  7. One of the strongest weapons in Monster Hunter World is the Great Sword, a tool you can use to deal the highest damage possible to the monsters you hunt. However, while this weapon is straightforward to use, the hefty strikes from its attacks are extremely slow. With a nuanced balance between crushing offense and careful defense, this weapon will take some time to master. 9. Killing Floor returns later this month with Killing Floor 3, which works to continue polishing the experience of fighting waves of monsters with friends. Story takes a ********* in this series, as your main focus is on surviving each wave of enemies until you finally face the Patriarch. While the concept stays the same in Killing Floor 3, the closed beta that I participated in showed some differences in this game from previous releases, and they might not be for the best. 10. Honkai: Star Railcontinues to add power creep to the hit gacha game, and it is on track to give it an early death. HSR is arguably the top of HoYoverse now that Genshin Impact has somewhat slowed down. While the open-world action RPG is still popular, its recent 5.0 update was less well-received than previous. Zenless Zone Zero may also be on the rise, but it is still too early to give any definite claims. View the full article

  13. Activision has announced a release date for Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6 and Warzone's upcoming Season 3, but it's a little later than players were expecting. Season 03 is a big moment for Call of Duty: Warzone and ****** Ops 6, and we’re taking the time to deliver a great experience starting on April 3. More to come following Call of Duty: Warzone’s 5th anniversary next week… [Hidden Content] — Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) March 3, 2025 As shown in the post above, Season 3 will drop on April 3, with more details expected to be shared about the season next week. This is a bit later than players expected to see the season begin, however, as the countdown on the current Battle Pass was suggesting a reset on March 20. Players have high hopes for season 3. Activision has been teasing the return of the beloved Verdansk map for some time now, and has set expectations for its arrival sometime this spring. Just yesterday, a pop-up in the Call of Duty shop suggested "The Verdansk Collection" would arrive on March 10, likely heralding the map's triumphant return. We'll have to hang tight for more details on the season next week, as it seems likely an overview of what to expect from the season will appear at roughly the same time as "The Verdansk Collection" on the 10th. For now, we can content ourselves with season 2, which added five multiplayer maps, the return of Gun Game mode, new weapons and operators. and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover event. 15. Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida is no longer on Square Enix’s board of directors in the company’s latest corporate shake-up. Known affectionately as “Yoshi-P,” Yoshida has had a hand in many recent Final Fantasy projects, most notably the revamped version of Final Fantasy 14that launched in 2013. He also served as director and producer for many of the MMO’s later expansions and produced 2023’s Final Fantasy 16. View the full article

  17. Every now and then we publish a round-up of game or demo recommendations, and all you regular readers dutifully fill the comments with recommendations of your own. FOOLS. Our round-ups are, of course, a devious trap for your curiosity and connoisseurship, designed to save us the labour of discovering good games for ourselves. You know in Batman Forever when Jim Carrey uses Riddler TV to steal everybody's IQs? Well picture me doing that, except that I am not wearing tight green pyjamas (unless you want to picture me that way - no offence taken) and I am actually filling my skull with everything you ever knew about, in Moadra's case, manky Super Metroid clones. 18. It's no state secret that Civilization 7 didn't get off to the strongest start. Robert Zak gave it a 76% in PC Gamer's review, which is quite low for a Firaxis game, and echoed a lot of my own criticisms. It's sitting at exactly 50 percent positive reviews on Steam as of this writing. The interface is kind of a disaster. It feels stripped-down in some ways. New Civs are usually controversial, but rarely to this extreme. So where do we go from here?.. Read more.View the full article
