Kai Cenat’s six-hour May 24 stream beat his Elden Ring broadcasts thanks to an unexpected celebrity appearance from Kevin Hart. From time to time, celebrities visit popular streamers. But it’s safe to say there’s not often been a cameo of Kevin Hart’s brevity. The Pit of Artificers is one of the very best endgame features added to Diablo 4 in the major Season Four update, but even with how fun and challenging the echoes have been, there’s still room for improvement—especially, some players are claiming, when it comes to visibility and one-shot mechanics. As you progress through the levels of the Pit, you will encounter new dangers, various mobs, some of which consist of elites, and echoes of past bosses like Lilith and the Tomb Lord. It’s more than a challenge to defeat them and the boss of the Pit simultaneously. While it’s doable, players agree that the one-shot mechanics need to be “tuned” and the visibility of the echoes attacks (as well as the echoes themselves) need to be improved at the higher levels because they’re basically, as some players have put it, “shadowy and transparent.” View the full article

At the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Los Angeles Regionals this weekend, we saw multiple players intentionally attacking and knocking out their own Pokémon. Here’s why. As Pokémon players, we’re taught to knock out all Pokémon on the opponent’s team while trying to keep our team healthy. However, at the highest level of play, there are certain situations where it’s actually beneficial to ******* and knock out your own Pokémon—even if that sounds counterproductive. At the L.A. Regionals, that’s exactly what top players like Alex Underhill and Joseph Ugarte did on-stream during their matches. View the full article
Team Falcons has overcome a banger new Dota 2 patch and a late rally from Gaimin Gladiators to take out DreamLeague Season 23, locking in back-to-back DreamLeague titles and securing themselves a spot at Riyadh Masters 2024. Falcons was all but assured to make the Saudi Arabian mega-event in July after a purple patch of form over the past few months, but the 3–0 sweep of Gaimin—and a completely clean upper bracket run without a match lost—accentuated the team’s dominance over professional Dota this season. In fact, had they not split their groups series against Shopify Rebellion, Falcons would have clean-swept the entire event. View the full article

Days before it begins, Niantic dropped the first teaser for Pokémon Go’s next season—Shared Skies. It wasn’t a full reveal, but it did show several key components, including the return of Mega Rayquaza after almost a year of absence. Shared Skies will be the next Pokémon Go season, taking over for the World of Wonders on Saturday, June 1 and running through to Tuesday, Sept. 3. That’s an odd extension that carries it over the usual three months, so it may be worth keeping an eye on what Niantic has planned for August around the end of the season. View the full article

A prominent character in Fallout 4 shares an uncommonly tragic fate with one from the Fallout TV show. Although the Fallout video games and TV show don't share any major characters, they do share lore. That means they feature a lot of the same concepts, and characters with similar backgrounds. These tenuous connections reveal which kinds of stories are common in the Wasteland, which in turn helps characterize the world of Fallout's setting. View the full article
Let's kick off another week of bargain hunting for bangers. Today's all about Rockstar must-owns that are nearly half-off, *********'s Creeds that are exactly half-off, and multiple reduced entrypoints into Elden Ring. The shadow of that Erdtree DLC is getting closer. You need to be levelled up (considerably) and ready for some serious pain. So get on the grind. In retro news, I'm celebrating the 14th birthday of Guitar Hero: Metallica, an S-ranker of that franchise. Before the series devolved into the nonsense of Warriors of Rock or the "microtransacted songs you don't actually own" grift of Guitar Hero Live, the 7th installment was dedicated to one of the greatest bands of all-time. I still have fond memories of tackling Expert+ drums with an extra pedal bought for purpose, a weirdly cartoony campaign, and 28 master tracks with a great ratio of peak 'Tallica to inspo from other metal legends.
