Destiny 2’s recent Edge of Fate expansion marked the game’s seventh mainline annual expansion, and if there’s one thing that’s never been clearer, it’s that Bungie’s MMO/loot-shooter is tough for new players to get into. Sure, the game isn’t in its best state right now ahead of the Star Wars-themed Renegades in December, but it’s still one of the best-feeling shooters. If you’ve ever wanted to become a Titan, Hunter, or Warlock but felt you missed your chance, there’s good news: Green Man Gaming has bundled together every expansion for charity. The Destiny 2: Expansion Bundle includes every major Destiny 2 expansion released to date, with tiers including Edge of Fate and even the upcoming Renegades, which supports the Bungie Foundation. The combined value of the bundle tallies at $274.92, with a series of tiers. The top tier, Legend, includes the Year of Prophecy Edition of Destiny 2, which would normally cost $79.99, as well as all prior expansions, for $35. The Vanguard tier includes Edge of Fate and earlier expansions for $18, while the Guardian tier offers older expansions up to The Final Shape for $8. Finally, the Ghost tier is just $5 and includes the Beyond Light and Shadowkeep packs, as well as The Final Shape. Given I’ve spent thousands of hours in Bungie’s sci-fi universe, I certainly recommend playing through, especially at this price. Here’s hoping the latest story arc, the Fate saga, kicks into gear. Our reviewer, Travis Northup, gave the expansion a 6 out of 10, saying: “Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate isn’t the worst expansion the looter shooter’s been given, but it’s a major step back from The Final Shape in almost every regard, mixing content that’s simply more of the same with a few experiments here and there that don’t always work out. In case you’re wondering, The Final Shape scored a 9 out of 10 from Travis last year. Eggs have been a focal point of the Pokémon series over the years (who can forget Nurse Joy!), but there's bad news if you're trying to do the same in Pokémon Legends ZA. Having started the game, you might be wondering if you can hatch new monsters from eggs. This is an excellent way to power up your party with new members. Sadly, I am afraid that Gamefreak hasn't added one of the core features that could have made our lives easier. Does Pokémon Legends ZA have eggs Eggs don't exist in any shape or form in Pokémon Legends ZA. If you've been trying to find them hard just like me, I am afraid you won't find any. This will be a significant contrast for those who have spent hours trying to breed the perfect Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. While Scarlet and Violet aren't the best titles if you consider the fun from breeding new monsters, they at least offered the feature. The developers seem to have opted for a different path with ZA. This automatically means that there is no breeding system at launch. Screenshot via The Pokémon Company Can you breed in Pokémon Legends ZA Due to the lack of any eggs, you can't breed directly in the game. However, you can breed your desired Pokémon in the games like Scarlet and Violet and then use it in ZA. This is quite possible, but you should keep certain pointers. All transfers will have to happen via Pokémon Home.Any monster, once transferred to ZA, can't be transferred back to any other titles of the mainline series. If you still want to mix-max your squad and get an advantage in battles, your only option is to boot up an older game with breeding, and then transfer your creation with Pokémon Home. Microsoft, in its continued efforts to turn anything into an Xbox, partnered with ASUS for a branded ROG Ally handheld gaming PC, and it's officially out tomorrow. But is it worth it? I think that depends on quite a few factors, such as budget, what other handhelds you have (if any), and if you're looking to upgrade. At a hands-on event in Manhattan last week, I got some time to test out both the suped-up ROG Xbox Ally X and the base version ROG Xbox Ally, and I came away more impressed with the pricier model. But that doesn't mean the cheaper one should be ignored entirely. Photo by Scott Duwe For frame of reference, my experience with recent gaming handhelds includes the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch 2. With that in mind, I think that the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X feels like the one to go for if you're looking for the real deal when it comes to high-end PC handheld gaming, and it's the one I came away most interested in after some hands-on time with both devices. It's shockingly light for the power that it holds, and it's the most ergonomic and comfortable handheld gaming device I've used, especially when compared to the Steam Deck or Switch 2. The grooved handles are shaped just like an actual Xbox controller, so the ROG Ally X mostly just feels like one of those, but with a big screen in the middle. It feels ripe for long play sessions without getting uncomfortable or having crampy hands, like so often happens with the Switch 2 for me. As a Steam Deck user, I'm most likely to pick up the ROG Xbox Ally X over the base ROG Xbox Ally because the jump in power feels noticeable, whereas the base model feels similar to the Steam Deck when it comes to running and playing games. With the power cranked up on the Ally X, I was able go play titles like Gears of War: Reloaded and Doom: The Dark Ages at very high fidelity and buttery smooth frame rate. Lowering the wattage significantly hampers graphical quality and how the game runs in general, but the battery lasts longer, and so that will likely be how most gamers play. Plugging the system into a power supply will be your best bet for performance, but unless you're a bed-rotting gamer like me, that won't be a huge selling point. The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X feels strong enough to warrant the increased purchase price, but only for the most dedicated and hardcore. It boasts a stronger CPU, battery, and more RAM than the base model, which is mostly meant to be an entry point for console gamers looking to get into the PC handheld space, and specifically those with Xbox libraries to have playable immediately. The physical differences between the devices are negligible, other than the colorway and the X being a few grams heavier. Image via ASUS For Xbox players, the interface, controls, and everything about the device will be immediately familiar. The UI is very similar to what you'd find on an Xbox Series X or Series S, including a dedicated Game Pass tab, Xbox store, Cloud Gaming, and a library tab where you can find your games. But even if you're not the most dedicated Xbox gamer, these handhelds both support multiple libraries for PC games, such as Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and others, meaning you can load these things up with whatever you already own (digitally) on top of things like Cloud streaming via Game Pass. This sort of stuff makes the ROG Xbox Ally X even more enticing for PC enthusiasts who may already have dozens or more games on these launchers, ready to go for the handheld world. This sort of thing is already possible on existing handhelds, like the Steam Deck and the ROG Ally of the past, but it's a new experience for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed having all of those games right there. You can do the same sort of thing on Steam Deck after installing Windows on it, but the ROG Xbox Ally models come with that functionality out of the box. Unfortunately, the different launchers weren't loaded onto the sample models I played with, so I can't comment on how seamless it is to swap. One of the new features for the Xbox version of ASUS's handheld is the Handheld Compatibility Program (think Steam Deck's Verified system) that details how compatible a PC game is for the ROG Xbox Ally experience, so you can see at a glance how easy or difficult it will be to play the game. This lends itself well to bringing in new gamers to the handheld environment. As far as more ease-of-access features go, the menu navigation on both ROG Xbox Ally models was very simple and intuitive. Most of it is done through the Xbox guide button on the top left of the device, which brings up a sub-menu where you can change things like whether it's in handheld mode or desktop control modes, and most importantly, the Operating Mode setting, which dictates how much power is being used to run the device. Turbo mode is for better graphics performance and quicker battery consumption, while Performance mode is perfect for less demanding titles. Both handhelds look great with the same exact screen offering 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of beautiful brightness, and AMD VRR. Coupled with some very loud speakers that had games sounding crystal clear in a room full of gamers and reporters, it's clear that this is a high-quality handheld that ASUS has evolved with feedback over time. Photo by Scott Duwe It's really tough to recommend anyone drop $1,000 on a handheld, but if you're in the market for one as a hardcore gaming enthusiast and have the budget, I think the ROG Xbox Ally X is a good choice, especially since any sort of new Steam Deck model is likely a few years away. And if you're not ready to drop a grand on a handheld but want to expand your Xbox gaming capabilities, then the ROG Xbox Ally may be worth picking up instead. Like our content? If you're wondering about whether it's possible to obtain Ash Greninja by catching it from the wild in Pokémon Legends ZA, you've come to the right place. After all, it's not an ordinary Greninja, and has special relevance to the central lore of the Pokémon series. Ash's Greninja was the first Pokémon that Ash caught in the Kalos region, and his 44th overall. Sadly, we don't have the same luck as Ash, but there's some good news. Table of contentsCan you obtain Ash Greninja in Pokémon Legends ZAHow to get Mega Greninja in Pokémon Legends ZACan you obtain Ash Greninja in Pokémon Legends ZA Unfortunately, Ash Greninja can't be obtained in Pokémon Legends ZA since it's not present at all. This will be sad news for you if you wanted to catch the unique Pokémon to add to your collection. It's unlikely that we will get it from any future expansions, since the Mega Dimension DLC's list of creatures has been apparently leaked. While you can't get Ash Greninja, you can get a Mega Greninja instead on your journey. How to get Mega Greninja in Pokémon Legends ZA The process of obtaining a Mega Greninja in ZA is locked behind grinding the first season's Ranked battles mode. Season 1 goes live on Oct. 16, and you can then start your grind for different rewards. [Hidden Content] One of those rewards includes the Greninjite. As of writing, it's unclear how easy or hard it will be to obtain the stone. According to TPC, it will be presented as a rank-up reward to all players. Here at Ars, we have been writing about rumors of a portable Xbox for literal decades now. With the ROG Xbox Ally, Microsoft has finally made those rumors a reality in the weirdest, most Microsoft way possible. Yes, the $600 ROG Xbox Ally—and its souped-up cousin, the $1,000, ridiculous-mouthful-of-a-name ROG Xbox Ally X, which we tested—are the first official handheld hardware to sport the Xbox brand name. But Microsoft isn’t taking the exclusive-heavy, walled garden software approach that it has been committed to for nearly 25 years of Xbox home consoles. Instead, the ROG Xbox Ally is, at its base, simply a new version of Asus’ Windows-based ROG Ally line with an Xbox-flavored coat of paint. That coat of paint—what Microsoft is calling the Xbox Full-screen Experience (FSE)—represents the company’s belated attempt to streamline the Windows gaming experience to be a bit more console-like in terms of user interface and overall simplicity. While that’s a worthy vision, the execution in these early days is so spotty and riddled with annoyances that it’s hard to recommend over the SteamOS-based competition. The Outer Worlds 2 is almost here, aiming to not just be ******* than its predecessor but a better RPG in every respect when it releases on October 29 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. We think Obsidian's sci-fi sequel is one of this fall's most slept-on games, possibly due to a bumpy start after The Outer Worlds 2 was initially touted as Microsoft's first $80 game. The publisher U-turned on the decision just a month later, however, saying it was keeping the price at $69.99 "in line with current market conditions." We had a great time with The Outer Worlds 2 when we previewed it back in August, writing: "If it’s not clear by now, I’m really into what Obsidian is doing with The Outer Worlds 2. While I appreciated Obsidian’s prior attempt at this universe, I never totally fell for it, but what the studio has achieved here in this prologue is exactly what I’d hoped for the first time around. And that’s exactly why I’m willing to bet that The Outer Worlds 2 will be one of those sequels. The ones that finally take an idea all the way to greatness." The Outer Worlds 2's official release date is October 29, but if you've bought the $99.99 Premium Edition, you can jump in five days early from October 23-24, depending upon where you are in the world. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also jump in early if they have a valid subscription and upgrade to the premium edition for $29.99. The Outer Worlds 2 is available for pre-download now. October's list of PlayStation Plus games has been leaked online, and the new additions will reportedly include the 2024 remake of horror classic Until Dawn. The line-up of additional titles headed to Sony's PlayStation Plus subscription this month has once again been posted by Dealabs' ever-reliable billbil-kun, who states that Until Dawn will join the previously-reported Silent Hill 2 remake as part of October's suitably spooky offerings. PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers will gain access to both games — and several others — when the service next updates its offerings on October 21. Two additional titles will reportedly also join the PlayStation Plus classics range for Premium subscribers, also. Until Dawn's 2024 remake updated the PS4 horror classic for PS5, with additional scenes and shinier visuals so you can see its cast of teens (led by Heroes star Hayden Panettiere and Bond villain Rami Malek) face their fears in even higher fidelity. Silent Hill 2, meanwhile, will join the service just after the horror remake's first anniversary (it launched for PC and PS5 in October 2024), amid a swirl of rumors surrounding new content for the game, as well as a long-awaited but still unconfirmed launch for Xbox. Joining these will be As Dusk Falls, the formerly Xbox-exclusive narrative adventure from the lead game designer of Heavy Rain, as well as vampire survival title V Rising. The PlayStation Plus classics collection will meanwhile get PS1 fighting classic Tekken 3, as well as Tomb Raider Anniversary. Battlefield 6 launched to impressive player numbers just last week, but EA’s latest entry in the long-running FPS series is facing one issue that has players missing more shots than they should be. As players across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S poured into Battlefield 6 in the days following its October 10 launch, they were met with a launch build that holds up much better than some of the more infamous launches of the franchise’s past. It’s not been without its problems, though, with one particularly annoying bug seemingly affecting hit registration for some guns. Alright, which one of you loaded up my rifle with blanks? byu/KaiKamakasi inBattlefield6 .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } Only a few clips analyzing the issue have managed to bubble to the top of online discussion, but each has drawn more examples from other individuals faced with the same issue. Reddit user KaiKamakasi was one of the first to bring their concerns to the table, showing a clip from Battlefield 6’s New Sobek City map that sees them firing more than 20 bullets directly into an enemy and getting nothing to show for it. They joke that someone must have loaded their rifle with blanks, but the video seems to be especially damning evidence that something else is afoot in Battlefield 6. Each shot seems lined up perfectly with the enemy, so much so that blood can even be seen spurting out from the soldier as each bullet hits. The other player then kills KaiKamakasi and seems completely untouched. “I had this today as well,” one comment added. “You can even hear it when the bullets hit a body so you know are hitting them. I was playing with a mate and asking him if classes have different armour that I'd never seen because some people just appeared to be bullet sponges. “I knew I was clearly hitting them and they just wouldn't go down.” Often it feels like hit registration just doesn’t exist... byu/cjoux inBattlefield6 .reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; } User cjoux took an even closer look in their own video by counting each bullet for a zoomed-in, slow-motion video of a close-range gunfight. This time, hit markers definitely show hit registration behaving as expected, but despite being trained directly on the target, only some of the nine shots actually land. Other Battlefield 6 players, again, chimed in with their own stories of similar hiccups, and we here at IGN have also experienced phantom bullets that seem to phase right through enemies, too. “So I’m not crazy?” one reply added. “I’ve BEAMED people with a controller. I could literally see that I was on point with my reticle and still lose the engagement somehow. Always one or two bullets just MISS somehow when my gun felt like it shot more than enough to kill someone. “It’s either hit registration or I’m not used to the spread and weapon balance in this game.” Thankfully, EA is on the case. Florian Le Bihan, Principal Game Designer on Battlefield 6, tweeted to say BF Studios is investigating the issue. "It is commonly observed with the target being visibly hit (blood splatters) but no damage is confirmed in the HUD (no hit indicator etc...)," he explained. Disney Dreamlight Valley's annual Trick-or-Treat event is back, and it's brought with it a new, fairly tricky puzzle to solve. This mystery revolves around a strange new Haunted Well that grants an exclusive prize. The Haunted Well isn't easy to find, and even when you know where it is, the puzzle associated with it is still quite tricky to solve on your own. If this event task has you stumped, here's how to find and solve the Haunted Well puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsHow to start Haunted Well puzzle in Disney Dreamlight ValleyWhere to find Haunted Well in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHaunted Well puzzle solution in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to start Haunted Well puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid You can start the Haunted Well puzzle by opening a red chest in the Plaza biome. It only spawns here for the duration of the special Trick-or-Treat event, so make sure you open it before it ends. This chest can spawn anywhere in the area, so check all corners thoroughly to recover it. Mine spawned fairly close to the ramp that leads up to the Forest of Valor and near the rabbit hole you travel through during the Wonders of Wonderland quest, but yours might not be at this spot. Once you find the chest, interact with it to open it and spawn a Memory Shard. Open it to reveal a cryptic puzzle featuring a strange well, some candy, and forest trees. To tackle the next step, head up to the Forest of Valor. Where to find Haunted Well in Disney Dreamlight Valley The Haunted Well spawns at a random location in the Forest of Valor biome. Fans across the world are paying tribute to "titan of soul" D'Angelo, who died yesterday aged 51 after an undisclosed battle with *******. D'Angelo was behind the hugely popular Red Dead Redemption 2 track, Unshaken, and fans of the game as well as developer Rockstar paid tribute following the news. In a statement posted to social media, Rockstar Games called D'Angelo a "true titan of soul," writing: "We are eternally grateful for his track Unshaken which will forever be an enduring part of the legacy of Red Dead Redemption 2." The Grammy-award winning musician released three albums over his career. 2014's ****** Messiah was his last album, which makes the iconic track included on 2018 Red Dead Redemption 2's soundtrack one of his final pieces. The entire track can be heard in the mission Dear Uncle Tacitus, in an impactful segment when you're riding a horse back to camp. It boasts over 55 million streams on Spotify alone. D'Angelo was a huge fan of video games and would visit Rockstar during Red Dead Redemption 2's development after reportedly reaching out to Ivan Pavlovich, director of music and audio at the studio, through an intermediary, to "just play the game." "We weren’t even talking about doing music,” Pavlovich told RollingStone in 2018. "When D’Angelo comes through, he shows up at midnight, and he’s playing the game until four in the morning. Each time he was just like, ‘It’s incredible.’ It just blows his mind. He’s such a fan. I have never seen someone that excited. D’Angelo’s actually a massive, massive, massive fan of the game — more than I ever knew." It was because of this that Pavlovich asked if D'Angelo would be interested in contributing to the soundtrack, which is partly why there are some vocal tracks on an otherwise chiefly instrumental score. Dozens of artists have paid tribute to the musician, including Flavor Fave, Beyoncé, Nile Rodgers, Lauren Hill, and Doja Cat, but so have hundreds of gamers, some of whom were introduced to D'Angelo's music through Red Dead Redemption 2. Others are learning for the first time that D'Angelo was behind the notable track. "I can’t think about RDR2 without Unshaken and how that particular transitional scene changed the game to such a complete form of entertainment for me," wrote one affected player. "For anyone who says 'it’s just a game' - they need to experience how this song was used." "If you haven't heard any more of his music, you need to know the man was one of the absolute best in his genre, an elusive legend," said another. "His album Brown Sugar is literally no skips, if you're interested in music at all, it's worth a listen." "My favourite video game song of all time. RIP. That song will always be a part of me," wrote another fan. Photo by Frans Schellekens/Redferns.
