  2. Switch games aren't known for being cheap. Especially when it comes to first-party Nintendo titles like Zelda and Mario, you often see games sticking with an above $40 price tag years and years after their release. That's why this deals season, the number one thing I had my eye on was price drops on Switch games, and for the first time (maybe ever), ****** Friday and Cyber Monday deals have exceeded my expectations. While the Nintendo eShop has its own digital game ***** underway, some of the best Switch games have their lowest prices ever at select retailers like Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart. With major price cuts to games that typically cost upwards of $50 (looking at you, Zelda), these Cyber Monday deals aren't getting any better. We’re here to help you find the best picks for Nintendo's handheld while holiday shopping on a budget. Here's 12 Switch games under $30, and 9 more Switch games under $20. The Best Switch Game Deal, ******* - Tears of the Kingdom for $30 If you just want a straight answer about the best Cyber Monday game deal, look no further than Tears of the Kingdom for $30. Usually retailing for a full $69.99, this $40 discount from Walmart is an unprecedented deal for a first-party Nintendo game, let alone one of the best games ever. And in case you were wondering, Walmart's deal is $20 cheaper than the eShop. 11 More Switch Games Under $30: The Best Switch Game Under $20 - Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection This might kind of be cheating, but if you want the most bang for your buck, Konami's Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is over 50% off, making it my top pick for the best Switch game under $20 right now. If you recently finished Metaphor Re:Fantazio and want to check out more Atlus games, Persona 5 Royal is down to $15. 8 More Switch Games Under $20: Amazon Has Unbeatable Cyber Monday Deals on Switch Accessories If you’re planning on taking advantage of Walmart’s $30 Tears of the Kingdom deal, you’d be remiss to disregard Amazon’s abundant deals on memory cards. A regular Nintendo Switch holds only 32GB of internal storage, and the Legend of Zelda entry takes up about half of that space. But don’t fret! With Amazon’s nearly half off discount on the Lexar 1TB Play microSDXC memory card, you can ensure you have room to download all of your favorite games without spending a small fortune. When Do Switch Games Go on *****? If you’re looking to expand your game library, now is the time to do so. Switch games rarely go on *****, and when they do, they tend to sell out quick. These are some of the lowest prices I've ever seen on the games listed above, and I doubt those prices will get lower over the holidays. That said, I do recommend keeping an eye on the Deals section in the Nintendo eShop. If you’re not a Switch gamer, there’s plenty more gaming deals to take advantage of this holiday season for PlayStation and Xbox. Or, check out IGN’s picks for the best tech sales on TVs, gaming PCs and Apple devices. The launch of the Epic Games battle royale's newest Chapter brought a wide variety of new content to the game with its launch, introducing both unique weapons and gameplay mechanics. 13. The rivers of Sparta run red with blood. The oceans of Greece are filled with the floating corpses of Athenian warriors. The citizens in the streets of Boeotia cower and flee when they see me coming, for my hands are stained vibrant crimson. A legion of men and women have met my blade, and the end to the ******** is not yet in sight. For I am Kassandra of Sparta; Misthios, Eagle-Bearer, the West Wind. And I bring chaos. Not that I actually seek out destruction and *********. In fact, I largely play *********'s Creed Odyssey as a flirtatious and sassy mercenary of the people. Unfortunately, though, almost every decision I've made across 75 hours of Odyssey has led to spectacularly disastrous conclusions. And that's part of why I love it: rather than being an epic poem akin to its namesake, *********'s Creed Odyssey is in fact an interactive Greek Tragedy. Without spoiling anything, let's just say I got the worst ending possible. There was a lot of blood, and Kassandra is going to be suffering for it for the rest of her (almost certainly **********) existence. I'm the kind of player who will do everything they can to lock in the best finale so this was a big change of pace for me. Read the rest of the story... 14. Ok, you've read our PCGN awards - Best Game, Technical Achievement, and all that. Those are the sort of awards you have to give out to be a respectable media organisation. But what we're really about are the alternative awards. Anyone can try and get best game, that's easy, but you can't plan for custom awards that are made to fit games that, *****, might not even have released yet. It's awards like this that keep developers on their toes. How do they receive the honour of being selected for an alternative award? What must they do? Well, we'll give you a hint. One of this year's winners had to go to the lengths of hiring Sean Bean, putting him in a position where you ***** him, and then hope that players would tweet about it. That's some next level commitment to the alternative award cause. What can we learn from this zeal? How can we bring that next-level enthusiasm for recognition to our every day lives? We're going to try and become a one-person battle royale - which, technically, would make us the lone survivor and therefore an instant winner. Ha! Cracked it. Read the rest of the story... 15. It's hard to believe that Call of Duty: ****** Ops 4 is one of the best of triple-A releases on PC this year. This is the fourth entry in a subseries of games, which are part of a much larger series that has released in broadly the same form every year for, what, over a decade now? Few expected Treyarch to be as forward-thinking and nimble in developing and updating ****** Ops 4 as it has been, but the proof is in *********. Ditching a single-player campaign in favour of a battle royale mode was a bold move, but one that absolutely paid off. ********* is the most fun I've ever had in a Call of Duty game. Sure, you can see a lot of magpieing from PUBG in its core components, but ********* builds on them with plenty of its own lunacy, like whole areas of the map packed with zombies, helicopters, and perks. Beyond that, it's the blistering pace of ********* that has me returning to it every night of the week, playing well into the early hours of the morning. You move about at speeds reminiscent of Quake III Arena and none of the game's mechanics try to get in your way. Need to get down from a cliff or tall building? Leap off the side and wingsuit to the ground in less than a second. Low on health but need to keep moving to avoid the shrinking circle? You can heal while sprinting. Read the rest of the story... 16. Parenting has changed a great deal in recent years. There was a time, not so long ago in fact, when the idea of sourcing anabolic steroids for your five-year-old son by trading some medals he won with a distressingly large, talking slug would be frowned upon. The same was also true of stuffing your feet into the mouths of crying infants in order to keep them quiet and so, naturally, bring about the conditions in which you could take their carer's cherry. Thank goodness, then, for Amanita Design, the independent Czech studio behind Machinarium, the Samorost series, and forthcoming horror game Creaks. This heroic collective of developers decided to tackle these outmoded societal hangups head-on with darkly comic puzzler Chuchel. These days, thanks to Amanita, most parents wouldn't think twice about involving their kids in ***** deals or theft, and are rightly no longer demonised for doing so. Chuchel, by the way, is absolutely brilliant. In it you help, hinder, and torment the eponymous hero - a stroppy, fizzing ball of fluff whose apricot fur compliments his tangerine-pith lips - as he perpetually attempts to secure his one true *******: a bright-red cherry. 17. Every level of Into the Breach is like one of those ball bearing mazes that come in Christmas crackers. They're a puzzle in miniature that, with enough patience and planning, can be solved in a single faultless run. Success in both comes paired with a sense of relief, as each move towards the end carries the risk of losing all the progress made so far. This comparison falls apart, however, in that I tend to snap the toy in two before Boxing Day, yet after months with Into the Breach I'm still in love with its challenge. I spend a lot of my time playing Into the Breach staring at the screen, trying to solve the mental Rubik's cube that is each turn. The ****** aliens move into position, every one of them trying to ******* either my time-travelling mech rpilots, or the densely populated city blocks I'm trying to defend. Then it's up to me to find a way to *****, block, or move the ****** before their attacks land. For instance, a well-placed mortar shell can shove a bug one square to the east, meaning their claws will swipe at thin air instead of a skyscraper. What I've come to appreciate most over the year I've now spent with Into the Breach is its spirit of reinvention. Yes, each time you play you're diving into a new procedurally generated campaign, but I'm really referring to the squad system. Read the rest of the story... 18. It's the middle of a calm night as you climb the ladder and board the Obra Dinn. The ship is completely empty, not a soul in sight. Bleached, 1-bit visuals make the ship's edges look freckled and scratchy like someone has etched this whole vessel onto a chalkboard. The three lower decks are lined with cabins, cabinets, and closets. You'll be getting to know every inch of this ship during your time here. It's 1803 and a merchant ship once thought lost at sea has spookily drifted back to dock. It's been four years since the Obra Dinn went missing. Now that it has returned to the British Isles, contracts must be drawn up and paperwork must be filed. 19. For most of 2018, Destiny 2 has been difficult to love. But Forsaken has been a remarkable turnaround, and all the more so for its suddenness. Where Ubisoft's no-less impressive resurrections of Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor were dogged marathons, Forsaken was a dropped *****. It addressed almost every one of the community's grievances and inverted their perception of the game in one *****. So comprehensive was the transformation that some aspects of it have gone almost unnoticed. Take single-use shaders, a miserly change from the original game that dominated the news when they were first discovered on Destiny 2's launch. They're still single-use but, as with other gear, Forsaken lets you make infinite duplicates for a tolerable cost once a single copy has dropped for you. It's almost as flexible as the original's system, and yet there was so much else to praise in Forsaken that it got lost in the noise. The story is the best and darkest that Destiny has yet told (not a high bar to clear, I know). The remixed ******* slots, sensational new Supers, and exciting new Exotics have players feeling powerful again. The Dreaming City, the Last Wish raid, and long-term grinds for 'pinnacle' weapons have added fathoms of depth - or at least activity - to the endgame. Read the rest of the story... 20. A recent Zenless Zone Zero ***** is hinting at the addition of a new expansion to the Hollow Zero game mode, complete with its own level system. Alongside its main story and standard fare of combat challenges, the urban action RPG from HoYoverse offers multiple forms of endgame content for players who want to push their in-game teams to the limit. Shiyu Defense operates similarly to Genshin Impact's Spiral Abyss with a rotating lineup of powerful enemies, while the game's "Explore" commissions offer deeper maze exploration. However, one particular game mode has been one of the newest HoYoverse game's most popular. View the full article
  21. The excellent ****** Friday gaming deals show no signs of slowing down for Cyber Monday. You can still get Tears of the Kingdom and Sonic X Shadow for $30 each, Elden Ring for $20, and loads of other PS5 and Switch games for less than $30. Yet another one of these unmissable deals on a game released this year is for Persona 3 Reload for PS5, currently selling for just $25 – that's a $35 price drop from its launch price. (More Atlus games from this year – the very, very good Metaphor: ReFantazio and Unicorn Overlord – got a respective $20 and $30 knocked off their prices for ****** Friday/Cyber Monday.) Note again that this price is primarily for PS5 versions only; if you're still a PlayStation holdout, Amazon does have PS4 editions for the same $25 and Walmart is selling PS4 copies for $33. This rebooted remake of Atlus's Persona 3, probably the thematically darkest of the Persona games, came out in February and this is by far the lowest price it's sold for since release. When I previewed the game back in January, I was creeped out by the new Tartarus (complimentary) and extremely into the upgrades made from the original Persona 3, another game I love dearly. Of course, it was even better to experience it as a whole in a full playthrough. Atlus stays not missing! What We Said in Our Review In IGN's 9/10 review, Michael Higham wrote: "A stellar visual overhaul and countless small changes and additions beyond it leave a significant impact, making Persona 3 Reload a more fully realized version of a beloved RPG. Although still dated in some respects, quality of life improvements and new features refresh its exciting turn-based combat and add depth to its touching story moments. Through an incredible new voice cast that embodies these unforgettable characters and an endearing soundtrack to reforge its identity, Persona 3 Reload tells a powerful, timeless story of tragedy and hope with sharp emotional sincerity. This is the kind of remake I’ve hoped for, and even after spending 70 hours to see it all the way to its conclusion, I still find it hard to believe it's real."
