  2. I don't know about you, but there was only one way I could celebrate arrival of Amazon's Fallout TV show just before the series dropped. I replayed Fallout New Vegas. If you did the same, the good news is that the game's director Josh Sawyer, has just shared a fresh peek at some of his development notes for the game. Yup, get ready to pause a Twitter video more times that anyone ever should in order to try and see who made Mr House's moustache look quite so beautiful in his big screen render. Sadly that detail doesn't look to be in there, but there are a few other interesting nuggets. In a thread that Sawyer would later reveal to be the result of him looking for his copy of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, he shared quick flicks through three notebooks he used during New Vegas' development. The dates attatched to the contents suggest that these notes start around 2009, when the team was working on building the base game's world and quests, and run all the way up until 2010, when they'd moved on to working on things like fine-tuning the mechanics of weapons and planning for some DLC. 3. The final season of World of Warcraft Dragonflight is arriving on April 23, and Blizzard Entertainment is hard at work polishing the patch. On April 16, the devs announced balancing changes, but players don’t understand the logic behind them. Blizzard is slashing the healing done by Monks, Druids, Shamans, and Discipline Priests in season four. On top of that, Mistweaver Monk is getting an additional nerf to the Ancient Teachings healing in PvP. While Blizzard lowers Monk’s, Druid’s, and Shaman’s healing output by five to 13 percent, Discipline Priest’s Atonement heals are getting trimmed down. 4. Wizards of the Coast and Dungeons & Dragons parent company Hasbro just announced it’s “talking to lots of partners” in the hunt for a sequel to Baldur’s Gate 3. It took 25 years for Baldur’s Gate 3 to arrive as a successor to Baldur’s Gate 2, and Hasbro hopes there won’t be another quarter-of-a-century-long wait until the next entry in the series—but it needs to find a developer for the title. 6. Nintendo is hosting its first Indie World Direct of the year today, April 17, and you can watch it right here with us. As Nintendo continues to put off announcing its obviously impending Switch 2 reveal, it has at the very least decided to grace us with a Nintendo Indie World showcase today. Announced yesterday, the digital presentation promises "roughly 20 minutes of announcements and updates on indie games headed to Nintendo Switch in 2024." Unsurprisingly there was zero indication as to what we might actually see during the Direct, but you won't be surprised that pretty much everyone is asking the same question - will Holly Knight: Silksong be there? No one knows for sure if it will be or not, Team Cherry has been much too quiet to get any kind of real indication on that front, but it was recently rated by the *********** ratings board, obviously fueling speculation of an imminent release date reveal. If you're eager to find out for yourself, you can watch today's Indie World showcase on Nintendo's YouTube channel when it goes live at 3pm BST/ 4pm CEST/ 7am PT/ 10am ET, or you can watch it on the livestream itself above right here. 7. Take-Two Interactive announced plans to lay off five percent of staff just weeks after saying there were “no plans” for job cuts. 8. Valve released another Counter-Strike 2 update on April 16, but the patch changed little to nothing except some minor fixes. ****** players are now flaming the developer for failing to fix ongoing issues. The patch sparked discussion on Reddit, with players venting their frustration about Valve. They said Valve made $2 billion last year but has spent almost nothing on marketing for CS2 and seemingly doesn’t care about the state of the game. View the full article
  9. As if the quirks of VALORANT’s ranked games weren’t already enough of a nightmare, Patch 8.07 has sabotaged the agent select feature—and it’s forcing players to lock agents they never intended to pick in the first place. Several reports regarding a brutal new VALORANT bug affecting a player’s ability to lock in agents showed up on Reddit soon after VALORANT Patch 8.07 went live on April 16. Apparently, impacted players are unable to lock in an agent of their choice; reports suggest the Lock In button keeps popping back up no matter how many times it’s clicked. View the full article
  10. Whenever a new ******* arrives for Call of Duty these days there’s a high likelihood it is absurdly broken for a short while, but a Warzone streamer this week has shown season three’s MORS ******* has even passed that—it may be closer to gamebreaking. The MORS has returned after a lengthy 10-year hiatus, with the CoD ******* last seen in Advanced Warfare, and it’s had a significant upgrade; a fact showcased by Warzone streamer Adio during a battle royale match on April 16. In the clip, Adio notices a pinged ******, but Adio is on a small hill and does not have a line of sight. No problem, however: Adio aims directly into the ground and fires, downing the target in one shot. View the full article
  11. Under-***** Dota 2 pro player Tommy “Taiga” Le has been dropped from South ********* squad Leviatán today after just a month as the fallout from match-fixing allegations continues to leave a mark on the 25-year-old’s storied career. Taiga was unceremoniously dumped from Leviatán on April 16, with the organization stating on Facebook the parting was mutual, though the statement did make it clear the allegations had taken their toll. “Leviatán rejects any unsportsmanlike attitude and we reinforce our values based on integrity,” a translated version of the post said. Indonesian player Kenny “Xepher” Deo will reportedly replace Taiga, according to Leviatán’s lineup on Liquipedia, for this week’s EPL World Series: America match. View the full article

  13. The Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero character roster continues to grow, as new magazine scans from Japan indicate characters like Beerus, Whis, Gohan, Videl, and Trunks will be playable in-game. Though not yet officially announced worldwide by Bandai Namco, the scans suggest that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will draw both from popular and recent major characters as well as from the deep well of story arcs present in the Dragon Ball multiverse. 15. It's surprising that season 1 of the Fallout TV series doesn't have a deathclaw. They're the most terrifying foe in the Fallout bestiary; when I think of Fallout I think of Vault Boy and I think of deathclaws. But television producers must practise restraint. They can't just toss all the series iconography into eight episodes to please nerds, much to the chagrin of Redditors and me... Read more.View the full article

  22. New screenshots of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, the next game in the beloved Budokai Tenkaichi series, confirms more characters coming to the hotly-anticipated 3D fighting game. Among its ranks of super-powered heroes is Dragon Ball Z’s oft-forgotten Saiyan warrior, Future Gohan. NEW SPARKING ZERO CHARACTERS! Beerus, Whis, Gohan, Videl, Future Gohan, and Trunks (Sword) [Hidden Content] — SLO (@SLOplays) April 16, 2024 V-Jump magazine's Sparking Zero screenshots, later shared on X/Twitter with fan translations, confirmed Future Gohan among five other playable characters bolstering the upcoming arena fighting game’s ever-increasing roster. As of the time of publication, Sparking Zero now has 42 playable characters. Here’s the list of the other heroes coming to Sparking! Zero: BeerusWhisGohan (******)VidelTrunks (Sword) Although Future Gohan is among the likes of other popular Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super characters like Trunks and Beerus, his presence supersedes that of Sparking Zero's admittedly expected playable characters as far as DBZ fans are concerned. Part of why Future Gohan in Sparking Zero is blowing fans' collective minds is thanks to the limited-yet-impactful amount of screen time he got in the series canon. Future Gohan first appeared in the Dragon Ball Z special, The History of Trunks. In it, he and Trunks serve as humanity’s last line of defense after Android 17 and Android 18 massacred the rest of DBZ’s cast of heroes. Design-wise, Future Gohan distinguishes himself from other iterations of the character because he fights with only his right arm. Famously, Future Gohan lost his left arm protecting Trunks during their desperate battle against the cyborg duo. Although Future Gohan has made appearances in other Dragon Ball games like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, his character model had both of his giant arms still attached to his body. This in turn led to the creation of a humble PC mod whose sole purpose was to "chop off Future Gohan's useless broken arm." Going off V-Jump's screenshots, Future Gohan's character model will do battle with one arm, much to the adulation of diehard fans. Limited screentime aside, Future Gohan’s ****** is most remembered among fans as the emotional push that led to Future Trunks turning Super Saiyan for the first time. Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Although it does not have a release date, be sure to check out our feature breaking down seven details you might have missed from its Goku vs Vegeta Rivals trailer. 25. The pre-order codes for SMITE 2 Founder’s Packs are available for fans to grab, reserving their spots for the upcoming Closed Alpha set to happen sometime in early May. To offer transparency, the Hi-Rez Studio CEO, Stewart Chisam, wanted to provide a loose timeline for SMITE 2‘s expected development. Nothing Chisam shared in his thorough post is set in stone, but it should offer players a better idea of when they can expect to get into the game. The full, official release for SMITE 2 shouldn’t be expected to happen for quite some time. However, a general timeline of the upcoming Closed Alphas and Open Betas is helpful for anyone who wants a better idea of when they can expect a larger roster and when they can switch over from the first SMITE to the sequel.
