Day of the Devs: Summer Edition 2025 might already be over but it's left a lasting impact on me for all the lovely indie games that got revealed, but it was one returning indie game that tugged at my heartstrings after months of waiting to hear more from it, and of course it got delayed by a year. Big Walk, from House House, has been a game I have wanted to learn more about for a while now. It's the team that gave us Untitled Goose Game, and the weird mystery surrounding its setting, visuals, and gameplay had alluded us until the reveal gameplay overview trailer dropped. [Hidden Content] It's a simple game premise. You walk around a big map with your friends exploring, completing puzzles, and likely getting lost or separated in the expansive world. The more I see it and hear the ambient music, the more I feel like there is a ******* secret at play here other than 'walk and talk' as the developers have been pitching it. It feels like a game where no two play sessions are the same, where a group of friends can go different paths and discover things at different times. It's also nice to see a game focused on freedom with friends, creative fun moments, and living in the moment. The inclusion of proximity voice chat, so you can actually get lost and have to find each other using tools available to you, is a nice touch. The puzzles briefly shown off also feel wonderful, and really play on this communication-type of game the developers are trying to craft. I'm sorry, I'm gushing now. It looks like the perfect game, and I want to get my hands on it as soon as possible. But of course, I need to wait until next year to finally see if it lives up to my anticipation. After watching the trailer, I just needed a space to gush and talk about what I have seen in hopes someone else will watch the trailer as well and think 'that looks so cool!' A sequel to 2020’s Lovecraftian narrative puzzle adventure Call of the Sea has been announced. Call of the Elder Gods will see players “journey to the far corners of the Earth and unearth ancient horrors” when it’s released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. I've generally avoided Bennet Foddy's games, given they are essentially purpose-built frustration generators. But there's something that intrigues me about Baby Steps. Maybe it’s the inherent slapstick comedy built into the concept of a schlub trying to walk up a mountain with physics-empowered feet. Maybe it's the fact it's been co-developed by Gabe Cuzzillo and Maxi Boch, creators of jazzy gorilla slaughterfest Ape Out. Madden NFL 26 is set to launch in August this year and will include all the classic gameplay modes you've come to expect from the franchise, but completely overhauled and updated to include new and improved features to enhance your experience. While the core gameplay will have the same basic structure as other Madden games, classic modes such as Franchise and Superstar Mode are getting improved immersion and customization features that promise to give players a more well-rounded and realistic experience. A new Plague Tale game from developer Asobo Studio has leaked ahead of an official announcement which could be made later today. The existence of a third entry in the Plague Tale series was reportedly first revealed in a since-deleted Threads post from publisher Focus Entertainment. A teaser trailer for the game, which is viewable below, also seemingly confirms its title, launch window and target platforms.
