An Intel GPU partner is reportedly working on a custom Intel Arc B580 graphics card that chains two of the gaming GPUs together, like the old SLI graphics cards of yesteryear. Not only that, but it reportedly has a whopping 48GB of VRAM - even more than the mighty RTX 5090. Multi-GPU setups for gaming have been tried and tested in the past, but they've never really caught on, and we weren't expecting this tech to raise its head again in 2025, especially with an Intel GPU. The best graphics cards are powerful enough individually, and multi-GPU setups can introduce compatibility problems too, although we're sure that the most committed gaming enthusiasts would still like to own one if they could. Wizards of the Coast has been gradually rolling out what it's got in store for Magic: The Gathering and its big Final Fantasy crossover this summer. Over the weekend, the team debuted a significant chunk of cards, from both the main set and the Commander decks, and fans are enjoying some of the fun and even surprising cuts from their favorite Final Fantasy games. The Universes Beyond collaboration with Final Fantasy is getting both the usual Commander treatment and a booster-driven series, so there are a lot of cards to go over. The main set tinkers with the entirety of Final Fantasy's mainline, numbered games, running from Final Fantasy 1 to Final Fantasy 16. The Commander Decks, meanwhile, focus on four specific games: Final Fantasy 6, 7, 10, and 14, with their respective Commanders of Terra, Cloud, Tidus, and Y'shtola. Some of the cards shown at last Saturday's Magic: The Gathering panel at PAX East captured the journey of individual characters throughout their games. Final Fantasy IV's Cecil, for example, has an entire mechanic around transforming from a Dark Knight into a Paladin. The summons of Final Fantasy utilize a "Saga Creature" set-up, to act as powerful but temporary forces on the field, melding Magic and Final Fantasy concepts in the process. Then you have cards like Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER, with artwork from Square's Tetsuya Nomura. The transformation along the card illustrates Sephiroth's various forms throughout the FF7 universe, from a young fighter into, eventually, Safer Sephiroth on the card Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel. [FIN] Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel (Debut Showcase) byu/mweepinc inmagicTCG .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } And what would a Final Fantasy be without some Cids? The Final Fantasy set will include a Cid from each of the numbered Final Fantasy games, though Wizards is opting for the older Cid from Final Fantasy XV over his daughter, Cindy. [FIN] Cid, Timeless Artificer (Debut Stream) byu/mweepinc inmagicTCG .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } After Saturday's panel, though, Wizards of the Coast released the decklist for the four aforementioned Commander decks, and fans started poring over the art and additions to see how the team adapted those four Final Fantasy games into Magic. Pretty well, it turns out. Reprints, or new versions of existing Magic cards, get some clever crossovers with Final Fantasy lore. Skullclamp, for instance, draws on the Jenova project in Final Fantasy 7 for its art. [FIC] Skullclamp, feat JENOVA byu/felipeshaman inmagicTCG .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } Together, Forever also takes an emotional stab at the Final Fantasy 10 fans out there. It shouldn't be surprising that Final Fantasy 10 has some emotional wellsprings to draw from, with its central protagonists' journey through a ruined land, on a somber pilgrimage. Several decks' cards reference some notable character moments, by the way, so you might want to go into these decklists aware that there will be some story spoilers for each respective game. But to lighten things up, one of Final Fantasy 10's more iconic, and frequently memed, moments also made the cut with Inspiring Call. [FIC] Inspiring Call byu/nmidori inmagicTCG .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } In fact, Wizards found more than a few ways to incorporate Final Fantasy's less-serious moments into cards. Clever Concealment puts a spin on the Wall Market scene with Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa in dresses, heading to Don Corneo's, and even has a mechanic that seems fitting for the occassion. I'm a big fan of the Secret Rendezvous card, which has four different versions of the Golden Saucer date scene from Final Fantasy 7 with each potential date: Aerith, Tifa, Yuffie, and Barret. [FIC] Four versions of Secret Rendezvous byu/Infinite_Bananas inmagicTCG .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } Even still, fans have been discovering the tiny details that show how much homage is being paid to the source material. The Final Fantasy 14 set, in particular, has quite a few references to the critically acclaimed MMORPG. The Hildibrand Manderville card mimics the infamous gentleman's habit of disappearing and returning, making for quite an interesting White/****** card in the process. One user on the FFXIV subreddit noted that the Archaeomancer's Map card uses a real possible location found in a Gaganaskin Treasure Map, for instance. In turn, Final Fantasy 14 players have been having fun with the cards. There are some jokes about wondering who the Thancred card represents, referencing the "This is Thancred" meme. And there's the alternative flavor text a user added to the Rite of Replication card, commemorating everyone's favorite speech from A Realm Reborn: Honestly, I feel like this was too much flavor text for the MTG collab card... byu/Sir5000 inffxiv .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } Even the Tome of Legends card depicts a Wondrous Tails book, with all the little details you see in-game when a player picks up their Tails and, of course, several missed four-in-a-row connections. Khloe Made It To MTG (Spoilers: Heavensward) byu/Fycadius inffxiv .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } There's some clear attention to detail put into these cards, and it's certainly got me intrigued to see the full set. While the Commander games got a lot of love in these cards, a few reveals from Saturday's panel like Commune With Beavers have me eager to see how some of the other Final Fantasy games got adapated into the full Magic set. Magic: The Gathering's Final Fantasy set is out on June 13, 2025, with pre-release weekend one week prior. Eric is a freelance writer for IGN. View the full article

What is the Battlefield 6 release date? When Battlefield is firing on all cylinders, it's a thing to behold: tactical, dynamic, and immersive, there isn't much else like it out there. Some games have tried to emulate the feel of Battlefield, admittedly with mixed results, so a brand new, numbered entry in one of the best FPS series is something to get excited about. The last Battlefield game that graced our screens was 2042, and it left a bitter taste for some, having eschewed some of the core principles that made the multiplayer game great. Battlefield 6 looks to learn from those mistakes, hopefully capturing some of that early magic, gathering old players and, with any luck, a new audience in the process. Read the rest of the story... Although it's been a modest success on Steam, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre deserves more attention. Mechanically, it puts a smart, sinister spin on Dead By Daylight, pitting multiple survivors (or, as the game refers to them, 'victims') against a trio of killers, each of them outfitted with unique, sometimes complementary abilities. More significantly, developer Gun goes to great lengths to capture the visuals and atmosphere of the original 1974 movie - if film-to-game adaptations have a reputation for being low-effort cash ins, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is up there with notable exceptions like Alien Isolation. Now, just shy of two years since it was released, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is finished. Developer Gun says the game has reached its "full potential." Read the rest of the story... Yet another leak has appeared that potentially reveals some of the core specs for the so far unannounced budget-friendly AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT. While the details aren't yet confirmed, this new leak suggests a gaming GPU that is likely to compete directly with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti. It's fair to say that this newest generation of best graphics cards has seen more competition than in previous years, but especially in the mid-to-lower tier of the market, even if Nvidia continues to hold most of the market share. AMD has had success with the RX 9070 XT, and it no doubt hopes to have more with the RX 9060 XT, although a recent RX 9060 XT price rumor suggests that it might not be as affordable as gamers hope. Valve has just announced that it's introducing another compatibility check system for gaming handhelds, this time to verify whether third-party machines running Steam Deck OS can still run certain games. The move comes as the Steam Deck compatibility system comes under fire for verifying games that barely run on the handheld, while new SteamOS handhelds, such as the Lenovo Legion Go S, are waiting in the wings. Despite hefty competition, the Steam Deck remains the best handheld you can buy for gaming right now, thanks to the smooth usability of SteamOS compared to the often clunky experience of using Windows on alternative devices. However, the current Valve certification system for games has come in for heavy criticism over the last few weeks, with games such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Steam Deck getting full Verified status, despite rarely being able to hit 30fps on the Deck, and with extremely long loading times too. It's been exactly one year since Marvel Rivals entered closed alpha on May 13, 2024, and to celebrate, the devs have unveiled a pretty massive change. The season zero battle pass is back for a limited time, and all other battle passes could now return, too. In the Dev Talk Vol. 14 blog, the Marvel Rivals team highlighted a few big features to celebrate the anniversary. The biggest one revolves around battle pass changes, with the season zero pass set to return from May 15 to 29, and all battle passes now potentially able to come back in the future. Screenshot by Destructoid The season zero battle pass will be discounted to 590 Lattice when it returns for the anniversary. This is a one-time deal, as the devs explained that all future battle passes that make a return will be upcharged to cost at least 20 percent more than the original. "Guess there's no such thing as exclusivity in this game," one fan said on X (formerly Twitter). This seems to be the general sentiment most players have, and it's understandable since battle passes were generally perceived to be exclusive before this change. There was never any official information about whether Marvel Rivals passes and items from them could return, but since they have only been available with the corresponding season so far, most players took this to mean they were one and done. This isn't the case, though, as it's now been confirmed that all passes can return at any point. [Hidden Content] Exclusivity is a tricky feature to balance. On the one hand, many players get excited by the prospect of having rare items that not everyone has access to. On the other hand, it can be frustrating to miss out on items if you weren't around when they were released. It's a problem other games deal with too, and one that comes up especially often in Fortnite. There's always going to be a lot of controversy with strong beliefs on either side, so this change is certainly a big one for Marvel Rivals and begs the question: Is it fair to longtime players? I get both sides of the argument, and that it's tough to get it right. After seeing similar issues arise in other games, I'm a fan of the Fortnite system for handling exclusivity issues, and I'm hoping that Marvel Rivals follows suit. Since many players believed the season zero battle pass was exclusive prior to the May 13 announcement, an easy fix to make this change go over better is to give OG pass owners some kind of variant. Even something as simple as an exclusive costume color variant for one of the battle pass skins would work. Screenshot by Destructoid There have been times when Fortnite has accidentally put items in the shop that were meant to be exclusive, and to fix this, they created a different variant for the OG owners. I like this fix because it feels like the perfect compromise. Everyone gets to enjoy the items while still keeping a bit of exclusivity intact, but not in a way that massively leaves out players. "You did everything right in this game until now. Why devalue your OG playerbase that's been there from the beginning by giving this to everyone now?" another fan said on X (formerly Twitter) following the announcement. I'm not strongly for or against exclusivity, but I do think the best way to handle it is simply allowing all players to get the base items and granting unique variants to OG players. Since there are lots of players who feel strongly on both sides, it's important to find a middle ground for this situation, and this seems like the best compromise for everyone involved. What do you think about the battle pass exclusivity changes, and are you hoping for any additional adjustments or fixes? Currently, Ananta doesn't have an official release date, but there's speculation it could arrive in late 2025 or early 2026. Given the lack of updates since early this year, a 2026 release seems more likely. With no beta tests conducted yet (only one technical test so far), it may still be a while before the full launch. Millions of users have signed up, which could potentially lead to beta testing in the near future. Hopefully, by then, we'll get a clearer picture of Ananta's debut. What platforms will Ananta be on? Ananta will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, and PC. There's no confirmation yet on an Xbox release, but it's still a possibility, especially given NetEase Games' history with the platform. The game will also be free-to-play, making it accessible to a wide range of players. All Ananta trailers Ananta made its first debut as Project Mugen in the Tomorrow and Surprises Come Together trailer, which showcased an inside look at its gameplay. Once the game goes live, players can expect a variety of activities like beach volleyball, mahjong, and basketball. Like any RPG, Ananta will feature plenty of combat. [Hidden Content] is Ananta about? In the universe of Ananta, you'll play as an Agent in the Anti-Chaos Directorate (A.C.D.). Your mission: manage the chaos that's erupted along the coast of Nova City. Paranormal activity has flooded the streets, and it's up to the A.C.D. to uncover the secrets behind it before humanity slips into destruction. Befriend your fellow agents and dive into the heart of a metropolis on the brink. More Ananta characters are sure to be revealed at launch, and if it follows in the footsteps of HoYoverse titles, you can expect to step into the shoes of each one, assembling your own elite team of Agents. Technology varies by GPU." [/url]Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU in Stock on Amazon Amazon Prime members only for some models Although the MSRP for these cards range from $899.99 to $999.99, a reference GeForce RTX 5070 Ti card is actually supposed to sell for $750. More advanced cooling designs, a more uncommon colorway, or overclocking out of the box add to the cost, but even then, admittedly, these cards are still priced higher than what Nvidia originally advertised. The reality is that even third party manufacturers like Gigabyte, MSI, Asus (and pretty much everyone else) are also taking advantage of the high demand by marking prices up from the get-go. Unfortunately, you'd be hard pressed to find another RTX 5070 Ti GPU for this price or less. RTX 5070 Ti GPUs are generally selling for over $1,000 on eBay. The RTX 5070 Ti GPU Has Excellent 4K Gaming Performance Of all the Blackwell cards released thus far, the RTX 5070 Ti offers the best bang for your buck, especially when pitted against the previous generation GPUs. It performs neck-and-neck with the RTX 4080 Super and already marginalizes the RTX 5080, which is only about 10%-15% faster but costs 33% more. This GPU is capable of high framerates in nearly all games, even at 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled. Heck, even if you plan on using this card for AI, the RTX 5070 Ti might be the better value than the RTX 50870 since both are equipped with the same 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM. Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU Review by Jacqueline Thomas "At $749, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is the best 4K graphics card for most people, delivering much better value than either the RTX 5080 or 5090. Across my entire test suite, this GPU soared at 4K, coming within striking distance of much more expensive graphics cards, and that’s before taking multi frame generation into account, which will make the RTX 5070 Ti even better at hitting extremely high framerates, albeit with a hit to latency."
