Helldivers 2 developers Arrowhead have unleashed the latest twist in the game's Galactic War, with urban battles against the Terminids now on the cards. Rather than defending cities on Super Earth, this time the task is swatting bug invasions of population centres across multiple planets. A tough assignment, but to be fair, successfully protecting their home planet against the still-at-large Illuminate should have given players plenty experience of street fighting (not the Ryu and Chun-Li kind). The first-ever spinoff for Splatoon is debuting exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. This spinoff is called Splatoon Raiders and was revealed through a surprise short trailer that dropped on June 10. Splatoon has had quite a few games released over the years, but this series has never seen a spinoff until now. Since all Splatoon games are made by Nintendo, it's not too surprising that this one is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game. [Hidden Content] In this game, you'll take on the role of a mechanic sent off on an adventure to the Spirhalite Islands. You're joined by the iconic Deep Cut trio from Splatoon 3, including Shiver, Frye, and Big Man, so there are some familiar faces to help you along your journey. The trailer follows a helicopter with you and the Deep Cut trio flying toward the mysterious Spirhalite Islands. A strange glow appears in the sky, and chaos erupts, sending your helicopter swirling through the sky. After this shot, several gameplay scenes are showcased. There's a large wooden raft, various shots of the character you play as, fishing, and of course, plenty of shooting. The trailer for Splatoon Raiders only takes up about 1:10 of the 5:30 trailer, and the rest of it is dedicated to a new free update for Splatoon 3 arriving on June 12. Image via Nintendo The Splatoon 3 update highlighted in this trailer features a fresh collection of weapons, the Splatlands collection. There are 30 new weapon kits included in this collection. The Urchin Underpass stage from the original Splatoon is also returning in Splatoon 3. No release date was shared for Splatoon Raiders, and no additional information has been revealed outside of this small glimpse into what the game will entail. Nintendo did confirm that more details will be shared in the future, so we're sure to learn more about this upcoming release soon. While you wait for Splatoon Raiders to arrive, there's plenty to keep you busy on the Nintendo Switch 2, like unlocking mirror mode or rewinding time in Mario Kart World. The post Booyah! While it's supposed to be tough, the new Lies of P Overture DLC might take the challenge too far. A new director's letter from developer Neowiz acknowledges how some parts of the expansion didn't quite turn out as intended, and the team promises that it's looking into potential difficulty nerfs soon. It feels like there's a checklist that every videogame has to adhere to these days. Does it have a solid, emotion-driven narrative? Is the world seemingly endless? Is it 50 hours long? Videogames just keep getting *******, but I consistently find that they lose their sparkle as a result. Dying Light 2 was, in some ways, one of those games - the zombies didn't feel like the focus until the introduction of Tower Raid. Dying Light: The Beast, however, promises to go back to the series' survival horror roots, with franchise director Tymon Smektała telling PCGamesN that it's trading out human politics and factional conflict for good ol' fashioned zombie slaying.
