  1. Season four of Diablo 4 has largely been a success. Steam reviews are climbing, community sentiment seems better, and player numbers have risen and have yet to drop down. For arguably the first time since the game launched, it's in a good position. That's something developer Blizzard recognizes and is reflected in the scope of the next patch for the game. Think of it more like a nudge, rather than a revolution. Read the rest of the story... 2. One of the affected Intel processors. | Photo by Tom Warren / The Verge For months, Intel’s highest-end desktop gaming processors have had a strange tendency to occasionally make games ****** — and despite what you might have seen earlier today, Intel says it doesn’t have a final fix for its 13th and 14th Gen Intel Core i9 “Raptor Lake” and “Raptor Lake S” chips just yet. [/url] “Contrary to recent media reports, Intel has not confirmed root cause and is continuing, with its partners, to investigate user reports regarding instability issues on unlocked Intel Core 13th and 14th generation (K/KF/KS) desktop processors,” reads a statement via Intel spokesperson Thomas Hannaford. It continues: “The microcode patch referenced in press reports fixes an eTVB bug discovered by Intel while investigating the instability... Continue reading… View the full article

  4. What's the scariest game you've ever played? Resident Evil, when the dogs first jump through the window. Silent Hill, and the opening section with the chain-link fence and the wheelchair. There's Amnesia, Alien Isolation, the Ravenholm section from Half-Life 2. But there's one forgotten PC game, from the same golden era as Myst, Riven, and Monkey Island, that is perhaps creepier - or at least stranger - than any other. Filled with esoteric and fastidiously detailed artwork, outlandish theories about the nature of reality, and one of the bleakest narratives in game history, after 30 years of silence, Drowned **** has suddenly resurfaced. 5. Pokémon TCG just announced the top 300 quarterfinalists for the Pokémon Illustration Contest 2024, but six of those submissions are under ***** for breaking the rules in more ways than one. The Pokémon Illustration Contest seeks to turn fan art submissions into promo cards, and the top 300 pieces were just announced and displayed for everyone to see. While this was supposed to be a time to celebrate all the quarterfinalists who made it to the next stage, the Pokémon community is outraged by six specific pieces that appear to be generated by AI and submitted by the same participant. 7. It must be very difficult to be making a follow up game for a series that's become legendary. You can't just make more of the same, because times have changed and so have tasted. You can't alter too much because you'll alienate the core fanbase who've been with you since the start. That's the unenviable position Dragon Age The Veilguard finds itself in and it's taking some bold moves that might pay off - or might make people very ****** indeed. Read the rest of the story... 8. After adopting a free-to-play model which was initially poorly received by the community, the Dark and Darker devs have been working on expanding it. First they allowed F2P players to carry better gear into runs, and are now letting them into the game’s Marketplace, albeit under stricter conditions. Hotfix 53 saw numerous changes to Dark and Darker‘s gameplay, such as ****** and quest balance, bug fixes, and so on. However, just like the previous hotfix, the main selling point here is the expansion of free-to-play options for players who wish to continue under this model. They will now be able to access the game’s Marketplace, where regular “Legendary status” players can buy and sell items to make an extra buck or two. F2P users will only be allowed to purchase stuff to incentivize an upgrade at some point down the line. The developers justified this with what they viewed as a “pay to win” issue arising when worse-geared F2P users clashed with fully armored Legendary-status holders. View the full article

  13. One unlucky player had a startling realization after playing 300 hours in Stardew Valley, prompting them to warn other players. After almost 13 years of the game being out, it is not surprising that fans have many hours and multiple saves in the game. Some players choose to have one save focused on a marriage candidate, another save focused on another different marriage candidate, a save for the potential of drama, and another that may be dedicated to helping JojaMart over saving the Community Center. 14. Wizard with a **** is a top-down co-op roguelite about wizards who, as the title makes clear, are packing heat. 21. VALORANT Patch 8.11 has been one of the busiest updates in the game’s recent history. With a plethora of changes to duelists and a new map to enjoy, opinions have started to rise from the player base over what tweaks landed or missed—including some controversial changes to Iso. In Patch 8.11, Iso received some major buffs to his Double Tap ability, which grants him a shield that absorbs one instance of damage from any source. Previously, he had to get a single ***** to spawn an orb that he’d have to break to gain the shield. But now, he can instantly activate one charge of his shield at any time without needing a *****.
