  1. The 1.6 Update for Stardew Valley may have improved the game more than anyone ever expected but one of the most lauded features just got even better thanks to an excellent new mod. Gifting the NPCs of Pelican Town with their favorite items is one of the key aspects of the farming RPG as players are encouraged to really learn what the characters like and dislike. Previously, it always felt a little hollow since giving a gift was always met with a handful of repeated responses but fortunately, that's no longer the case. View the full article

  4. Players will be able to enable proximity chat in Fortnite's Creative game mode soon. In the early days, Fortnite was exclusively a PvE game through Save the World, though things wouldn't really take off until the Battle Royale game mode arrived a few months later. As the game's popularity increased, Epic Games decided to explore more options with Fortnite. The Playground game mode was a hit, as it allowed fans to create their matches with a small group of friends and customize certain features, such as fall damage and friendly *****, in order to have fun on Athena island, the OG Fortnite map. 5. Gigantic is a surprisingly complex MOBA/Shooter with plenty of deep mechanics. Most of this depth comes from the abilities system. Let me show you how to upgrade abilities in Gigantic and how they work. How to upgrade your hero abilities in GiganticBefore we start, it’s worth noting that you cannot upgrade your abilities in Rush. The Rush mode is designed for shorter games, and every character comes with upgraded abilities out of the box. You can only upgrade abilities in the Clash game mode, which you’ll unlock when you reach level 10. If you want to try the game mode out a little earlier, you can create a custom game and play with friends or bots. How to upgrade abilities in ClashYou level up over time as you play Clash and earn points to spend on upgrades each time you do. You can spend a point by pressing L-CTRL (Square/X on a controller). 8. The multiplayer FPS which fools would tell you is named PUBG: Battlegrounds has added destructible terrain in an update today, letting you dig your own ***** or punch through to enemies. Some might tell you this is inspired by Fortnite or Minecraft, especially considering you can dig with a pickaxe, but in my heart it's further confirmation that Plunkbat is a stag & hen weekend simulator. After all, you can have your stag do at Diggerland. Awright lads, where we digging? Read more View the full article
  9. The first thing you do in Gigantic is choose a Hero: Lord Knossos or Beckett. Since you don’t know why you are selecting a Hero, what it’s for, or how these Heroes play, this decision can be a confusing one in Gigantic.Which Hero in Gigantic? Lord Knossos or Beckett, explainedTurns out, the decision for Lord Knossos or Beckett isn’t too deep. I was worried that I would be locked out of the hero I didn’t pick. That isn’t the case. The decision here is simply which Hero you want to play as during the tutorial.Screenshot: PC InvasionI was disoriented when the first thing I saw when playing Gigantic for the first time was the option to select Lord Knossos or Beckett. I wasn’t sure why I was making this decision and what its ramifications were. The only information you get is that Lord Knossos is a melee Hero and Beckett is ranged Hero. You’ll be able to play as with Lord Knossos and Beckett in any match because, unlike a few othe...View the full article

  11. When you just want to play games after a busy day at work or school, nothing is worse than a Network Error. Sadly, there’s no universal solution, but I can show you a few things to try. Here’s how to fix a Network Error in Gigantic. How to repair a Network Error in GiganticI’ve encountered the Network Error screen multiple times during my time with Gigantic. The most effective way I’ve found to fix it is to press ALT+TAB to minimize the game window and close it via the icon on the Windows toolbar.Whenever I close the game this way, the problem is resolved when I turn the game back on through Steam. I’ve run into most of my Network issues shortly after leaving a match or my party disbanding. If you can get into matches but run into the same problem, hopefully, this simple fix will work for you.If this doesn’t work, here are a few more things you can try:Check Down DetectorIt’s best to ensure the problem is on your end before you...View the full article

  15. Helldivers 2’s ******* of relative stability lasted just two days, with developer Arrowhead unleashing the full might of the Automatons upon Super Earth forces. After some players had hoped for the addition of a third ****** faction to the explosive third-person PS5 and PC co-op shooter, Arrowhead has now released a new Major Order calling on the Helldivers 2 community to hold back the latest Automaton invasion fleet. On April 7, Helldivers 2 players were told they had completed their mission to completely eradicate the Automaton threat. “You did it, Helldivers,” read an in-game statement. “Operation Swift Disassembly was a success! With the bots eradicated and bugs contained, the galaxy is free once more.” But this proved to be short-lived, as today, April 9, following the release of patch 01.000.202: “Somehow, the Automatons returned.” “As suspected all along, the previous **** force was merely a vanguard," reads a fresh statement. "A massive fleet has now begun an ******** of Cyberstan and the surrounding planets. Helldivers, hold back this unprovoked invasion. The ****** continues!” The in-game galaxy map now shows the Valdis Sector under complete Automaton control, with a number of new planets in the Lacaille and Hydra Sectors available to play. The Helldivers 2 community now has just three days to succeed in the defence of at least five planets. What happens if the community fails is unknown, but the Hydra Sector is just three sectors away from the Sol System, home of Super Earth. This is the latest twist in Helldivers 2’s ongoing meta narrative, a fascinating push and pull to liberate planets from alien control, all driven by [Hidden Content]. But this move was perhaps expected by most players. No-one truly believed Arrowhead would simply pull the Automatons as one of Helldivers 2's two ****** factions, never to return. The question was how soon the bots would make their comeback, and the answer was: very soon! If you’re looking for more on Helldivers 2, check out IGN’s feature on the Let Me Solo Her of Helldivers 2, a player who has answered over 100 **** Beacons as part of a mission to help others. Helldivers 2 has become one of the surprise hits of 2024 since launching in February, topping the charts on Steam and reportedly selling around three million copies. 16. If you're trying to play Monster Hunter Now today, you may have noticed a pretty big issue for a title that revovles around you going out into the world and slaying massive beasts: there are no monsters on the map. I figured this out for myself at 6am this morning in London, and other players over on the Monster Hunter Now subreddit have also registered their annoyance at a bug that's preventing monsters from spawning on the overworld map. If you're reading this, then you're probably looking for a fix, right? Well, there's a little bad news for you: restarting the device and/or re-installing the app does not fix this issue – it's tied more to something on developer Niantic's end, and was caused by a bug in the most recent update. 17. Hold on to your Space Earth military helmet, Helldivers 2's automatons have just returned, you know, literally a day or so after they were soundly defeated and believed to be eradicated by players. Sadly, that doesn't look to be the case, as the bots have just launched a fresh ******** on a bunch of planets. If you're out of the hoop, here's a quick rundown of what's been happening in Helldivers lately: players ****** automatons, automatons get defeated, arrowhead says automatons are gone forever, no one believes that - especially since it means game's PS5 platinum trophy would seemigly be unearnable going forwards, players ****** bugs, players get close to defeating bugs, automatons return. Now, I'm gonna remember to take a breath. The return of the automatons was announced via the game's official Twitter account. "Somehow, the Automatons returned," Arrowhead wrote, not doubt via a social media manager laughing at their own Star Wars reference. Read more View the full article

  24. It's perhaps a critical ***** end to try and define and singularize what videogames 'ought to be,' but Firaxis, beloved creator of Civilization and the overlooked Marvel's Midnight Suns, has come the closest to what I think is the philosophical essence of great game design. You've got crisp, clear mechanics that are intuitive, understandable, and yet still allow for variation and player creativity. From those mechanics emerge not only a robust and entertaining confluence of systems - a really great videogame experience - but also drama, tension, and something deeply narrative. Firaxis uses game mechanics - and virtually very little else - to catalyze and tinder a rich, dynamic story, which is also driven entirely by player actions. In short, the studio pioneered by Sid Meier, Brian Reynolds, and Jeff Briggs has created not just one of the best strategy games, but one of the best games, *******. And now you can get it for cheaper than ever, at the irresistibly low price of less than $2. Read the rest of the story... 25. Baldur's Gate 3 features a rich variety of rewards for overcoming its many trials, but there's at least one situation where losing is actually the path to a powerful boon. It's not all that shocking that a complex RPG with shades of gray doesn't stick to a perfect good versus bad binary for progression, as letting the results of every encounter be predictable would take a lot of wind out of its sails. It is intriguing, however, when a gag prize opens up extraordinary possibilities for those willing to deal with a slight inconvenience in the process.
