  13. The deep discounts continue today on only the games that matter. Where was I yesterday? Getting even more impressed by Astro ****, a game that already felt like a solid preorder prospect going into that hands-on session. I'll let you dig through my fuller impressions here, but the TL;DR is that it's no slouch in the challenge department (if you head into the 'Hard' designated planets of its galaxy). As a serious 3D platformer fan who cut his teeth on ****** and Super Mario 64, I'm just as surprised as you are about this. In retro news, I'm celebrating the 11th birthday of Duck Tales Remastered, an exemplary milestone on how to nail an 8-bit glow-up. Ironically, developer WayForward was the opposite of Scrooge with this, sparing no expense on hand-drawn HD graphics, extra levels, unlockable content, and most of the original voice cast from the iconic '80s cartoon. Better yet, they preserved much of the insane difficulty—the thing that made this an absolute qwacker of a game in the first place. 16. Star Wars Outlaws is nearly here, and with Ubisoft’s space-faring adventure promising an open-world journey filled with handcrafted worlds, many are expecting it to chew through some processing power when it arrives. There’s several reasons why Star Wars Outlaws has many expecting a big game, ranging from the huge narrative Ubisoft has been teasing—which revolves around scoundrel Kay Vess and her adventures in the Outer Rim—to the many planets (some of which appeared in the Skywalker Saga over the years) and the battles, guns, and gameplay. 17. Star Wars Outlaws is the first-ever open-world adventure game set in the long-running and ever-popular Star Wars universe. There’s no lightsabers here though, with players instead taking control of the story of smuggler Kay Vess. Massive, who made the multiplayer live-service The Division series, are jumping headfirst into a huge single-player adventure. While many thought Outlaws might go the multiplayer route given Massive’s background, the Swedish devs are looking to continue the single-player Star Wars momentum generated by Respawn’s Jedi series. 21. Star Wars Outlaws is the first-ever open-world adventure game set in Star Wars‘ huge space-fantasy universe, so it stands to reason that eager players would want to explore the galaxy far, far away with friends at their sides—though Ubisoft’s narrative focus may have put paid to those dreams this time around. 22. Star Wars Outlaws is another chapter in the vast Star Wars franchise that spans a massive timeframe over thousands of years. 25. Valve once imagined that every PC maker could have their own "Steam Machine," a PC game console running the company's Linux-based SteamOS. It took a decade for that dream to evolve into the company's own internally developed Steam Deck gaming handheld, but the original dream isn't *****. The company's long said it plans to let other companies use SteamOS, too — and that means explicitly supporting the rival Asus ROG Ally gaming handheld, Valve designer Lawrence Yang now confirms to The Verge. A few days ago, some spotted an intriguing line in Valve's latest SteamOS release notes: “Added support for extra ROG Ally keys.” We didn't know Valve was supporting any ROG Ally keys at all, let alone extras!
