Rockstar Games hackers ShinyHunters released the stolen data early, revealing revenue for GTA Online and Red Dead Online. But, crucially, no GTA 6 information appears to have leaked online. The stolen data was viewed by GTA Forums user Lexiture and reported on by Kotaku. It shows GTA Online allegedly generates much more money than Red Dead Online, which doesn't come as a big surprise given the difference in support Rockstar gives each live service. It also shows that PS5 is the platform with the most GTA Online players and revenue, with PC lagging behind even the last generation of consoles on both counts. With the Rockstar leaks circulating, I put this together to illustrate the weekly spending in GTA Online on a platform basis. The data speaks for itself. Per data from GTA Forums, PS5 generates more than half weekly GTA Online bookings, with $4.486M earned per week. Bethesda says it is "aware" of the crashing issues some people are reporting when playing Starfield on PS5 and will address them in a hotfix later this week. Within days of Microsoft launching Starfield on rival console PS5, players began reporting progression-breaking problems on both the base and PS5 Pro models, including freezes, crashes, and save issues. Despite trying a myriad of workarounds, including disabling auto-save, some players have even deemed the highly anticipated port "unplayable" and demanded refunds from Sony. Now, acknowledging the issues on social media, Bethesda Game Studios has responded to unhappy players, writing: "Thanks for sharing your adventures across the Settled Systems this weekend — we’ve loved reading them! "We’re aware of some reported PS5 crashing issues and have narrowed them down to a small number of causes. We’re addressing these in a hotfix we’re aiming to release this week. Thanks for flagging, and we’ll keep you posted." No date was provided for when the fix will go live, nor did the post identify what could be causing the issues, but it'll be good news nonetheless for frustrated fans who struggled to explore the stars over launch weekend. Sony has announced plans to produce an R-rated animated movie based on FromSoftware’s cult-classic PS4 game, Bloodborne. Windrose is out on PC in early access, and the first order of business for you should be to fix the graphics. While the game generally runs well, I have already encountered some notable issues. Most of the problem seems to happen while transitioning between gameplay and loading screens. Thankfully, I managed to erase almost all those problems by making some changes to the graphics settings. Best Windrose video settings Before I deep dive into the settings, here's a summary of my current setup. NVIDIA RTX 3060 12 GB16 GB of DDR5 RAMAMD Ryzen 5600G While my setup is well above the requirements, I did endure some notable lags and stutters while testing the pre-launch versions. Here's a set of settings I am currently running. Window mode: Borderless Window/FullscreenUpscaler: Your preferenceUpscaler type: Performance (via DLSS)Frame Generation: OffVSync: OffFrame Rate Limit: 60Camera FOV: DefaultGlobal Illumination: MediumShadows: LowAnti-Aliasing: MediumView Distance: HighTextures: medmediumEffects: mediumReflections: LowPost-Processing: MediumGrass Draw Distance: LowShader Quality: LowMoton Blur: OffBlood Wounds Effect: OnCharacter Dirt Effect: OffLens Dirt Effect: Off Screenshot by Destructoid Here's some explanation behind the settings I am using. While you can opt for Balanced, I went with Performance for DLSS. While it does sacrifice the graphical quality of the game to some extent, you get better results.I capped the FPS to 60 to prevent the stutters. This can be increased if you have a better setup than mine, or once we get a few post-launch patches.Keeping VSync turned on also seemed to result in longer loading screens, which I prevented by turning it off. That said, the general performance of Windrose in the early access appears to be pretty stable, and it should smooth out a few post-launch patches. If you're still unsure about the performance, you can always try out the demo before getting a copy. The post Best Windrose graphics for no lag and max FPS appeared first on Destructoid. Grand Theft Auto 5 actor Jay Klaitz has shared that he "wouldn’t be surprised" if the satire in Grand Theft Auto 6 doesn’t hit as hard because of "what we see happening in the real world." The performer behind heist mastermind Lester Crest gave his thoughts on the next Rockstar Games title in an interview with Eldorado. When asked about how GTA can approach humor given the state of the world, Klaitz said he could see its impact not hitting quite the same as many may expect. "Don’t get me wrong. It’s still f**king GTA," he clarified. "It’s going to be massive. People will lose their *****. It’s going to be huge, obviously. But it’s a different world to the one 13 years ago when the last one came out. I mean, it's a very different world than it was even a year ago." The tone Rockstar crafted through each GTA game helped transform it into the juggernaut it is today. In IGN’s own 10/10 review of GTA 5, we called attention to how it "drips satire" by ripping into "the Millennial generation, celebrities, the far right, the far left, the middle class, the media," and everything in between. That, however, was in 2013, and as long as everything goes according to plan, GTA 6 is set to launch November 16, 2026. Klaitz refrained from speaking too directly about what has changed in the more than a decade since the launch of the last mainline game, and admitted that there is still plenty to dig into. "What seemed so far-fetched and insane just a short while ago now feels like just another day, so maybe GTA 6 can't make that same splash as previous games. That said, I don’t know. Maybe that’s bulls**t. I know there will be plenty of commentary and satire woven into it. There’s a lot of the Florida Man stuff and lots of territory like that still to cover. "The political spotlight often veers over toward Florida, and maybe for that reason, it'll still sink its hooks into people, but what we see happening in the real world is definitely going to make it harder for a GTA game to work those angles." While some hope to see Rockstar stick the landing with GTA 6, others are a bit more concerned with a third-party data breach that took place last week. Despite ransom demands, the company has assured players that the “incident has no impact on our organization or our players.” Michael Cripe is a freelance writer with IGN. Over the weekend, hackers breached GTA 6 developer Rockstar Games and threatened to share confidential company information should their demands remain unmet by April 14. Rockstar responded, dismissing the hack’s impact, and now, those same hackers are making good on their promise. ShinyHunters, the group responsible for the hacking, released the data on its website, which is located on the dark web, alongside a message that denied previous reports that the data was ever for *****. “Your Snowflake instances metrics data was compromised thanks to Anodot.com," the message reads. "We do not operate a Telegram channel and this data was never for ***** like reported on X (formerly Twitter) for $200k. It is now leaked. How does it feel to be the headline?” The leaked data allegedly includes financial information about the online modes for both GTA and Red Dead, as well as the spending data for various countries. According to a report from Kotaku, the data claims the GTA 6 developer makes over $1 million a day from GTA Online. The data does not, however, include any information regarding GTA 6’s source code or other assets from the upcoming game, initial reports suggest. ShinyHunters was able to pierce Rockstar’s defenses by exploiting a vulnerability in Anodot, an AI analytics tool used by various companies. The hacking group originally demanded the GTA 6 developer reach out to them by April 14 or have the data leaked. In response to the initial demands, Rockstar released the following statement on the same day as the original hacking: “We can confirm that a limited amount of non-material company information was accessed in connection with a third-party data breach,” the company wrote. “This incident has no impact on our organization or our players.” This is a developing story. Additional information will be added as we learn more. The post ShinyHunters leaks Rockstar financial data, but GTA 6 appears untouched appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article

If you were working a retail job at a movie rental store in the early '90s, there's a decent chance you couldn't wait to clock out for the day and escape from the daily grind with a mindless video game. Here in the 2020s, on the other hand, at least one mindless video game is striving to re-create the daily grind of working at a video rental store. Retro Rewind: Video Store Simulator is the latest in a burgeoning field of "work simulators" that has found indie success on Steam. And while the depth of the game's overall retail simulation is pretty shallow, there is a sort of soothing, zen comfort to be found in the repetitive nostalgia of that menial workaday world of the past. Working 9 to 5 Unlike simulations that rely heavily on menus or spreadsheets, Retro Rewind puts you in the first-person perspective of the manager of a small local VHS rental joint circa 1990. That means you have to run around doing everything from buying the tapes to laying out the furniture and decorations in the store. And while you can technically display those tapes out on any shelf you want, grouping them together by genre makes for both a better customer experience and helps to quiet those *****-retentive organizational voices in your head.
