  6. The Borderlands 4 system requirements have been revealed, and they're a lot more demanding than we expected. Despite this, there appears to be no upscaling used to meet the requirements, which is a big positive compared to the likes of FBC Firebreak and Hell is Us. You aren't going to need the best gaming PC to run Borderlands 4, let's make that clear nice and early. However, the specs start a little higher than a lot of other modern 3D games, meaning some upgrades could be required if you're going to want to play at 4K with a solid 60fps frame rate. 11. There's nothing worse than setting out on an adventure with friends in Minecraft only to lose them along the way. Trying to meet up again can be tricky using only coordinates, but the player locator bar makes this process a lot easier. The player locator bar wasn't always a feature in Minecraft and was only officially added with the Chase the Skies update on June 17, 2025. Since it wasn't always around, there's a decent chance you're not familiar with how it works. Here's everything you need to know about how to use the player locator bar in Minecraft. Table of contentsHow does the player locator bar work in Minecraft? How to find players with the player locator bar in MinecraftHow to turn on the player locator bar in MinecraftHow to hide from the player locator bar in MinecraftHow to turn off the player locator bar in MinecraftHow does the player locator bar work in Minecraft? Screenshot by Destructoid The player locator bar takes over the XP bar whenever there are other players in the same world as you and you're not earning XP. Other players appear as colored dots that move around the bar depending on which direction you need to head to find them. If a player happens to be much higher or lower than you, an arrow will appear above or below the icon to help you find their exact location. This system is sort of similar to a compass, as the dots act as arrows pointing you in the right direction. The icon marking other players on this bar changes depending on how far or close they are to you. There are four different symbols you may see appear on the player locator bar. Square – The player is between zero and 179 blocks away. Circle – The player is between 179 and 230 blocks away. Small square – The player is between 230 and 281 blocks away. Small circle – The player is 281 or more blocks away. How to find players with the player locator bar in Minecraft You can find other players using the player locator bar by simply following the colored dot associated with the player you're seeking. The easiest way to do this is to turn around in a circle until you get the colored dot you want to follow right in the middle of your bar. Once it's there, you can simply head straight until you find them. Your goal is essentially to keep heading towards the marker that's highlighting whichever player you're trying to find. Screenshot by Destructoid How to turn on the player locator bar in Minecraft The player locator bar is on by default, so you don't need to do anything to turn it on. If, for some reason, it doesn't seem to be active, you can type the /gamerule locatorbar true command into the chat box to activate it. You need to be the owner of the server to use this command. How to hide from the player locator bar in Minecraft If you don't want to be tracked by the player locator bar, there are three ways you can hide your location from it. The three different methods you can use are: Sneak – Crouch to sneak and remain off the player locator bar radar.Be invisible – Drink a potion of invisibility to vanish from the player locator bar. Wear a mask – Wear a mob head or a carved pumpkin to get around fast without being detected by the player locator bar. The drawback with this method is that you can't also wear a helmet. How to turn off the player locator bar in Minecraft Screenshot by Destructoid There are two different ways you can turn off the player locator bar. To use either of these methods, you must be the owner of the server you're trying to modify, so if you're not, you'll need to have the owner do so instead. The two methods you can use are as follows. By typing the /gamerule locatorbar false command into the chat box. On the Bedrock Edition, you can freely toggle this feature off by navigating to the Multiplayer page in the settings and finding the locator bar option. You can toggle it on and off from this page whenever you desire, although it's easiest to access when you're starting a new world. Now that you know how to find your friends with ease, you can set out together to explore and try many other features in Minecraft. Next, you might ride Happy Ghasts, defeat the Creaking, and build some epic houses. The post How to use the player locator bar in Minecraft appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
  12. The road to achieving the best ending in Secret of the Mimic is a tiresome one, full of obstacles with the random yet persistent chase of the Mimic that could ruin your day any minute. Hunting down Sun's presents takes patience and a good memory. Trust me, I learnt the hard way. What's guaranteed, however, is that you'll never forget the layout of Murray's Costume Manor ever again. You'll start to feel like you actually work there. Tucked away inside Moon.exe and needed for the secret ending, there are 25 Secret of the Mimic collectibles to find and place inside the Inventory Tube System. Play through the story and open shortcuts whenever you can to make finding the last few presents far easier. Trust me, it saves time in the long run. Our guide is divided into Data Diver Permissions and written chronologically, based on where I picked them up in my first and New Game+ playthroughs. Monty's Water Game Screenshot by Destructoid In the Welcome Show, behind the cowboy pig with a lasso and underneath Mr. Helpful. You can get this when you're heading to the Big Top Showroom. White Tiger Doll Screenshot by Destructoid You must complete the game once and go to New Game+ (collectibles will pass over), where the White Tiger Doll then spawns inside the Security Office at the start of the game. Arrange the four carnival set props to reach the far-left side of the Loading Bay for the collectible. Star Orphan Night Light Screenshot by Destructoid Screenshot by Destructoid Return to the Big Top Showroom and restore power via the Overflow machine. Go to the clown carnival game and start it. Break the left side of the clown's teeth and pass the game stand to pause the game. Press the red button behind the clown's face to enter a secret backstage area. This section is a tad annoying as the Mimic spawns in. Purposely get its attention and hide in the lockers, aiming to reach the generator, and then return to the lift at the entrance. Use Repair Permissions to enter the off-limits Showroom. Pull the lever, go behind the moon and clouds set pieces. Open the Staff Door on the terminal upstairs. Go back down, avoid the Mimic, press the red button on the boarded-up wall, and go through two Repair doors. Enter the vent to reach the collectible. Creator Ranger Army Knife Screenshot by Destructoid In the small room directly after entering the South Hall (opposite the Theater entrance). Fredbear Singing Record Screenshot by Destructoid Enter the Theater to the left of the South Hall. Restore power in this hallway via the Overflow puzzle. Then go into the crawlspace (vent) on the right-hand side of this room (the Mimic will spawn on this side of the Theater). Use the Security Permission to enter the room in the projector section of the Theater for the present. Lil' Sewing Kit Screenshot by Destructoid Enter code 26294 into the South Hall keypad and use Creator Permission in the Cafeteria to reach the shuttered area with the present, next to the elevator (that takes you back to Jackie in a Box). Fredbear Pizza Maker Screenshot by Destructoid Go back into the Big Top Showroom and head upstairs. Enter the Creator room to the right of the opened present (Trophy) to get the final collectible in this Showroom. Pirate Foxy Puppet Screenshot by Destructoid Screenshot by Destructoid Look for this after picking up the Star Orphan Night Light as it's in the same area. Go forward from the Office Repair door from the tent where you found the Night Light, and ignore the Mimic patrolling the left-hand side of the secret Showroom (where you originally entered from). Open the Creator door to find the Inventory Tube System to dispose of the Star, and pick up the Pirate Foxy Puppet to conclude this secret area. Swing Bee Honey Bottle Screenshot by Destructoid Use 4782 at the Birthday Showroom door and go into the small area through the hole Jackie in a Box left behind. The Mimic spawns here, so lure it with the cut-out over to your right and hide in the locker nearest to the hallway so you can run away. Then use code 0434 on the locked door in this to reach the present. Admin David Blocks Screenshot by Destructoid Screenshot by Destructoid Go into the green bus when you're in the Warehouse looking for the Overflow pieces. This will take you to the upper level of the Warehouse. Climb to the top and start the carnival game. Complete one side and throw the ball to break half of the teeth on the second clown face. Then, go past the game stand to stop the game and crouch-walk into the vent behind the clown to find the present on the metal walkway. **** Fish Net Screenshot by Destructoid When you're on the way to the Admin Wing after seeing the White Tiger hallucination, go in the opposite direction of where the game wants you to go. Find and enter Welcome Show to find a hanging corpse and the collectible on the upper level. Birthday Cake Screenshot by Destructoid In the Admin Wing, go left to where the Mimic spawns. Use the lockers to hide from Chica. Input code 01350 to get into the Conference Room for the collectible and an achievement. Toy Hammer Screenshot by Destructoid Get to the Theater projector room via the South Hall (with the Overflow puzzle). Go down the stairs from the Fredbear Singing Record spawn (needs Security Permission) and enter the Workshop. Go immediately into the Backstage area after entering the Workshop using Admin clearance. This takes you to the Pirate Foxy stage. Crouch under the beam to find the present. Fall Fest Ticket Book Screenshot by Destructoid I managed to get this by breaking the game with the levers in the Backstage area, after assembling the springlock suit in the Theater. However, the proper way to get this is to go to the unscripted side of the Theater via South Hall. Enter the vents to reach the projector room, and climb the stairs to return to the bridge magnet puzzle. Move all platforms with the magnet to get to the present, then pull the lever to reach the ground and take the other lift back up to reach the collectible. Rainy Day Boot Screenshot by Destructoid Screenshot by Destructoid This is the hardest collectible to get. Save yourself a lot of time and be sure to unlock the shortcut as soon as you exit the Loading Bay and are on the way to the Admin Wing. Instead of going there, turn left from the Loading Bay in this Backstage area and unlock the Showrooms. This gives you an easy way to get back here later on. You must visit the Big Top Showroom first to take one of the carnival toy guns. With the shortcut unlocked and toy in hand, head to the Admin Wing like normal, taking the lift down into an open area, and go through the shutters next to the Inventory Tube System. You can unlock a Warehouse shortcut here (press the big red button) to get back to the Security Office. Find the target shooting carnival game and beat it. You will be rewarded with the Rainy Day Boot. Executive David's Toy Ball Screenshot by Destructoid Enter the Retail Showroom next to the Security Office. Use code 80625 on the wall near the carousel to open the elevator. The Mimic spawns in this Showroom, so be careful. Descend into a secret part of the Basement where a unique animatronic roams. Collect the Overflow pieces and restore power, then look inside the bizarre giant head at the center of the room for David's Toy Ball. Vacuum **** Screenshot by Destructoid In the locked room on the upper floor of Edwin Murray's home (must start Parachute.exe programme). Go into the vent opposite the locked door with a red keypad on it. You will enter the room with the collectible by walking through this vent. The new Intel Core 5 120F has recently appeared in a leaked marketing slide, and it looks as though the new budget gaming CPU will also happily work in existing LGA1700 motherboards, as long as they support DDR5 memory. If this leak is genuine, the new Core 5 120F looks very similar to the existing Intel Core i5 12400F, which is currently our tip as the best gaming CPU if you're on a very tight budget - I used one for several years, and it's surprisingly capable in games. 22. Nintendo Switch 2 users have reported having the vibration effect of their controllers turned off, should the console detect you making "prolonged use" of their rumble feature. Reports of warnings for excessive rumble use have filtered in since the Switch 2's launch earlier this month, as users see a message from Nintendo pop up on screen — "Rumble has been turned off due to prolonged use" — before the ability to make the Joy-**** vibrate further is temporarily disabled. "I was getting this message originally after about an hour and a half of handheld playtime," one user wrote on reddit. "Now it shows within the first 20 min. Anyone else having this issue?" Switch 2 owners say they've experienced issues with Joy-**** rumble while enjoying a number of games, including vibration-heavy moments in Cyberpunk 2077 (firing the minigun is reported to be particularly energetic), and during cutscenes within The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker on Nintendo GameCube. But a reddit thread of users tracking the issue lists other titles, too. "Got it during the final boss of Sonic Generations," wrote one disappointed fan. "Been getting it a few times playing Fast Fusion," noted another. Nintendo is yet to address the warning, though fans believe it is a feature designed primarily to limit the Joy-****'s battery consumption. After all, vibration requires extra power, and while disabling the feature entirely is somewhat heavy-handed, the move will ensure your Joy-**** don't too quickly run out of juice. Rumble turning itself off byu/Wonderful_Guava1533 inNintendoSwitch2 .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } "This keeps popping up for me, too, even when I've only played for a few minutes," wrote one concerned fan in another reddit thread on the issue. "Worried I have a defective Joy-****." For now, fans impacted by repeated warnings say that fully disabling controller rumble in the Switch's settings menu is their only option to avoid the pop-up continually recurring. Others say that the warning was, for them, only temporary — with the ability to recover their buzz in a matter of minutes. IGN has contacted Nintendo for more. Tom Phillips is IGN's News Editor. 23. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 developer Sandfall Interactive is "currently exploring a wide range of future improvements." In a social media post shared on the game's channels, the team said these improvements — "from accessibility features to new content and all sorts of bits and bobs we're actively assessing" — will also include expanded localization options (thanks, Eurogamer). "While we don't have specific timelines or confirmed languages to share just yet," the team added, "we wanted to let you know that it's very much on our radar. Wheee!" Suggestions from fans on what these improvements could be include a request for photo mode, loadouts, quicksave, and, ahem, "more swimsuit options for Gustave." In IGN's 9/10 review of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, we described it as a "modern RPG classic," adding: "In so many ways, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 reminded me of numerous classic and contemporary RPGs I love, but developer Sandfall truly understood why those games are special and made the pieces it borrowed its own." If that's convinced you to give it a go, be sure to check out our tips for the important things to know before going into Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. 24. Newly released REMATCH doesn't have very high graphic requirements for a modern game, but you can still encounter occasional stutters and crashes on your PC. It's largely caused by optimization issues that can be due to problems at your end or the end of your in-game client (or maybe a mix of both). Thankfully, I have tested and tried out different visual combinations to ensure minimal incidents of stutters or low FPS. How to prevent crashes and stutters in REMATCH For starters, you'll want to ensure you're not experiencing any lag (due to the internet). Games in REMATCH rely heavily on your internet connection. If something is up with your internet, you'll experience lag, so make sure not to put anything on download in the background. That said, here are a few extra tips to reduce unexpected lags. Update your drivers: I haven't found any exclusive driver update released after the game's launch by either AMD or Nvidia. Ensure your driver is updated to the latest version available for your applicable graphics card.Cap the FPS: It's better to set an upper limit on the maximum FPS, even if your hardware can handle any number. I have added my recommended graphic settings, which I have been running on my setup (Ryzen 5600G and RTX 3060). In the five hours I have played (at the time of writing), things have looked pretty smooth, barring a couple of opening games.
