There are a lot of studios taking a crack at developing 'the next Disco Elysium', but the one that's intrigued me the most so far is Rue Valley. Emotion Spark's narrative RPG is set during a 47-minute window in an out-of-the-way motel, featuring an enigmatic protagonist trying to forget about some unexplained trauma. At the end of the 47-minute run, time resets... Read more.View the full article

There is a choice inAvowedto give Temerti a letter from the Steel Garrotte, or if you should withhold it. This choice feels a little weird, as it is unclear what the consequences actually are, especially at first glance. The good news is that this choice will not get you kicked out of Thirdborn no matter what, so you can make the choice you feel is best. Still, if you want more context, what happens in each circumstance is listed below. View the full article

Sometimes you're playing a game, and you just think to yourself - this could probably do with a few weird flesh blobs to spice things up a bit. A Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 modder has clearly had that epiphany, and they've acted on it to bring us all a world of medival lady and animal spheres that's totally free from the patriarchy. If you've been begging NetEase Games to institute a version of role lock in Marvel Rivals, the fingers on the monkey's paw have started to curl. Instead of a new take on Overwatch's longstanding ****** and balance solution, we're getting a brand new game mode, and it's going to be limited to just two selectable heroes per team. So if you want to play matches where you mirror the other team on purpose, this is your chance. Read the rest of the story... Brendan: Hello, Nic. Nic: Brendy! Why are you here, in my review? What is this, some kind of Split Fiction? Some kind of co-op adventure by Hazelight? Fine, since you're here: what's the best bit of Split Fiction, Brendy? Brendan: We were escaping sci-fi gunships on the back of a stolen motorcycle. You must have felt cool steering us between missiles and gunfire. I could see none of that. I was too focused on clicking the "accept" box on a Terms and Conditions screen. Our ill-gotten bike's futuristic security had kicked in, you see, and it was my job to disable its self-destruct protocol by phone. You were driving fast and jumping between skyscrapers while I was wrestling with captcha after captcha to stop us from exploding. I laughed the whole time. Read more View the full article

Sid Meier's Civilization 7 has a new Sid Meier's game update that makes changes to Sid Meier's user interface, leader AI, Age mechanics, Mementos and naval unit handling. Developers Firaxis have also stirred in a free bonus Natural Wonder, Sid Meier's Bermuda Triangle. Leaving aside for the moment the on-going arguments about whether (Sid Meier's - OK, enough of that now) Civilization 7 is an unambiguous low point for the series, or yet another flawed 4X strategy sim that will find its feet via post-launch updates, I love the idea of a Bermuda Triangle just popping up in my simulation, like a ****** hole spawning in my fridge. I hope it works as in legends about the real-life Bermuda Triangle (or in the previous Civilization 6), with whole armies and fleets getting swallowed up in transit and/or scattered across the globe at random. World of Warcraft: The War Within’s latest update is here, and it’s been gathering players’ attention with new content. But amidst joining Cartels and finishing fresh quests, players spotted an Easter egg that perfectly captures the British Summer. On March 1 on Reddit, shortly after the Undermine(d) patch went live, one player shared a picture of an NPC sitting in a some sort of barrel, which is reminiscent of a garbage bin. They also compared it to a popular photo of one Brit sitting in a garbage bin that made its rounds in summer 2022, which is likely the inspiration behind this Easter egg. View the full article

What are the WWE 2K25 system requirements? While 2K is set to innovate when it comes to gameplay for its WWE license this year, introducing The Island as a new shared-world game mode, the game's PC demands have stagnated, meaning there might be little in the way of technological advancements coming. You won't need the best graphics card to play WWE 2K25 on PC, and if you were able to play last year's game with decent performance, you're already set for this year. Very few changes have been made, but you are going to need some more RAM if your gaming PC is still stuck at 8GB. This should bode well for the Steam Deck too, which was able to run WWE 2K24 without much compromise. Read the rest of the story... View the full article

I spent most of my childhood playing couch co-op. I learnt comradery and faced hardship in Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and Gears of War. I hit strikes in Wii Sports, fought off Juggernauts in MW2 Spec Ops, rode a polar bear in ****** Bash, and ran from the virus in TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Hours were spent in front of the TV connecting my sister’s and my love for video games. While our preferences for genres are different, we could always go back to the co-op games of our childhood and find solace in them, and Split Fiction has achieved the same. There are many awe-inspiring moments. Screenshot by Dot Esports Split Fiction takes many popular, pre-existing ideas and brings them together in a highly unique way. Yes, its story isn’t anything special, but its delivery and excellent blending of sci-fi and fantasy make Split Fiction one-of-a-kind. Games like these always make me wonder “how hasn’t this been done before?” Hazelight Studios has done it again, bringing couch co-op back into the spotlight, in a place where it deserves to shine. It’s fair to say that not even the headstrong Josef Fares could have predicted that his studio’s game It Takes Two would become such an astronomical success. Due in part to a large boost in popularity in China after winning a prestigious Game of the Year award there, It Takes Two sold around 23 million copies, a figure that some of the industry’s most notable household names would kill to achieve. With such a remarkable accomplishment under his belt, Fares now faces the daunting task of either replicating or somehow surpassing It Takes Two’s sales with his next game, Split Fiction. While such a milestone may prove to be too far to reach, it won’t be due to a lack of effort from Fares and his team at Hazelight who have once again delivered a top quality co-op adventure.
