Parents will be able to pick how much their child can play Fortnite per day, select windows for when they can play, and choose if their child has the ability to ask for more time. If parents turn time limits on, their children will see an in-game notification when they have 30 minutes left on the clock. Embracing a theme of cosmic horror, Shattered Space's environments are a far cry from the base game which champions a more optimistic take on interstellar discovery. Liam Hemsworth may not have watched The Witcher show or read the original book series before being cast by Netflix as Geralt of Rivia, but he was a big fan of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The actor, who'll portray Geralt in Season 4 and the final Season 5 after Cavill stepped down, said on Live With Killy and Mark that he played The Witcher 3 at launch and was otherwise a big gamer. "I hadn't seen the TV show and I hadn't read the books but I played the video game like ten years ago or something," Hemsworth said. "It's still, to this day, one of the best video games of all time, and Netflix came to me almost two years ago now and said that they wanted me to step in and take over, and I was really excited by taking on that character because I was a fan of the video game." Hemsworth didn't say yes immediately, however, as he wanted to get to grips with the world of The Witcher beyond just the game before committing. "I said, 'let me watch the TV show and have a look at the books and really get stuck into it'," he added. When asked if he'd played The Witcher 3 since it released, Hemsworth said he's gone back to it "a couple of times" since. "When I'm not surfing I'm playing Xbox," he said. Netflix announced in November 2022 that The Witcher would continue without its leading man as Cavill walked away after three seasons. The actor hasn't given an explicit reason for leaving, though said in November 2021 he was absolutely committed to a seven season run of The Witcher "as long as we can keep telling great stories which honor Sapkowski's work." Co-star Freya Allan, who plays Geralt's adopted daughter Ciri in the show, has said she feels sorry for Hemsworth as he deals with what's "not an ideal situation," but hopes fans give him a chance. Critical reception of The Witcher is mixed so far, with IGN awarding Season 1 a 6/10, Season 2 a 7/10, and Season 3 a 7/10 and 5/10 over its split season in our reviews. "The Witcher closes out its most compromised season yet by once again losing Henry Cavill in the clunky, plot-heavy shuffle," we said of the most recent episodes. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich said the show could've ended or moved on without Geralt after Cavill's departure, but Netflix wasn't willing to because "there's just too many stories left to tell." Square Enix has provided an update on the potential for an Xbox port of Final Fantasy 16, saying it wants to release the game on Microsoft’s console but can’t share a release date yet. Speaking to Video Games, Square Enix’s Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida, producer of both Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 16, strongly suggested Final Fantasy 16 will eventually come out on Xbox by telling fans not to give up hope. "Of course we did announce the PC version of the game, so looking towards the Xbox version, we do want to release it on Xbox,” Yoshida said. “But when it comes to the specifics such as when the game would be available and such, we are not in a position to be able to share anything. But of course, I want to say that it’s not as if there’s zero hope, and we very much do want to achieve that. So players should not give up in terms of their hopes." Final Fantasy 16 launched as a PS5 exclusive in June 2023, with its PC version launching last month. IGN's Final Fantasy 16 review returned a 9/10. We said: "Featuring fast, reflex driven, action heavy combat, Final Fantasy 16 is certainly a departure from what fans may expect out of a Final Fantasy game, but its excellent story, characters, and world building are right up there with the best the series has to offer, and the innovative Active Time Lore feature should set a new standard for how lengthy, story-heavy games keep players invested in its world." Last month, Square Enix made public its dissatisfaction with Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s commercial performance, admitting neither game met profit expectations. In a financial results briefing held May 13 but only released in September, Takashi Kiryu, president and representative director of Square Enix said: "In the HD Games sub-segment, we released multiple new titles, including major titles such as Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but profits unfortunately did not meet our expectations." The company has already announced a significant rework of its business as it fights for profitability. It has a new multi-platform plan that encompasses PC and potentially Xbox and the next Nintendo console. But it has also canceled a number of games, and, Kiryu revealed, taken steps to better curate its pipeline of games. In January, Yoshida said it might be time for a younger generation to lead the franchise and helm Final Fantasy 17.
