To the surprise of many fans, one Destiny 2 player is able to completely solo all 50 waves of the Onslaught horde mode on legend difficulty. It appears that the Into The Light event was exactly what Destiny 2 players needed, as the overall experience has seemingly been a big hit. If you've watched all of Amazon's Fallout TV show by now, odds are you're either on the verge of - or already have - hopped back into one of the games in the series. You're certainly not alone in the regard, but if you've picked Fallout 4 on Xbox specifically, you might have run into the small problem of achievements just not unlocking. Yup, while it arguably feels like the vast majority of the architecture, gear, and items featured in the show - alongside all those other references, easter eggs, and cameos - are specifically designed to get you to head back to Boston, Boston's not tready to reward you for coming back. As a number of folks who've decided to emerge from Vault 111 again have been reporting (thanks, TrueAchievements), Fallout 4's achievements on Xbox aren't doing what they should be. It seems like this has been an issue since the final days of March, since which point, the poor Sole Survivors on Microsoft's console haven't been able to be thanked for doing things like saving Preston Garvey, or playing Atomic Command on their Pip-Boy. The Fallout TV show is here and, in a development I've still not fully internalised, it's good. You know what that means: Time to completely lose our minds obsessing over it, and particularly to lose our minds obsessing over what seems to Bethesda's official SPECIAL stats sheets for its main characters. Microsoft has announced the second wave of games coming to Game Pass in April 2024. Highlights include Orcs Must ****! 3, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, and the hotly anticipated Manor Lords. Out today, April 16, is Slow Bros' narrative game Harold Halibut (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) as a day-one Game Pass launch. IGN’s Harold Halibut review returned an 8/10. We called it “a wholesome, handcrafted adventure with plenty of heart.” Tomorrow, April 17, ****** Entertainment’s Orcs Must ****! 3 (Cloud, Console, and PC) hits Game Pass. Orcs Must ****! 3 got a 7/10 in IGN’s review. We said it was “very familiar to players of the second game but still a fun and goofy action/tower-defense challenge.” A day later, on April 18, EA Sports NHL 24 (Console) launches on Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play, just in time for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. “NHL 24’s new gameplay features reinvigorate the on-ice action, but its collection of unimproved game modes has grown increasingly boring with each passing year,” we said in IGN’s NHL 24 review. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (Cloud, Console, and PC) hits Game Pass as a day-one launch on April 23. Rabbit & Bear’s grand JRPG is set in a hand-crafted 2.5D world, and lets you assemble a six-party team from a cast of over a hundred heroes. Another Game Pass day-one launch is Another Crab’s Treasure (Cloud, Console, and PC), out on April 25. Aggro Crab Games' soulslike adventure is set in a crumbling underwater world. You play Kril the hermit crab. April 26 sees the launch of Slavic Magic's Manor Lords (Game Preview) (PC) as a day-one Game Pass release. Manor Lords is a medieval strategy game featuring in-depth city building, large-scale tactical battles, and complex economic and social simulations. It’s the top wishlisted game on Steam, ahead of the likes of Hades 2 and Hollow Knight: Silksong. And finally, rounding out this month is Magic Design Studios' Have A Nice ****** (Cloud, Console, and PC), which hits Game Pass on April 30. IGN gave Have A Nice ****** an 8/10 in our review: "Have a Nice ****** is a punishing but satisfying roguelike with some extremely tough boss fights, but it could be a bit less stingy with long-term progression." Meanwhile, Microsoft announced more games coming to Game Pass Core on April 23. Nintendo has announced the first Indie World Showcase for 2024. The digital showcase airs tomorrow, April 17, at 7am PT / 10am ET. New #IndieWorld Showcase incoming! Tune in tomorrow, 4/17 at 7am PT for roughly 20 minutes of announcements and updates on indie games headed to #NintendoSwitch in 2024. Watch live here: [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] — Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) April 16, 2024 As with previous Indie World Showcases, the event will be roughly 20 minutes and will feature news and updates focused on indie games heading to the Nintendo Switch. The last Nintendo Indie World Showcase was held in November; some of the announcements from that event included a Switch port of Outer Wilds, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, and On Your Tail. Though Nintendo did not tease or specify which indie games would appear this time around, many fans hope that Team Cherry will finally unveil a release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong. Silksong, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2017 game Hollow Knight, was announced back in 2019, but in the years since, Team Cherry has provided minimal updates on when fans can expect the project to release. Last year, Nintendo had a presence at Gamescom, where the company reportedly revealed and demoed a successor to the Nintendo Switch behind closed doors. Though Nintendo has yet to announce a successor to the Switch, rumors suggest the new hardware has been delayed until next year. Taylor is a Reporter at IGN. The boss of Pocketpair has accused ******** game companies of making Palworld clones, saying: “These are incredible times.” In a tweet translated by Automaton, Takuro Mizobe, CEO of PocketPair, published a screenshot of a mobile and PC game called Auroria, alongside the following statement: “Tencent is already making a Palworld clone game! In China, many companies are simultaneously developing mobile clones of Palworld, and the budgets are in the 10 billion yen-range, 10 times larger than Palworld’s... Next year, we might see many Genshin Impact-level creature (or bishojo) raising games... These are incredible times.” [Hidden Content] — Takuro Mizobe | Palworld (@urokuta_ja) April 16, 2024 Auroria, which has a Steam page as well as mobile store pages, is developed by ******** studio Tianjin Wumai Technology Co., Ltd. According to its description, Auroria is an open-world, multiplayer, and cooperative sandbox game in which you design a base, “survive with your pals,” and start your own interstellar travel “in a relaxed and fun way.” Auroria sounds and, based on screenshots and trailers, looks a lot like Palworld but in a space setting. It’s set for release at some point during the second quarter of 2024, so by the end of June. According to Automaton, Auroria is published by HK Hero Entertainment Co., Limited, and Tencent. Tencent, namechecked by Mizobe in his statement, is reportedly working on a Palword-style mobile game, but it’s not the only one. NetEase Games’ Once Human has also been compared to Palworld. This is all part of a reported drive for fresh hits as existing cash cows lose their luster. As for Pocketpair, it was of course accused of “ripping off” Pokémon with Palworld, which is often described as “Pokémon with guns.” Palworld launched in January and overnight became one of the biggest games in the world, setting records not only on Steam but on Xbox Game Pass, where it is the biggest third-party game launch ever. So far, the $30 ‘Pokémon with guns’ game has seen an incredible 25 million players, with 15 million copies sold on Steam and 10 million players on Xbox. Mizobe has said the company couldn’t handle the massive profits Palworld has generated. While Palworld is one of the biggest game launches ever, it’s also one of the most controversial. Pocketpair has said its staff has received ****** threats amid the Pokémon "rip-off" claims, which it has denied. Soon after launch, Nintendo moved quickly to remove an eye-catching Pokémon mod, then The Pokemon Company issued a statement, saying: "We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to Pokémon." IGN asked lawyers whether Nintendo could successfully sue. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. If you've been narked about favourite bits of Fallout not yet appearing in Amazon Prime's unexpectedly good live-action show, hold your horses. A Nintendo Indie World has been set for tomorrow, so of course it begs the question, as it does everytime a games company hosts a presentation: will Silksong be there? The next Nintendo Indie World is taking place tomorrow, 3pm BST/ 10am ET, as announced by the game developer earlier today, and is promising about 20 minutes of "announcements and updates on indie games headed to Nintendo Switch in 2024." That's on the shorter end, even for an Indie World presentation, so don't expect news on absolutely every indie game under the sun. Nintendo normally has some surprises up its sleeves, including for Indie World, but obviously the surprise that everyone is hoping for is a Hollow Knight: Silksong release date. Now, I know what you're thinking: don't people spam "Silksong when?" in the chat of every livestream like this? What makes this one any different? Well, just earlier this week it was spotted that Silksong received a rating by the *********** ratings board. It received one back in February too, in Korea, a territory whose ratings board frequently reveals games prior to their official announcements. Ratings don't necessarily mean a game is out anytime soon, for example Silent Hill: The Short Message was rated last year, before the wave of Silent Hill news arrived in October, and that free horror title didn't release until earlier this year.
