The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is reportedly going to launch in a 32GB variant after the initial 16GB version launches, according to a new rumor. However, given what's been rumored so far about this gaming GPU's likely specs, it's unlikely this extra VRAM will make much difference to gaming performance. While AMD did announce this new GPU at the CES trade show in January 2025, it hasn't said much since then. There's been no official announcement on the RX 9070 XT specs, and only an early March launch window teased by the GPU maker. Given that AMD is abandoning high-end gaming GPUs for this generation, we're not expecting AMD to challenge Nvidia when it comes to the very best graphics card performance, with the RX 9070 XT likely to offer mid-tier performance instead. In ramping up for its eventual launch, Sid Meier's Civilization 7 laid out a series of issues from previous games (mostly Civ 6) that this installment sought to address. These include snowballing, micromanagement, and civ balance, three major issues that prevented Civ 6 players from completing campaigns in their entirety. Snowballing is the idea that a civilization will start small and "snowball" into an unstoppable force, placing players at an extreme advantage or disadvantage that cannot be overcome. Civ 6's micromanagement issues were of particular concern, as late gameplay requires cycling through an extensive array of units and Production queues. View the full article
One of the big problems with gods is that they don't tend to notice who they stomp on when they get caught up in their own affairs. The wind and sea gods are usually on good terms with each other but, being siblings, they're going to fight as well. This leads to storms, and storms lead to endless repairs of the damage left in their wake. Houses can be fixed but people are much more difficult to replace, and in the latest storm the aero-delivery pilot Lou has disappeared. He's a living legend so probably ok, but his family is still concerned. The best way to find Uncle Lou is by taking over his business, flying errands from one end of the archipelago to the other and repairing every inch of the islands until its secrets are revealed. Swords in Verse Piece are your best damage option in the late game. However, some swords are straight out better than others. One of those swords is Cid V2, and what's even better is that grinding for it is very straightforward. So, if you want to know how to get the Cid V2 sword in Verse Piece, follow our guide below. Table of ContentsWhat is the Cid V2 Sword in Verse PieceHow to Get Cid V2 Sword in Verse PieceHow to Farm Shadow FragmentsHow to Get the Cid V1 SwordHow to Grind for Cid's EyesRerolling the Shadow King TraitObtaining the Shadow Garden TitleHow to Upgrade the Cid V2 Sword in Verse Piece What is the Cid V2 Sword in Verse Piece Cid V2's M1 combo Cid V2's Z move Cid V2's X move Cid V2's C move Cid V2's V move Cid V2's F move The Cid V2 sword is one of the most powerful swords you can have in Verse Piece. Overall, Cid V2's kit has more damage than both Sung Jin Woo and Toji V2, but its M1s deal slightly less damage. Another thing with Cid V2 is that its V and F moves have very long animations. Still, Cid V2 is the easiest to get meta sword in Verse Piece because of how easy it is to clear the Shadow Castle Dungeon. MoveDetailsZ (41,900 Damage)You do several slashes around youX (51,900 Damage)You slam and then make a flurry of slashes around youC (42,800 Damage)You become invulnerable and start slashing in a huge area around youV (62,800 Damage)After a brief channeling, you spawn a huge tornado with beams coming from the ground, dealing massive damageF (134,100 Damage)After a very long cutscene animation, you basically detonate a nuke around you How to Get Cid V2 Sword in Verse Piece Cid's NPC is located on top of a clock tower in Frost Town In Verse Piece, you can get the Cid V2 sword by interacting with the Cid's NPC at the top of the clock tower in Frost Town. However, you will need the following materials to obtain it: Cid V1 sword, 10k Gems, 2 Cid's Eyes, Shadow King trait, and the Shadow Garden title. Gems are most easily farmed by defeating bosses in the Verse Piece Dungeons. For each of the other materials needed for Cid V2, we dedicated a separate section further in the guide. How to Farm Shadow Fragments Shadow Castle Dungeon at the Spawn Dungeon NPC You have 30 seconds to enter the Shadow Castle Dungeon portal before it expires Select the Hard difficulty before the first wave of Shadow Castle Dungeon, as the difficulty can't be changed later Shadow Fragments in Verse Piece drop from enemies inside the Shadow Castle Dungeon. However, you get a lot more Shadow Fragments per run when clearing the Shadow Castle Dungeon on the Hard difficulty. On average, you will get around 300 Shadow Fragments per run, which takes around a minute to complete. At that rate, you can purchase most of the Cid V2 components in around half an hour of grinding the Verse Piece Shadow Castle Dungeon. How to Get the Cid V1 Sword Preview of what the Event Exchange NPC has in stock There are two ways to get the Cid V1 sword in Verse Piece. First is by purchasing Cid V1 from the Event Exchange NPC on Starter Island for 1000 Shadow Fragments. The other way is to hope to get it from the Cid Boss in the Shadow Castle Dungeon. However, the odds of that happening are only 1%. On average, it takes four Shadow Castle Dungeon runs on hard difficulty to get enough Shadow Fragments and buy Cid V1 without having to rely on luck. How to Grind for Cid's Eyes Similar to the Cid V1 sword, Cid's Eyes can drop from the Cid Boss in Shadow Castle Dungeon on Hard difficulty. However, it is better to purchase Cid's Eyes at the same Event Exchange NPC for 2500 Shadow Fragments. Keep in mind that you need two Cid's Eyes for the Cid V2 sword in Verse Piece, and the maximum amount of Shadow Fragments you can have at a time is 2500. So, you will have to leave the dungeon to purchase one Eye and then continue to grind for another. Rerolling the Shadow King Trait Location of the Trait Reroll NPC in Frost Town The Shadow King trait can be obtained by rerolling your traits at the Trait Reroll NPC in Frost Town. However, keep in mind that the Shadow King trait is an Exotic trait in Verse Piece, which means you only have a 0.025% chance to get it. For that, you will need a lot of Gems potentially, so make sure to either sell your excess materials at the Adventure Shop or farm some Boss Rush dungeons. Obtaining the Shadow Garden Title Defeating Cid 10 times on the Hard difficulty of Shadow Castle dungeon nets you the Shadow Garden title To get the Shadow Garden title in Verse Piece, complete the Shadow Castle Dungeon 10 times on the Hard difficulty. You shouldn't try to aim for this title, as you will get it simply by farming for the Cid V1 sword and the Cid's Eyes. Also, you don't need to equip the title before heading to the Cid's NPC and claiming the Cid V2 sword in Verse Piece. How to Upgrade the Cid V2 Sword in Verse Piece Visit the Blacksmith NPC to enhance the Cid V2 sword You can upgrade the Cid V2 sword in Verse Piece by talking to the Blacksmith NPC on Blacksmith Isle. Each upgrade has a 10% chance of success, and it costs you one Enhance Stone to try your luck with it. On average, you need around 50 Enhance Stones to upgrade Cid V2 fully. Enhance Stones drop from any chest in Verse Piece. However, the best way to farm Enhance Stones is by fishing. That sums up everything you need to know on how to get the Cid V2 sword in Verse Piece. If you are looking to really round out your build in the late game, then check out our Verse Piece race and trait passives guides. There’s no shortage of optional glamour items available to purchase on the FFXIV Online Store. There really is something for everyone, regardless of personal styling preferences, and more items and sets are added all the time. The latest set to be added to the Online Store on February 13 is a long-awaited addition — Zero’s Attire. Now all players can fully emulate Zero’s gothic look without resorting to grinding out endless runs of The Fell Court of Troia in the hopes of similar enough, but not quite perfect ,gear pieces. Image via Square Enix The set itself is stunning, I’ll admit. It comes with four individual pieces, as opposed to some other NPC glamour sets that require you to wear the whole thing, although the gloves are connected to the chest piece, and the shoes are built-in with the pants, which is less than ideal. On the plus side, it’s fully dyeable with two dye slots, which is one-up on most of the previous NPC outfits when they were initially sold, although dye slots have since been added to a select few. That sounds great, except that one of Zero’s most recognizable features is conspicuously absent from the main set — her hair is sold separately. It’s not the first time we’ve seen this happen, but it is a relatively new idea for the FFXIV Online Store to sell hair completely separately as stand-alone items. Just over a month ago, G’raha Tia’s outfit was added to the Online Store for purchase, with his hair coming separately as well. Previous to that, the NPC hairstyles always accompanied the outfit itself. I’d consider myself pretty deeply entrenched within the FFXIV community, and yet I can’t remember a single time when anybody asked for this. What I can remember is players asking for NPC glamours to come as individual pieces rather than a full-body set, but we were never talking about the hair. Screenshot by Destructoid Changing your hair and changing your glamour in FFXIV are entirely different features, each of which has its own limitations, particularly the glamour system. You can wear any glamour with any hair, that’s always been the case. What we want is items like Gaia’s frankly stunning heeled boots but without the need to wear the rest of the outfit in its entirety. Regardless, if you want to get either of the parts of Zero’s complete outfit, you can get them on the FFXIV Online Store now, and you can have both the hair and the outfit for $17. As salty as I sound, they are pretty nice and worth paying for if they fit your aesthetic. If you really want to go all in, you can even buy her Scythe as yet another separate item for $3. A game as intricate as Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is sure to have some confusing moments, and if you’re like me, well, this is one of them. You’ll encounter the For Victory! main quest mission after helping Von Bergow interrogate the bandit in the Necessary Evil quest. Like any successful interrogation, a banquet is in order, and so begins the For Victory! quest and the search for Hungarian wine. While speaking to Chamberlain Ulrich and Von Burgow at the victory feast, Henry is tasked with procuring some wine and armor for Hans. The catch? He apparently needs to go to Katherine for the wine, or does he? View the full article

HBO is still working on several more Game of Thrones spin-offs including one "very promising" show focused on the Targaryen line, though nothing has been greenlit as of yet. Francesca Orsi, head of drama series and films at HBO, suggested to Deadline that, despite both current Game of Thrones spin-offs — House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms — focusing on Daenerys Targaryen's ancestors, the next furthest along show is too. "We have other spin-offs that we're working on right now, one of which — which I won't get into — is very promising, and is still the Targaryen line," Orsi said. "There's a number of other spin-offs. We can't really guarantee what's going to go forward, but we are very big budget on the other ones." HBO isn't just looking to expand Game of Thrones with further television series but also in the full scale movie space, as HBO and Max CEO Casey Bloys said in November it's working to get a film off the ground with George R.R. Martin. A series isn't fully official until its greenlit, however, as HBO has so far developed myriad shows that never saw the light of day. Cancelled series so far include a prequel based on an in-world apocalypse called The Long Night, which HBO scrapped after spending $30 million on a pilot episode, a show called 10,000 Ships which would focus on a sea-faring city, a mysterious Braavos series which Martin plans on continuing in writing form himself, and a sequel starring Kit Harington as Jon Snow. Martin recently appeared to tease a return of Arya Stark actress Maisie Williams too, though nothing has been said officially about such a comeback. Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. View the full article
If you were hoping to scoop up an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 any time soon, it looks as though you're going to be disappointed, as the new budget gaming GPU is reportedly being delayed. Although Nvidia hasn't officially confirmed the existence of the RTX 5060 yet, there was a lot of buzz about it being released in March, but this rumored release window has reportedly been pushed back. The news comes shortly after rumors about an RTX 5070 release window rumor, with the mid-range Nvidia GPU reportedly now being set to come out in March, rather than the February window announced by the company at CES. Previous RTX 5060 release window rumors had pointed to a March release for the new budget gaming GPU as well, but it looks as though it's not expected until April now. Read the rest of the story... Paradis. I'm told it's a city of opportunity; a beating heart, a roguish metropolis. Its streets are lined with merchants peddling their wares (ill-gotten or otherwise). According to my newfound companion Kai, a hulking gentleman with blue-scaled skin and pointed, yellowed teeth, Paradis is the embodiment of freedom. As we push open the city gates, ready to take on the world, I hear an ominous thunk. I look down and see a poisoned arrow comfortably wedged in my chest. Avowed may not be the next groundbreaking evolution of the action RPG genre, but when it’s this entertaining it really doesn’t have to be. With The Elder Scrolls 6 still likely many years away and Fable’s ‘2025’ release window looking worryingly vague, Xbox-owning fantasy action RPG fans are placing their hopes on Obsidian’s Avowed for the time being. It’s not just the fans who’ve been keeping their fingers crossed that Avowed is great. Following the critical acclaim received by Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and with South of Midnight and Doom: The Dark Ages on the way soon, Microsoft will also be hoping that Obsidian’s latest offering is the next link in a chain of high-quality titles, something it’s been missing for a while. Role-playing games come in all shapes and sizes, but something I really rather appreciate is when a game in the genre doesn’t sweat the gritty stuff. I do respect and enjoy when a game really goes for crafting a world experience, I admit - but sometimes, I just want my RPG fix to come in the form of a truly video gamey video game. Avowed is that - still immersive, but gleefully unashamed of doing whatever it can to shine a light on mechanics first to deliver a fun and memorable world to noodle around in. Avowed is almost good, but there's something so resigned and workmanlike to its quest design and storytelling that it often feels like dog-eared chorelist of Obsidian must-haves, ticked off so aimlessly that the result is a bit like having an RPG described to you by someone late for a bus. And that should be that, really. I'd run through all the ways Obsidian's latest didn't quite do it for me, most of you would go play it anyway because it's on Games Pass, and we'd all go back to patiently waiting for the sun to explode. But, god, what a devastatingly gorgeous open-zoned world this is. What a triumphantly weird, sprawling playground of fantasy naturalia. What a treat it is to just climb all over, its design ethos captured in the first magical ring I found offering a 15% buff to parkour speed. Ignore two thirds of the weapons and just roll a wizard to witness the stodgy melee combat of other classes give way to crackling, cackling spell-slinging. There is such a gulf of quality here it's like playing two different games. I spent 27 hours having a meh ol' time until a reinstallation of Nvidia's loathsome app deleted 200 some screenshots and I had to restart. Why not play a wizard? I thought. Why not indeed. Suddenly, I'm frying whole families of lizards at once with chain lightning and grinning like Palpatine in a **** shop. Read more View the full article
