The Shifting Sands DLC has added a fair amount of new mounts you can get in Soulmask, and they come in different shapes and sizes. The core process for getting the mounts is the same, but they all work differently. Let's find out how you can obtain these new mounts to traverse the sandy lands in Soulmask. Table of contentsHow to get the new mounts in Soulmask Shifting HandsDonkeysCamelsRhinoHow to get the new mounts in Soulmask Shifting Hands When I am talking of new mounts, there appear to be three available options. DonkeysCamelsRhinos There are big cats that you can find in the wild as well. However, I am extremely unsure if they can be tamed at all. Similarly, the update also has new pets for you to collect. However, this guide solely deals with the mounts that are available in Soulmask Shifting Hands. Donkeys Image via Qooland Games Donkeys are the easiest of all three new mounts to get. You can find them almost anywhere on the map. For better chances, you should look in the areas around the water resource in any oasis. Once you find a baby donkey, pick it up (be mindful of adult donkeys), and then raise it with food and water. Once the donkey is fully grown, you can use its inventory to carry extra items on your journey. Camels Image via Qooland Games If you want something that moves faster and carries more items than a donkey, you can get a camel as a mount. We already have a detailed guide on how to find and use one as a mount. In short, you can find them in different parts of the desert. You'll need a medium trap to capture a young one. Once done, feed the camel water and figs to help it grow. Then, mount a saddle, and you'll be able to use it as a mount on your travels. Rhino Image via Qooland Games If you want a tank (not a literal one), the rhino is perfect for you. While they don't have an exact location, you can find them around the water bodies in oasis areas. You'll need to trap a young one, or you can find them randomly from barbarian camps. Feed the required items and water for the young one to help it grow, and you'll be able to mount a saddle then to use it on your adventures. The rhino has the highest damage and base health among all available mounts, and you can whip it to make it run faster. The Shifting Sands DLC also has four new masks to find, and you can get them all quite easily if you know where to look. Nowadays, cheating in games is associated with an unfair advantage in competitive multiplayer, but there was once a golden age when cheating was all about harmlessly skipping the single-player grind or, better yet, giving yourself all sorts of hilarious perks. It's time we reminisce about that beautiful bygone era. Angry pedestrians always result in anarchy in GTA Image via Rockstar The GTA series is home to some of the best, most original, and most hilarious video game cheats of all time. You could come up with a huge list of the best cheat codes, and somebody totally did. Still, if we're about to find the funniest one of the bunch, I gotta go with angry pedestrians, a cheat code that starts an unprecedented civil war where every single person represents their own faction, and they all hate everyone else. One single cheat makes any GTA title double as an apocalypse scenario survival game, and there's no better way of blowing off some steam after failing to follow some damn train. The angry pedestrians' cheat is hilarious for all the unpredictable and hilarious chaos it spawns, and it also shows the inevitable endpoint of society in any of the cities in the Grand Theft Auto series, meaning it also carries big sociological and demographic lessons, if you happen to be in Liberty City for that. One of the reasons people are so hyped about GTA 6 is that fans associate it with a time when games were just more fun overall than they are now, and these types of cheat codes had a big role in making it so. Here's hoping the good people of Rockstar haven't forgotten about that lesson. Naughty players accidentally make Lara Croft explodehttps://youtu.be/-sajBY4HgJ4 As soon as Lara Croft showed up in the original Tomb Raider back in 1996, fans began to wonder if it was possible to get her in-game model to undress. You're just gonna have to imagine how vocal they were about it for their words to get into the developers' heads back before widespread internet or social media, but that totally happened. So, for Tomb Raider 2, they included a mysterious code, one that would supposedly get Lara to finally undress, but would actually have her in-game model explode into many tiny pieces, instead. Interestingly, the input for this cheat code is very similar to that of an actual useful cheat code in the game, meaning so many players got the fright of their lives, whether they deserved it or not, and that makes it even funnier for me. The more recent Lara outfit controversy had nothing to do with "Nude Raider", but I like to see it as divine punishment from all of the fans' past misdeeds on the subject. Age of Empires reveals history's secret weaponshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu-Pyxeivi4 When you read the name Age of Empires, I bet you'll picture a realistic game about strategizing your way to victory in ancient times, and that's, well, more or less true, or at least until you input the game's legendary cheat codes. Back in the good old days, typing the right words would grant players the ability to spawn Shelby Cobra cars with miniguns, babies with guns, or even super-powered monkeys who would destroy most enemies with one hit. The best part? For the HD remaster, the developers introduced the Sharkatzor, a laser-firing flying shark piloted by a cat. And, like, history is complicated. Many records have been lost, so who's to say stylish motorized vehicles and genetically enhanced apes, babies, cats, and sharks weren't the reality of prehistoric warfare? Turok's Disco modehttps://youtu.be/zPFh_-eM144 I used to see Turok as a very serious shooter for the longest time, until I found out it had a "Disco mode" that players could unlock via cheat codes. The effect of this cheat is as simple as it is hilarious. It spawns disco lights near the enemies, who'll quit everything they're doing just so they can dance it out. The lights don't affect the player in any way, meaning you're free to enjoy the show. Sonic 3D Blast's special menu Image via ***** Sonic 3D Blast doesn't really feature any out-of-this-world type of unlockable, but it does have the funniest "code input" I've ever seen in a game. To unlock the game's special menu that grants access to various secret levels, players just need to hit the Genesis cartridge while the game is running. No, I'm not trying to get players to destroy the cartridges of what's arguably one of the most disappointing games of all time; this really is how you do it. I remember coming across this secret menu when I bumped into the cartridge when I was just a kid, and spent a long time believing that must've been the most random thing ever, but it turns out it was actually by design. It turns out that to get the game approved for release at a time long before patches, the game had to pass a bunch of pretty demanding tests. Instead of fixing any of the game's issues, the developers just programmed any event that could cause the game to ******, like a kid falling headfirst into their console, to automatically trigger the "special" debug mode, a feature, not a glitch, and thus Sonic 3D Blast became ready to ship. Blood cheat in Mortal Kombat Screenshot by Destructoid Mortal Kombat is known for its gruesomely detailed violence, but that, somehow, wasn't always the case. When making its way to the more family-friendly Genesis and SNES home consoles, the devs thought it best to release a completely blood-free version of the game. Syke. For the Genesis port of the game, all it took was one secret input for the game to become just as gory as its arcade counterpart. The SNES version had no such toggle, which may or may not have been the reason why it got outsold three to one. And sure, violence in games is fun when these games are meant to be violent in the first place, but, as it turns out, it might prove even better in more innocent games. Dismemberment in Star Wars Jedi Knight 2https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6FSvFrRxOE Ever wondered what Star Wars would look like if the movies and games weren't made for kids? Well, you needn't look any further, as, because of an actual feature in the game, not a deranged fan mod. The dismemberment feature was originally going to be a part of the game, which is what you get when you hire Raven Software fresh off the Soldier of Fortune series to make your game, but the dismemberment feature didn't make it to release. Luckily, it too wasn't cut out at all, and anyone can enjoy the game as it should be, so long as they know the secret password (it's: g_saberrealisticcombat). Back in 2021, Nintendo got Post Malone to perform a virtual concert featuring a special song to celebrate Pokémon's 25th birthday. Five years and 19 million views later, we'll be getting Pokémon Night Out, an event comprised of two EDM live shows featuring Marshmello, Alison Wonderland, and numerous Poké surprises. [Hidden Content] The event will take place first at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, on Oct 24, then at The O2 Arena in London on November 10. Marshmello and Alison Wonderland are two big EDM names that I must admit I don't know much about. Still, I remember not caring much about Post Malone before the pandemic, either, which totally changed after his fantastic Nirvana tribute concert during the lockdown, so these two might be about to add a lot of fans to their already massive followings as well. Pokémon Night Out will be a live show, so there's no way of telling what it'll look like or how many covers of famous Pokémon tunes will be played. Still, anyone wondering what the vibe of the upcoming shows might look like can check below to watch the video for the massively successful cover of "Only Wanna Be With You", originally by Hootie & the Blowfish, that Post Malone recorded for the show: [Hidden Content] And Pokémon hasn't forgotten about the fans who are still too young to attend a music event at night. More information on that event will be shared later. The SteamVR version of survival adventure Green Hell has lacked features the PlayStation VR2 and Quest versions enjoy like co-op. Incuvo promises to change that in 2026 by porting the PS VR2 version of the game to PC for free. Developer Incuvo released its 2026 roadmap for Green Hell VR in a post on its social channels. Among the listed updates is a long-awaited update to the SteamVR version of the game. Here is the image: In the post, Incuvo wrote the following: We know the PCVR version has been missing out on updates and co-op, and we hear you. As a small team, we pour everything we have into making Green Hell VR the best it can be. The Meta Quest and PSVR2 versions share a similar codebase, but the PCVR build was a completely different story under the hood. Maintaining it alongside the others meant we simply couldn't give any version the attention it deserved. This summer, it’s about to change! We’ve decided to add a port of the PSVR2 version to Steam, bringing co-op and all the content updates to PC VR players to unify the experience. If you already own Green Hell VR on PCVR, you'll automatically get the new version. The Quest port of Green Hell was a scaled-back, streamlined experience, a necessary move to get the game to run on standalone hardware at the time. Despite the PC VR edition being more of a 1:1 translation of the original, more open-world game, the Quest (and later PlayStation VR2) edition saw more regular updates, including a co-op feature in December 2024. This update will bring the PC VR version in line with the other two, which seems to indicate all versions of the game will be the streamlined edition originally brought to Meta Quest. The PlayStation VR2 port was a visually upscaled version of the limited Quest game instead of the more open PC original. The roadmap also includes character customization, new structures for base building, a new storage place, and the ability to paint your base. Green Hell VR is available on Quest, Steam, and PS VR2. You ever had one of those days when Blackbeard boards your ship, shoots you and leaves you for dead, and you wash up penniless and alone on some uninhabited island having only survived due to mysterious, dark magic? Who hasn't, right? Windrose, a piratical survival crafter that just launched into Early Access, uses that universal experience as a starting point for some in-depth exploration and swashbuckling during a mythical reimagining of the Golden Age of Piracy. And around 30 hours in, I'm having a rousing little time with it. Windrose takes after Valheim in a handful of ways, including the fact that you don't actually need to eat or sleep in order to survive. Rather, food provides stat buffs without which you can easily get one-shot by any wandering wild pig. So it's important, but you're not going to starve to death because you went AFK for a little while. Scrounging up bananas and coconuts, I got to work on my first shelter, and the building system is pretty flexible – though everything looks very Robinson Crusoe-chic early on. Chopping down trees and gathering plant fiber is a familiar affair. Once I worked my way up to mining, though, things slowed down a little. Ores like copper and iron can generally only be found in instanced caves, and a lot of those are mostly empty. No enemies, no treasure – just rocks to hit. That can get a little bit monotonous. But overall, Windrose has been fairly respectful of my time in terms of the amount of resources it expects me to collect to progress. So some tasks may be tedious, but I'm not forced to spend ages doing them. Where things get fun and interesting are at the combat-focused points of interest around the map, which so far have been fairly straightforward: up to four chests full of valuable and rare items guarded by wildlife, enemy pirates, or sometimes the creepy undead. Yeah, Blackbeard is up to some kind of necromancy, by the way. I'm not sure exactly how yet. But we'll get to the bottom of it. Ground combat may be my favorite part of Windrose so far. The devs describe the combat as "soulslite," which is a label I'm a bit hesitant to use as a big soulsborne fan myself, but it is quite responsive and kinetic. Parrying opponents at just the right time removes shield icons from their health bar, which can eventually stun them and let you really go to town. Pistols are quite powerful, but take a long time to reload. And weapons like sabers, rapiers, and chunky two-handers feel very different to fight with, including their unique special moves. Ground combat may be my favorite part of Windrose so far. In comparison, the ship battles are currently unremarkable. I've only acquired the first vessel, the scrappy ketch, but it all feels a little bit arcadey for my tastes. I love the wave modeling, and the way big swells can make even the largest vessels look small. But there's currently no mechanic for wind direction. Steering can be kind of awkward since the UI doesn't tell you how far you've turned the rudder. And while firing cannons is heavily skill-based with detailed trajectory modeling, it's just not as satisfying as fighting with a sword and a boomstick yet. Of course, damaged ships can be boarded for extra loot, combining the best of both systems. The map is absolutely gigantic, too, which is great. Even since getting my first proper ship and exploring for another 20 hours, I don't think I've even seen fully 5% of it. I haven't even been to the main hub or Tortuga. Islands are divided into biomes of increasing difficulty – again, much like Valheim – and I've made it to the boss of the first area. But he is an absolute monster with the gear I have right now, so I decided to explore to earn better gear and more stat points before taking him on again. There is a limited system of point-to-point fast travel, which I'm a little bit conflicted about, as I would rather just sail from place to place. I think fast travel can be a bit self-defeating in these kinds of games since it makes the world feel smaller. There are already some server settings that allow for a more immersive experience, like turning off map markers for points of interest. And of course, I can simply not click the fast travel button, but that's something I'd maybe like to be able to turn off entirely in the future. The biomes look really slick, too. They've gone for a kind of stylized realism that hits a sweet spot between ultra fidelity and more of a sylized feel that is overall really effective. As someone who has lived by the ocean, I have small gripes here and there. Waves near the shore seem to spawn a fixed distance from the shoreline and arrive on the sand all at the same time no matter where you're standing which is… not how waves work. But it's Early Access still. So far, Windrose has made a strong first impression. Especially with its skill-focused pistol-and-blade ground combat and dastardly difficult bosses, I'm hooked by its exploration and progression. I'll be updating this review as I discover new things, with a final verdict to come once I've seen all this Early Access release has to offer. View the full article

In an internal memo sent to gaming employees, first published by The Verge, Sharma said that the service needs “a better value equation”, six months after Microsoft hiked the price of its top Game Pass tier by 50% to $30 / £23 per month. “Game Pass is central to gaming value on Xbox. Publishing platform [Hidden Content] on Monday launched Indie Pass, a subscription service that’s exclusively for indie games. There are more than 70 titles included in the launch catalog in a wide range of genres and from developers all over the world. The service is intended to help with the discoverability of indie games, which can get lost in the sea of releases that are constantly hitting big digital storefronts. And it’s designed to supply an additional, more consistent revenue stream to smaller developers without locking them behind any kind of platform exclusivity. Among the launch titles in the service are some games published by indie.io, like Forgotten Seas and SCP: Fragmented Minds, as well as non-indie.io games like Kaya’s Prophecy. You can see the entire catalogue on the Indie Pass website, where you can sort by genre, with selections for Cozy, RPG, Strategy, Horror, Action, Simulation, and Roguelite. The service is available worldwide and costs $6.99 / €5.99 / £4.99 per month or $55.92 / €47.99 / £39.99 for a yearly subscription. You get unlimited access to all the games available on Indie Pass while your subscription is active, and new games will be added to it regularly, though specifics about how often they’ll be added haven’t been shared. Subscriptions can also be purchased through third-party marketplaces like Inven, with others to be announced in the future. The process of playing the games available on Indie Pass is pretty straightforward. All you have to do is sign up and download the dedicated launcher, where all games that are part of the service will be available. You can, of course, search for games by title, but there are also lots of filter options to help find games that fit what you’re looking for even if you don’t know about them yet. That includes filters for genres, game features, how long it takes to beat, and supported languages. For more information, you can visit the Indie Pass website, and for the latest news and updates, you can follow it on Instagram and X/Twitter. If you’re an indie developer or publisher who would like to get your game on the service, you can submit your game for consideration on this page. View the full article

As the numberless Overwatch enters its second season, the game will finally launch fully on the Switch 2, carrying tons of improvements for Nintendo gamers over its Switch 1 version. The latest version of the king of gaming on the go will finally get to experience Overwatch's rebranded, fresh looks with better visuals launching together with Season 2: Summit. While Overwatch has been available on the original Switch for some time now, it's finally going to be upgraded to make use of all the advancements of the Switch 2, which will allow the game to run more smoothly while maintaining better visuals and a "crisper" experience that won't have to sacrifice as much as before. The second season of Reign of the Talon is expanding the game beyond just content. Image via Blizzard The most notable improvement is undoubtedly the FPS boost, as both docked and handheld modes will now be able to maintain 60 fps in the game, allowing Nintendo players to have a competitive edge when facing gamers on stronger platforms, chiefly those on PC who are no strangers to 300+ fps in the game. "It’s a cleaner, crisper, portable version of Overwatch that still lets you play with your friends wherever you are," Blizzard said, adding that this new version is "a much stronger way to experience the game on your Nintendo Switch 2." Competitive games are always a bit tricky to port to more casual platforms like the Switch, as players over there generally receive subpar performance compared to others, and I hope this high-fps upgrade will help Nintendo players keep up with the rest of the crowd. Of course, crossplay can also be turned off on consoles (PC players are forced to fight everyone at all times), but I hope the move to a stronger device will ensure that that won't be necessary. Either way, Overwatch is launching the second season of Reign of the Talon, bringing along a ton of new and exciting stuff, chiefly a new hero, Sierra, who I believe will undoubtedly cause a major disturbance in the meta with her fast and lethal abilities. The Lenovo Legion Glasses 2 was released back in February 2025 at a starting price of $399.99. Today you can get it for way less: Amazon is currently offering a pair for just $249.99 with free shipping. If it sells out there, you can also get it for the same price right now at Lenovo direct. These glasses make for an easily transportable "room-filling" display for your portable gaming handheld or console, perfect for gaming on the road or away from your TV. Nearly 40% Off the Lenovo Legion Glasses 2 The Lenovo Legion Glasses 2 is a lightweight pair of "glasses" that consists of two 1080p 120Hz Micro-OLED displays which together produce a 126" 4K virtual screen about 4 meters away. Similar to a portable USB monitor, you use a single USB-C to transmit video and power to the glasses as long as the device you're using has a USB-C port that supports Power Delivery. That includes the Steam Deck, Legion Go, and and Asus ROG Ally handheld gaming PCs as well as most current generation laptops. Note that because power draw is increased, you'll likely have to plug your laptop or handheld PC into a charger to handle the additional battery drain. The Legion Glasses 2 are very light, weighing in at 65 grams, or just 2 ounces. It's certainly lighter than any VR headset or portable USB monitor, for example. A protective carrying case is included so transporting it safely is a cinch. The built-in speakers also provide serviceable audio, so you don't need to bring additonal headphones if you plan to travel light. You can even make hands-free phone calls with the internal mic if you pair the glasses to your smartphone. Following widespread fan complaints over copied character designs, the developer of upcoming Steam Pokémon-like Pickmon has said it is now changing the game's name — by one letter — to Pickmos. Pickmon, or rather Pickmos, was unveiled last month to widespread criticism from Pokémon fans, who pointed out the many similarities in its roster of monsters to the likes of Pikachu, Charizard and Lucario. The game's trailer even features a hero who could be mistaken for The Legend of Zelda's Link, who glides off of a mountain top in what could be scene from Breath of the Wild. Response to the trailer was universally negative, with many fans actively calling for Nintendo to lawyer up and sue Pickmos' developer PocketGame (not to be confused with PocketPair, the developer of Palworld, which Nintendo actually is suing). "Dear Players, since the beginning of development, we have been dedicated to building a unique and profound ecological world," PocketGame wrote in a statement posted to social media today. "To better align with our brand identity and lore, our title is officially changing: Pickmon → Pickmos. "What does '-mos' represent? A complete Ecosystem. A grand Cosmos. This name carries a more powerful presence, acting as a better vessel for the fantasy adventure we are building for you. But we cute creatures, are still collectively known as Pickmon! See you in the world of Pickmos!" Other than the title change, nothing else about the game appears to have changed since last month. Indeed, the message was shared alongside another look at the game's concept art, with designs similar to Pokémon still present. Game Renaming Announcement:The Evolution of Pickmos Dear Players, Since the beginning of development, we have been dedicated to building a unique and profound ecological world. To better align with our brand identity and lore, our title is officially changing:… [Hidden Content] — Pickmos / Pickmon / ピックモス (@PickMon_EN) April 10, 2026 Of particular note in that concept art is a creature similar to Mega Meganium, an unofficial monster drawn by a fan in a design which many have said Pickmon has since copied without credit. The official Pickmon social media account has even begun responding to comments about this situation with a boilerplate statement, essentially saying that it believes it is legally fine to do so: "Could you please ask Mr. Fakemon to provide proof of the trademark rights for the designs in question?" the Pickmon account wrote, in message posted to various critical comments. "Our designs are handled by a professional team that manages all trademark filings. Our team has searched the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) database and found no record of Mr. Fakemon's company holding trademarks for the creatures shown in your images. If there are any legitimate concerns, our legal counsel will coordinate with our Art Director to make the necessary adjustments." Response to today's name change does not seem to have improved fan perception of the game. "Delete the game and never exist again," reads one response on X/Twitter with hundreds of likes. "You stolen many artist's design." "You think we're stupid?" reads another reply. "Everyone knows that you're making nothing more than blatant plagiarized slop with no creativity or identity to stand out. I thought Palworld was bad, you made me change my mind after not only plagiarizing Pokémon, but also fakemon, Zelda, Overwatch, etc." "We have shared the community's feedback with our Art Director for further review," the official account responded.
