  1. Hanwha Life Esports shattered Gen.G’s golden road dreams, dethroning the reigning champions in the LCK Summer Split finals. This seismic victory ended Gen.G’s two-year reign and marked HLE’s triumphant rise to LCK supremacy, claiming their first seed at Worlds in electrifying fashion. 2024 marked the second consecutive year a team came agonizingly close to achieving the elusive LoL grand slam—winning all their domestic splits and the Mid-Season Invitational —only to falter one step from reaching it. Last year, it was JD Gaming from the LPL, and this time, it was Gen.G. View the full article
  2. ****** Myth: Wukong boasts over 90 boss fights throughout the whole game, and some of these are easier than others; the ****** with Erlang Shen and the Four Heavenly Kings in the game's secret ending is one of the trickiest. Once you unlock the ending, you'll have to face Erlang twice in two different forms, so it's best to be prepared for each ****** before going in. On top of these two fights, one more ****** against four, simultaneous bosses will stand in your way of beating the secret ending. View the full article
  3. Stardew Valley was released all the way back in 2016, and since then, players have enjoyed a steady stream of updates and starting farm after farm to test them out. New content is being added all the time, from additional farm types to new crops, which maintains interest and keeps its player count high. However, naturally, people grow tired of the same old games over time and will start looking for something else, and Stardew Valley fans may be looking for the next entry in the series. 4. The compelling wave-based survival and upgrade loop of Vampire Survivors won all our hearts throughout 2022, but I couldn't help wondering how it might fit a more active hack-and-slash style of action game. Enter Hordes of Hunger, a new Steam roguelike from Polish developer Hyperstrange and published by Kwalee that infuses gameplay somewhere between Diablo and Dark Souls into a Vampire Survivors style structure. My curiosity most certainly piqued by its initial reveal, I recently sat down to take a closer look at Gamescom 2024. Read the rest of the story... 5. The pre-eminent flight simulator franchise is returning with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and it's not long now until the game will finally sneak into a 2024 launch window. With a history that spans over four decades, the Microsoft Flight Simulator games have evolved from wireframe graphics to impressively realistic environments generated from satellite data. The mainline releases in the series saw a long hiatus between the release of 2006's Flight Simulator X and 2020's Flight Simulator, punctuated only by the free-to-play spin-off Microsoft Flight. 6. The creative director of Star Wars Outlaws has seen your complaints about some of the early stealth missions, and promises some changes are coming. Probably one of the most universally hated mechanics in games is stealth. Don't get me wrong, a good stealth game like Metal Gear Solid or Dishonored makes playing sneakily fun, but when it's in games where stealth isn't the entire point, it can sometimes end up being a bit frustrating, particularly when there are moments that you can instantly fail. Star Wars Outlaws is the most recent game to fall victim to this, but luckily it sounds like some improvements are coming in a patch some time in the near future. The game's creative director Julian Gerighty was recently asked by GamesRadar about the controversial instant-fail stealth missions, and what the plan is for them. "So especially, I mean, you're probably thinking of one of the early missions in Mirogana, which is incredibly punishing," the developer said. "And for me, that is a mistake, and this is something that we're going to work on improving." He goes on to say "I don't think it means removing the fail state completely, but I do think there are millions of low hanging fruits where we can make it so much more enjoyable and understandable." 7. Your name could be in Valve HQ. It's weird even typing that out if I'm honest, but it isn't any less true. If you signed the famous Save TF2 petition, you've now been immortalized in a book that sits in the building where they make the likes of Portal, Half-Life, Deadlock, and, of course, Team Fortress 2. The grassroots campaign asking Valve to do something about the Steam shooter's botting crisis worked. So to celebrate, a gift for the team now sits somewhere in the office. 8. It has been a rocky road for Starfield since its launch in 2023, with Bethesda receiving a decent amount of criticism because of the title's relatively poor performance. Despite the glitches and a tough start to life, Bethesda has continued to support the title in the hopes of bringing it to the same level as the developer's other titles, like Skyrim and Fallout 4. It has done a decent job so far, adding more content a year after launch, but one of its biggest problems persists, and it has nothing to do with gameplay. View the full article

  10. Hoping to learn more about whatever Destiny 2's Codename Frontiers is? Bungie has some details to share with you next week. Tomorrow, September 9, is Destiny's 10 year anniversary, a length of time that makes me greatly uncomfortable but unfortunately no amount of discomfort can change that fact. With that comes the fact that Destiny 2 will be leading the series into its 11th year, and back in June developer Bungie teased a bit of what's to come in that time, in particular something called Codename Frontiers. The studio didn't reveal anything specific as to what that is at the time, just that the game's journey will continue in 2025, despite the fact its most recent expansion The Final Shape more or less wrapped up the main 10-year-long story. Lucky for you, Bungie does have a bit to share about what's next for the game next week, even if in a recent blog post it has said that it's "planning to keep our anniversary fun and light." The blog post continues, "We’ll have a small in-game celebration for you all next week, along with some beautiful art the team has made throughout the years. There will be some Legendary armor freebies, a fun Title to earn, some Bungie Rewards, and more. Check back next Monday at 8am PT for our blog coverage." Read more View the full article
  11. Star Wars Outlaws features an original story starring ********* upstart Kay Vess, a would-be scoundrel whose big, lucrative dreams are complicated by the difficulties of her transition from pickpocket to intergalactic thief. On the Star Wars timeline, it's set somewhere between Episode V and Episode VI - the ****** Star has been destroyed, and the Galactic Civil War rages on. But Kay Vess' concerns, at the beginning of the narrative, are far less consequential. Raised by her mother Riko, a fellow small-time scoundrel, on the ****** syndicate-run planet of Cantonica, petty thievery is the only life Kay has ever known. View the full article

  13. Some new Genshin Impact 5.1 leaks about Citlalis abilities have emerged and, unfortunately, they already sound too similar to those of another existing character in the game. Citlali is one of the confirmed Natlan characters, though she has not yet appeared in HoYoverses action RPG. She has been mentioned in the story missions added with Version 5.0, but that has been the extent of her cameo, much like Xilonen. Citlalis release is still uncertain and rumored to occur in Version 5.2, as Xilonens release in Genshin Impact 5.1 should establish her as the only new character for the next patch. 15. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions launched with a wealth of content already available, including cosmetics and characters players could earn without spending real money, an assortment of maps from across the wizarding world, and several game modes that cater to solo and social players. Fortunately, this means that players have plenty to get stuck into when they first boot up the game, with even more content coming in future updates and Seasons. However, by far the most interesting aspect of Quidditch Champions is its handful of maps. View the full article

  17. Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 finally added in mod support, and safe to say, it's quickly proven popular amongst players. Modding Baldur's Gate 3 has been plenty popular so far, but it wasn't until this week's most recent patch that introduced mod support where it became a lot more feasible. And less than 24 hours after the patch went live, Larian Studios founder and Baldur's Gate 3 director Swen Vincke shared that more than a million mods had been installed. Just to be clear, there obviously aren't that many mods available, it's just the total count across all players installing mods, but it's an impressive and honestly slightly frightening figure. You all really were desperate to mod the game, huh? Just a few hours after that though, ModDB and mod.io founder Scott Resimanis responded to Vincke to note that the game "just ticker over [three million] installs and accelerating," so I repeat, you all were desperate to mod the game, huh? The Mod Manager does make it a lot easier to install mods, so it's no wonder so many of them have been downloaded - you can only imagine how many have been installed since then. 22. Week two of the Call of Duty ****** Ops 6 beta nerfed the game’s incredibly powerful Jackal, but also introduced a third SMG to the mix in the form of the Tanto .22—and this one is a little more unique compared to its peers. The reason? It’s got a very slow ***** rate for an SMG, but what it lacks in output it makes up for in mid-range effectiveness and damage. The other downside is a rough recoil, but with the right attachments, this SMG becomes a brilliant all-rounded for any game mode. View the full article

  24. Cid Highwind joins the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth party as a guest character, ferrying Cloud Strife and the gang across Gaia in his Tiny Bronco. For fans of the original Final Fantasy 7, it was surprising to see the last obtainable party member performing as a glorified taxi service, but his inclusion in the game was welcomed nonetheless. As FF7 Rebirth ends, Cloud and the group prepare to depart in a fixed Tiny Bronco to their next destination. With Cid still helming the transport, he is almost certainly going to be a playable character in Part 3. View the full article
