  2. Bosses are firing Gen Z grads just months after hiring them—here’s what they say needs to change Bosses are firing Gen Z grads just months after hiring them—here’s what they say needs to change After complaining for the better part of two years that Gen Z grads are difficult to work with, bosses are no longer all talk, no action: Now they’re rapidly firing young workers who aren’t up to scratch just months after hiring them. According to a report, six in 10 employers say they have already sacked some of the Gen Z workers they hired fresh out of college in recent months. Intelligent.com, a platform dedicated to helping young professionals navigate the future of work, surveyed nearly 1,000 U.S. leaders. It found that the class of 2024’s shortcomings will impact future grads. After experiencing a raft of problems with young new hires, one in six bosses say they’re hesitant to hire recent college grads again. Meanwhile, one in seven bosses have admitted that they may avoid hiring them altogether next year. Three-quarters of the companies surveyed said some or all of their recent graduate hires were unsatisfactory in some way. So where is it going wrong for fresh-faced graduates? Employers’ gripe with young people today is their lack of motivation or initiative—50% of the leaders surveyed cited that as the reason why things didn’t work out with their new hire. Bosses also pointed to Gen Z being unprofessional, unorganized, and having poor communication skills as their top reasons for having to sack grads. Leaders say they have struggled with the latest generation’s tangible challenges, including being late to work and meetings often, not wearing office-appropriate clothing, and using language appropriate for the workspace. Now more than half of hiring managers have come to the conclusion that college grads are unprepared for the world of work. Meanwhile, over 20% say they can’t handle the workload. In reality, colleges know that their students are wholly unprepared for the workforce, and some have started stepping up to fill the gap. For example, Michigan State University is teaching students how to handle a networking conversation, including how to look for signs that the other party is starting to get bored and that it’s time to move on. Meanwhile, a high school in London is trialing a 12-hour school day to prepare pupils for adult life. When asked what would make college grads more hirable, bosses responded: a positive attitude and more initiative. Intelligent’s chief education and career development advisor, Huy Nguyen, advises Gen Z grads to observe how other workers interact to understand the company culture at any new firm they may join. From there, it’s easier to gauge what’s an appropriate way of engaging with others. Story Continues “Take the initiative to ask thoughtful questions, seek feedback, and apply it to show your motivation for personal growth,” Nguyen adds. “Build a reputation for dependability by maintaining a positive attitude, meeting deadlines, and volunteering for projects, even those outside your immediate responsibilities.” Amazon CEO Andy Jassy recently echoed that an “embarrassing” amount of your success in your twenties depends on your attitude—and the reason why is simple: Managers would rather work with positive people. Some leaders have even insisted that a can-do attitude at work will advance young workers’ careers more than a college degree. Richard Branson, the billionaire founder of Virgin, has repeatedly urged young people to ditch university in favor of the “school of life.” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently claimed that raw talent and personality trump credentials. To that end, Cisco’s top executive in the U.K., David Meads, dropped out of school at 16 years old. He told Fortune that “attitude and aptitude are more important than whatever letters you have after your name, or whatever qualifications you’ve got on a sheet.” Have you had to let go of a Gen Z employee? Or perhaps you are the Gen Zer who’s just been fired. Fortune wants to hear from you. Email: *****@*****.tld A version of this story originally published on Fortune.com on September 26, 2024. 4. Samsung Galaxy S25 to Reportedly Be Available in a 128GB Variant in India, Price Leaked Samsung Galaxy S25 to Reportedly Be Available in a 128GB Variant in India, Price Leaked Samsung Galaxy S25 series was launched globally and in India at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event on January 22. At the time, the South Korean technology conglomerate only announced the availability and prices of the 256GB and 512GB configurations of the base Galaxy S25. However, a recent report suggests that the phone will also be available in a 128GB storage variant and at a lower price, making it more affordable to consumers. Samsung Galaxy S25 128GB Variant Citing retail sources, 91Mobiles Hindi reports that the Samsung Galaxy S25 128GB model will be priced in India at Rs. 74,999. Notably, the Galaxy S24, in a similar configuration, was introduced at the same price point last year. Although the phone’s pre-bookings are yet to commence, the report speculates that this particular configuration could be made available for purchase at a later date. Further, there are questions over its availability too. The handset’s 128GB model is not listed on the official Samsung India website. Thus, there is reportedly a possibility that it may only be sold through retail stores and other offline channels. Meanwhile, the phone is available in the same configuration in the US and other markets at $799 (roughly Rs. 69,100). The Galaxy S25 was initially launched in 256GB and 512GB storage variants in India, priced at Rs. 80,999 and Rs. 92,999, respectively. It is available in Icy Blue, Mint, Navy, and Silver Shadow colour options, while Blueblack, Coralred, and Pinkgold colourways are exclusive to the Samsung online store. Samsung Galaxy S25 Specifications The Samsung Galaxy S25 is equipped with a 6.2-inch Full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600nits peak brightness. It is a dual SIM smartphone that runs on Android 15-based One UI 7. It is powered by an octa core Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of storage. For optics, the Galaxy S25 has a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera with 2x in-sensor zoom and optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens with a 120-degree field of view, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It gets a 12-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The Galaxy S25 packs a 4,000mAh battery that can be charged at 25W (wired, charger sold separately). 6. Plane Passenger Sits in Wrong Seat, Then Too-Polite Passengers Cause Domino Effect of Boarding Chaos Plane Passenger Sits in Wrong Seat, Then Too-Polite Passengers Cause Domino Effect of Boarding Chaos A plane passenger intentionally sat in the wrong spot on a fully booked plane, a fellow flyer claims on Reddit This single traveler allegedly caused a domino effect, with more and more travelers in the wrong seats until boarding was nearly complete Fellow Reddit users condemned the woman’s behavior and lamented aired other annoying flight experiences in the comments PEOPLE spoke to a travel expert about the correct way to handle seat swapping on a plane One passenger’s disregard for their seat assignment set off a domino effect of swapping chaos on a recent flight. According to a fellow flyer, the woman ignored what her ticket said and — in a highly unusual move — opted to sit seven rows further back from her assigned seat. The seat itself may have been a draw, however. She was supposed to be in 30B, a middle seat, but decided to sit in the window seat 37F, the witness recounted in a post on Reddit’s r/delta forum. The person who actually belonged in 37F chose not to confront the woman in their seat, instead giving up their assigned seat to search for another open one. This happened many times, the author of the post wrote, until a number of people were in the wrong seats on the fully booked flight. Related: Flight Attendants Reveal the Best Time to Ask for a Flight Upgrade “So the literal last guy on the plane has a window seat and only one middle is left,” the post’s author wrote. It got to a point at which the flight attendants had to get involved, they noted. Once the crew clocked the conundrum, they traced the flyers’ boarding passes from wrong seat to wrong seat until they found the instigator. When the original seat swapper was discovered, she pretended to not know she was in the wrong seat, according to the poster. The story sparked outrage from flyers with similar experiences in the comments. “These people know what they’re doing,” one comment read, and urged others to call out inconsiderate passengers. “I saw this happen where a wife and husband switched seats with a guy to sit together (both middle seats, so shouldn’t have been an issue,” but they were all in the wrong seats to begin with,” another user wrote in the comments. “Caused a huge delay on an already delayed flight.” Related: A Career Flight Attendant on the Wildest Bad Behavior She’s Seen In-Flight: Urination, Strip Teases & More Some commended the flight attendants for putting in the effort to sort out the wrong seats, because other flight attendants, in their experience, let the behavior slide. On a less busy flight, one person recounted a similar incident in which another passenger’s bad manners worked out to their benefit. The user recalled when they got to their seat they found another person in their spot with their legs stretched out across the rest of the row. “The [flight attendant] asked where I was sitting, I pointed. There was a brief moment of silence, and then she walked me up to an empty [Comfort+] window seat,” the user recalled. “It was the weirdest experience ever, she didn’t even engage with the lady.” PEOPLE previously spoke to travel expert, writer and advisor Nicole Campoy Jackson of Fora Travel to weigh in on the subject of seat swapping. Jackson says reaching out to the flight attendant for guidance is always the right move. “I am always in the camp of getting a flight attendant involved for sticky in-flight situations,” she explains. “Tensions run high when we’re traveling plus they would know, for example, if there was another seat or another solution to this problem. They have more context than we, the passengers, do.” “Switching seats does always boil down to flexibility, understanding, and kindness of our fellow passengers,” Jackson continues. “That starts with the ask, by the way. It also, of course, boils down to what’s possible within the rules of the airline, the safety of where everyone needs to be at a given time, and what’s been paid for.” Read the original article on People Source link #Plane #Passenger #Sits #Wrong #Seat #TooPolite #Passengers #Domino #Effect #Boarding #Chaos Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]

The automaker will produce the low-cost model locally, the Nikkei said, adding it will roll it out as part of its upcoming “Honda 0 Series” global EV lineup. A Honda spokesperson said that while the automaker aims to release an EV priced below $30,000 as an entry-level model as part of the series, the company has not made any decision yet on whether to release that model in North America. Japan’s second-biggest automaker has been slow to step up sales of battery-powered vehicles, lagging behind U.S., European and ******** rivals, including Tesla, Volkswagen and BYD. 13. Starbucks sees signs of recovery as results beat forecasts Starbucks sees signs of recovery as results beat forecasts STORY: Starbucks just might be on the mend. Results out Tuesday showed a smaller-than-expected fall in sales over the first quarter. Earnings per share also beat estimates. Analysts say it’s a sign that the coffee chain is benefiting from turnaround efforts under new CEO Brian Niccol. He took over in August last year, and Starbucks shares are up nearly 30% since. They rose another 0.5% in U.S. after-hours trade on Tuesday. In his previous job, Niccol was credited with turning around burrito chain Chipotle ******** Grill. Now he has rolled out a series of revival measures at Starbucks. That includes a simpler menu, ceramic cups and refills. And he’s taken steps to reduce the wait time at cafes to under four minutes. Niccol has also cut back on the company’s deals and discounts, and sought to broaden its marketing beyond loyalty program members. Starbucks still faces big challenges, including a loss of market share to rivals like China’s Luckin Coffee. Tensions are also high with the union attempting to organise the firm’s baristas. Contract negotiations have now dragged on for almost a year, and December saw strikes at 300 outlets. The Workers United union says Starbucks has reneged on a “path forward” that it agreed last year. 19. Despite closing due to the snow, Myrtle Beach’s golf courses saw one surprising benefit Despite closing due to the snow, Myrtle Beach’s golf courses saw one surprising benefit Mother Nature wasn’t kind in January 2025 for those working in the Myrtle Beach golf industry. Steve Mays is the president of Founders Group International, which owns 21 golf courses along the Grand Strand, including TPC Myrtle Beach, Pine Lakes Golf Club, and Myrtle Beach National. Compared to January 2024, the first month of 2025 was less than ideal. “January hasn’t been a great month, weather-wise,” Mays said. “The year’s not off to a great start.” One of the Grand Strand’s slowest months for golfing, courses rely more on locals booking tee times than in the tourist-heavy summer months. However, a cold January led many to forgo playing a round, and then five inches of snow forced many courses to close until it melted and cancel or reschedule the few tee times they had. While some think snow would be disastrous for golf courses in a region where a winter wonderland is rare, operators say it isn’t. Prestwick Country Club’s head golf professional, Jay Smith, said that most area golf courses have drainage systems that handle snow and water, preventing serious problems. “Everybody’s got a couple of holes that don’t drain great, but that’s okay,” Smith said. “Golfers are wanting to get out and enjoy the nice weather coming, so they’ll be okay with cart path only for a few days.” Mays noted that the snow provided some benefits to Grand Strand courses. Mays said Myrtle Beach’s fall and winter were dry with minimal rainfall. Parts of Horry County experienced a moderate drought in 2024. However, after much of the snow melted, Mays said the snow and water provided the courses with much-needed moisture. “The snow was actually helpful. We weren’t really saturated with water in the ground,” Mays said. “So, we really don’t have a lot of issues here.” Myrtle Beach’s Prestwick Country Club after snow fell during a January 2025 winter storm. The snowfall closed many Myrtle Beach area golf courses, but golf operators said the snowfall helped the courses due to a dry winter. Bart Romano is the PGA Director Of Golf Operations at True Blue Golf Club and Caledonia Golf and Fish Club and has worked in the Myrtle Beach golf business for a quarter century. While a wet course isn’t ideal, he said the snow will help alleviate some of the dryness concerns. “There’s definitely some benefit to it,” Romano said. “it’s four to five inches of snow, is probably somewhere around a half inch of rain, and it does give a layer of insulation.” The snow didn’t bring all positive effects. The winter storm slowed work on some off-season projects, including closing courses. Mays said it delayed renovating the irrigation system at Myrtle Beach National’s West Course. Smith added that some residents enjoyed the snow by sledding. However, this wasn’t a concern as long as they avoided the tee boxes and greens. Smith said Prestwick’s greens were covered before the snow fell to protect them from any potential damage caused by the winter storm. “It might damage a little bit, but it’s minimal damage,” Smith said. “It’s a lot of fun for folks in the neighborhood … as long as they use good judgment and aren’t out there intentionally trying to hurt the golf courses or using bad judgment, we’re okay with it.” Cold weather is bad for sensitive, highly cut greens and could cause damage to the surface if it is not covered. Mays said Founder Group covered its courses’ green before the snow fell Mon., Jan. 20, 2025, and removed them on Sat. Jan. 25, 2025. However, Mays said the snow itself helped shield the greens from extensive damage from the cold. “(Snow) provides some protection to the greens from getting burned,” he added. Still, those like Romano would prefer the weather take a turn to increase the number of rounds played during the offseason. He said Caledonia and True Blue were still closed Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, due to snow not melting in some regions of the course. “Every day has been a wait-and-see,” Romano said. “Pray for sun, man. 65 (degrees) can’t get here fast enough.” Source link #closing #due #snow #Myrtle #Beachs #golf #courses #surprising #benefit Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]

We have updated key details such as pricing and specifications with the most up to date information available. Read the original version of this review here. You can also read the most recent price and specs article here. WATCH: Paul’s video review of the 2023 Ford Everest Platinum After a slow-ish start due to short supply of high-demand variants, Ford’s 4WD SUV twin to the top-selling Ranger ute is now top of its class for sales, and regularly breaking sales records for the nameplate. It’s almost now experiencing the sort of popularity the Territory once enjoyed. With good reason too, it’s a benchmark amongst its peers for performance, refinement and capability. Plus, it blurs the lines between ladder-frame and monocoque SUVs in terms of driving manners. Here we have the Ford Everest Platinum V6 4WD, the flagship of the range with all the bells and whistles. At launch it was considered expensive, but now that cheaper rivals are getting closer in price, and the new 250 Series Toyota LandCruiser Prado tops out at $100,000, the top-spec Ford may not be such a bad idea after all. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert Technically the car we have on test is an MY23 example, but bar some minor price and feature adjustments it’s largely representative of a new vehicle if you order one now – sadly, the older build was all we had access to. While expensive, the flagship Everest is fitted with everything the nameplate has to offer; and packs enough performance, luxuries, tech and capability to rival a top-spec Prado or even a VW Touareg. Is this top-spec Everest still a top pick for those wanting a luxurious family adventure vehicle with all the fruit? Or is the asking price too steep? Read on to find out. How much does the Ford Everest cost? Ford Australia recently announced some running changes to the Everest lineup for ‘2025.25MY’, which saw the price of the flagship Platinum rise by $85 as well as the reintroduction of the adventure-themed Wildtrak for a limited time. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert Part of the adjustments include a standard acoustic windscreen across the range, while all variants bar the base Ambiente add a 400W inverter with interior power socket. Further, the Sport loses its 10-speaker premium audio system and the Platinum now misses out on the active park assist feature fitted to previous build years – read more here. To see how the Everest compares with its rivals, check out our comparison tool What is the Ford Everest like on the inside? It’s certainly a little dressier in here than lower-grade variants. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert While the overall design and layout are the same Ford Everest (and Ranger) we’ve come to know and (largely) love, the Platinum gets some nicer detailing which really helps to elevate the ambience above the Trend and Sport. The smooth, quilted leather-accented chairs are an obvious differentiator, and definitely look and feel very nice. They’re also heated and ventilated with power adjustment. Very nice. It’s a shame the upholstery can’t be ordered in another colour, with ****** the option locally. The brown wood-look inlays are subtle and a classy touch in this reviewer’s eyes. Additional padded and stitched surfaces line the dashboard and the door tops, and the Platinum is the only Everest variant to feature the high-end 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster – which is much better than the base unit. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert The contrast stitch details even extend to the sides of the centre console as well as the front centre armrest, and there’s a lovely cross-stitch effect for the steering wheel rim, too. Classy. As noted earlier the larger digital instrument panel kills the piddly unit in lower grades, with lovely graphics, clarity and animations. It’s not quite as configurable as we’d like though, playing second or third fiddle to the units employed by the Volkswagen Group in terms of configurability and features. The portrait-oriented 12-inch central touchscreen running Ford’s SYNC 4 interface remains a highlight especially compared to the units offered by rival off-roaders. It’s slick, fully featured and pretty easy to use. In addition to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, there’s DAB radio and embedded satellite navigation with live traffic updates. The on-board modem also facilitates FordPass Connect, which in addition to the net-based traffic data adds remote functionality via the FordPass app – it remains a benchmark here. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert While some will lament the move to digitised climate controls via the touchscreen, Ford has cleverly retained physical knobs and buttons for these functions so owners are offered the choice. Build quality in our pretty old (by press car standards) test vehicle seemed to hold up pretty well, with no loose fitting bits of trim or any noticeable squeaks or rattles. Some of the joins around the sides and bridge elements near the touchscreen aren’t quite as consistent as we’d like for a vehicle costing the Platinum’s coin, however, and the harder, scratchier materials dotted throughout areas of the cabin are definitely leaning into the Everest’s utilitarian utes – an Audi Q7 it is not, nor does it really have to be. Storage options include a deep shelf under the touchscreen with wireless phone charging pad, an assortment of cubbies including a double glovebox and underarm bin, as well as relatively deep door bins. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert The elevated theatre-style rear seating means little ones will have a good view out in the second row – no more emergency stops for car sickness. Leg-, head- and knee room are all plentiful even if you’re over six-foot like myself, and you can squeeze three across for shorter journeys. I will note the decent driveline hump in the floor eats into foot room, however. While there isn’t a third zone of climate control, there is a manual fan control to toggle the air speed through the roof-mounted air vents in the second and third rows, which is handy. Behind the centre console is also a module with USB-A and USB-C charge ports to keep phones and iPads juiced. Other rear seat amenities include map pockets behind the front seatbacks, a fold-down centre armrest with cupholders, bottle holders in the doors, as well as the requisite ISOFIX window seat anchors and top-tether points across all three second-row seats. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert Access to the third row is via folding and sliding the second row forward, but it’s not quite as easy to get in as it is in something like a Kia Sorento or the now defunct Mazda CX-9. Once you’re back there it’s more than kid friendly, and you can probably pinch some adults in there for a shorter journey. Air vents feature back there, along with 12V ports, and the curtain airbags cover all three rows of seating. Big windows are also a plus. Behind the third row, there’s 259L of cargo space, expanding to 898L with it folded and 1818L with the second row folded. With all three rows up, you can fit either some small bags or perhaps one suitcase, pending size. For 2025.25MY, all Everest variants bar the base Ambiente pick up a 400W inverter with interior socket as standard. Our pictured 2023MY test vehicle doesn’t have this feature, naturally. The Everest Platinum is exclusively available with Ford’s V6 turbo-diesel and four-wheel drive with 4A mode. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert It’s worth noting the entire Everest engine lineup features AdBlue injection in line with Euro 6 emissions standards, which helps to reduce harmful particulates emitted by diesel vehicles such as nitrogen oxides (NOx). Most rivals only fit a diesel particulate filter (DPF) in line with Euro 5 regulations, the minimum requirement in Australia currently. To see how the Everest compares with its rivals, check out our comparison tool How does the Ford Everest drive? Ute-based SUVs have historically been amongst my least favourite cars to drive due to their workhorse-like nature, but this latest Everest has really flipped that perception on its head. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert The Ranger is already an excellently well-rounded utility, but the Everest’s rear coil suspension and family leaning vibe takes that a step further. In Platinum trim, it drives like a properly luxurious vehicle. Performance from the V6 diesel is a little lazy but also effortless, with all 600Nm available from just 1750rpm, and the 10-speed automatic has what seems like infinite ratios to choose from so that progress is smooth. You barely notice it row through the cogs, and if you’re not in a hurry it quickly settles in eighth or ninth with revs barely sitting above idle at a cruise. If you plant your foot it’ll take one, two moments to kick down and get going, but it hustles along alright for a tall, boxy truck weighing 2.5 tonnes. During our 4WD SUV Mega Test, the Everest Platinum V6 managed a 9.39-second 0-100km/h time, which is over a second quicker than the four-cylinder ***-turbo version. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert That doesn’t necessarily tell all the story either, because while big diesel SUVs and utes have sluggish 0-100 times by passenger car standards, it’s the rolling acceleration that really impresses – especially relative to four-cylinder rivals. Having 600Nm on tap means the Everest will perform highway overtakes pretty easily, and according to our testing it’ll do 80-120km/h on the trot 1.3s quicker than an Everest ***-turbo and 2.0s quicker than an Isuzu MU-X 3.0. And, while it’s doing it the six-cylinder oiler has a much more attractive and muscular engine note than rattly four-cylinder equivalents. If you’re planning to tow often, this powertrain would form as the more attractive option. What I love most about the Everest V6’s character is cruising on the highway, where at 100-110 clicks it’s quiet, settled and secure. For family road trips, there are few 4WDs with this level of refinement. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert It’s pretty darn quiet, with minimal road and wind noise permeating the cabin save for a hint of tyre noise on rougher blacktop and some faint wind whistle over the chunky side mirrors at high speeds on windy days. The tall body and rugged underpinnings mean you shouldn’t be expecting sporty dynamics, but the light and accurate steering makes this easy to place in tight city manoeuvres as well as winding country roads, and the body is well controlled against lateral forces. Outward visibility is pretty good thanks to the tall glasshouse and big mirrors, and the surround camera system offers a good view of the vehicle’s surrounds to help keep the Everest between tight carpark markings. That said, at 4.9m long and 1.9m wide with bluff, upright edges; this is still a big ol’ bus. Ride quality is pretty good even on the Platinum’s 21-inch alloys. You can also option smaller 18-inch rims in all-terrain rubber if you need the more rugged shoes for off-road expeditions. Personally, I think 19s or 20s would have been more than enough. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert At times the ute underpinnings come through on sharper hits, with a bit of a terse edge to the initial impact. It’s far from uncomfortable though, and the Everest is a good head and half a shoulder ahead of most rivals in this regard. The Everest’s suite of assistance systems are very well calibrated and are another area where it beats out its competitors, with intuitive adaptive cruise and lane centring systems to facilitate semi-autonomous driving. In Platinum trim the Everest is fully loaded, meaning blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert for helping navigate gaps in traffic or reversing out of blind parking spots, and there’s a surround parking camera as noted earlier. The Platinum also scores the available Matrix LED *********** with auto levelling as standard, with an adaptive highbeam function that not only does a good job of illuminating the road ahead in poorly lit areas, but also intelligently blanks out light segments to avoid dazzling oncoming road users. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert As for off-road performance, this exact Everest took part in our 4WD Mega Test in 2023, and performed quite well even with its road-focused wheel and tyre package. Founder Paul Maric said: “[It] walked through the offset moguls in 4A mode, smartly shuffling torque to the grounded wheels to drag the car out. It was the same situation in 4H with the rear differential unlocked, and the car set to Mud/Ruts mode”. “The Everest did touch down slightly, indicating it had less ground clearance than some of its rivals. Despite a bit of wheelspin brought about by its road-oriented tyres, the Everest V6 did an impressive job shuffling torque around to climb Mogul Mountain with a constant throttle. “Ford’s hill-descent control is the best in the business, allowing the driver to adjust speed using the cruise control buttons. The lack of ugly noises from the brakes is also impressive. “Gravel Mountain challenged the Everest; it failed to scale it on the third attempt despite a healthy serving of the throttle – potentially due to its highway-terrain tyres.” Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert To see how the Everest compares with its rivals, check out our comparison tool What do you get?Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert 2025 Ford Everest Ambiente highlights: 17-inch alloy wheelsAll-season tyres17-inch steel spare wheelLED reflector headlightsC-shaped LED daytime running lightsFront fog lightsLED tail lightsBlack side stepsAuto power-folding side mirrorsRain-sensing wipersTwo front tow hooksSteel underbody protection (4×4 model only)10.1-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen infotainment system8.0-inch digital instrument clusterWireless Apple CarPlay and Android AutoEmbedded modemWireless phone charger8-speaker sound systemSatellite navigationDAB+ digital radioEmbedded voice assistantFordPass with remote startDual-zone climate control5 seats (7 seats optional)Fabric upholstery8-way manual driver seat adjustment4-way manual front passenger seat adjustmentDriver floor matElectrochromatic rear-view mirrorDash-mounted pull-out cupholdersOpen storage shelfTilt and reach steering wheel adjustmentKeyless entry with push-button startVinyl console lidElectronic parking brakeConventional mechanical gear shifter (4×2 only)e-Shifter gear shifter (4×4 only)Locking rear differential (4×4 only)Push-button selectable drive modesAcoustic windscreen (NEW, 2025.25MY) Everest Trend adds: 18-inch alloy wheels with matching sparePrivacy glassPower tailgateHeated, power-folding side mirrors with puddle lamps12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen infotainment screen7 seatsLeather-accented upholstery8-way power driver seatLeather-wrapped steering wheelDriver and passenger floor matsUpper glove boxOff-road screen (4×4 models only)Rotary drive mode selector (4×4 models only)Sand, Mud/Ruts drive modesBlack stand-off roof railsZone lighting400W interior outlet (NEW, 2025.25MY)Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpertCamera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert Everest Sport adds: 20-inch ****** alloy wheels with matching spareBlack exterior accentsHandsfree power tailgateBlack 3D bonnet letteringUnique leather-accented upholstery with ‘SPORT’ embossingUnique interior colour accents10-way power driver seat with memory8-way power passenger seatHeated and cooled front seatsRemoves 10-speaker audio (NEW, 2025.25MY) Everest Platinum adds: 21-inch alloy wheels with matching spareBlack-painted roofSatin chrome exterior accentsMatrix LED *********** with auto-levelling12.4-inch digital instrument cluster12-speaker B&O premium sound systemSurround-view cameraTyre pressure monitoringSatin chrome interior accentsLeather-accented quilted upholsteryHeated second row seatsPower-folding third row seatsHeated steering wheelPremium front and rear floor matsInterior ambient lightingRemoves active park assist (NEW, 2025.25MY) To see how the Everest compares with its rivals, check out our comparison tool Options The Everest Platinum is available with the following options. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert To see how the Everest compares with its rivals, check out our comparison tool CarExpert’s Take on the Ford Everest The Everest remains a benchmark for large 4WD SUVs, and the fully-loaded Platinum – while pricey – is a showcase of everything the nameplate has to offer in its current iteration. Camera Icon2025 Ford Everest Credit: CarExpert It’s loaded with everything Ford can throw at it, including the trick Matrix LED *********** and full digital instrument cluster, while the more luxurious trimmings inside make this less of a workhorse-come-family-bus and a bit more premium tourer. Ford’s V6 turbo-diesel is a peach, and is a great all-rounder in terms of everyday commuting performance as well as heavy-duty hauling. Even in manicured Platinum trim, the Everest V6 feels purpose built for *********** families. But the flagship’s asking price is getting precariously close to more premium metal. The Volkswagen Touareg 170TDI is only $5000 more and is arguably a lot more premium and refined thanks to its shared underpinnings with the likes of the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga, and is also rated to tow 3.5 tonnes. If you don’t plan to tow or go off-road, the Mazda CX-90 D50e GT has more space for people and is more luxuriously trimmed with a similarly punchy six-cylinder diesel, and that’s before you go into other road-biased rivals the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Sorento. But that’s not why you buy an Everest, is it? Ford’s trusty family 4WD is the Ranger for mums and dads who want to bring the kids and their friends along for the ride, with equivalent capability and more refinement than the brand’s top-selling ute – and the Platinum is perfect for those that want all that but with a dash of fancy. 25. Coweta County elementary school principal charged with shoplifting Coweta County elementary school principal charged with shoplifting The Brief The principal of Coweta County’s Thomas Crossroads Elementary has been charged with felony theft by shoplifting. Deputies say Dr. Letitia J. Crosby was caught on camera stealing over $900 in merchandise from a Kohl’s Department Store in early January. Store employees told investigators that Crosby had previously been caught trying to steal from the store months earlier. COWETA COUNTY, Ga. – The principal of a Coweta County elementary school is facing charges after deputies say she was caught on camera shoplifting from a local department store. Dr. Letitia J. Crosby, the principal of Thomas Crossroads Elementary, is charged with felony theft by shoplifting. What we know FOX 5 obtained the report from a Coweta County deputy that led to Crosby’s arrest. In the report, the deputy says that they had responded to the Kohl’s Department Store on the 1100 block of Bullsboro Drive on Jan. 13 after getting a report of a theft. One of the store’s employees told the deputy that a woman had walked through the store earlier in January, filled up a shopping cart, and then walked out of the front door without paying. According to the employee’s report, the woman entered Kohl’s on Jan. 6 and took T-shirts, sweaters, at least one dress, jewelry, gift bags, and more. She then allegedly exited the store with the goods without paying. The total for all the items taken was around $917, the deputy said. The employee also told investigators that this was not the first time the woman had tried to steal from the department store. She reportedly had previously been stopped from taking nearly $300 in merchandise without paying on Nov. 18, 2024. That incident had not been reported to law enforcement. The employee provided the deputy with photos and video of the January incident. After an investigation, officers arrested Crosby on Jan. 23 and took her into custody. What we don’t know Dr. Letitia Crosby (Coweta County Schools) FOX 5 has reached out to the Coweta County School System for their response to the investigation and have not received an answer. The backstory According to the Coweta County Schools website, Crosby has served as the principal of Thomas Crossroads Elementary since the 2019 school year. She had previously worked at East Coweta High School as a science teacher and department chair and at Lee Middle School as assistant principal. What’s next Crosby bonded out of jail a day after her arrest. The case has now been turned over to the Coweta County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. The Source Information for this story was taken from a Coweta County Sheriff’s Office report and statement as well as the Coweta County Schools website.
