While Valve didn't really do anything to mark the 25th anniversary of Counter-Strike 2, they have at least put out another small update that brings in the first community maps for CS2. Read the full article here: [Hidden Content] View the full article
The Resident Evil franchise has never been more popular but fortunately for those fans who appreciate the historic value of the series, they can finally see where the saga began without needing to purchase a PlayStation One. The original Resident Evil trilogy may largely be seen as synonymous with Sony's first console but the survival horror games were ported to plenty of other devices in the months following the original release. The PC version was famous for including plenty of uncensored content but that version has been lost to time, limited to physical copies that are tough to find. View the full article

The hot and cold, gender-bending shonen classic Ranma 1/2 is getting a brand new anime adaptation. It's been a good three decades since the original Ranma 1/2 anime finished airing, and none other than the very creator of the series Rumiko Takahashi announced yesterday that the series is getting treated to a new anime adaptation. While details are pretty scant on this new anime, it's seemingly going to be completely new, though whether that means it'll carry on the story of the original, or will start things over from the beginning isn't clear just yet. However, it's not too long until we'll find out more, as a livestream is being held on July 17 which will share more about the upcoming anime series. For those that are maybe a touch too young to even be aware of Ranma 1/2, the series follows martial artist Ranma Saotome, who accidentally gets cursed to transform into a girl whenever he's exposed to cold water, but he transforms back into a boy when hit with hot water. Think H2O: Just Add Water, but for gender. And I guess also for turning into pandas? As that's what Ranman's father turns into when hit with similar conditions. It's a comedy manga, if you hadn't guessed, where Ranma transforms back and forth depending on what hijinks he gets into. Read more View the full article

Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC might have just gotten a bit of balancing designed to help make its earlier stages a bit less tough, but the difficulty hasn't stopped plenty of ER experts from blazing hrough it in less time than you can say 'I love me some Scadutree Fragments'. In fact, one of the streamers who's done just that is alrready taking on the task of trying to one shot a bunch of its bosses. Yep, forget beating the likes of the Divine ****** Dancing Lion with your brain, some people are already at the stage of asking whether they can hit all these big new baddies a single time and have them fall over like a house of cards. The streamer taking on this run is Bushy, and they've just kicked it off with a casual nine and half hour long bout of running through the Land of Shadow and trying to take down 11 of the DLC's bosses with one shot. Having teased that they might eventually try and do a run where they one shot "literally every boss in the game", the streamer kicked this one off from a save that'd seen them 100% the base game. The original Resident Evil is now finally available on PC again thanks to a collaboration between Capcom and CD Projekt-owned storefront GOG. An announcement from the latter revealed the classic Resident Evil, not the remastered version, is now available on the store for $9.99. GOG also announced that Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil will join it sometime in 2024, and a $24.99 bundle is available for those who want all three games. Resident Evil originally arrived on PC in 1996 but didn't exist on any digital storefronts until now. Steam, which has the remastered version but not the original, is expected to get the classic version soon, however, as a listing for it was spotted on ********* rating website PEGI. "In ****** efforts with the original creators Capcom, we’re thrilled to announce the re-release of the original Resident Evil, the groundbreaking series that heralded the golden age of the survival horror genre," GOG said in the post. "This iconic classic is now available with all its original content intact, featuring quality of life improvements and enhanced compatibility for modern systems. As part of GOG’s ongoing effort to protect and preserve classic games, Resident Evil is now available on the DRM-free GOG store." The original Resident Evil is where the beloved franchise began, of course, but has been somewhat overlooked in recent years as Capcom favors developing new entries in the franchise as well as full remakes of older games. These began with Resident Evil 2, however, completely skipping the original, and have so far continued to include Resident Evil 3 and the fan-favorite Resident Evil 4. Capcom is reportedly working on remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica too, alongside a mainline ninth game. Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. A recent ***** seems to confirm that the next character to debut during the Lantern Rite in Genshin Impact will be none other than Streetward Rambler herself Madame Ping. While Madame Ping was long rumored to become a playable Genshin Impact character, it was difficult to pinpoint when she'd officially join the rest of the cast. Along with Cloud Retainer, her playable model was introduced during the Lantern Rite cinematic for Version 3.4, and Xianyun herself became a playable character a year later, in Version 4.4. As the Elden Ring community grapples with Shadow of the Erdtree's intense difficulty, FromSoftware is throwing everyone a bone with the game's latest patch. One of the more controversial aspects of the expansion is the introduction of the Shadow Realm Blessing mechanic which functions as another measure of one's strength. When properly leveled, it grants The Tarnished more ******* power and better defensive capabilities but the introduction of the system has left many players sour given that the early rewards don't justify the effort spent on engaging with the mechanic. DC is moving forward with its Green Lantern series at HBO, locking the first season in for eight episodes. There's a whole bunch of projects currently in the works at the James Gunn co-led DC Studios, one of which is a TV series based on the Green Lantern. We've known for a little while now that the series is to be penned by acclaimed comic book writer Tom King alongside Damon Lindelof, who's known for creating a whole bunch of popular series like Lost and Watchmen. Now, as reported by Variety, it's been announced that the show is finally being officially picked up at HBO. Notable here is that it was originally intended to be a Max Original, but there's been a shift at Warner Bros to move back towards the HBO Originals label and branding, even for its streaming shows. Also attached to the show as showrunner and executive producer is Chris Mundy, most recently a producer on True Detective: Night Country, and former showrunner of Ozark. "We are elated to be reuniting with both Chris Mundy and Damon Lindelof as they partner with Tom for this fresh take on DC's Green Lantern," CEO of HBO and Max content Casey Bloys said in a statement. "As part of James and Peter [Safran's] vision for the DC Universe, this first new live action series will mark an exciting new era." Read more View the full article
