  1. EA Sports College Football 26 is set to launch later this year, and it's bringing some big changes to its fan-favorite Dynasty Mode. The new changes are "focused on adding authenticity to every Dynasty run" and are largely based on community feedback that players have been eager for since the previous installment. Some details about Dynasty Mode have been released already, but today, fans got a massive info dump that dives very deep into all the important aspects of Dynasty Mode and what you can expect to see in College Football 26. 2. Upcoming life and farming game, Starsand Island, has clearly taken a lot of inspiration from the mega-popular Stardew Valley, so of course it has a romance system that allows you to snuggle up with your fellow islanders. Up until now, developer Seed Lab has remained coy about how exactly the system would work, but the newest trailer gives us our best look yet at how romance options - and friendships - are being handled in the cosy anime game. 3. This 'business-management' sim has come out of nowhere to become one of the biggest viral indie hits, up there with Balatro and Dredge. Now, we can help you find the best Schedule 1 settings for PC and Steam Deck. A big factor behind this is just how easy it is to get running on a gaming PC or handheld, but there are still a few tweaks you might want to make to maximize performance. You won't need the best graphics card to start playing Schedule 1, this much was confirmed in the Schedule 1 system requirements. Playing on a handheld, however, might be tricky until proper controller support is added. Read the rest of the story... 5. The continuous cycle of Call of Duty releases results in a continuous drip of new content coming to the monolithic first-person shooter, but its newly announced crossover skins are the strangest yet. With ****** Ops 7 on the horizon, the current content cycle for last year's ****** Ops 6 and the ongoing Warzone is winding down, which typically leads to more outlandish cosmetics. 7. How does one come up with, and subsequently make, Peak? Well, it sounds like you just kind of have to do it in weird ways. If you've missed it, Peak isn't just slang you've heard your teen use to denote something being really good, it's a co-op video game about climbing mountains with your friends and having a very good/ bad time while doing so. The bulk of work was also done in a single month as part of a collaborative game jam between Another Crab's Treasure developer Aggro Crab and Content Warning developer Landfall. And in an interview with PC Gamer, a couple of the devs that worked on Peak have shared a little insight into how it got made. Read more View the full article

  11. There's no way I'm learning this for the first time after ten or so years of people exploring every nook and cranny of this game. That's the thought that went through my head when I spotted a tweet from Witcher 3 quest designer Philipp Weber earlier this month, revealing that one of the Blood and Wine DLC's quests had a secret cut epilogue. I've played quite frankly far too much of the RPG over the years, and I'd never heard of it. Of course, I'm just one bloke, and hardly an endless encyclopedia containing every single bit of trivia about a decade old game. That's when I raked through the internet, and couldn't find any mentions of the cut epilogue. Surely Weber hadn't kept this under his hat for about a decade, not even mentioning it when folks found what he'd called a "last secret" by investigating the exact same quest. Er, yes, he had. 12. It is June 2025, and Oblivion Remastered has no official modding support from Bethesda. But who cares? Because I guess modders never needed any of that stuff anyway. It was just holding them back, man. In the two months since Bethesda and Virtuos' re-do of Oblivion came out, modders have managed to create a whole range of Oblivion Remastered mods even without an official creation kit, like making the Dark Brotherhood last forever and finding ways to make the whole thing play nice with lua scripts... 13. Valve is planning a new Team Fortress 2 Mann vs. Machine update, more than a decade after the co-op game mode came to the team-based shooter. 14. Upcoming park management/unethical science sim Jurassic World Evolution 3 will no longer feature generative AI. That disclosure has now vanished from the game’s Steam page, with the removal of the genAI material confirmed outright in a statement to Game Watcher. "We have removed the use of generative AI for scientists' portraits in Jurassic World Evolution 3 following some initial feedback," reads the statement. 16. Ubisoft's next big patch for Assassin's Creed Shadows arrives tomorrow, June 25, 2025, and the publisher has now detailed everything included. As we knew already, Title Update 1.0.6 includes the game's next story pack, which introduces a new Ally character for Naoe and Yasuke played by Critical Role's Robbie Daymond. Players will meet Rufino, Daymond's character, and get to hang out with him at their hideout — though whether you can also romance him is unconfirmed. Another big addition that was previously announced is a new Nightmare Difficulty option. Today brings further detail on what this will comprise, with perfect parries required to deflect hits without taking any damage, fewer combat resources, plus smarter enemies able to see and hear Naoe's movement even while crouched or in the shadows. For a slightly more difficult challenge generally, Ubisoft has added an Open World Alarm system that extends the stomping grounds of Shadows' fearsome Guardian warriors outside of castles and enemy camps. Now, Naoe and Yasuke can earn Wanted status in the open world, should you repeatedly be naughty and attack civilians or military units. Ubisoft is set to continue adding small dollops of extra story missions, alongside other fixes and feature additions, through the rest of 2025, as fans await Shadow's first major expansion Claws of Awaji, due at some point before the end of this year. The full list of additions, and a long rundown of the update's bug fixes, lie below in full. PATCH HIGHLIGHTSNew Free Story Pack: "A Critical Encounter"Reward: New Ally based on Critical Role's Assassin's Creed Shadows One-Shot campaign character, Rufino, played by Robbie Daymond. And even while in the shadows, she can be seen while moving!E.g., Enemies will no longer become vulnerable from dodges or parries - only abilities can put them into a vulnerable state.Combat resources (like adrenaline, rations, and shinobi items) are harder to come by, making their use even more vital.Toggle Headgear in CutscenesNote that headgear will not be displayed in cinematics or in some specific instances where a rule overrides this setting (romance-specific cutscenes).VFX TogglesPlayers can now disable/enable specific VFX to further customize their experience. These include the ability to hide or show the loot on dead bodies, the last known position of the player, the special attacks indicators of the enemies, and more. All will be accessible in the Interface option menu.Open World AlarmWe have expanded the Regional Alert System available in Castles to the whole Province. Now by repetitively attacking Civilians or Military units outside Castles, the alarm can be triggered, and a group of Guardians will hunt you in the world.Horse Camera PresetsYou can now toggle between 3 different camera presets while riding on your mount (hold the down button on controller/'X' key on keyboard while riding) allowing for a more cinematic experience to take in the full beauty of Japan.Ultra Low Specs for PCWe are adding a new visual quality level, the Ultra Low mode. 18. Infinity Nikki has released the first rerun of Flutter Storm, a 5-Star outfit from Version 1.0, but many players are frustrated that their pity doesn't carry over into the new banner. Despite having a very successful release in December 2024, Infinity Nikki changed its trajectory with the disastrous launch of Version 1.5. Between a myriad of technical issues, inexplicable retcons, and questionable monetization, the goodwill that Infold and Infinity Nikki accumulated during the game's first six months had all but evaporated. 19. I've never got on with crime games. Hitman, GTA, ****** - for whatever reason, I consistently find myself on the right side of the law, instead of the wrong one (which is probably a good thing). LA Noire remains, in my eyes, the magnum opus of videogames, and my recent foray back into the cyberpunk world of Nobody Wants to Die reminded me why I love playing detective. It's no surprise, then that The Precinct is very high on my 'must play' list - the streets of Averno City need to feel the swift hand of justice, and I'm here to deliver it. Stop, criminal *****, a new age of lawfulness has arrived - cue broody cop show music. Read the rest of the story... 20. I know War Thunder only as 1) the heavy armour sim Emily Gera somehow penned erotic poetry about - "O succulent tank porn and its lusty armour"... Emily! What r u doing. STAHP - and 2) an unofficial information arm for the world's militaries, fuelled by the power of pedantry. Back in July 2021, an actual tank commander posted classified documents for the Challenger 2 tank on the game's forums in order to prove that the game's representation of said tank is inaccurate. Now, somebody's done likewise for the pride of the United States Air Force: the British-made Harrier Jump Jet. Read more View the full article
  21. Chances are if you like the SteamWorld series that this won't matter very much to you, but for those of you (like me) who've never touched a single game, here's something neat: SteamWorld Dig is completely free on Steam right now. That's free to keep forever, to be clear, not one of those free weekend types of deals. It's not free for that long, mind, only from now until June 26th, and I can't give you a specific time on that day, so if you're remotely interested you might as well just add it to your library.
