  1. Not sure which kind of monitor to go after this year? In this article, we’ll go over the ***** and ***** of flat vs. curved monitors, and help guide you toward the final buying decision that best fits your needs. Although buzz around curved screens has ***** down a bit since the mid-2010s, curved models still make up a sizable niche in the monitor space. They remain popular among its first and strongest supporters, gamers and designers, who benefit the most from the reduced eye strain and improved viewing angles. View the full article
  2. Starfield has not been in a great place lately, especially with its DLC, Shattered Space, launching to mixed reviews. This has led to much discussion about not only the base game's quality but also Bethesda as a developer. It has, naturally, continued to defend Starfield, as well as it should, explaining that it feels passionately about it and its future. However, while many may agree, it's hard not to feel like Shattered Space's muted launch may feel like the beginning of the end. View the full article
  3. Formula Gruna is a mysterious and quite possibly nefarious elixir that can only be acquired in the third act of Baldur’s Gate 3. The elixir grants a lasting effect that has the potential to be a massive buff or a bit of a nerf to your party. Depending on your composition, it’s important you understand these effects before deciding to drink it. Even then, a specific chain of events must take place for this potion to exist, and those events start in the first half of Act Two. Here’s what you need to know about Formula Gruna, its effects, and if you should drink it or not when presented with the opportunity to do so in Baldur’s Gate 3. View the full article
  4. Most games, when they launch, experience an initial rush of sales that quickly tapers off to a steady tricky over time. If you're a live service game, you're lucky if you can keep your returning and new player numbers steady long-term. But The Sims 4 is currently dealing with the exact opposite of that trend: ten years after launch, it just brought in over 15 million new players in a year. This comes from EA's Q2 earnings, which released today. The 15 million figure is fairly shocking for a ten-year-old game, even given that the base game has been free-to-play since 2022. For some perspective, it took The Sims 4 four years after launch to reach 20 million unique players (this was back when it was a premium game). When it first went free-to-play, it gained a whopping 31 million new players out of the gate, and reached a total of 85 million as of May 2024. It's not clear how exactly the 15 million gained lines up with the last count of 85 million to give us a new, current total, but that's still a heck of a lot of people. It helps that the game has improved significantly since its initial launch, which got a lukewarm reception for being rather thin on expected features at the time. In our re-review of The Sims 4 this year, we noted that while it's starting to feel its age, "a strong community and frequent updates have kept it at the top of the life simulator genre." And indeed, a regular cadence of expansion packs and ongoing commitment to technical and community support have helped it grow massively since its shift to free-to-play. Meanwhile, it seems there's no clear upcoming successor to replace The Sims 4 and slow this growth down. EA has clarified it has no plans for The Sims 5 at this time, and while its mysterious Project Rene is holding another invite-only playtest this fall, it still seems to be quite a ways off...and perhaps undergoing some pretty big changes. EA also reported that the Madden and College Football franchises combined are on track to cross $1 billion in net bookings for the fiscal year ending March of 2025. For the quarter, EA reported $2.08 billion in net bookings, setting a new Q2 record, and $2.02 billion in net revenue. The company's shared its outlook for the full year to be between $7.4 billion and $7.7 billion in net revenue, while its revenue outlook for Q3 is between $1.87 billion and $2.02 billion. Contributing to that outlook is Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which launches at the end of this week and which we gave a 9/10, saying it "refreshes and reinvigorates this storied series with enjoyable action combat, a fantastic cast of companions, and moving character writing." EA expects to release one more game this year after Dragon Age, but it hasn't announced it yet. Per its earnings slides, this is an "unannounced partner title." Though there's no way of knowing what this will be, it's possible this will be the project recently teased by Hazelight Studios' Josef Fares, a "new IP" under the EA Originals label that we only know to be an "all-new co-op adventure." 14. The Sims 4 is bringing new life (and ******) into the franchise. The Sims 4 is no stranger to the supernatural or the macabre, with creepy elements and character lore that extend all the way back to the initial release of The Sims. 19. One of the key aspects of the grimdark far future depicted in the Warhammer 40,000 universe is the fact that the Imperium of Man just doesn't care about humans. Humanity as a thing is important, individual people are not - they are at most grist for the endless misery mill which props up the Imperium. Thankfully, Owlcat Games doesn't share that outlook and is asking for fan feedback following the release of its latest DLC for Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader. Read the rest of the story... 20. Firewalk Studios has posted a farewell message following the announcement of the studio’s closure. Parent company Sony Interactive Entertainment, which only acquired Firewalk last year, confirmed on Tuesday that it was shutting the company after its debut title bombed. The title in question was Concord, a live service shooter which Sony signed early in development for an initial $200 million, according to Kotaku. Its sources claimed that amount wasn’t enough to cover the game’s full development, and also didn’t include the acquisition of the Concord IP rights or Washington-based Firewalk itself. An earlier report claimed it cost $400 million to make the game. Read More... View the full article For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]

But if you’re not versed in the art of potion-making, it won’t be immediately clear how to complete this quest. Anyone can craft a poison or potion, regardless of skill level. Without a higher Alchemy skill, however, you’ll only be able to craft lower-level solutions. Potions and poisons come in varying levels and effects. Potions such as a Sip of Health offer health-restoring benefits for its user or can increase stamina, or magicka. Poisons, on the other hand, can be applied to weapons and offer players advantages that can often go overlooked, like dealing damage over time to a target or reducing a their resources.
