"Deus Ex but tiny and hilarious" is how I pitch the first Streets of Rogue to people in elevators. Then I kick the elevator control panel to pieces, climb out the hatch, and cut the cord with a buzzsaw I smuggled in earlier. "It's also total chaos!" I yell, as the elevator plummets. "Ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Streets of Rogue 2 is looking similarly chaotic. But one thing has been brought to order: its release date. It's coming to early access on August 14th, while a new trailer (below) shows horse riding, flame throwing, and speed boating. My favourite moment is when a man pumps magic gas into a room full of people doing zumba, and it turns them all into giants, and they freak out and start smashing the walls in a panic. Illustration: The Verge Xbox chief Phil Spencer has confirmed that more of Microsoft’s own games will be coming to other platforms, like the PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Microsoft revealed earlier this year that four Xbox-exclusive games were launching on PS5 and some on Nintendo Switch, with fans left wondering if it would only be four titles or if there are more to come. Many people tune into the Xbox Games Showcase to see updates on new entries from major franchises like Fable, *****, Call of Duty, and whatnot, but sometimes the best highlights come from smaller titles making their debut, especially when they aren't afraid to get odd with their concepts. Case in point, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a new turn-based RPG from Kepler Interactive and developers Sandfall Interactive, which made its debut during the event. A turn-based and party-based RPG with a more realistic art style is rare enough these days, but as seen in the trailer below, the game itself has a rather unique and stunning world and premise, something that comes across as truly inspired and feels like a twist on the "**** artist" trope.
