  1. VALORANT is all set to welcome its 27th agent, Waylay, and her prismatic abilities to its ever-growing roster. If you’re wondering how her abilities work, we’ve got you covered with a comprehensive Waylay guide for your VALORANT games. Hailing from Thailand, Waylay, a Radiant duelist, uses light energy to power up her kit. While her unique abilities don’t deal damage, she’s well-equipped to tackle fights and can seamlessly make space for her allies. Unlike what we’d normally expect from a light-wielding VALORANT agent, she surprisingly can’t blind her enemies. She can, however, impose a new debuff, known as “Hindering,” on them. 4. Monster Hunter Wilds has a pretty cool system for the cutscenes, as you can skip and rewatch them whenever you want. The cutscenes represent a vast part of the gameplay as they help you understand the main campaign's lore and story. There are plenty of scenes of cinematic beauty that tell you more about Nata and what happened with his tribe. While you can save time by skipping them in the first place, there's an easy way to rewatch any cutscenes you want as long as you have unlocked them in the first place. How to skip cutscenes in Monster Hunter Wilds Skipping a cutscene is pretty simple, although I was briefly confused when playing on my PS5. Unless you have changed the default controls, you can skip a cutscene by pressing the Y button on a keyboard and the back button on your controller. If you're on PS5 like me, the skip option is utilized by pressing the big Touchpad in the middle (this was the confusing part for me). To skip, you'll have to press the button for at least a few seconds. When it comes to conversations, the options are far more limited. Unlike a cutscene, conversations can only be sped up and not skipped entirely. If you want, you can pause the cutscene by pressing the relevant buttons. To unpause, press the same buttons again, and the cutscene will continue to play normally. Unfortunately, there's no way to speed up a cutscene: you can watch it completely or skip it. Image via Destructoid How to rewatch a cutscene in Monster Hunter Wilds Rewatching a cutscene is as easy as skipping it in the first place. Go to the main screen of Monster Hunter Wilds. You'll find "Gallery" among a host of different options. The Gallery consists of all the cutscenes you accessed on your adventure, available to watch as many times as you want. While you can skip the cutscenes, I have refrained from doing so. The videos are not only brilliant on their own, but they help you understand your Hunter's actions and what place Nata has in the full Monster Hunter Wilds story. 6. In Avowed, there is a hidden choice during Rossana's quest that you will only get if you have a certain stat line. You meet Rossana in Fior Mes Iverno, where you can find her praying off to the right of the bounty board in a secluded area. If you talk to her, she will say that all of the problems in the area started because they abandoned the spirits of the dead. However, you can do a number of things after you talk to her that will change how the quest goes. View the full article
  7. One of the best parts of Avowedis acquiring a new unique weapon and putting it to good use, and that's no less true for its selection of unique guns. Avowed's unique weapons include three unique arquebuses (long-range rifles) and four unique pistols. The limited number of unique pistols and arquebuses makes each one of them extremely valuable and much more powerful than your run-of-the-mill common guns, and therefore are well worth your time tracking down. 11. Even with 14 total weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds, the Insect Glaive stands out as one of the most unique tools you can use in the game. This weapon is a dual-ended twin-blade that uses blindingly fast attack slashes and thrusts to combat large monsters. In addition, it is capable of valuting hunters into the air and controlling special creatures called Kinsects to grant your character multiple powerful buffs. View the full article
  12. Capcom has been on a streak of great Resident Evilremakes for the past few years, and after Resident Evil 4: Remake’s success, Resident Evil 5 should be next in line for a redo. Despite being one of the weaker games in the series due to its focus on combat, the bones of the game are great, and I think it's a prime candidate for a second chance. Resident Evil 5: Remake could be a revamped co-op experience with a focus on survival horror rather than action. View the full article
  13. Monster Hunter Wilds is finally here, featuring a diverse range of monster types compared to recent entries and plenty of new challenges to face in the forbidden lands, and one uniquely dangerous threat is the infliction of bleeding. Even though the initial trailer made it seem like there wasn't much room left for new surprises, Wilds had plenty more fantastical environments and even more dangerous foes. While it can be easy to get distracted by exciting returns and incredibly unique newcomers to the series, knowing how to handle status effects makes a huge difference during hunts. 14. Marvel's Spider-Man 2's ending was near-perfect, an epic conclusion to a three-game saga that wrapped up its plots succinctly, gave Miles the space to breathe, and left enough tantalizing teases to get fans hyped for future releases. I was enamored with Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and that ending really helped solidify it as one of my all-time favorite games. It also helped that Peter's journey across the two games he's actually a part of is fantastic, something that both captivated my burgeoning interest in the Spider-Man comic book universe and encouraged me to look deeper into it. 16. Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 includes a number of twists, but there are some aspects that remain the same. From the beginning, you have to figure out if any toys are your allies in Playtime Co.'s abandoned factory and which toys those might be. 18. As you progress through Monster Hunter Wilds' campaign, you'll eventually find yourself in the Oilwell Basin, a sweltering region where magma bubbles under the surface and powers an enormous iron forge. The Oilwell Basin is home to a variety of creatures that thrive in the heat. Some of them simply enjoy its warmer, drier clime, while others actively feed on the eternal subterranean fire to make themselves more powerful. One of those is Ajarakan, a Fanged Beast-type monster. It's a strong and surprisingly fast creature on its own, but Ajarakan is even stronger in numbers. View the full article
  19. If you have already begun Dareel's Special Research Report in Monster Hunter Wilds, the final part will require you to find a Gillopod. This specific monster belongs to the Endemic Creatures, which are the smaller animals roaming around the different habitats. Being smaller in size, it's pretty easy to miss them in the first place. Let's take a look at how to solve this quest and find Gillopod on your adventures. How to begin Dareel's Special Research Report in Monster Hunter Wilds You'll find Dareel in the Windward Plains base camp, and he will provide you with the Special Research Report quest. You must solve the two other sets of research quests before this one: Research Report and Research Report (Cont.). Once the quest begins, you'll have to set out looking for a Gillopod. It might sound like an easy task, but reality is often disappointing. Not only is this specific creature extremely small in size, but it also resembles another one, making it harder for you to find. Screenshot by Destructoid How to find a Gillopod in Monster Hunter Wilds Gillopods can be found in the Wyveria region. To be more specific, head past Area 7 and you'll come across a slope. You'll find the Gillipod and Pillopod at the location. They can be found widely throughout the path from Area 7 to Area 10, but they're located in the lower layers. The challenging task is to differentiate between the two of them. Usually, the creatures can be found on the walls, and you can use your net to capture them. Typically, Pillopods have a stronger shade of blue on their bodies, and have ****** eyes. Not only are Gillopod's lighter in color, but they also have orange eyes. If you're unsure about their size and shape, just try to look for a lighter shade of color on their bodies. Alternatively, just grab all of them to save time and energy. Once you have collected the Gillopod, return to Dareel in the camp. He will offer you Gloamgrass Buds and Honey for your work, and you'll be able to pick Samin's final quest after completing Dareel's questline in Monster Hunter Wilds. 20. The Sims 4 recently added back in a classic feature that fans have been asking for, and its proximity to the release of the Sims Legacy Collections seems more than a coincidence. Best of all, players may not have to shell out money for expansion packs to get these new features. View the full article

  22. While doing some research on Baldur's Gate 3's sick assassin armor that you no longer have to kill a baby elephant to wear, I made the shocking discovery of some readily available, not secret at all information: Doug Cockle of The Witcher fame had an important, but somewhat-hidden performance in Baldur's Gate 3. I figured if it was news to me after 400 hours, it'd be news to at least some people, but spoilers ahead for Baldur's Gate 3's third act and Dark Urge origin... Read more.View the full article

  24. In the most recent update to the content development roadmap for Sid Meier's Civilization 7, some major features were announced for patch updates over the coming weeks. These features include a much-needed revamp of the Cultural Victory and Legacy Path in the Modern Age, the addition of research queuing for technologies and civics, and most importantly, the return of the One More Turn function that allows you to continue playing after you've achieved a victory in the Modern Age. While these are welcome and needed changes, I'm becoming more and more frustrated about how much was missing at launch. View the full article
