  1. When it comes to combat in Jump Space, it's been all about the guns so far. The co-op shooter has kept things focused on firearms since it launched a couple of months ago, but now it's giving you a new way to dismantle your robotic foes. In the game's first big content update, melee weapons are thrown into the mix, including a bullet-deflecting blade that sounds like Keepsake Games' answer to a lightsaber. The Jump Space dev has also added several new sectors and some spicier modifiers that'll give its quick and chaotic missions a new lease of life. Oh, and because it's impossible for any multiplayer game to avoid doing so, a Halloween-themed event has arrived, too. Read the rest of the story... Preach is voiced by award-winning actor, director, and performance capture artist Neil Newbon. Newbon previously announced that he is serving as the voice director for Starfinder: Afterlight. Since that announcement, fans have been eager to know if he would lend his iconic voice to the project, and now they have their answer. View the full article
  4. There's no better time to settle down with some of the best horror games than Halloween. It almost feels like an obligatory way to celebrate the holiday at this stage. 5. I'll admit it, folks: as far as MTG commanders go, the Spider-Man set's Mister Negative is a bit too brainy for me. It doesn't just lean hard into ******'s predilection towards risky tactics that cost your own life points; it makes you do math, too. But the MTG megabrains playing this two tone terror as their commander have discovered a naughty combo with the 23 year old ****** Instant False Cure. And the resulting deck has pushed that card's price up from a fiver one week ago, to over 12 bucks today! Read the rest of the story... 7. Details and images of Sony's canceled live-service multiplayer God of War game have leaked online. At the beginning of the year, Sony canceled two unannounced live-service games that were in development at Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games, with the latter thought to be a multiplayer God of War game. Now, a number of screenshots reportedly taken from the canceled project have been published by MP1st, hinting that the game may have be set in Greece once again and feature a range of diverse backdrops, including caverns and temples. Two screenshots, purportedly of Hades' Armory, apparently show the same area in different states, one 'normal' and the other seemingly infected by a curse or otherworld state with rust-colored stains. Hades was introduced in 2005's God of War and appeared in God of War II, but it wasn't until God of War III that he became a major antagonist before his brutal death at the end of the third instalment. Quite how Bluepoint planned to explain his return in this game we may never know, but it does show the Sony-owned studio was moving beyond the rebooted series' hitherto Norse setting, although there are some Norse-like touches in the screenshots, too, suggesting Bluepoint was either intending to mix it up or still experimenting. Sony has yet to announce a new God of War game, although given the success of both 2018's God of War and 2022's God of War Ragnarök it seems inevitable that fans will get more from the franchise. The question is, in what form and in which setting will God of War take on next? Speaking at MCM London Comic **** last week, Kratos actor Christopher Judge said he hoped God of War would cover the Egyptian pantheon. “Because I became best known as Teal’c from Stargate, to go to Egypt would be a completion of my circle," he teased. "But whatever is decided — wait... if there is another game, I have no doubt that no matter what pantheon it is, it will be great.” As for the God of War TV series? Ronald D. Moore — known for Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Outlander, For All Mankind, and much more — is taking on the live-action series for Amazon. 8. The PlayStation Plus Essential main game for November 2025 has leaked online. Dealabs' ever-reliable billbil-kun revealed one of the three PS Plus Essential games for November 2025: Stray. Stray is apparently the main title for the PlayStation Plus Essential selection for November 2025, and will be available from November 4, 2025 on PS5 and PS4 for Essential, Extra, and Premium subscribers. Stray is French studio BlueTwelve’s third-person cat adventure game set in the neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. As a stray cat, you roam surroundings high and low, defending against unforeseen threats and solving the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by nothing but unassuming droids and dangerous creatures. Lost, alone and separated from family, you must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten cybercity and find the way home. IGN’s Stray review returned an 8/10. We said: “Stray is a delightful cat-based platforming adventure in a cyberpunk world worth exploring.” Stray has a history with PS Plus. It launched back in 2022 straight into PS Plus Extra as a day one release, but was removed from the catalog a year later. It has since launched on Xbox and Microsoft’s subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, and Nintendo Switch. An animated movie based on the video game Stray is being developed by Annapurna Animation. The official PlayStation Plus announcement from Sony is expected this Wednesday, October 29. While you wait, check out October’s lineup. Wesley is Director, News at IGN. 9. Welcome To The Dark Place throws you into the deep end, hoping you'll come out the other side a little more clued-up on what's happening around you. Through paying attention to The Dark Place's six rules, alongside continuous trial and error, you will quickly learn what not to do so you have a fighting chance to exit through the Cloud and leave the darkness behind—for good. But purposely doing things wrong gives you one of the many Welcome To The Dark Place endings, and that's exactly what we want. If you're wondering just how many endings there are in Welcome To The Dark Place, well, we are too. It wasn't until I randomly got ending 106 that I realized The Dark Place could kill me in hundreds of ways. So, here are all Welcome To The Dark Place endings we've got so far. Every Welcome To The Dark Place ending we've got and their unlock requirements Screenshot by Destructoid The easiest way to get an ending is to purposely do everything you're not supposed to. Ignore The Dark Place's six rules and choose the option that'll most likely kill you. Most endings are game-over screens, which reset your progress back to the moment you fell from the Cloud and ******-landed into The Dark Place. But key and main endings will feature a pixelated cutscene and offer intriguing new lore at the main menu, right before you head into a new playthrough. This can point you to an untaken path or provide a bit more info on a location you might have visited before. So be sure you pay attention. We recommend gathering these endings when you're not in the middle of collecting the parts needed to fix the Dragon at the Cement Tower. This article is a work in progress and will be updated as we find more endings. 10. Sacrificing a unit in Super Fantasy Kingdom is an achievement and one of the requirements to unlock the Lich, a unit you can recruit to fight for you. It's a strong unit worth chasing because of its Fear effect, which causes monsters to run away. However, you only get the ability to sacrifice units later on in the game, after you've established a prosperous kingdom with a good influx of resources and refinement. That's because you need an Elemental Tower to offer your units to, and you need five Gold Ingots to build it. So, you need enough resources and kingdom space to have a Goldmine and a Smelter, and this can take a few runs to get. Buy an Elemental Tower to sacrifice units. Screenshot by Destructoid Drag units into the Elemental Tower The Elemental Tower summons an Elemental. Since Elementals can't level up with food, you must transfer XP from other units to them via sacrifice. To sacrifice a unit in Super Fantasy Kingdom, simply drag and drop any unit into the Elemental Tower. That unit will be consumed, and your Elemental will gain its XP and potentially level up. You can only sacrifice one unit per day, and four units in total during a single run. After that, your Elemental XP will no longer grow. Remember that units in Super Fantasy Kingdom are the ones that fight the monsters, so you can't sacrifice workers. To complete this achievement and unlock the Lich, any unit you sacrifice will do it. Your best bet is to sacrifice your weakest unit so that it powers up the Elemental. You can use the Gold Ingots you'd spend on the Elemental Tower in unit upgrades instead. If you're playing a run to win and not just to unlock the Lich, it's best to evaluate your current units' lineup before sacrificing anyone. Sometimes it's best to upgrade an existing unit rather than sacrifice it. The post How to sacrifice a unit in Super Fantasy Kingdom appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
