Reader, I'm in trouble. Void War is really, really good. That's good news for the two-person indie development team Tundra, who may be about to make lots and lots of money. With ****** Friday fast approaching, one of the standout video game deals right now is Final Fantasy 16 for just $24.97 at Amazon—a substantial discount from its original $69.99 price tag and the lowest Amazon price since launch, according to CamelCamelCamel. It’s unlikely we’ll see a further price drop during ****** Friday sales, so this is a prime opportunity to pick it up while it’s still available. Given the demand, this deal may not last long once word spreads, so consider acting quickly to secure a copy. Looking for more deals today? One of the best offers around right now can be found via Amazon Buy 1 Get 1 50% off *****. This ***** includes some stellar titles too, like the recently released Metaphor: ReFantazio, Space Marine 2, Balatro, and many more. It also covers all platforms, so whether you play on Switch, Xbox, or PlayStation there's a fantastic variety of games to look through. You can see some of our favorites from the ***** below, otherwise, have a look at Amazon's full BOGO page here. What We Said in Our Review IGN reviewer Mitchell Saltzman said in his review: "Final Fantasy 16 will very likely be looked back upon as a turning point for mainline Final Fantasy games, taking its combat fully in the direction of an action game, but I hope that conversation doesn’t overshadow its dark and captivating tale, memorable characters, and the innovative ways in which it helps you keep track of it all." "The Active Time Lore feature is incredible, and should be standard for all story-driven games going forward, and while the combat may not live up to the sky high standards as some of the best games in the character action genre, among other action RPGs, it’s near the top of the heap. Pair all of that with one of the best soundtracks of the year, incredible performances from top to bottom, and drop ***** gorgeous visuals, and you’ve got a game worthy of an orchestral Final Fantasy victory fanfare." [/url] As stated earlier, ****** Friday and Cyber Monday are coming up very soon, and that means even more game deals to check out. While we don't know what exactly will appear in the big event yet, we've made a few predictions on different games and items we're hoping pop up from the likes of PlayStation and Xbox. Retailers will not reveal their biggest ****** Friday deals until the big day, but most general deals will be available well in advance. In many ways, the timing of Sony's 2016 launch of the PS4 Pro couldn't have been better. The slightly upgraded version of 2013's PlayStation 4 came at a time when a wave of 4K TVs was just beginning to crest in the form of tens of millions of annual sales in the US. Purchasing Sony's first-ever "mid-generation" console upgrade in 2016 didn't give original PS4 owners access to any new games, a fact that contributed to us calling the PS4 Pro "a questionable value proposition" when it launched. Still, many graphics-conscious console gamers were looking for an excuse to use the extra pixels and HDR colors on their new 4K TVs, and spending hundreds of dollars on a stopgap console years before the PS5 served that purpose well enough. Fast-forward to today and the PS5 Pro faces an even weaker value proposition. The PS5, after all, has proven more than capable of creating excellent-looking games that take full advantage of the 4K TVs that are now practically standard in ********* homes. With 8K TVs still an extremely small market niche, there isn't anything akin to what Sony's Mike Somerset called "the most significant picture-quality increase probably since ****** and white went to ******" when talking about 4K TV in 2016. Back in the misty reaches of time (March) popular farming sim Stardew Valley got a big update that added more pets to the game (it also let you drink mayonaise but let's not get sidetracked). Those new cats, dogs, and turtles had the cute distinction of being able to wear hats, should you choose to kit your wee friends out. Now, following many months of smaller updates to the game, it seems those hats are causing a problem. "[If] you are experiencing performance issues in Stardew Valley 1.6, remove all hats from pets," said creator Eric Barone in a xeet. When asked the lore-accurate cause of this problem, he blamed: "a strange rash". Read more View the full article
This week’s release of Stardew Valley 1.6 on console and mobile has come with a number of problems, including disappearing chickens. Now, players are reporting performance issues following the release of the update, although the game’s developer has a solution. In a tweet, Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone suggested removing all hats from pets if you’re experiencing performance issues in Stardew Valley 1.6. “We will address the problem as soon as possible.” Earlier this week, Barone came up with some Stardew Valley lore to explain the disappearing chickens issue, blaming it on a wild coyote on the farm. Barone also has some lore to explain the performance issues, tweeting: “There's rumors of a strange rash affecting pets' ears in Zuzu City and we just want to make sure those ears can breath for a few days.” Yesterday, November 5, Barone revealed that Stardew Valley 1.6 added a hidden experimental multiplayer feature to the mobile version of the game. It’s unlocked using a take on the Konami Code. The free 1.6 update, which sparked a fresh 10/10 Stardew Valley review from IGN, launched on PC in March. Barone initially expected the console and mobile ports of 1.6 would be released a month later. Barone has apologized to disgruntled fans and promised not to return to work on his next game, Haunted Chocolatier, until Stardew 1.6 is finalized. Haunted Chocolatier, revealed in 2021, doesn’t have a release window. Wesley is the *** News Editor for IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. Harry Potter fans have recently learned the team behind the anticipated, albeit controversial, development of the HBO live-action reboot will share a narrative connection to the storytelling in Avalanche Softwares Hogwarts Legacy sequel. Released in 2023, Hogwarts Legacy brought every witch and wizards role-playing fantasy to life, thanks to the action RPGs immersive world jostling with familiar locations, spells, and creatures for players to experience for themselves, instead of through the silver screen or J.K. Corsair has just released a new PCIe 5.0 gaming SSD that doesn't have a prohibitive price tag attached to it. The new Corsair MP700 Elite still boasts fast speeds of up to 10,000MB/s, but it costs just $144.99 for the 1TB drive at MSRP, meaning PCIe 5.0 drives are now finally coming down in price. That's already $35 cheaper than this drive's more powerful sibling, the Corsair MP700 Pro, which has a place on our guide to the best gaming SSD, and in our experience, SSDs regularly go for less than their MSRPs as well. So what do you lose by going for the cheaper Corsair drive? Read the rest of the story... If two new hardware leaks are to be believed over the last few days, there's a brand new AMD Threadripper CPU on its way with 3D V-Cache. If true, that would mean that AMD is combining its most powerful high-core, high clock speed processors with the game-changing cache memory that has helped the company dominate the gaming CPU market. Dominance is the right word, too. The best gaming CPUs that you can buy from AMD right now, like the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, include the 3D V-Cache technology that beats the best from Intel. That includes the latest Intel Arrow Lake CPUs like the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K which underperforms for gaming. Read the rest of the story... Ogres, Orcs, and Khorne are all on the way in the upcoming expansion for strategy game Total War: Warhammer 3, and Creative Assembly have just released their latest dev vlog with a few more details on what to expect. There’s still no word on the exact title, although given the established naming convention (Shadows Of Change, Thrones Of Decay), I’m tentatively calling it “Sniffers Of Glue” in honour of the No Think, Only Krump faction selection. You’ll find the vlog in its full glory below. What’s interesting about this one is that vlog mainstay director Rich Alridge has brought along some new faces: battle designer Josh King and audio director Chris Goldsmith. And, yes, so no-one can accuse me of burying the lede: that audio design involved the enthusiastic, deeply disgusting slurping of porridge and yoghurt, and the jangling of real bones. The source of the bones is not revealed. Read more View the full article
