Fortnite is a free-to-play game that thrives on players’ cosmetic purchases, such as skins, skin styles, gliders, and emotes. Who wants to be a regular soldier when you can play as your favorite anime character or a human-sized banana named Peely? Fortnite has had hundreds of cosmetics for ***** in its Item shop over the years, which rotates periodically to showcase new and returning items. These goodies range from your run-of-the-mill Commons to the cream of the crop Legendaries, signified by the classic greens to oranges. View the full article

  6. Photo by Tom Warren / The Verge Owners of Intel’s latest 13th and 14th Gen Core i9 desktop processors have been noticing an increase in game crashes in recent months. It’s happening in games like The Finals, Fortnite, and Tekken 8, and has even led Epic Games to issue a support notice to encourage Intel Core i9 13900K and 14900K owners to adjust BIOS settings. Now, Intel says it’s investigating the reports. “Intel is aware of problems that occur when executing certain tasks on 13th and 14th generation core processors for desktop PCs, and is analyzing them with major affiliates,” says an Intel spokesperson in a statement to ZDNet Korea. 8. Yup, this month just has too many cool Fallout things too keep track of. While you're probably aware of The Fallout TV Show, which we've just learned is now dropping via Amazon Prime on April 10, a number of fan projects and creations have also been arriving as part of the Fallout mania. The latest of these is the first trailer for Fallout: Breaking, a new fan film from someone you might be familiar with if you're a series veteran. For those who aren't, here's a little refresher. Back in the halcyon days of 2011, when the idea of a Fallout TV or movie adaptation seemed a little more like a pipe dream, Fallout: Nuka Break came out. Originally planned and released as a fan film, it ended up becoming a web series that ran for a couple of seasons, got some spin-offs, and was even referenced in Fallout New Vegas - via the Nuka-Breaker, a Nuka Cola sign melee ******* that's part of the **** Runners' Arsenal DLC. Now, Nuka Break's creator, Zack Finfrock, is back with the first trailer for a new fan film he's been working on, dubbed Fallout: Breaking. As well as featuring a Nuka-Breaker - don't worry, someone does get hit with it - the first trailer for Breaking focuses on the main character, Twig, Finfrock's role from Nuka Break that he's reprising. 10. As a ranked VALORANT player, you may often find someone who gives their KDA primordial importance and discriminates against any players with a poor history even before the match has begun. VALORANT players on Reddit have raised their voices on a similar issue on how third-party applications like ‘Blitz.gg’ and Tracker applications have “ruined” the experience of the ranked matches where there is too much emphasis on the previous results of players rather than focusing on the game at hand—which could potentially go either way. 12. Daisy Ridley is set to return as Rey in an upcoming solo outing for the Star Wars character, but she apparently didn't sign up right away. A new Star Wars trilogy was always going to be somewhat controversial, no matter how good the films ended up being, because to put it perhaps slightly unkindly, Star Wars fans can be a bit annoying. I get it, you love this massive universe filled with all kinds of wonder! But you can stop complaining about The Phantom Menace now, it's not actually that bad. Of course, the new trilogy of films did go on to be received quite radically differently depending on who you asked, resulting in a difficult time for its cast, but in a new interview with Empire, Ridley has said she's "coming in a bit more eyes wide open" to her next stint as Rey. "I suppose I feel more like I’m owning it. I suppose I owned it the first time. Basically, I’m an ****** now. I certainly did not feel like an ****** at the time. Obviously, personally, things have changed, and professionally, I’ve had lots of other experiences, and so I definitely feel like it’s a different thing this time." Ridley still has a lot of love for the films too, even with all the conversations (and harassment) surrounding them, going on to say "There's just a lot of joy with me and these films. Honestly, if I wasn't excited, I wouldn't have done it. It feels like a great thing to be a part of." Read more View the full article
  13. Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch believes the ‘$70 game’ will eventually become a thing of the past, as developers move to reduce costs and risk in an increasingly challenging AAA games market. Speaking to IGN, former interim COO of Embracer Karch discussed Saber’s divestment from the troubled group, and where he sees Saber’s place in the market as a standalone publisher. The exec said he believes Saber, which encompasses studios like Nimble Giant (Star Trek Infinite), 3D Realms (Ion Fury), and potentially 4A Games (Metro), occupies a position between independent studios and AAA publishers. 14. Greetings! We're deploying a new hotfix, 4.2.3, to tackle some more bugs and fixes within Total War: WARHAMMER III. Here's what we've got: Fixed a High Elf battle map that was offset, causing reinforcements to appear behind hard collision. Fixed Ghoritch not displaying correctly in Throt's quest battle "Whip of **********." Fixed an issue in Wulfrik the Wanderer's quest battle "Sword of Torgald" where reinforcements were not entering the battle. Fixed an issue in Orion's quest battle "***** of the Wild" where the constant damage applied to the player was too intense. The Vampire Coast Gunnery Wight Hero now correctly uses all 5 model variations in the campaign. Drycha's "Stolen Power" trait now correctly applies to all tree-type units. Fixed Nakai's settlement occupation option tooltips which were listing the wrong units that they are applied to. (thanks Zerkovich - great video!) Fixed a missing tooltip to the Chivalry cost in the Bretonnia technology tree. Fixed the Boon of Chaos "Chaos Knight Leader" which was not functioning for Exalted Heroes of Khorne or Tzeentch. Fixed Vampire Coast having the wrong landmark building in the ****** Pyramid of Nagash settlement. Fixed an issue where the Daemon Prince had two port building chains in the ***-Chow settlement. The "Arcane Exemplar" boon of chaos for Tzeentch characters had the stated unlock condition of "End your turn with less than 30 Winds of Magic reserves" but also unlocked when ranking up in channeling stance. The text and requirement have been updated to be just ranking up in the channelling stance. The Norsca technologies that increase sacking income from specific races now apply to all races that had relevant follow-up technologies. Fixed the Star Chamber building increasing all Lord ranks rather than just Slann Mage Priests when replacing Lords. The Tzeentch redline skill "Incendiary Ascent" now gives a bonus to missile strength of Flamer-type units rather than ******* strength. Replaced Repanse's combat skill "Indomitable" (leadership bonus) with "Tenacity" (hitpoints bonus) as she has a skill that grants the Unbreakable attribute, making it redundant. Fixed the "Dark Portal" Gift of Chaos not applying to Daemon Prince and characters mounted on the Chaos Warshrine. Fixed missing faction colourings on unit cards and portraits for Druzhina, Celestial General, Hag Witch, and Doombull. The Cathay technology "Administrative Subsidies" now correctly lists the Peasant Horsemen unit in the effect description. The Gate Master's "Bulwark of the Gate" ability now properly disables when he moves. Added the Changebringers unit to the Daemon Prince skills "Commanding Change" and "Barrier of Flame." Fixed the Kislev red line skill "Skirmisher Traditions" applying to Kislevite Warrior units below rank 7 and applying to the Regiment of Renown units twice. Aekold Helbrass's skill "Thornshroud Brethren" now also applies to the Knights of Immolation Regiment of Renown unit. Fixed the Cathay trait "Wise" not having the same effects for both Heroes and Lords. (Lords now get the spell intensity bonus, too.) Greenskin factions now correctly start campaigns with the technology "Waaagh!" unlocked. Fixed an issue where income could decrease after owning a huge number of settlements. Fixed an issue where Saytang's flame VFX in the character details UI lacked transparency, unlike its campaign map model. Flames along the wings now display correctly with the intended transparency effect. Resolved an issue causing unnatural arm and leg twists in Druzhina's idle ********* stance animation. Fixed a visual clipping issue where the saddle of a warhorse intersected with the gate master's model during mounting. The saddle now correctly sits on the warhorse without clipping through the gate master. Fix characters in pre or post battle sometimes displaying the wrong scale or position. Fixed an issue with the Grace of Quai Yin Regiment of Renown unit where the model would glitch when viewed close up. Corrected an issue where the 3D porthole animation for an Ice Witch, regardless of variant, did not play while mounted on an Ice Wyrm. The Ice Witch now animates properly in the 3D porthole when mounted. Fixed issue with Gatemaster on horse only ******* once. Now fires twice in his ***** animation. Fixed an issue where the mounted Druzhina did not dock his bow correctly when dying with the bow in hand. Corrected the animation issue causing the Gate Master's cape to clip during running. Yuan Bo's Dragon skeleton no longer leaks out of his body during matched combat. Improved stability by fixing crashes related to GPU device lost events and improved recovery mechanisms after device lost events. Addressed an issue where Volkmar the Grim's staff did not display blood during battle. The staff now visually accumulates blood as expected in combat scenarios. When performing the Rite of Allegiance as Nakai, the attrition will now correctly apply only to enemies of the Defenders of the Great Plan, rather than all factions within their territory. Fixed the capture weight of Malicious Treemen. Fixed a flickering which can appear on the screen when looking in the general direction of the ***** entrance in Forge of Souls. Vampire Fleet Captains with Polearms now have the Charge Defence vs Large and Charge Reflect attributes. Astragoth Ironhand Set bonus: ****** Hammer of Hashut cooldown: 40% → 33% Armour: +20 → +10 Fixed the Melee Profile and Physical Resistance amount of several Ethereal Units. Fixed non ****** Ark lords appearing in the ****** Ark recruitment menu. Readying up in multiplayer battles now immediately locks your army UI to prevent you from making edits that look like they are being carried out but actually aren't. Removed splash attacks from the Akshina Ambushers. Fixed a ****** that could occur when resolving a battle during the end of a turn. Fixed an issue with Skaven Warpfire Throwers when transitioning between walking and running animations. Fixed Kairos's skill "Bewitching Potency" not applying "Mastery of the Elemental Winds" to Cultists mounted on Warshrines. 16. On April 8, North ********* citizens could experience a solar eclipse. One Counter-Strike 2 player, SirYuwi, created a special Zeus skin to celebrate the rare event. The CS2 skin is called Celestial Moon and has a few patterns, each based on a purple, night-like background, with gray clouds and the moon appearing on different parts of Zeus. In one pattern, the button by the end of the barrel covers the moon, adding some spice to it. It has a dreamy vibe, almost allowing you to put enemies to sleep with the bolt of lighting that comes out of it. View the full article
  17. Noita! A wizardly 2D dungeon crawler without compare, in both good and deranging ways. Man, it feels like only yesterday I equipped something without looking and suddenly everything that damaged me caused me to teleport at random. I flew through entire levels this way like a Tardis set to shuffle, bumbling into one ****** posse after another, granted a few seconds at a time to assess my surroundings before the sorcery swept me deeper. Behind me, meanwhile, whole layouts exploded as lakes of pixelated lava, acid and other substances which I’d nudged in passing overflowed and combined and transformed. Noita! Heaven help us all, they’ve released a big new update, after all these years. Read more View the full article

  19. There’s what looks like a bug (not that kind!) in Helldivers 2 that has left some players scratching their heads — and the developer of the game is certainly having fun with it. Players noticed the unannounced addition of the ‘Catalogue Expansion’ ship module for the bridge. According to its description, this adds “new stratagem permits” to the ship management terminal for purchase. But the description for its upgrade effect is lifted from the ship module viewed prior, rather than its own distinct descriptor. Developer Arrowhead then leaned into the Helldivers 2 narrative to warn players not to buy the ship module with a statement written as if it were coming from the game’s fictional Super Earth government: “ALERT: ROGUE ITEM DETECTED,” the statement published to the Helldivers Discord begins. “The Ministry of Truth has confirmation that a rogue item called the ‘catalog expansion’ is temporarily visible in the Ship Management menu and, in accordance with regulations, we instruct all Helldivers to avoid this rogue item until further notice. The Ministry of Truth cannot confirm the reliability or safety of this item, nor can they confirm its origin.” Of course, that statement sparked something of a frenzy, with players jumping into the game to buy the ship module just to see what all the fuss was about (it doesn't appear to do anything). But while it seems clear that this ship module relates to a bug of some kind, some players were left confused. “Leaning into the game's narrative here is actually really confusing me,” said redditor Reasonabledwarf. “Are they telling us to not buy it, or not buy it wink?” Others believe the statement is Arrowhead leaning into the game’s narrative to admit there are new stratagems and ship modules coming to Helldivers 2. New stratagems are expected at some point, of course — Arrowhead has released a handful since the game’s explosive launch in February. “Its description in-game is having me believe that this is their way of ‘announcing’ that there are new stratagems on the way,” offered xXzeregaXx. “They are basically telling us ‘oops’ that shouldn't be there, don't buy it right now. It's not ready to be released,” added OmegaXesis. “But this is also hinting that new stratagems and ship upgrades are probably on their way.” The Helldivers 2 community is currently in ‘what happens next?’ mode after the successful eradication of the Automatons. As players wait with baited breath for Game Master Joel’s next move in Helldivers 2’s ongoing Galactic War, players are descending upon the poor Terminids. Helldivers 2’s next Premium Warbond, called Democratic Detonation, launches April 11. Perhaps we’ll know more then. If you’re looking for more on Helldivers 2, check out IGN’s feature on the Let Me Solo Her of Helldivers 2, a player who has answered over 100 **** Beacons as part of a mission to help others. Helldivers 2 has become one of the surprise hits of 2024 since launching in February, topping the charts on Steam and reportedly selling around three million copies. According to at least one analyst, it's still growing. Check out IGN's Helldivers 2 review to find out why it's going down so well. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. 20. Paramount's ambitions are high when it comes to Sonic, as the franchise's lead producer wants them to be "Avengers-level events." It can't be denied that the Sonic movies are popular. Both of them sit within the top 10 highest-grossing video game film adaptations, and they've definitely relit a spark in the Sonic fandom, even if the movies haven't translated into overwhelmingly strong video game sales. Even still, franchise and series executive producer Toby Ascher has some bold plans for the live-action Sonic universe. Speaking to Paste about the Knuckles series, Ascher said, "We got really excited about the idea of expanding our characters in our world into television, specifically, because it gives us a platform to really do character studies. "We knew that, with Shadow coming into Sonic 3 and some of the ******* things that we want to do, the Sonic franchise on the movie side is going to be these Avengers-level events. They're going to be these big, exciting stories that have a lot of different characters. And so what television did for us is it gave us time to go into some of the more supporting characters in depth and really build them out in cool ways." Read more View the full article

  23. Boo! You know the Fallout TV Show, that thing that was originally gonna drop on April 12, and up until today we all through was dropping on April 11?
