The next season of Call of Duty: Warzone will focus more on gameplay improvements than new content, Activision has said. The latest Fisch update brought a little surprise for players with a new rarity type. There are a few Secret Fish so far, but the developer could add more in the future. The announcement on Xbox Wire comes ahead of Microsoft’s Xbox Developer Direct on January 23, where fans will get to see a number of day one Game Pass games, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a mystery fourth reveal. January 2025 Wave 2 kicks off today, January 21, with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a day one release on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. “****** over and over until you master the mountain in the snowy follow up to Lonely Mountains: Downhill,” reads the official blurb. “Now supporting up to eight players via cross platform multiplayer – work your way down the slopes as a group sharing a small number of checkpoints, or risk it all in a breakneck race to the base!” Tomorrow, January 22, sees the addition of Flock (Console) to Game Pass Standard. “Flock is a multiplayer co-op game about the joy of flight and collecting adorable flying creatures with your friends. Monster Hunter Wilds’ enormous PC requirements could be lowered to provide a larger player base with the ability to enjoy the game, Capcom has suggested. Currently, the minimum requirements to run Monster Hunter Wilds on PC call for an NVidia GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT to run the game at 30 FPS at 1080p, while the recommended requirements are for an RTX 4060. Pokémon Go trainers from across the globe were greeted with a surprising W by Niantic during the Shadow Ho-Oh raid event, with the developer allowing trainers to use Remote Raid Passes in Shadow Raids for the first time—and people want it back. Debate continues to rage on the internetworks about whether premium video games, and especially the ones with the largest budgets, need to have higher price tags. This time, the culprit is Matthew Ball of analyst firm Epyllion, who remarks in a sprawling State Of Videogaming 2025 report that "some gamemakers hope GTA 6 will be priced at $80-$100 [in the USA], breaking the $70 barrier and helping $50 titles to move up to $60, $60 to $70, $70 to $80, etc." Picked up by VGC, these comments have now been circulated on social media, and have attracted the extremely polarised mixture of responses you're probably expecting. Among those chipping in is Larian's director of publishing Michael Douse, who makes the familiar argument that overall prices for games like GTA aren't necessarily higher today when you factor in economic inflation, while also acknowledging that up-front price alone doesn't explain the industry's recent mass livelihood devastation, and that few people would happily pay that much for a video game - not even Our Lord In Open Worlding GTA.
