  1. A proposed tariff on imports from Mexico to the US could result in fewer physical game releases and higher software prices. That’s according to Mat Piscatella, executive director of video games at market research firm Circana, who was reacting to tariff threats made this week by new US president Donald Trump. After being sworn into office on Monday, Trump said his administration was reviewing existing trade deals with neighbors Canada and Mexico, as well as China. Read More... 3. There's nothing I love more than a good ol' fashioned fantasy adventure. My eyes are firmly set on Monster Hunter Wilds and Avowed, then (hopefully) Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 after that. But, just a few days from now, we'll be able to play Eternal Strands, a gorgeous action-adventure game from Yellow Brick Studios that I've been excited about for a while. Blending stunning visuals with high stakes, Monster Hunter-style combat, a new demo has just dropped on Steam - I know what I'll be doing this evening. Read the rest of the story... 4. Using the best build for Lan Yan in Genshin Impact can significantly enhance the character’s value as a shielder in team comps and, with it, how well the rest of the party can perform while under her protection. Lan Yan is a 4-star Anemo character who uses a Catalyst in battle. The character is one of the four new playable units added with Version 5.3, though instead of being related to Natlan like the Pyro Traveler, Citlali, or Mavuika in Genshin Impact, Lan Yan hails from the Nation of Liyue. 5. Time flies; we all know it. Twelve years ago, the first League of Legends icons were being made, including xPeke. It has now been 12 years since the Spaniard made the legendary play we all know him for. If you ever played League, you’re familiar with the term xPeke. It means securing a ********* Nexus play single-handedly and against all odds, and it came from the former Spanish mid laner who stunned SK Gaming with that play at IEM Katowice 2013. His team, Fnatic, were fighting for their lives against SK, and it was xPeke who granted them a playoff berth, cementing himself in history forever. View the full article

  8. Although only in its first couple of months, Marvel Rivals has already made it clear that the considerable roster of characters will continue to expand. In a large blog post detailing plans for all aspects of Call of Duty, the company explained that it’s been listening to community feedback and acknowledged that it has to prioritize improving the game before it can start adding lots of new content. “Let’s talk about Season 02 for Call of Duty: Warzone,” the blog reads. “We’ve made the decision to prioritize focus on gameplay tuning, adding more quality of life, and addressing ongoing bugs. 11. For me, nothing quite beats the thrill of an action roguelike. The constant build variety. The quick combat. The flashy visuals. It all comes together in a way few other genres do. That's why I'm always raving about Dead Cells, Enter the Gungeon, and Hades. Well, another entry in the genre has appeared on my radar, and it's just got some free DLC to bring players back. This is BlazBlue Entropy Effect, and it oozes cool. Read the rest of the story... View the full article

  20. Monster Hunter Wilds’ enormous PC requirements could be lowered to provide a larger player base with the ability to enjoy the game, Capcom has suggested. Currently, the minimum requirements to run Monster Hunter Wilds on PC call for an NVidia GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT to run the game at 30 FPS at 1080p, while the recommended requirements are for an RTX 4060. Both the RTX 2070 Super and AMD RX 6700 XT have had issues in previous betas. View the full article

Pokémon Go trainers from across the globe were greeted with a surprising W by Niantic during the Shadow Ho-Oh raid event, with the developer allowing trainers to use Remote Raid Passes in Shadow Raids for the first time—and people want it back. Usually, a Shadow Raid in Pokémon Go requires trainers to meet locally in person to take it on. As you can imagine, as a solo or rural player, the prospect of getting nearly 10+ people to turn up for a raid simultaneously or go out hunting for raids isn’t exactly ideal, so many players have missed out on the feature entirely. Sometimes, you'll pop off and play like an absolute ******, but you'll still lose due to better scaling, miracle-style enemy comebacks, or - of course - your teammates being trash. What begins as an epic climb can quickly become a streak of losses, but in League of Legends you're safeguarded from immediate demotion by buffer games where you don't actually lose any points.
