Ever since the release of Sony's PSVR2 headset, there have been calls from virtual reality enthusiasts to make the headset compatible with PC. It seems like Sony may finally be listening as certification for a "PlayStationVR2 PC adapter" has appeared on the Korean National Radio Research Agency website. While it may be the best VR headset directly tied to a console, PSVR2's relationship with PC VR has been rocky at best. It took an avid modding community to make the first headset compatible with PC and despite endless calls, Sony only revealed its intention to expand PSVR2's compatibility earlier this year. But is it all too late to have any impact on the likes of Meta and Valve? Read the rest of the story... We’re long past the launch era of No Man’s Sky, but part of what defined it for many (outside of all the broken pre-release promises) was just how lonely it all felt. Back then, NPCs were a rarity, and so many of the systems and mechanics players associate with the game today had yet to be implemented. But, what if you could jump to a time when No Man’s Sky truly was a descriptive name for the Hello Games space exploration title? Read more View the full article

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead is in the process of setting the studio up so it can “make more and better stuff” in the long-term, the company’s new CEO has said. In an introductory post on reddit, CEO Shams Jorjani, who recently replaced previous Arrowhead CEO and current Chief Creative Officer Johan Pilestedt, said the studio has had to adjust to the enormous success and higher profile Helldivers 2 has brought to the company. PlayStation 5 and PC co-op shooter Helldivers 2 is the fastest-selling PlayStation game of all time, having shifted an incredible 12 million copies in just 12 weeks since going on ***** earlier this year. Amid the huge revenue Helldivers 2 has generated, Arrowhead itself has suffered a number of crisis, including launch server problems and, most recently, a battle with Sony itself over the console maker’s controversial attempt to force Steam players to account link to PlayStation Network. But having to handle such a massive community has also proven difficult for Arrowhead, whose previous games Magicka and the first Helldivers, while successful, were small in comparison to Helldivers 2. Jorjanis said Arrowhead plans to “keep working closely with Sony and improve the game for as many people as possible”, despite recent events. “They're an amazing partner and we really, really really wouldn't have had HD2 if it wasn't for them.” To this end, Arrowhead plans to add to Helldivers 2 in meaningful ways to keep players interested in its live service. Some players have called on the developer to take more time with balance patches and Premium Warbond releases after recent efforts fell flat, and Arrowhead has indicated that’s what it intends to do. “We knew it would be impossible to keep up with demand and the insatiable hunger for more fun ***** to do in/with HD2,” Jorjanis said. “Our singular focus as a studio is to set things up in a sustainable way so that in the long term we can make more and better stuff. We're building a bit of scaffolding before we can make a ******* barn. ****** ‘where's the patch?????’ comments.” And finally, Jorjanis once again called on the Helldivers 2 community to avoid descending into the toxic behavior the studio has experienced since the game went on *****. Jorjanis and Pilestedt called out the surge in toxicity that came with Helldivers 2’s success in a recent interview, and Jorjanis reinforced the point here. “I'll be frank and say the same thing most game devs say - when things turn toxic the natural inclination is to retreat,” Jorjanis said. “Anyone who gets ****** threats (and worse) will naturally want to engage LESS with the community. That leads to a negative spiral with less interaction and more frustration. Pilen and I will always be active - but we will be more active the more civil and fun things are. So I'd ask you to help us to turn this into a positive atmosphere. That doesn't mean you can't criticize - you can! and should! “We share well articulated feedback about the game internally, it really resonates and makes it easier for us to do our jobs. We don’t however circulate the posts where we’re told to go jump off a cliff - even if they might have excellent design feedback.” "We're building a bit of scaffolding before we can make a ******* barn. The hope is Helldivers 2 and future games from Arrowhead will benefit from Pilestedt now being closer to game development and less distracted by business affairs. The Helldivers 2 community is clamoring for the game’s next update, which is expected to rebalance many of the game’s weapons. Meanwhile, a third ****** faction, potentially the Illuminate, appears to also be on the way. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. No Man’s Sky’s next big update, Adrift, lets people explore an abandoned universe with all other lifeforms stripped out. Adrift lets players experience Hello Games’ long-running space exploration game in an alternative universe in which they can be truly alone for the first time. Adrift removes all NPCs, which means no shops, no trading, no shortcuts, and no help. This makes for a more dangerous survival experience, Hello Games said, with sandworms now roaming free and fiend eggs spreading across planets. Buildings are broken and rusted, and the worlds are littered with graves of lost travelers. “In space a new ghostly frigate beckons for players who wish to unravel the mystery at the heart of this new universe,” Hello Games teased. To help players, a new bulky dropship called the Iron Vulture is made available. “Adrift was supposed to be our next expedition, which it is, but it’s ballooned out into an update filled with improvements, new unique gameplay content and rewards,” Hello Games added. No Man's Sky launched in 2016 initially for PC and PlayStation 4, before coming out on Xbox One in 2018, then on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S in 2020. A Nintendo Switch version followed in 2022. Over the years, Hello Games has issued a long list of major updates, most recently the 27th, Orbital. Hello Games said it has "a lot planned and still to announce." Indeed, it's a busy time for Hello Games, which alongside updates for No Man’s Sky is working on its next game, Light No *****. It's about adventure, building, survival and exploration together, set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. Forza Horizon may soon have some competition. Amazon Games announced today that it has struck a deal with Maverick Games for a "narrative-led open-world driving game," which is set to release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Maverick Games, a studio spearheaded by numerous Playground Games veterans, is leading development on the new project. The studio's leadership includes Forza Horizon 5 creative director Mike Brown. "We founded Maverick Games with a clear vision: to build a developer-first studio that would foster an environment of creativity and risk-taking," Brown said in a statement. "This approach empowers our team to produce the most exceptional work of their careers. And ultimately, that means we are creating a game that our players are going to fall in love with. "As we got to know the team at Amazon Games it quickly became clear that we had a shared ethos – a commitment to giving developers the space to really innovate in service of crafting experiences that players will find truly special. Without giving too much away, I will share that the team here is buzzing with excitement about our game and we can’t wait to share it with the world." Billed as a AAA project, the untitled game may be more story-driven than the Forza Horizon games. Its lead writer is Jamie Brittain, whose work includes the British teen drama Skins. In a 2023 interview with RPS, Brittain talked about bringing a TV writing process to the studio. "Narrative and storytelling is fundamental to being a human being, and people who are good writers are just a little bit better at expressing that," he said. “If you talk to anyone for long enough, they’ve got a story. And if you tell someone a story, people have got opinions on it. For me, that’s always been the magic of a writers’ room. Ninety percent of all the best TV shows you’ve ever seen are made that way. And it’s a gloriously fun way of doing things." Amazon Games has not announced a release date or a title for the new game. Its other upcoming projects include Tomb Raider, a new Lord of the Rings MMO, and NCSoft's Throne and Liberty. Expect more news from Amazon Games when Summer Game Fest and IGN Live kick off next week. Kat Bailey is IGN's News Director as well as co-host of Nintendo Voice Chat. Have a tip? Image: Hello Games Things are about to get a little quieter in the No Man’s Sky universe. Developer Hello Games just released the sci-fi adventure’s latest update — it’s called “Adrift,” and it introduces an alternative universe that’s completely devoid of other characters. That means no NPCs to chat or trade with. The studio calls it “the first time players can be truly alone in No Man’s Sky.” In addition to making the game lonelier and heightening the sense of isolation that was very present in the early days of the game, “Adrift” will also make the experience more challenging. Here’s how the studio explains it: This alternative universe is more dangerous too, with sandworms now roaming free and fiend eggs spreading across planets. Buildings are broken... Image: Amazon Amazon is continuing to expand its presence in video game publishing. The latest example: the company is teaming up with Maverick Games, a new studio formed by former Forza developers at Playground, to launch “a narrative-led open-world driving game.” There’s no title or release date for the game, but it’ll be coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X / S when it does launch. Publishing has become a large facet of Amazon’s push into gaming, with the company partnering with Bandai Namco on the upcoming anime MMO Blue Protocol as well as Crystal Dynamics on the next Tomb Raider game. Amazon is also developing a Lord of the Rings MMO at its internal Orange County studio, which previously launched New World. Many of these projects tie into other... League of Legends' new Ahri skin does look absolutely amazing, but when I saw the price I, like many other players, went 'yeah, that's a no.' While the base Risen skin comes in at $46, most of us had our eyes on the stunning Immortalized Legend skin, which blends the vibrant ******* and reds of Arcana with the moodiness of Coven and brilliance of Challenger. The base price for the inaugural Hall of Legends skin, however, is $200, with the premium edition that features Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok's signature costing a whopping $430. ENCE announced changes to its Counter-Strike 2 roster on May 29. Two players were benched and two new were signed in their place. While the community thinks one change makes perfect sense, they’re baffled with the other. The two players who ended up being cut from the CS2 roster are rifler dycha and AWPer hades, and they’re replaced by veteran sdy and young talent Paavo “podi” Heiskanen. Dycha has been in a lackluster form for a few months now, amassing negative stats in numerous tournaments this year. The benched ******* hades, on the other hand, has been a stand-out player for ENCE, and fans can’t believe this roster move. View the full article

Bounty Prepping is a great way to get a head start on upcoming expansions and seasons. If you want to know how it works, let me explain the best farming route to bounty prep for The Final Shape in Destiny 2.What is Bounty Prep in Destiny 2?Just so we’re all on the same page, let me quickly explain what Bounty Prep is for returning players and newcomers alike.Bounty Prepping is somewhat of a tradition before Destiny 2 expansions and can give you a sizeable progression boost on day one of the Expansion if you do it correctly. You must complete Bounties as usual, but don’t hand them to their respective vendors. The idea is to fill your inventory with as many completed Bounties as possible. When a new season or expansion begins, you can turn in all of your stored bounties for mountains of XP toward the new Battlepass, Light Levels, and any Seasonal Artifacts. You cannot store unfinished Bounties as they have an expiration time. If you were hoping that Furiosa would get a ****** and white release just like **** Max: Fury Road, you're in luck. Both Fury Road and Furiosa are quite colourful films, but there might be some of you out there that wish colours didn't exist, for some strange reason. Or maybe you just like the way old ****** and white films looked, and wished more films opted to forgo colour for reasons other than just a narrative gimmick. Fury Road did actually receive a ****** and white version following its initial release, technically referred to as the ****** & Chrome Edition (a title that goes pretty hard honestly), and now it seems like Furiosa is set to get a similar treatment. Director George Miller recently made an appearance on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, talking about all things Furiosa and more, where he confirmed that his latest **** Max outing would too be receiving a ****** and white cut. This time he's called it "Tinted ****** and Chrome" and it sounds like it shouldn't be too far out. "We've done it already. It's the last thing I did on this film, and I call it Tinted ****** and Chrome. It's really interesting, I'm still trying to demystify why the ******-and-white, for me, has something more elemental to it. I still can't quite put my finger on it. It's not because they look like old ******-and-white movies, it's something else. It's like, if we took a picture of ourselves right now, it might look a little more dramatic if it's in ****** and white." Read more View the full article
