  1. Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has officially revealed the next new Selection Pack coming to the game in late June, adding new support for three popular older archetypes. The massively popular digital card game from Konami has done plenty throughout the last year to bring some of its older strategies back into the limelight with powerful new cards. Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel's new support for the beloved "Blue-Eyes" archetype was a smash hit, turning Seto Kaiba's iconic anime strategy into a top-tier deck. Now, multiple different strategies are receiving a batch of new cards. View the full article
  2. One of the reasons Resident Evil 7 is so good is that it's all, every part of it, 100% horror - every component is designed to raise your tension and make you scared. Certainly, there are nods to a few different movies and folklore tales, but, especially in its contemporary context, when the shadow of RE6 loomed large and the whole series was in danger of becoming irredeemably cartoonish, the tale of the Baker family felt, and still feels, like a reputation-saving breakthrough. 3. Epic Games has significantly buffed controller aim assist settings in Fortnite, and this has led to mixed opinions among the community. Fortnite is available on PC, consoles, and mobile, which results in a varied pool of players in most matches, as most platforms don't give gamers the option to turn off crossplay. This has been controversial for various reasons. Firstly, each platform has its own specs, and this will greatly affect how the game runs, which may hinder players when they go up against enemies that can play it with max settings. Secondly, there can be a disparity when it comes to how players control their game, whether they use a keyboard and mouse, a controller, or touch controls. View the full article
  4. Valheim, developer Iron Gate's co-op survival game, was a breakout indie hit in 2021. It landed amid the global pandemic, in a strange moment in time where we were stuck indoors, some of us feeling slightly isolated and searching for ways to connect with the outside world, and a lot of us were playing videogames. It provided whimsy, goofiness, challenge, and togetherness that was so sought after at the time. Starting out in Viking purgatory, and in one of the easier biomes, The Meadows, Valheim managed to marry up the uneasiness and disconcertion of surviving your first day with all the excitement of the possibilities afforded by this dangerous world. It was also very pretty, and even now, years later, I always think of Valheim when I see a silver birch tree. Read the rest of the story... 5. lthough No More Room in Hell 2 launched into early access a little too early for its own good, I still think it was a better zombie game than it gets credit for. Not only did it capture the essence of zombie horror with its eerie, pitch-****** nights and undead hordes that seemed fairly unthreatening right up until they steamrollered you in their dozens. But it also had a clever concept where players started the game alone, having to find each other within the map before converging on the objective... Read more.View the full article

  7. Practically a modern classic, Vampire Survivors has inspired countless imitators. But the upcoming Skull Horde actually looks like a novel take on its roguelike inspiration. While in Vampire Survivors you gain new abilities to upgrade your avatar, in Skull Horde you'll build a massive army of fellow skeletons and lead them to victory through a dank dungeon. The game has an earnest and goofy tone, like a Tales from the Crypt episode that hits just right. You can give the game a try right now. Read the rest of the story... View the full article

  16. When you launch Rematch for the first time, a little pop-up will warn you that the game is "best experienced with a controller." He has also contributed art to Diablo IV, League of Legends and the Witcher 3, among many other games. "My first experience with Doom was playing the original in my neighbor’s kitchen on their ancient computer—it made a big impression on me, especially the music and definitely helped spark my love for games,” Repoza said. “Whenever I take on something like this, I try to tap into what made me a fan in the first place and boil that down into a single image. It’s a fun challenge, and I’m proud of how this one turned out. Hope you enjoy it! The IGN Artist Series is IGN’s love letter to the pop culture icons we all love to watch, play, and discuss. 22. The basic premise of Chrono Odyssey, a gigantic fantasy MMO with a seamless open world, is far from unique. However, the game's time travel theme and its science-fantasy premise, where an eldritch force straight out of Alien hits a medieval world, give a special flavor in a crowded space. Evidently, Steam players have found it memorable. Since the playtest opened, Chrono Odyssey has hit an in-game peak of 64,886 players (as of publication), which is impressive for a closed playtest from an unproven developer.
