt might get sued because his character, looked so much like Elba, before it was revealed it actually was Elba playing the role. "'So let me get this straight,'" Pondsmith recalled of his reaction to the news. "'You got Keanu Reeves, and then you turn around and get Idris Elba. What's next? Scarlett Johansson?’ "Scarlett, you know, I have roles for you. You can do anything." Scarlett Johansson in Cyberpunk 2? That remains to be seen. But Pondsmith has been chatty about the hotly anticipated sequel in the past. In May, Pondsmith teased some previously unknown details when he was asked about the scope of his involvement with Cyberpunk 2 (then known as Project Orion) at the Digital Dragons 2025 conference. Pondsmith admitted he wasn’t as involved this time around, but said he does review scripts and had been to CD Projekt to check out the ongoing work. “Last week I was wandering around talking to different departments, and seeing what they had, ‘Oh look, this is the new cyberware, what do you think?’ ‘Oh yeah, that’s pretty good, that works here.’" And then, the morsel on the sequel: that it features a brand new city in addition to the Night City we know from Cyberpunk 2077. Pondsmith described this new city as “like Chicago gone wrong.” “I spent a lot of time talking to one of the environment guys, and he was explaining how the new place in Orion, because there’s another city we visit — I’m not telling you any more than that but there’s another city we visit. And Night City is still there. But I remember looking at it and going, yeah I understand the feel you’re going for this, and this really does work. And it doesn’t feel like Blade Runner, it feels more like Chicago gone wrong. I said, ‘Yeah, I can see this working.'” It’s worth pointing out that Pondsmith’s comments do not necessarily suggest the Cyberpunk sequel will feature a future Chicago, rather a city that has the feel of a dystopian version of the city. It may well be a take on future Chicago, but that isn’t confirmed based on these comments. There is also some debate about whether Cyberpunk 2 will expand upon the Night City that’s in Cyberpunk 2077 or feature a new version, and the extent to which it is playable. It sounds like we'll have to wait some time to find out. CD Projekt is of course focusing on The Witcher 4, and CD Projekt co-CEO Michał Nowakowski has suggested Cyberpunk 2 won’t be out until at least 2030. Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images. Egotist, terrorist, lovable scamp: these are descriptors I associate with Johnny Silverhand, the Cyberpunk setting's mashup of David Bowie and Andreas Baader, who was played by Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077. Reeves, god bless him, hasn't been shy about voicing his desire to play the character again. Which sounds like it'd be pretty tough, given his story is pretty well wrapped-up in 2077 and his actual mortal body has already been dead for decades by that game's start... It makes all the sense in the world that so many great survival experiences lean on a gritty, post-disaster setting. No matter who you are, life in the apocalypse is going to be rough. However, two of our favorites, Stalker 2 and Frostpunk, couldn't be more different. The realistic, immersive FPS game and the sub-zero city builder push you in different ways, but both expertly make you feel the pressure of surviving in the toughest of environments. Despite the recent hike in Game Pass prices, Microsoft's subscription service continues to push out older titles to make room for new blood, and sadly Stalker 2 and Frostpunk are next in the firing line. Video game consumers spent twice as much on remakes as remasters in the last two years, according to new research by Ampere Analysis. According to research, video game remakes and remasters released across 2024 and 2025 attracted 72.4 million players across Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam, with these consumers spending some $1.4bn on premium full games and microtransactions. Notably, Ampere found that across 42 titles examined (15 remakes and 27 remasters released between January 2024 and September 2025), global spending on an average remake was more than twice that of the average remaster at 2.2x. Celebrity cameos in videogames are hit and miss. Nicki Minaj in Warzone? Big nope for me. Kevin Spacey in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare? Certainly something. But sometimes, it's just perfect. Charlie Cox and Andy Serkis in Expedition 33, for example, or Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba in Cyberpunk 2077. But, for the universe's creator Mike Pondsmith, getting Reeves - "the nicest guy on earth" - play the "incredible jerk" that is Johnny Silverhand felt pretty ironic.
