  8. Among Us developer Innersloth has found a reference to its game in the new chapters of Deltarune, sparking a little bit of friendly back-and-forth between Innersloth and Deltarune developer Toby Fox on social media. Warning! No major plot spoilers will be discussed in this article, but if you don't want to know anything about anything that happens in Deltarune Chapter 4, maybe this article isn't for you! The reference can be found at the start of Chapter 4, when Kris, Susie, and Noelle are exploring Noelle's house. Kris can lead the gang into a closet full of empty gift boxes, and if Kris chooses to examine several of the boxes, Noelle will ask Kris what they're doing. To this, Susie reponds, "I mean... gotta admit this room is kinda sus... especially that vent." Noelle then replies, "Haha, nice reference, Susie!" ...though Susie doesn't seem to know what Noelle is talking about ("Huh? ...reference?") Susie was, of course, accidentally calling to mind Among Us, both by using the word "sus" and referencing vents, which Among Us players frequently hide in. This has seemingly thrilled the Innersloth social media person, who took to X / Twitter to say, "AHHHHH AMONG US REFERENCE IN DELTARUNE SKDJDSLSLX;LSKDK IMMA ****** OUT" followed by "thanks king @tobyfox" In response, Fox decided to do a little trolling: [Hidden Content] — tobyfox (@tobyfox) June 12, 2025 He posted a fake screenshot of Deltarune patch notes, which read: We are releasing a hotfix for PC & Mac to remedy some issues occurring in the game. You can confirm the version number on the bottom right of the file select screen. Changelist Ch4 v.0.0.088 8 Removed among us Innersloth replied with "RESPECT." If it's not apparent, Fox didn't actually remove the reference; he's just goofing around. Funnily enough, this gag is also a silly way to note that Fox has been playing around with version numbers: the 2021 release of chapters 1 and 2 was marked as version 1.0, but instead of chapters 3 and 4 being 2.0, the new release was v.0.0.087. Deltarune chapters 3 and 4 launched last week to immediate skyrocketing popularity on Steam, and our own reviewer gave the full game a 9/10, saying that even though the story's only halfway done, "Deltarune's incredible story is already bursting with hilarious charm, unforgettable characters, and an iconic soundtrack that make it worth investing your time in." Rebekah Valentine is a senior reporter for IGN. You can find her posting on BlueSky @duckvalentine.bsky.social. Got a story tip? Send it to [email protected]. View the full article

  10. Okay, now, I know you've probably read that headline and thought to yourself "why on earth would outdated UI in Silent Hill f be a good thing?" Allow me to explain! To be a contrarian for a moment, I think that a large amount of triple-A games have incredibly boring UI. It's very much because of that late 2010s trend of simple, emboss-free graphic design you see in logo design everywhere these days, and I hate it. Read more View the full article
  11. Crusader Kings 3, Stellaris, and Europa Universalis 4 creator and publisher Paradox has maintained a solid track record with its indie-focused Paradox Arc label. Since the company debuted Arc in 2022, its put out everything from Surviving the Abyss and Escape the Mad Empire to Starminer and Across the Obelisk. One of the most noteworthy Arc projects, though, is Stardeus, a colony sim that entered Early Access in the same year Arc was formed. 14. Baldur's Gate 3 has come a long way since its release, but one of its followers is still sorely lacking when it comes to backstory. Baldur's Gate 3 has seen numerous patches since it first came out, introducing everything from minor bug fixes to massive new content drops. Most recent was Patch 8, the final major update to Baldur's Gate 3, which introduced several new playable subclasses among many other new features. Although the patch didn't introduce much new story content, it does signal an end to updates that do, meaning that BG3's story is now in its final draft. View the full article
  15. Elden Ring Nightreign is a bit of an enigma as a follow-up to FromSoftware's beloved Elden Ring – it twists the RPG's combat into a lightning-fast roguelite – but once you get a few runs under your belt, the general gameplay loop is pretty straightforward. It's still quite challenging, just like any other FromSoftware game in the same lineage, but it also carries the studio's tradition of being a bit obtuse. There are some obscured mechanics you might never figure out on your own. View the full article

  18. I feel like every time I write about shooters, I always have to add a caveat along the lines of, "I don't really like shooters… but!" There often is a but, because occasionally one of 'em rolls around that feels like it just gets me, you know? This week, it's a shooter that feels like it was born to be a Flash game on Newgrounds in the mid-2000s that you'll sometimes bring up to your friends saying "man, remember that one game?" It's called Shooty Shooty Robot Invasion, and as simple as its title is, there's a lot going for it. Read more View the full article
  19. Steam Next Fest is always a blast, as game developers line up to offer up a slice of their upcoming games for players to download and enjoy. This latest iteration of Steam Next Fest is full of some incredible titles that range across every genre you could imagine, along with some genre combinations you would never even consider. We've been playing them all, and we have a list of suggestions to try out before this Next Fest comes to an end. Here are our picks for some of the best demos to play during Steam Next Fest in June 2025. Table of contents10 best Steam Next Fest demosAbsolumBALL x PITPhase ZeroPIGFACEDead as DiscoWindsweptAmbrosia SkyLetters to ArrallaMIMESIS10 best Steam Next Fest demosAbsolum Image via Dotemu The latest from Streets of Rage 4 devs Guard Crush is a demo I got to play a bit early ahead of Steam Next Fest, and it's one I'm incredibly excited for. It's a roguelike side-scrolling beat-em-up with an interesting story premise and three playable characters, and it's the first original IP from TMNT: Shredder's Revenge publisher Dotemu. BALL x PIT Image via Devolver Digital Break ******, build your base, and upgrade your characters in yet another roguelite, but this one has had me addicted since I first played it. I'm not even sad that demo progress doesn't carry over, though, because it's just that addicting. Phase Zero Image via SPINA Studio The latest in an ever-growing line of classic PS1 Resident Evil-likes, and this one skyrocketed to the top of my list after playing it. Fixed camera angles, inventory management, puzzle solving, and zombies? Yeah, I am all the way in. PIGFACE Image via DreadXP Sticking with the horror theme, PIGFACE reminds me of Manhunt and Hotline Miami if they got together and made a creepy, retro FPS. Ultraviolent and disturbing, this one combines stealth and gunplay to create something worth keeping an eye on. Dead as Disco Image via Brain Jar Games, Inc. This is simply one of the most stylish and promising game demos I've played in some time. It combines Batman: Arkham-style simplified combat with disco music to create something that's utterly satisfying, and it's all soaked in neon for beautiful added effect. Windswept Image via Top Hat Studios, Inc. A duck and a turtle combine to create one of the most charming demos in this Steam Next Fest, brilliantly recreating the feeling and look of classic retro platformers, but with some awesome and interesting new gameplay mechanics as the two animals work together to progress. Ambrosia Sky Image via Soft Rains Part Power Wash Simulator, part narrative game, Ambrosia Sky is all potential. You're tasked with spraying alien ******* while performing last rites for the dead, and playing the demo was all I needed to generate some genuine interest. Letters to Arralla Image via Little Pink Clouds One of the most unique demos I played this week, this one stars a turnip with **** asscheeks delivering mail on an island where everybody else is a caked up fruit or vegetable, too. I'd suggest trying it just to see that it's actually real. MIMESIS Image via ReLU Games, Inc. Games like Lethal Company and REPO going popular have created an entirely new subgenre of spooky co-op games, and this one may be the creepiest. The game will record you and your teammates to then try and make monsters use your voices to mimic you in the game. Major Palia Radiance Rising update features You can participate in the Elderwood Piksii Blossom Bounce event in the Elderwood region. The trees will sparkle blue about five minutes before the event begins. You'll have to stay afloat with the help of the platforms and work together to break the shields around the bluer seeds. Together, you and your friends can get exclusive Elderwood flower seeds to grow and other rewards. Screenshot via Singularity 6 A new Prismbeard's Treasure questline requires you to travel to the Grimalkin territory. You and your friend can solve puzzles and hunt for Prismbeard's legendary treasure chest. This quest can be enjoyed even if you're yet to complete the main story, as being level 30 is good enough. Rewards include Prismbeard's Lamp, Prismbeard's Figurehead, and Prismbeard's Statue. There are also six extra Discovery quests that will allow you to explore Elderwood and its surrounding regions to hunt for new treasures. There are plenty of quality-of-life improvements in Palia, which we have highlighted in the following sections. A new **** will join you in the form of an adorable Platinum Galdur Pup. After completing this quest, you can add courier slots, and they can be equipped on any ****. 21. There's nothing sadder than wanting to play a nice, relaxing game only to realize its servers are down. In Pikmin Bloom's case, this can range from the game itself experiencing server issues to your phone requiring a quick update. Are Pikmin Bloom servers down? At the time of writing, Pikmin Bloom's servers are down as part of a global outage affecting hundreds of games, websites, and other web services. However, this is an uncommon issue, with most outages affecting only Pikmin Bloom itself or, in some cases, several of Scopely or Niantic's other games. When this is the case, you won't be able to log in and play Pikmin Bloom, even if your connection is stable. Screenshot by Destructoid In some cases, however, it can be a player-side issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this: Check Pikmin Bloom's download page for new updatesMake sure you have a stable internet connectionClose any background applications or games that can interfere with Pikmin Bloom's featuresCheck Pikmin Bloom's server statusRestart your phoneUninstall and reinstall Pikmin Bloom If there's no sign that Pikmin Bloom's outage is a server-side issue and it's, instead, an error on your side, the tips above can help you resolve it quickly without resorting to any extreme solutions. Before you do anything, let's find out how to check Pikmin Bloom's server status. How to check Pikmin Bloom server status Pikmin Bloom doesn't have an official server status page that tells you whether its services are experiencing an outage. Instead, you can use the following resources to check for any signs of server issues: Pikmin Bloom's Twitter (X) profileThe Pikmin Bloom community forumsPikmin Bloom's Community Reddit page Alternatively, you can contact Niantic's customer support for more information about the current situation. That way, they can confirm or deny whether there are any server-wide outages and provide an ETA for when they'll be resolved. Otherwise, if it's an issue on your end, they can walk you through some potential solutions that can help you fix it. The post Is Pikmin Bloom down? 22. Mario Kart World is full of laughs and rage, but sometimes, the only thing that can stop the good (and angering) times are server outages. If the Mario Kart World servers are down, you can't win any races. You also can't get hit by a blue shell at the finish line and lose any races either, but the good comes with the bad. If there are server problems, Lakitu isn't letting anyone on any tracks, so you might be out of luck. Here's how to check Mario Kart World's server status to see if the game is having issues with online connectivity. Mario Kart World server status Image via Nintendo To check Mario Kart World's server status, visit the official Nintendo Switch Online service status website. Otherwise, check something like DownDetector for Nintendo Switch Online to see if people are reporting outages. If the servers are down, the game will often give Error Code: 2321-4608 when trying to play anything in online multiplayer for Nintendo Switch Online. This means that there are connection issues with the game servers, and you likely won't be able to connect. If this is the case, there's likely not much you can do as it's a server-side issue. If you think the problem with connecting to Mario Kart World or Nintendo Switch Online might be on your end, try resetting your internet connection, restarting your Nintendo Switch 2, or closing and re-opening Mario Kart World to see if you keep getting the problem. It's always worth checking social media like X/Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram to see if others are having the same issue as you. If the problem persists, it's likely a widespread issue and there's nothing you can really do besides wait it out. We suggest playing some Grand Prix or other singleplayer or offline multiplayer modes in the meantime until the servers come back and you can continue attempting to grab wins in Knockout Tour and other online modes. 23. Street Fighter 6's servers are in a pickle as of June 12, affecting many online services. While you can access the single-player stuff, fun is all about battling out with other players. The easiest way is to go online and match with your friends/other players. Unfortunately, that won't be possible if you can't connect to Capcom's servers. Hence, knowing the server status becomes very important before you sit down with your arcade stick (or your controller if you're like me). Table of contentsIs Street Fighter 6 down today? (June 12)How do I check the Street Fighter 6 server status? Is Street Fighter 6 down today? (June 12) As of this writing, Street Fighter 6's servers are down globally. Almost every major region and its available servers have been affected. Typically, the servers are down if Capcom is performing routine maintenance. This problem, however, appears to be part of a global server outage. Several servers of different websites (not just related to games) are out as of writing, and it appears that the Street Fighter 6 servers are also affected. As of writing, there's no ETA on when the problem will be resolved. [Hidden Content] do I check the Street Fighter 6 server status? The easiest way to check the server status is by visiting the game's official X account. Alternatively, you should also follow Capcom's X account. A prior notice is sent out on social media when there's an upcoming maintenance. This allows the community to prepare for outages. The last routine maintenance was during the first week of June. In cases like tonight, your best bet is to ask on the game's subreddit or use Downdetector. You can use the website to check the server status based on your region. You can easily change the region to know the global status of the servers. If you notice a plethora of red dots on Downdetector, it's more than likely that the servers are down.
