I'm really glad we got Tormented Souls 2. The first installment in the series is probably the most impressive homage to old-school survival horror that I've seen. Developer Dual Effect wears its inspirations on its sleeve; most notably those first three Resident Evil games, but with influences from several of the other best horror games of the era, including Alone in the Dark and Silent Hill. Tormented Souls is a game that clearly understood why those worked, embracing the limitations of the fixed-camera perspective and the inherent terror of the unseen that it creates. I have a confession to make. Warhammer 40,000 miniatures aren't a big part of my collection. They're not even the biggest part of my Warhammer 40k display. That honor goes to a certain toy company that has been killing it the past few years. Joytoy has debuted dozens of iconic characters in 1/18 action figure form. Plenty of studios have adopted the blocky voxel look made popular by Minecraft, but few to such spectacular effect as Galaxy Grove's Town to City. This cozy construction sim landed on Steam just last month and it ranks among the most beautiful city-building games I've ever seen. Set in the 19th-Century Mediterranean, it reminds me a little of Anno if the world and everything in it was made from cubes. As one of the best MMORPGs for more than two decades now, players have had a long time to get used to addons and tools, with many considered to be core pieces of the kit for anyone looking to raid.
